I can't believe we are on Chapter 50! I never expected to go this far! I hope everyone has been enjoying it!

Warning this is a long Chapter but hopefully you'll love it, they are getting married after all! Enjoy!

The Big Day

It's the next day, Steve and I are getting married tomorrow and I am starting to get a bit overwhelmed with planning it. I have only been to a couple of weddings and I never thought I would ever get married...I don't know what I am doing or know where to start and Steve's not much help either, he was already gone when I woke up this morning and I haven't seen him yet, I am trying not to freak myself out.

As I am looking at my phone trying to find a wedding dress Steve walks in, "Finally." I sigh in relief.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Steve, I'm trying to stay calm here but I am starting to get overwhelmed with all of this. I don't know what I am doing, I need your help." I say in one breath.

"Whoa whoa, first relax and take a deep breath, He said taking my hands as he makes me inhale and exhale, "And second...I don't think I can help you...I mean I'm still trying to get a tux and find a place to get married at."

"But..." I started to get upset, again getting overwhelmed until he stopped me.

"I think I know who can help you out." He interrupts.

I didn't know what he was talking about and he went to the front door and opened it up wide and in came Amber and Renee. I was in complete shock, my mouth flew open and we all squealed like a bunch of teenagers, Steve had to cover his ears we were so loud. I ran up to them and hugged them so tight.

"I can't believe your here!" I told them, then playfully hit Steve, "Is this what you were doing this morning!?

"Yes...when I picked up Luna last night I told them I was going to propose and they told me to update them and I did this morning and...I knew you wanted them here."

I just smile at him and wrapped my arms around his neck and hug him tight, "Thank you." I whisper in his ear. The second I woke up this morning I wanted to call them and tell them everything about last night but I didn't know if I could and I wanted them at my wedding so much, they were the only people I could actually call family.

"Your welcome." He smiled back as we broke apart, "There's actually more."

"More?"

"Yeah, they also told me that the night they came after you, someone came to their apartment asking if you were there," He told me.

"What?" I shockingly asked, getting worried for them.

"Yeah, we didn't tell them anything, we didn't exactly know what to say." Amber replied.

"So, I thought it would be best to get them out of there just in case and this way they can also stay with you while I was gone, so you weren't alone." I didn't say anything, I just hugged him again, he was so thoughtful! "Okay, now I wasn't lying when I said I still have to get a tux and find a place, so I will be back. You girls have fun," I give him a kiss and he leaves.

After Steve shut the door the girls and I hug again and once again squealed like teenagers, "I can't believe your getting married!" Renee excitedly said.

"I know...I never thought I would." I smiled.

"Iris, we are so happy for you..." Amber chimed in, we were all getting emotional, none of us ever thought I could ever be this happy, "But when we said you deserved to be with a good man like Captain America we didn't exactly mean THE Captain America." She joked.

"I know...it's crazy." I could only say, I couldn't take the smile off my face.

"Come on, we got a lot of work to do, I mean your wedding is tomorrow after all," Renee replied as she pull out several different wedding books, I sighed in relief and happy to know I could plan my wedding with my best friends!

"Wait, how am I going to get a dress though? We can't leave the cabin."

"Don't worry I already got you covered." I heard a voice behind me, it was Maria.

I again got a big smile on my face and hugged her tight, I was so happy that she was able to be a part of my wedding, we had become so close these last four months, "I so glad your here."

"Steve told me this morning and thought you could use some help." She explained, "I gotta say Iris, you got that man wrapped around your finger" I couldn't help but giggle.

"Well come on, we don't have much time." Amber chimed in.

I wake up to Steve giving me a little kiss on the cheek, today's the big day! We are getting married, I still couldn't believe it. Yes this was all happening so fast but like I told him after he proposed I wanted to make sure before he had to leave again that he was my husband...especially after what happened to him the last time he left...you just never know what's going to happen and I know he wouldn't even hesitate to sacrifice himself for me or anyone for that matter.

"We're getting married today." He breathed in my ear.

"I know," I smiled as I turned around to face him and put my hand on his cheek and brought his face down to mine, he caressed my cheek as well. He pulls away and gets up and starts to put his pants on, "Where do you think your going? I wasn't finished kissing you yet." I spoke with a pout on my face.

"Sorry" He says as he gives me a quick peck on the lips, "I just thought you and your friends would like some breakfast."

"Your going to make my friends breakfast?" I asked.

"Of course." He replied as he continued to get dressed. I couldn't stop staring at him, God I loved this man! The fact that he would think about making my friends breakfast, I swear sometimes I don't think he's real and that he is just a imaginary guy in my head. No one should be this perfect! I don't know what I did to deserve him!

After Steve made us all breakfast he left for a little bit to finish up some last minute things for tonight, the girls helped me with my hair and make-up. But as I am about to put my wedding dress on there is a knock at the door, Amber answers it.

"Hey, is it okay to talk to Iris for a minute?" I hear Steve's voice.

"Um...yeah, she's not dressed yet, come on in." She says as she lets him in.

"We'll give you a minute." Renee replies as they both leave.

"What's up?" I asked a little worried as I sat down on the side of the bed and he sits beside me and holds my hand.

"Well...there's a little snag with our plans today." He starts to say.

"What do you mean?"

"The CIA found him, he's been seen in Sokovia, they want us to leave immediately."

"You mean...we have to postpone the wedding?" I ask very disappointed, I was trying everything to not get too upset.

"No we're getting married today..." He replies very quickly with conviction.

"Don't scare me like that!" I playfully hit him, " Then what's the snag then?"

"...I have to leave right after the wedding...I was hoping to at least take you on our honeymoon first but...I am afraid that's going to have to wait until I come back." He said very delicately.

"That's okay...I don't need a honeymoon...just as long as I get to marry you."

"Your amazing." He sighs as he strokes my cheek and gives me a kiss and then rests his forehead on mine, "We will go on that honeymoon." He whispers, I just smile. I honestly didn't care if we did, that was not what was important to me at all.

"Get out of here so I can get dressed," I tell him, he chuckles and walks out, the girls come back in and I inform them on what's going on.

I am ready to leave the room while Renee touches up my hair and Amber is putting a big shawl over me so Steve can't see me in my dress until I walk down the aisle...we have to drive together after all.

"Here we go," I inhale softly.

"Are you ready Steve?" Amber shouts out.

"Ready when you are." He shouts out back.

I come out and he smiles at me, he looks so handsome in his tux, very traditional. He walks up to me, the girls are making sure he can't see my dress at all, but I really don't care.

"You already look beautiful." He says softly.

"So do you." I tell him.

"Let's go." He extends his hand out so I and the girls can go past him.

We were going to drive separately with the girls and I driving with Maria but Maria called and said she was going to be a little late, she wouldn't tell me what for. We drive for about 30 minutes, I have no idea where we are getting married. We don't talk much on the way there, I think we both were getting a little nervous. We drive in front of a small garden, in the middle of it was a small gazebo, it looked very old fashioned...just like Steve. Inside the gazebo were rose petals and candles, it was perfect! I couldn't have picked a more perfect spot. He opens the door for me and my friends and I take his hand.

"Steve, it's beautiful." I smile, "Where did you find this place?"

"This place use to be different, it wasn't always a garden." He replied.

"What did it use to be?" I asked looking around.

"...A church...it was where my parents got married."

"What?" I breathed.

"I wanted to get married to you where my parent got married...I'm just lucky that it was garden and not someone house or something."

"Oh my God," I could only say with my hand over my mouth, I caress his cheek and give him a little kiss. "Who's marrying us?"

"Sam knows a Pastor that could do it...they both wanted to be here but...they are finishing preparing for us to leave."

"I'm here, I'm sorry late." Maria says quickly, I smile and give her a hug.

We part ways, only Maria stays behind and as I look back one more time I notice Maria handing him something, but I can't tell what it is. While Steve goes up to the gazebo to talk to the Pastor and the girls help me take off my shawl and help me fluffy my dress. The dress is gorgeous, I obviously chose a white dress with rose tracings on the corset, it's shoulder cut with my shoulders exposed and the bottom half is very flowing. Maria joins us and I give her and the girls a kiss on the cheek and leave so they can walk down the aisle with soft music playing.

I take a deep breath and step into view and I instantly see Steve's eyes glow and he has the biggest smile on his face and so do I, our eyes never lose contact. As I approach the gazebo he walks up and extends his hand for me to take helping me step up with my dress. He brings me in front of the pastor and stands across from me. Neither of us can take our eyes away from each other, I can see in the corner of my eye the two girls already starting to cry. The Pastor starts and soon it's our turn to say our vows, "Steve, you want to go first?" The Pastor asks, Steve nods his head yes.

"Iris...for as long as I can remember I didn't know where I belonged, before and after taking the serum...I didn't fit in anywhere, even in the army. I always knew I was missing something in my life...something I could never figure out what and when I came out of the ice I was...so alone...I didn't know who I was anymore and I thought I was never going to love or be happy again...until you. Iris, you make me a better man...you bring out the best version of myself, not as Captain America but Steve Rogers, I love you Iris and I always will."

I was in tears, I wanted to kiss him right there and then and was about until the Pastor interrupted me, "Iris?"

"Steve...my whole life I have known nothing but pain...I was always told that I would never be good enough for anybody and I felt so damaged and broken...I never thought anyone could love me. I have been alone for so long...so long that I stopped believing in fairytales a long time ago...didn't think they existed especially for someone like me and didn't think someone like you could ever exist...but you do. You always said that you were going to win me over...and you did. The second I met you I started to really live for the first time. Steve, your my real Prince Charming, I love you more then anything and I always will." I cry.

He takes my hand as the Pastor continues with the ceremony. We say our I do's as the Pastor declares us man and wife, "You may kiss the bride."

Steve steps closer to me and puts both his hands on the sides of my face and gives me the sweetest smile, he kisses me so tenderly with tears running down my cheeks, I see one from him too and I have never seen him cry before. I put my forehead against his and take a deep breath.

"You need to go...they're waiting for you." I said quietly.

He gives me another soft kiss and starts to walk away but then stops and turns around, "No, not yet."

"Steve, you gotta go, they're waiting for you...it's okay...I'll be here when you get back." I tell him.

"No...I can't leave until we have our first dance..." He softly says as he reaches his hand to me.

"But..." I try to say.

"I'm going to dance with my wife on our wedding day...I want us both to have our first dance." He just stands there waiting for me.

The Pastor and the girls step away so we can be alone. He turns on a music player and puts on a song, I smiled and shook my head when I heard what it was...it was Everything I do by Bryan Adams, he actually remembered this song.

"You actually remembered this song?" I asked with a smile.

"It wasn't easy...Natasha helped me figure it out." He replied with a little chuckle.

He reaches his hand out and I take it, he pulls me in slowly and we hold he each other so close and I rest my head on shoulder and we sway slowly. He spins me around a couple of times but always brought me back to his chest, he dipped me once that put the biggest smile on my face. For someone who never danced before he was really good...but why doesn't that shock me? Is there anything this man can't do? We dance through the whole song, my eyes closed almost the entire time. As the song ends Steve puts his hands on my face again and gives me one last tender but passionate kiss, he pulls away slowly.

"I'll be back." He softly spoke.

"I know...I love you." I say as he gives me a kiss on the forehead and steps off the gazebo.

I wave seeing Natasha and Sam waiting for Steve and watch him get into the car, I am sad that he has to leave but am so happy that I can call him my husband!

They got married! How long will he be gone? We'll have to find out!

FYI: I went back and revised/changed/added some things from Chapters 1-25 and also Chapters 31 and 34, not every chapter but almost. I saw somethings I either wanted to change a little bit or add. Don't worry it doesn't change the story at all. You never know you might enjoy some new hidden jems or you might not even notice the changes but I wanted to let you guys know since FanFiction doesn't inform you.
