Hi, guys! I really wanna get to my notes and exciting things, but first I've provided a summary of the epilogue for anyone who couldn't read it!
Summary Of The Ending:
After Besho's death, Charlotte has been isolated from everyone but Shuu, and has become extremely attached to him. Most of her days are spent exercising and trying to study at home, or sleeping. She depends on Shuu to feed and take care of her, but he often forgets, and Charlotte has slipped back into her anorexia, only now, she is her thinnest, and has no desire to get healthy.
Charlotte claims her life is perfect and happy, despite the toxicity in her relationship with Shuu. She mentions that things have gotten violent, but they maintain a fairly peaceful relationship.
This, of course, doesn't last, and things turn nasty when Shuu starts talking about his latest meal—a half-ghoul.
Charlotte voices her concerns about Shuu's meal, and ultimately tries to drug him to keep him from doing it. This leads to a violent argument, leaving Charlotte thrown against the wall with a head injury.
She wakes up to find Shuu gone, and before leaving the house in search of Dory, she takes the remaining MDMA and eats a lot of bleach, dishwasher tablets, and soap. She also falls into glass.
She eventually finds Dory, who is leaving for North Japan that night. The two do some more drugs, and head for the train station.
The two are dancing and having fun on the empty platform, when Dory drops his things on the tracks. He sees the train as moving slowly, so finds Charlotte's terror amusing.
Of course, the train isn't moving slowly and Dory is killed by the train.
Distraught, Charlotte runs away to a nearby park. She tries to call Shuu, filled with a hatred for him, but fails.
She feels hopeless, and knows she can't carry on.
So, she decides to stop, and decides to drown herself.
This time, she promises not to fail.
I also wanna add--about the epilogue--I know it's long, and epilogues shouldn't be long, but honestly?
I'm tired of this story. I wanna put all my focus into the new one and I just don't have the energy to eek this thing out another 2 chapters.
I'm sorry. But I just can't do it.
I actually like this ending. To me, it feels like the death of this story. The death of some of these characters. This means I can welcome their replacements and finally feel as though this story isn't constantly hanging over me.
I hope you can understand that.
I don't think I'll delete this story, but I will archive it on one of my writing platforms. In the meantime, I'm going to remove the story's title and tags.

THE NEW ANIMALS LIVE INSIDE!!!
It has the same name (hence the title change of this story), and features the same few characters.
I have done lil fact sheets and moodboards of all the main cast on Tumblr, but I'll give a lil description here too!
Also, the first two chapters are up right now!
I hope you enjoy them, because heck knows I enjoyed writing them.

I've also included a special extract for you all to read too. This extract is unique, in that I wrote is specifically to tease it. Kinda like a trailer?
This version is literally everything to me. It's one of the cursed things I've ever wrote, but I'm having so much fun and I write for fun, so I'd say it's doing okay.
The most chaotic aspect of the story is probably these social media conversations that I've added between the cast. Most of it is them memeing, but I do like using it to show certain aspects of character. Most of time lighten the mood.
It's literal chaos, (we got mentions of furries, milfs, meta shit, Dumb Ways To Die, a character harassing people with ender dragon porn, there's also a stuffed alien that's actually an Eldritch horror...it's a lot.)
But I love chaos! Don't you?
I also wanted to write this story from a different perspective to the original source material.
See, I have a few issues with Tokyo Ghoul, especially as a LGBTQ person, so naturally, I wanna write a story that isn't homophobic and transphobic, but tbh, I'm only in Tokyo Ghoul for my beloved Shuu Tsukiyama, so that's why this AU is with my ocs.
But another thing I've realised about Tokyo Ghoul, is that it doesn't tell the perspective of the civilians—the normal humans that get caught up in the world of ghouls.
And I like to think that my story can add to that—most of these characters aren't ghouls in anyway, and are caught up in it. They're the ones that have to suffer the consequences of ghouls through governmental restrictions and laws.
The story will also eventually focus on what ghouls are, where they come from, and exploring those areas. This should really kick in in the second story though!
Anyway, here's the description for the newer, more chaotic story:

In a modern world not dissimilar to our own, flesh-eating beings—ghouls—prowl the streets, awaiting their next meal...
Japan has a high ghoul population—probably due to it's own history, but we don't talk about that.
The government has the situation under control—they enforce curfews, strict rules on scientific research, and slightly shady regulations regarding sex workers and the homeless.
Bunny Deverill is a sex worker, and might've gotten under the government's skin in the recent past. And, though she tries to move on, the ghosts of the past continue to call out to her, begging her to face them.
As things start to improve for Bunny, a traumatic event will send her and her closest friends down a spiral of addiction, self-destruction, and cosmic enlightenment.
And it could bring them closer together, or completely ruin them all...

Dumb gay gremlins with five brain cells commit gay crimes and have to get away with it, whilst doing a shit ton of drugs to cope with their crippling grief and the fact that there are aliens everywhere and the government's interested in annihilating the aliens and anyone who tries to find shit out about the aliens. Thus, the gays commit more gay crimes on the government.
That description took me like, five minutes, and it's better honestly.
Now, the characters—the best bit.
As I say, the characters are mostly the same, there's a few name changes, and Charlotte has become Bunny—who's kind of a more refined version of the character, (she's also probably an alien or angel or some ethereal being).
