It had been nearly two weeks since Pandora's death. Rather than give her a proper funeral, Xenophilius and Luna had simply buried her body behind the Rook and had each said a few words. Then Luna had laid a bouquet of poppies on the grave, for poppies had been her mother's favorite flowers.

"Daddy?" Luna said softly as she entered her father's room. Xenophilius lay sprawled on his bed, staring up at the ceiling, his eyes red and bloodshot from all the crying he had done nonstop for the last fortnight. Also during that time period, his hair had begun to turn prematurely white.

"Daddy, I'm really worried about you. You haven't left your room, you've barely eaten, and you haven't showered." Xeno did not answer; instead he buried his head in the pillow and sobbed yet again. Luna walked over and put a gentle, comforting hand on his shoulder. "I know, I miss Mummy too. I still feel rather sad about it. But we can't just stop living just because she's gone; it's not what she'd want us to do. But we'll see her again someday."

The wizard slowly turned to his daughter as she spoke, then turned away again once she'd finished. Luna sat on his bed and started to run a hand through his hair while humming softly. After a while, Xeno finally wiped away his tears and managed a weak smile.

"Thank you, moonbeam," he said softly. "Thank you for comforting me; I'm starting to feel a bit better. But I'm afraid I will have to put Quibbler production on hold for a while as I still need time to grieve."

"Fair enough," Luna told him, and the two shared a hug.

That evening, Luna took a long look at the photo beside her bed; it was a photo of her and her mother that had been taken when Luna was seven. The two of them were hugging with Pandora stroking her daughter's long blonde hair.

The nine-year-old then headed outside and made her way to her mother's grave. The inscription on the gravestone read:

PANDORA SELENE LOVEGOOD

19 APR, 1949 - 26 MAY, 1990

HOUSE: RAVENCLAW

Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure

Luna took a few moments to reflect on the good times she and her mother had had together, all the amazing magical experiments she'd watched her perform, the nature walks they'd taken. A single tear rolled down the little girl's cheek as these thoughts ran through her mind.

"Until we meet again," she whispered before walking back into the Rook.
