A knock sounds from the door of my study just as I hear a call of "Lord Sesshoumaru, may we enter?"

"Yes." I reply, very curious as to what they could want. The door slides open to admit Sango and Miroku, whom both settle themselves on cushions before my desk, kneeling in seiza and bowing their heads.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, we are extremely grateful for everything you have done for us, for Kagome. We were unsure if we should ask this, but after much deliberation, we have decided it is better to ask and be denied than not ask and never have a chance at being accepted." Miroku says after a moment, making my brow arch as my eyes dance between the two of them.

"What is it you would ask?" I encourage.

"We were wondering if you would accept us staying here. Permanently." Sango answers, biting her lip slightly in her nervousness. My eyes lock with hers, then flick to her husbands, seeing the serious intent of both.

"You wish to live at the Western Shiro."

"Yes, for the duration of our lives, if possible." Miroku responds.

"You see, we know Kagome, very well. And, we've been watching her since we arrived here over the summer. Neither of us believe that she won't be mating you whenever you both decide to come to the end of your courting and take that step. We don't want to be parted from her long term as we were when she first moved here, away from Edo. So, we'd like to stay. If you'll have us." Sango explains, her hands clenching in her kimono as she meets my gaze squarely.

I match her gaze for several long moments, before I nod once and smirk. "I would be honoured to have such friends of Kagome's stay with us. However, as you no doubt will be expanding your family, perhaps it would be prudent to have a small dwelling built for you on the grounds. Perhaps attached to the back of the gardens?" My mind begins designing a home for the pair and their ever growing family, having thought of the perfect spot to build it off the gardens of the pack wing- far enough to give privacy for all involved, but close enough to be protected.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, I... I don't know what to say. Thank you. That... that would be tremendous." the monk stutters out, bowing deeply to the floor. The slayers stares at me in shock, her mouth open before shaking her head quickly and dropping into a floor deep bow herself.

"I don't know how we'll ever repay you for your generosity, but we assure you, it will not be forgotten or taken advantage of." she vows before sitting up again, a soft smile gracing her lips. "She couldn't have chosen a better partner to share her life with, Sesshoumaru. There is... there is one more thing. We... we would like to name you to be guardians of our children should anything happen to us. You and Kagome."

"We would be honoured, Sango. Though, truly, Kagome would not have allowed them to go to anyone else in such events regardless." I let a small smile form as my thoughts turn to my miko.

Miroku chuckles heartily. "Yes, it is unlikely. We thank you, once again, Sesshoumaru-sama for your immense generosity. I hope we will one day be able to repay even a fraction of what you have given us. We will leave you now, though. I believe there is a miko who will be excited to hear such news."

"Perhaps," I begin, "if you would wait until dinner to share it, so that I may also be present." I request lightly, earning bright smiles from both humans.

"Of course! We'll tell her tonight. Thank you, truly." Sango smiles brightly, bowing once more, along with her husband, before they both stand and leave the room.

I lean back before pulling out a clean sheet of paper and a bit of charcoal to begin sketching out the plans my mind has designed. I do believe that everyone will be quite pleased once it is done.
