Distracted Life

Welcome brothers and sisters to another Bible Teachings. Today we need to discuss about our most entertained lives of this modern era, but more so the distracted life for many who try to use escapism for their everyday problems. They are what helps us get through life when we are down, they are what entertained us for every moments of boredom. All of us currently have this problem, and it's what we call the Media. While not everyone is always fortunate, there is still distractions in our lives even without cellphones, computers, TV shows and more. Sometimes they are in the little things like writing, our jobs, and even spending time with family and friends. Now what I mention isn't something completely bad, but you need to ask yourself. If you or anyone you know has proclaimed themselves a Christian, Saint, and Believer of Christ. Can you say that in any moments when there was nothing at the time, you spend your time with God by Prayer, reading his words, fellowship in Christ?

Folks when we are given the opportune moments to be with Lord Jesus, we must be willfully chose this when given this chance. I can say personally that this is hard, especially since in this day and age we live where everything and everyone can be used for entertainment. There is never a moment where you could say that I'm bored and you were just sitting around twiddling your thumbs. Yet in those moments is when we should spend any moment we can towards seeking Christ. When you asked yourself what Jesus would do, I can honestly say no one would have the proper answer for those moments, but what he left behind as reminders gives an good idea how we should live and how in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are examples of how we should live. We won't be perfect as Christ, because being like God is always impossible, but we can follow him in every step of the way.

Right now with our everyday technology. we have too much information and free time spent on our phones looking up stuff and trying to find the latest news. What you probably don't realize is that while you are saying to yourself "I have all the time in the world" You entertaining yourself through distraction, is what lead to your destruction. Now immediately, but when you continue to ignore God and entertain yourself you will find that God will leave you and he will be farther away because you replace him with your idols. When I say idols, I mean your current electronics and things that displease God or even in things that distract you from God.

All of us have this problem and we need to take heart that when we are distracted, we will lose ourselves and the reality around us. If you were told that you had one day to live, would you just be playing with your video games or cellphones? No because in your heart you know that with what time left you want to die without regrets. While that is fine and good, there is one regret everyone will face when they are lost without God in their lives or reject him. This is a sobering reminder that when we lose track of time, we are losing ourselves and our souls to this world. Think of this world and things it holds on your life as some leech, one that sucks life from your body and takes one second at each turn of the clock. This clock is for how long you lived since birth and the ticking end for our deathbeds. Take this moment to imagine this and asked yourself have you making time for God and what he wants for your life, or are you wasting away for your own pleasures?

Christ will save you from our pre-destine path, but we need to commit ourselves to him if we can be saved and change for the better. There will be those who can be saved at the last second in Heaven, but don't expect yourself to be that person cause God knows your heart and mind. While Easter as long past, think of the two criminal that died alongside Jesus. Both men have wasted their lives in something they shouldn't have done. Both of them had wasted away with their distracted lives and have only seek for themselves, yet when they are hung on the cross alongside Jesus, while one mock him the other asked for forgiveness. For that one knew that who Christ was and admits he and the other are guilty for their crimes. The Man would then asked, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." and Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise." God is in the business of saving our souls, and God always finds a way to help those who seek him and asked in prayer, yet when we try to seek for ourselves we allow distractions and things that entertain us to lead us astray. We need to be reminded that we are like vapors, we are here and are gone next moment. That means we can die at anytime and this world and life is not our eternal home. Remind yourself of this reality and know the more distractions you seek, the more time will tick on your final breath.
