'And so, the dreaded day came. The many previous days of tension had finally reached its peak. A city roaring with cheers and chatter for two Familia's about to do battle. The stage was set. We had done all we could to prepare… and I yet I just lie awake wondering. Was it enough? Have I done all I could to prepare? Only time would tell… But one thing was certain. Win or Lose. my life is surely about to change….'

"Regis… Why did you save me that day? What did you see in me that was worth such action, such kindness? Even now I look back reminded of that kindness. This Familia welcomed me with open arms. But was it because I came in their time of need?"

*Knock* *knock*

'Probably.'

"Yes, who is it?" Luna sat up from her bed. Looking towards the door. Waiting for a reply.

A soft voice spoke out. "It's Mikoto, we're all gathering downstairs, are you ready?"

Luna sighed heavily before looking down. She hadn't slept the entire night, so much so that she prepared her things in advance. Even as the sun began to rise, she had already changed in preparation.

'Still, they've shown me more kindness than most in this messed up world. Such kindness is worth repaying.'

"Y-yeah… I'm ready." Her voice carried her uncertainty. She was ready physically… But mentally a small seed of doubt had planted firmly in her head. But she just ignored it rising to her feet.

Mikoto remained on the other side of the door waiting. She waited to hear girl footsteps on the somewhat creaky floorboards. Though was left startled when the door suddenly flung open.

"Huh?" Mikoto recomposed herself. Mikoto waited for her to say something though it never came. On closer inspection, she got her answer.

Luna stood in the doorway still trying to prepare herself mentally though to no avail. Her body and hands began to shake. She tried hard to stop it, but this only made it worse.

Mikoto placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled. "It's okay to be worried. Sometimes fear is a good thing. It means you're not stupid."

"Huh?" She was left more confused the worried.

Mikoto laughed "Hehe fear before a battle is normal. What I'm saying is don't let it control your thoughts. Nobody is expecting you to win or to lose. Just do your best and have faith."

Luna smiled and nodded "I will, thank you Mikoto."

With that, the two-headed downstairs for what would be the final calm before the storm.

The two girls were the last to join the meeting table. Welf and Bell sat to the left looking over Bell's gear for the wargame. Artemis and Lili sat to the right chatting. The previous day they had been butting heads but now they seemed to be getting along if only on the surface. Next was Hestia who was patiently waiting for the last two to arrive.

She looked up and tried to look somewhat happier than she was. Though she was putting on a brave face she had as much to lose like everyone else. She didn't speak just giving them a simple nod to their acknowledgement as they took their seats.

Everyone turned to greet them though the mood said it all. Everyone had been dreading this day and now it was here what could they say. Though the mood was somewhat dampened by the event it wasn't going to get them down!

"Right everyone. Todays the day we kick that scumbag Apollo and his crummy Familia up the arse!" Everyone went quiet about to raise their arms into the air through Hestia was never one for motivational speeches. This caused Artemis to giggle to herself.

"Ohh I'm sorry Hestia but I've never seen you try to motivate people." Though some would be annoyed at this Hestia just shrugged it off and nodded.

"Yeah, I guess I'm not the best person to motivate you all, but I had to give it a shot. After all this is the day we show all Orario were not a bunch of pushovers. We may be outmatched but you can be certain we're gonna win this. I have faith in you all Win or lose let's do our best!"

They all smiled and shouted "YEAH!" The motivation seemed to echo through the hostess and towards its staff how smiled as they worked. Welf sighed and looked at everyone.

"Sorry I haven't had the chance to go over everyone's Equipment… If I'd have a little more time we could have had a bit more of an advantage on that front…"

Just as he finished, the doors of the hostess flung open and to everyone's shock, Hermes entered with some of his unique flares. "I wouldn't worry about that too much young Crozzo I bring good news in these dark times."

Everyone stares at him waiting to hear what he has to say though he seemingly holds off telling them to let the moment drag on. It's not until Asfi walks in and slaps the back of his head that he seemingly begins to speak.

"Ouch! Okay okay, seriously can't you let me savour this moment for once…"

Asfi raised the piece of paper in her hand ready to hit him again but as he coward, she simply shook her head. "What my fool of a god is trying to say is…" she looked over to him to finish.

"Ohh yes, it seems you've had a very generous donation, from some unknown source. Apparently, they paid quite a hefty sum to a few local blacksmiths and other business and have managed to get you all geared out."

Everyone seemed ecstatic by the news even Welf who had his professional pride to think about, though he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. The only one that even seemed remotely unsure was Hestia who wanted to ask more than a few questions.

"Hermes while I'm grateful and all, surely there has to be a bigger reason for why someone would willingly go out of their way to make sure such a thing possible. Doesn't it strike you to be a little odd?"

Hermes just shrugged in response. "Who knows Hestia, perhaps they have a reason for wanting you to win, or perhaps they placed a huge wager and expect to earn a profit, ever way… Whatever the reason don't let it worry you."

Hestia sighed after agreeing to drop the matter. Such a blessing while strange wasn't something she would turn down. Anything this late in preparations was a big boost to them.

"Everything has been delivered to the colosseum, which surprise surprise is your venue for today. You've been given a designated area, cornered off for everyone to get ready. Fights are to be held one after another with twenty-minute time gaps so the next fighters can get ready and make any final preparations."

Both himself and Asfi walked over to the table, taking a seat before continuing his explanation. "While the fights are ongoing all members of the Familia must be present to ensure no secret preparations are taking place."

He took a moment to catch his breath. "Also make note that the Freya Familia will be enforcing the rules of this wargame! I shouldn't have to tell you what will happen if your seen breaking any of them…"

He finally exhaled, smiled starting to relax back into his chair. "Relax, everything I've just told you is just standard stuff. Besides, I have full confidence in you all. Isn't that right Asfi?"

She sighed "That and he betted a large chunk of the Familia's savings on you all to win!" Her eyes shot daggers at him causing him to chuckle nervously…

"Haaahaha… Yeah… Of course… It's just like I said I have that much faith in them. I'm certain their gonna win."

He coughed into his hand as he gauged the room. Once it was clear everyone was past Asfi's little jab he continued.

"Anyways it's not a lot. Armour and weapons only. Obviously, you must understand that normally it's against Wargame rules for other Familia's to get involved. Unless those involved agree to it."

Everyone nodded finally understanding the situation. Though before anyone could say anything Asfi step forward.

"Of course, we can't ask them directly though if they chose to intervene on their own that's different. Since you have no idea who the sponsor is the guild can't step in on Apollo's behalf."

Hermes nodded. "Thus, Hephaestus stepped up. She also gave me a message for you Hestia."

"Ohh what is it?" She leaned forward to see the other god smiling.

"Try not to get so worked up. But more importantly, win."

Hestia smiled. "Yeah, I don't intend to. She really is a woman of few words."

Hermes rubbed the back of his head "yeah…"

'I don't think she'll want to know what else was said. Or what would happen if she did lose.'

"Before I go, there are a few small things I must mention. Firstly, under no circumstance should you try to get involved in any of the matches. If you do then it will be an immediate disqualification!

He made sure to look at Bell when he said that.

"Secondly, you won't know who you're up against until the match starts. Both teams must state the orders before it begins to ensure no changes are made mid-fight."

"Finally, potions and other such support items aren't allowed. Magic swords being the exceptions, skill and magic are fine as they show the person's abilities. Other then that anything goes. The match ends once the opponent is knocked out, stopped by an official or surrender. Nothing else will stop the match."

He got up from his chair and looked to Asfi with a nod. He turned back to them and smiled tipping his hat to them all.

"Well, I must be off. Though Hestia would you mind joining me outside for a moment?"

The small goddess was slightly confused but agreed all the same following him outside. Asfi waved goodbye before continuing on ahead leaving her God to his business.

While it was quiet outside Hermes made sure that nobody was listening in on them. Besides a small crying child, the streets were empty. Happy nobody was listening he dropped his cautious demeanour.

"Sorry, can't be too careful. Anyways I want to ask that you keep Bell and Artemis back till the last two fights."

Hestia crossed her arms trying to work out the god's plan. "Why? Apollo isn't gonna go easy on us Hermes he'll probably throw his best at us early on so…"

The taller god shook his head. "That's not what I mean. We barely know anything about Artemis's current state of mind. Don't even try to deny it, Hestia. I'm well aware of her recent blackouts!"

Hestia took a step back at this reveal. 'How did he know…'

"Ryu told me, she's worried about what might happen if she blacks out in the middle of a fight and for that matter so am I!"

Hestia sighed. "I know I know… but this whole thing is very personal to her. If she doesn't fight, she might never get these problems off her chest."

Hermes sighed gently hitting the wall with his fist. "And if she blacks out in the middle of her fight, she'll be given the loss! Not to mention the danger you're putting her in!"

Hestia took a step forward though still remaining calm. "She knows better than anyone the risks. She wants to get revenge and I'm not gonna stop her!"

Hermes leaned his head back to the sky before he began to pace back and forth taking deep breaths regularly. "Ugh, I'm not saying she can't fight only to delay it… Use Welf and Mikoto first to guarantee that your safe till the end. Don't risk your Familia's future on a personal vendetta!"

She turned away. "I don't intend to… Argh fine I'll hold off on using them early but why does Bell have to be used last surely it would be an easy win if we use him, Welf and Mikoto early?"

"Just because you get the early win doesn't mean the wargame is just gonna stop? The guilds looking to make quite the killing off this little event. They aren't just gonna stop midway."

"Besides, Hephaestus and I have been working on something for both of them. Both him and Artemis. I had hoped to give it to them before the wargame started but that's not gonna happen…"

Hestia raised an eyebrow. "I thought you said outside help wasn't allowed? And what the hell are you being so secretive about?"

He shook his head. "You'll find out. All you need to know is this had nothing to do with the wargame and the guild was informed."

Hestia shook her head "Have I ever told you how much I hate your secretive nature?"

Hermes nodded as he turned to head down the street. "Yeah, every time I get involved. Good luck Hestia, drinks are on me when you win."

Hestia smiled and waved to him "You know I'll hold you to that!" She watched as he disappeared into the oncoming crowd of people headed towards the colosseum. With a small smile, she turned around and head into the hostess.

Hestia re-entered the hostess smiling as she looked on at her familia. All of them were chatting and laughing, a rare sight in such a horrible situation. Though she hoped that it would stick with them through the wargame. She took a step forward coughing loudly to get everyone's attention.

"Okay everyone, listen up! Here's what's gonna happen. Firstly, I've decided upon your line up. Mioko your gonna be first. Welf you'll be second. Between the two of you, I'll expect an easy victory."

She turned to Luna next." Luna your third, I'm certain you'll be fine so don't worry too much."

The smaller girl nodded. "I'll do my best goddess."

She finally turned to Bell and then Artemis. "Artemis you'll be the fourth one out and finally Bell will be last."

The room seemed to go silent as they all pondered the line-up. Welf more than anyone looked to his new goddess with many questions.

Moving towards her he garnered the attention of everyone in the room. "Forgive me for being presumptions but wouldn't it be better to try and get a win early? Surely using Bell in third would be a better strategy?"

Everyone bar Hestia looked to the blacksmith with open minds but didn't speak up to agree or disagree with him.

Hestia meanwhile sighed. 'I asked the exact same thing Welf…' However, she was playing her cards close to her chest and she was gonna be sure to stick to it.

"I don't disagree with you Welf. However, you're forgetting something very important?" She let out a curt smile as Welf became confused.

"Forgive me but what's more important than winning?"

Hestia burst out laughing. "The glorious final of course. Captain vs Captain the best vs the best. Even if by some cruel fate it comes down to just one match, I'm sure it would be one of the most thrilling things you'll ever see."

Everyone listened to her and more than a few watched waiting for her to throw her hands up and shout to the heavens.

Bell was one as he began to chuckle to himself as the image of another god entered his head. "Hahaha…"

Hestia pouted looking at her favourite child. "What's so funny Bell?"

Bell felt her staring straight at him though that didn't make it any less funny. "Haha sorry goddess but for a moment haha. I thought you were trying to impersonate lord, Hermes."

Hestia was going to smile but then her eyes went red. As she lunged at Bell. His eyes went wide as he saw her flying towards him.

"G-goddess wait!" But she didn't and he found himself tackled to the floor with the loli goddess hitting his chest.

"Traitor, how dare you even think that! I thought I'd raised you better than that. Have you no love for your goddess!"

Artemis watched from the side. Though she was just as surprised as everyone else by Bells remark. Though the memory of times long passed returned as a familiar scene involving herself and Hestia.

'Well, calling her short didn't help'. She smiled remembering their first meeting all so long ago. Watching her and Bell made her chuckle getting Hestia's attention.

"Not you to Artemis! I at least thought my best friend would take my side?" She turned her attention back to Bell. "Cheater, friend stealer, I should have never let you get so close to her!"

Lili sighed still sitting at the table before getting to her feet and strolling over to them. "Yeah yeah, look we only have a few hours left before we have to leave. Try to save it till after we've won?"

Both Welf and Mikoto nodded as did Hestia who seemed quick to forgive Bell. Though that wasn't that strange.

She cleared her throat and smiled. "Lili's right for once. We best make sure were all ready."

Lili meanwhile glared at her "Don't push your luck goddess. I'll forgive that last comment but don't think I've forgotten it!"

Hestia just shrugged her off. "Anyway, since we've got some time, I think I should update your status. We might as well go in order, so Mikoto your first. Everyone else might as well chat until I call for you."

Mikoto hastily got to her feet swiftly following Hestia towards the stairs. Everyone that stayed took a deep breath. The tension still fully tangible, Bell hated it. He looked to each of his friends, each had a different expression, but they all said the same thing.

'I should say something… But what?'

He clenched his hands together. The truth of the matter was he was feeling the same as them. 'Fighting monsters was one thing but fighting other humans…'

Like someone had set a fire inside him the memories of his first encounter with the Apollo Familia still stung.

'No… What they did was unforgivable! To think that people like him walk around too, makes me sick!' Without realising it, he began clenching his fists, a faint laughing seemed to linger in his head irritating him more and more. This combined with such a horrible memory made him uncharacteristic angry.

"Bell?" A feminine voice called out. Though it wasn't until another hand was placed on his that he registered it. It was Artemis, though she had been careful not to make it know. All it took was a soft squeeze and gentle smile to bring him back to his usual self, all his worries and frustrations seemed to dissipate.

The young girl carefully inched closer making sure to not be too obvious as she whispered into his ear. "It's okay, we're gonna win. I know its unsettling, but I have faith. In Hestia, the others and most of all you."

Bell found himself blushing a little though he tried to ignore it. "Thanks, I'm sorry if I worried you."

His comment made her giggle, her hand slowly entwining itself in his. Though she was being cautious, Lili was quick to anger and she didn't want any trouble, not today. However deep down she didn't care what the Pallum girl might say she was enjoying the feeling of being close to him. Did that make her a hypocrite? Yes, and she didn't care about that either.

Seconds passed by with no reply and yet she dared to lock fingers, her heartbeat started to increase as she a reply.

"D-don't be silly…" Her eyes drifted to the others. It didn't seem like anyone had caught on yet, though she wasn't about to risk it. Even if the prospect of getting to rest against him even briefly was extremely tempting.

"J-Just promise me one thing?" She said being even more careful not to be heard.

Bell nodded. The whole time he was trying to remain composed. Though that was hard when she was so close. He could practically hear his own heartbeat at this point. "Anything."

She began blushing a deep red slowly dropping her head towards the floor. "W-when this is all over, you'll take me hunting again…" Both of them went silent for a moment though she wasn't yet finished. "J-just the two of us…"

Hearing this caused his brain to stall for a moment. The memories of the last ones were still fresh in his head. Though the last one hadn't gone as planned he wasn't about to deny the prospect of some time alone with her.

"I promise." As he said that her face lit up like a Christmas tree her smile seemed to radiate joy. And that joy didn't sit well with a certain someone.

"While I don't mind the change in the atmosphere do you mind telling me what it is you two are whispering about?"

Both nearly jumped out their skins upon hearing Lili's voice. Artemis flung herself to the side to make some distance. However, both of them had yet to let go of one another's hand, so they remained connected below the table at arms distance.

"Umm," Bell was about to say something though he faltered and looked to the equally flustered girl for a response. All the while the young Pallum felt a vein begin to bulge in her head.

"Ughhh you know what don't bother I don't want to know…" That didn't however stop her shooting looks at the girl.

Everyone was now staring at them and even though they couldn't see them holding hands under the table it was far too embarrassing for them to keep hidden. So, both reluctantly let go and tried to start other conversations while they waited.

Hestia sighed as she flicked through the status sheets for Mikoto, Welf and Luna.

Hestia continued to sift through them looking over Luna's most especially. Welf and Mikoto were gonna have an easier time when it came to one on one fights.

'In any other kind of fight, she might have been super effective. However, the entire arena is gonna be focused on her… Her stats are extremely low as expected but even then… Perhaps Hermes is right to have her third. Given the situation, Apollo won't go easy on us and even if he does it will only be to our benefit.'

She lay the papers down on the bed as she began to think. However, this brief thought was broken when she heard a knocking at her door.

"Come in." She called out as the door started to open. It was no surprise however when her friend walked in.

Artemis quickly entered shutting the door behind her. Upon seeing her friend, she smiled and headed over to her side. Hestia quickly moved to the side and allowed her friend to sit down.

Hestia kept a close eye on her as she entered trying to notice any unusual signs. 'I wonder if she's okay? Hermes is annoying at times, but he does make a good point. She's certainly strong-willed but even I know her limits…'

She carefully placed her hand onto the other shoulder. Giving her a reassuring smile before she asked anything. "How are you feeling?"

Artemis smiled with a sigh. "Okay. Except getting drunk and embarrassing myself, getting constantly beaten down by Mikoto ohh and not being able to sleep…"

The smaller goddess burst out laughing hearing her friend complaints. "But other than that, you're fine yeah? Not gonna blackout in the middle of walking out?"

A sudden jab came to the side of her arm. "Ouch!"

Artemis smiled as she eased her fist back into her lap. "I don't intend to, currently my body is itching for payback against that smug-faced asshole!" She said smashing her fist into her hand.

Watching her friend being so pumped up gave her a sense of relief though it was clear Artemis was starting to get used to her new life.

"Such language! Need I remind you that you're in the presence of a goddess. Certainly, you know the proper conduct?"

Another quick jab came her way getting another yelp though it was all in good fun as the two began to laugh. Hestia leaned onto her friend's shoulder and closed her eyes something inside her starting to well up as memories long forgotten returned…

"Hey, can I ask you something? She asked in a sober tone. "Are you happy? In this new life, I mean…"

This question was a confusing one to hear from her friend. Her tone had changed completely, and it was on the cusp of sounding sad. Giving it some thought she nodded.

"Yeah, I think I do…" She trailed off her life as a goddess had been one of repetition and stagnation. When she came to the lower world, she expected it to be different and in a way it was. Though even with her newfound freedom she was still protected and sheltered by her Familia. She understood why and didn't resent the fact once again becoming another centrepiece.

She took a deep breath as she thinks. 'Was my divinity just shackles on my life? If so, how do I explain this to my friend someone I've known and loved like family?'

Her head dropped slightly as the thought passed. Thinking about it wasn't gonna change anything the fact was this was her life now. Whether she liked it or not.

Hestia chimed up catching her attention. "I'm glad… I was worried at first, that you wouldn't adapt well to city life. Or perhaps you'd despise Bell, without first giving him a chance."

She smiled a cheerful tone on her lips. "Even if it's been a pain in my neck these last few days, I'm glad to see you two getting along. Though for the love of the Heavens please stop getting into arguments."

Artemis felt a faint blush creep up on her. "I-I don't try to it's just…"

Hestia laughed. "If I knew you were gonna be the jealous type I'd have hidden you from Bell first chance I had! Though seriously you can't keep hiding your feelings for him forever. I mean what's stopping you?"

Artemis blush now became a heavy red. "I-I don't know. W-what if it's just a phase?"

Hestia looked at her with a deep pan expression. "You jumped out a window the moment you saw him! You nearly picked a fight with a high-class adventure and everyone pretty much knows your head over heels for him."

Her stern tone was to show she was serious but also to try and get the facts through her friend's somewhat thick head.

Artemis started to shift her feet. "What if Bell doesn't like me like that?"

This time Hestia hit her over the head. "Urgh If you believe that then you're an idiot. How many times do I have to say it? Bell likes you and likes you like that. You get to sleep in his bed. You get his attention and worries Hell the only reason he hasn't probably kissed you yet is that he's an idiot too!"

The Loli goddess nearly burst into a rant though managed to compose herself at the last second. Sighing heavily as she ran her hand over her face. "His obsession with that girl is aggravating but the same could be said about you."

She dropped the hard act and smiled giving her friend a small hug. "After this is over the two of you will have all the time to see that. Now come on I've spent enough time chatting we've got a wargame to win yeah!"

"Yes!"

With that Artemis removed her shirt and laid down on the bed. Hestia positioned just above her as the light began to shine brightly. It takes but a minute as the light slowly fades and a piece of paper is removed from her back. She feels the weight of her friend slowly lighten as she gets off of her looking over her paper.

She quickly grabbed her shirt putting it back on and looking over to her more than surprised friend. "Is everything okay?" She asked trying to look over her shoulder.

Hestia folded the piece of paper and smiled. "Y-yes. Everything looks great! I'm sorry but can you go get Bell for me we're behind schedule."

She nodded quickly heading towards the door as it closed behind her Hestia unfolded the paper once more.

She cleared her throat. "Please do."

Placing her hands on his back a light began to irradiate as she looked closely. After a while she finished up and removed the piece of paper from his back.

"Thank you Bell would you mind waiting downstairs with the others?" She said not taking her eyes of the piece of paper.

Bell nodded though he hesitated for a moment hoping to see his update… Though it wasn't the first time Hestia didn't show it. "Y-yes goddess." With that he left leaving the goddess to herself once again.

With everyone's status updated and the itch to get a move on. Hestia thanked everyone at the hostess for the hospitality. They had a few hours to get to the colosseum. More than enough time though the small goddess was still adamant they should arrive with plenty of time to spare. So, they left heading down the long maze-like streets. Lili had already head on ahead of them saying she'd see them when they arrived.

The people they passed were a mixture of surprised and excited as they passed. While a lot of them seemed to glare and whisper as they did others would cheer and wish them luck. Given this, the group's mood hit the roof as they began to chat with one another.

Bell and Artemis to no one's surprise were walking together though it seemed like the two were embarrassed. However, that didn't stop them from chatting. Mikoto and Welf discussed strategies and battle tactics. This left Luna walking slowly behind them by herself.

"Hey, Luna you okay?" She looked up from the ground and noticed Bell and Artemis had stopped. It was Artemis that had called out to her and waved her over to them. She hesitated at first but ultimately caught up to them.

She didn't say anything as she caught up to the two. Even though they were the first to meet her she had spent less time with them compared to the others. Though this wasn't going to stop them from starting up a conversation.

"You seem quiet are you worried?" Bell asked seeing that she was the only one not in high spirits.

She nodded. "A-A little… As I said before my skills aren't made for one on one fights. Given my options, I prefer to stay out of sight…" She began to rub her arm though Artemis quickly began to comfort her.

"It's okay. Just do your best. Nobody is expecting anything of you. Win or lose. You did more for us just by agreeing to help."

Bell also began to add on the conversation. "She's right, I have faith in everyone here. Even if we all lose. I won't hold it against anyone. The fact is you came in our time of need and we'll never forget that."

The girl smiled as the kind words sent joy around her body. "Thank you. It's strange, really all this. I feel like my life has a purpose and you've all given me something I've been missing. I don't intend to lose without a fight no matter who the opponent I can promise you that!"

The three broke out into smiles. Hestia who was close behind them listened in on the conversation. She too was smiling as she looked to the heavens up above wondering.

'Fate is a funny thing…'

They continued the streets and the conversation changed with each corner. Bell was curious about something, so he looked to the smaller girl. "Luna I've been meaning to ask but. What really brought you to Orario?"

He remembered upon her first meeting that she was visiting but that didn't explain why she randomly just decided to join them at such a terrible time. She began to rub her arm as she looked away, "Well…"

She seemed hesitant. Upon noticing this Bell was about to drop the question seeing it was a difficult topic for her. Though before he could she began to spoke.

"I… I made a promise to someone. When I was young, I had been taken from my village by a group of bandits. After a while I had all but given hope of being saved. Until an adventure came through. He saved me that day and gave me a second chance at life. For a time, I followed him and learned from him. One day he left leaving a note. It told me to head to Orario and find a Familia I could trust…"

She smiled. "And so, I did. Though upon meeting you I was quite surprised, I heard the little rookie was both strong and courageous. I thought maybe you would be a scary kind of person."

Artemis wasn't quick enough to hide her laugh. "I can't imagine Bell being scary. Even if he tried really really hard..."

Bell rubbed the back of his head. "Haha yeah… Rumours in this city sure do over exaggerate things."

Luna was about to ask something, but she was left speechless as they reached the foot of the colosseum. Its stone walls reached far into the sky while its many windows and entrances might seem over the top given its huge size it welcomes many to watch the day's events unfold.

As they approached Bell felt as if someone was watching him. He looked around but didn't see anyone. Though the feeling didn't stop as he began to examine the many windows of the colosseum. As he looked his eyes caught a faint tinge of silver hair disappearing into the shadows. Though he couldn't make out who.

"Bell you coming?!" Welf called to him breaking his train of thought. He looked at his red-haired friend and quickly went to catch them up.

Meanwhile in the Colosseum.

"Your fondness for that boy knows no bounds lady Freya. I do hope you're not planning to do anything funny to him?" Regis stepped out of the shadows to join the goddess as they watched from above as the Hestia familiar entered. His own attention was focused on a certain girl.

Freya after losing sight of her precious rabbit decided to turn her attention towards the man. "What I do in my free time is my own. Besides he's an interesting boy why shouldn't I indulge in my curiosity?"

Regis scowled but didn't say anything in response. "How is he doing by the way? I hope your satisfied with our arrangement?"

"Indeed I am. I must admit when I learned who he was I was quite excited. Though at first, he seemed underwhelming though I've seen his potential and it's quite astonishing. I must say I'm more than a little curious about who you came to acquire him?"

Freya's eyes lit up though the man before seemed to ignore her question. He crossed his arms and sighed. "You can stop trying to charm me lady Freya it's a wasted effort!"

She sighed. "So it is. Though with a soul like yours I'm not surprised. This world still manages to surprise a goddess like myself. Fine if you're not gonna answer that question perhaps explain why you're so interested in Hestia winning?"

He scoffed at her question. "Apollo is a fool nothing more. He doesn't deserve to win and even then, he still twists fate around his fingers. No doubt he will try to manipulate the situation to his advantage."

Freya hid her laughter well behind a smile. "And your little bird. Such a girl doesn't seem like the type to fight?"

Regis remained stoic in his expression his voice growing tired of talking. "I don't expect anything from her. Given the situation It was better than doing nothing at all."

'Given her nature, this is a far safe option…' He closed his eyes lingering on the thought before getting up. "It's almost time for the opening ceremony. We should get going."

Freya nodded. "I take it you'll be taking me up on my offer to join me?"

He just nodded and followed behind her as they headed towards the main arena. The cheers of thousands all erupted at once which could be heard from miles around. Taking his seat along with the silver-haired goddess he waited for the wargame to begin.

Down below.

"Everyone it's about time I got worried," Lili said exiting one of the many rooms. "Apollo has already arrived it seems he's already taken his seat."

Hestia nodded looking to everyone. "Would you all mind waiting for me while I have a chat with Lili?" She said as Lili pointed towards the room she just exited.

"This is where everyone can come to get ready. Since you have some time you might as well peruse the gear that's on offer. Though it's not a great deal." Everyone nodded heading into the room leaving the two to speak in private.

Hestia didn't wait before she started asking questions. "So, what did you find out?

Lili sighed. "Not a lot. I know who's fighting and given what I've been managed together on them all it's not good."

Hestia sighed. It wasn't the worst news she could hear but knowing anything was better than anything. "So, who we up against?"

Lili nodded as she leaned against the wall and taking out a small notebook.

"Firstly, we have their captain Hyakinthos Clio. Level 3 and extremely temperamental and cocky. Given what I've learned he's about equally matched with Bell and probably be his last bet."

Hestia nodded.

"As for everyone else we have. Daphne Lauros level 2 and one of his commanders. Next is Lissos and another commander level 2. The last two are quite strange picks. Cassandra Ilion from what I can gather she's more of a supporter then anything though that doesn't mean she's not a threat."

Hestia rubbed her chin. "Yes, that is strange, what could he possibly be thinking using someone like her… And the last person."

Lili's face turned grim. "You're not gonna like this one. Lourus a brute of a man. Recently levelled up. But that's not what worries me. Recently he was released from custody after getting into a scrap with a certain white-haired boy!"

Hestia's eyes went wide. "Bell… B-But that could only mean…"

She thought back to when Bell and Artemis returned. Welf had all but confirmed his story, Artemis had been kidnapped and almost raped. The very thought made her sick to her core.

"Apollo you scumbag!" She wanted to hit something though she resisted and turned back to the small pallum. "Thank you, Lili. You can go take your seat. I've got to give the order of our team."

With that the two split up. Though as she walked the long corridors towards the main office, she felt a bad omen was about to occur. When she entered, many guild officials and gods were present. Royman sat in his large chair eating what looked to be a small cheese board.

"Welcome lady Hestia, May I assume you've made your decision?"

She nodded as she spied Hermes standing in the corner though she didn't make any attempt to look at him. "Mikoto Yamamoto will be first. Welf Crozzo second. Luna third Forth Artemis and finally Bell Cranel last."

Royman nodded. Very well. The opening ceremony will begin in an hour at what point the first fight will get underway. We will call on the next person after the match is resolved. If you have nothing else to say on the matter your free to take your seat."

He bowed as she left. Royman smiled as he looked at his desk, taking another piece of cheese from the plate. "This is sure to be an interesting event indeed. Wouldn't you agree lord Hermes?"

The god didn't respond simply shrugging as he waited patiently for the events to take place. He looked over to Riveria who was also board out her mind. Though he didn't say anything instead choosing to watch her from afar.

When that was becoming dangerous however he closed his eyes and rested. 'Given everything that's going on. I wonder if he's watching? Well, I'll be sure to give him a perfect view.'

As the stadium began to fill out more than a few familiar faces filled the stands. Most notable was the remnants of the Loki Familia who had all gone together. Though few they all made it clear who they were cheering for. Well, almost all of them.

"Come on Lefiya get into the spirit of things. I bought you that flag for a reason." Tiona kept poking at her though the Elf girl seemed to get more and more upset with every push.

"Why? Why Tiona did you decided to give me a flag with his face on it!" She shouted pointing to a flag baring the face of Bell Cranel someone she found annoying and as a potential rival.

Tiona seemed surprised by this. "How but I thought you two knew each other? Surely you want him to win?"

Lefiya felt her hate for the boy build up. "NO, I DON'T!"

She looked to her left hoping that Aiz the sword princess would agree with her. Though to her horror, she two had a Bell flag something that depressed her greatly. "Ugh forget it what's the point… woow gooo Cranellll…."

Tiona smiled hugging the girl tightly. "That's the spirit!"

Lefiya began to cry, 'Someone please kill me now!"

Tione looked to her sister. "It was sure nice of Riveria to give us these tickets though it's a shame she can't join us for this."

"Yeah but she would be a total buzz kill anyways, At least this way we can have fun."

Aiz felt a shiver run down her spine at the thought of Riveria being sat next to her as she cheered for Bell. Though Tiona's comment didn't go unnoticed.

"Don't let her find out you said that. Otherwise, it's dungeon duty for a month."

The crowds went quiet as the head of the guild walked out along with Hestia and Apollo both exiting from opposite sides. Everyone watched as they made their way into the middle of the Arena. The silence itself was almost deafening in its own right though the fat elf was slow to reach his podium but when he did a magic crystal was brought to help speak.

"Ugruhm Ladies and Gentlemen I welcome you to the wargame of the Apollo and Hestia Familias as the progress we will…." As he droned on Apollo took the time to jab at Hestia.

"Well well, you actually showed. And here I thought you would run with your breasts between your legs!"

She remained unaffected by his comments trying her best to ignore him. Though given his personality that was certainly difficult.

"I do hope you're actually gonna put up a challenge, I don't want this to be a boring affair. I certainly hope your dear friend Artemis is as feisty as ever. I look forward to breaking that bitch's demeanour." Hestia felt her fist clench. She couldn't see him, but she was sure he was licking his lips at that moment.

"I won't let you lay a finger on her Apollo! Win or lose you hear me!"

Apollo laughed, "Ohh believe me I won't. But that's not to say my children won't. Have you met Lourus? He's taken quite a liking to her. I've promised him that he gets the first go with her. Ohh and since your young captain and he has history, Well…"

Hestia was nearing her boiling point. If it wasn't for them being in an Arena full of people and the head of the guild, she would have beaten him within an inch of his life. Though all she could do was stay where she was.

"You won't get the chance!"

As she said that Royman was finally about finished with his speech.

"Now without further ado. Please wait patiently while our first fighters get ready. He turned around and stared at them both. "Thank you. Please take your seats. Have all your Familia present. I don't need to remind you the punishment for disobeying the rules?"

The two gods nodded and left. Hestia was quick to leave though as she finally eased her clenched fist, she noticed a sharp pain. Looking down she could see a faint amount of blood where her fingers had broken her skin.

"Damn you Apollo!"

A voice could be heard all over the Arena. Could Mikoto Yamamoto and Daphne Lauros please prepare yourselves! You have twenty minutes!

Everyone looked at her meditating in the corner. As she opened her eyes, she gave them a thumbs up and smiled. "Wish me luck everyone."

And that they did. One after another they left the room leaving her to get ready. She made the choice to go quiet. Deciding to stick with her kimono and her trusty Katana rather then pick something from the selection.

"Lord Takemikazuchi please watch over me in this fight."

With that, she headed out the door and towards the arena. A thunderous cheer from the crowd echoed through the walls. She closed her eyes as the light from the outside blinded her for but a moment.

"Whatever happens, I will repay my debt!"

Authors notes.

I'm sorry for the lateness of this chapter. Work is running me to the bone so I've barely had any time to write recently. Given that this chapter is shorter the intended and rather then 3 larger chapters I'm probably going to do 5 smaller ones. Id rather do that then slow progress trying to write it all at once. Schedule wise I'm still behind but looking to get it done sooner rather than later.

Reviews. Okay so first of I'd like to apologise for the last chapter. Given that I've not been doing this regularly I forgot certain plot points and have repeated some in others. This was never my intention and is solely my fault for not taking the time to re-examine a lot of my old text. To explain most of this story has been mapped out in terms of plot. Im about 2-3rds done with pre-planning. For instance, as of this chapter, we are about a quarter of the way in terms of the story so far. Things like Bell and Artemis getting together have already been plotted out. The issue is that doesn't include stuff in between. The problem with this Arc is Bell and Artemis don't see alot of each other, and alot of their development comes after. Her constantly getting into arguments with him was supposed to be a one-off but as stated before that didn't really happen. Blame me as a writer for that one. I must make it clear this is a slow story and in terms of time passed it's only been 3 weeks if that since Bell and Her reunited. Just keep that in mind when considering their relationship at the moment.

Reviews for real this time.

Guest A- Yes yes you are.

OmniscientReader- Haha okay thats not what I was going for but if it had been Hestia then yeah spot on.

Surfysun95- Okay first see above a lot of your comments refer to it. Second in terms of the don't be afraid to get them together thing. their relationship will build as the story progress. What happens at the end of this Arc isn't the be-all and end-all. Have faith in what I've got planned, And let me get this boring annoying ass Arc out the way. Other than that thanks for the comment.

Pix25- She slapped her. I'd say that was pretty much her losing all patience. Again it's been three weeks. How many relationships do you know that get together in three weeks? Don't answer that because I know you will... This may be anime but let's be realistic here haha.

Guest B- Here's more...

Finally

With everything thats happening with this story it's a work in progress. Writing is a pass time for me and I do it for fun. I'm no expert at it and I'm always improving. Anything I write please take with a grain of salt. It's been 2 years of on and off writing or so and 300k words. Im gonna forget stuff and repeat stuff. It happens. I hope you look forward to the future, because as Web keeps saying to me. This isn't gonna end soon. Probably gonna be in the 1mil mark at this rate... Thats scary in of itself.

Also, I'm planning on starting a small side story. Wait wait before you scream bloody murder about me not having alot of time. I said planning. While this story is BellxArtemis I regret not getting to do more with the rest of his Harem. So I'm gonna be doing a different approach to danmachi. I'm not gonna say what it is you'll have to wait for the first chapter to know what!

Other then that I hope your all well and enjoying life. If not then you have my sympathy. Discord Link at the end for those that care and i hope you all enjoyed,
