Judy smiled standing as Julia Chang and Mike walked into Breadstix, it was the first time Judy had been to the place, she kept hearing about the endless bowls of salad and of course Santana talked non stop about the breadsticks, which were also endless. Brushing her hand over Beth's head as she stood Quinn smiled, the parents had all met briefly at recent gatherings held by the Lopez family "Nice to see you again Judy." Julia smiled hugging Quinn and handing her the purse hanging on the chair.
"Nice to see you too." Judy smiled, exchanging a quick hug the women took the seats on both sides of the baby.
Mike chuckled as Quinn joined him on the opposite side of the table. "She stole my spot, but I guess sitting next to you is okay." Quinn smirked before pushing up on her toes to greet Mike with a kiss.
"I do apologize for my husband not being in attendance, he's working late at the hospital." Julia leaned kissing the top of Beth's head.
Helping Quinn with her chair Mike sat next to her "He lost one of his team to a bigger hospital in Cleveland so until he finds a replacement he's working extra hours."
"We can take him something for dinner." Quinn suggested.
"That would be nice, he will want to hear all about your first day." Julia smiled picking up the menu.
"Quinnie, what's good here?" Judy asked looking over her own menu. "I know Santana loves the breadsticks."
"That's an understatement." Quinn laughed "We usually get the pastas," Quinn said meaning herself, Santana and Brittany "they're all pretty good, you might like the fettuccine alfredo, I thought I'd get the eggplant parmesan and tiramisu."
"Linguine with shrimp scampi is very good." Julia put her menu down to play with Beth.
"Lasagna." Mike picked a breadstick out of the bucket poking Quinn's hand with it, swatting Mike's hand she took the breadstick from him taking a bite.
"Happy?" Quinn showed his the piece of bread held between her teeth, chuckling Mike leaned kissing her cheek.
"Very."
"So how was school today Quinn?" Judy looked up from Beth.
"They gave us packets and supply lists for every class." Mike said since Quinn was still eating the breadstick..
"Mr. Schue tried to recruit new Glee club members in every Spanish class." Quinn said after she swallowed the food in her mouth. "It's still not popular."
"He has sign up sheets in the locker rooms and message board, no one's signed up." Mike explained "We're trying to see if the new quarterback can sing and get him to join."
"More crossover from the sports and Cheerios might help." Quinn shrugged.
"How was first practice?" Julia asked.
"Running, stretching, singing." Quinn chuckled.
"Singing?" both their moms looked confused.
"Mercedes is a Singing Cheerio so instead of practicing the tumbling and tosses she sings... to the babies." Quinn said amused by the whole situation, both the women chuckled imagining Mercedes singing to Santana's belly "Santana enjoys it."
"And what about you boys?"
"Running, stretching, some catching," Mike said, "Coach says this week is seeing what we can do and next week starts the real practices and workouts."
"Lucky you, we only have a few freshman Cheerios so Coach has us working on our routines, Brittany and Santana are helping Tina with the whole flyer business, and we're going to work on the trampoline to get her comfortable with the dismounts." Quinn said before taking another bite from the breadsticks. Beth squealed at the attention from both older women making Quinn smile, she felt Mike press a kiss to her cheek.
"Santana's going to start tutoring us again, Tuesdays because that's the only practice free day." Mike said watching their busser eye the surrounding tables once she recognized him and Quinn, it was what reminded him about Santana.
"Good afternoon." The busser nervously smiled. "May I get your drinks?"
After ordering their drinks they let the busser know they were ready to order their food as well, Mike watched his mom play with Beth some of which he knew it was to check her responses, it wasn't that Julia didn't trust other doctors she just preferred to double check their findings, Quinn smirked she knew it was too. She was happy her mom had someone to talk to and both ladies enjoyed talking about Beth and Julia encouraged the new things Judy was interested in looking into.
Burt eyed the jacket in his hands asking unsure "Are you sure this is something Kurt will like?"
"Yes." LeRoy Berry promised.
"I never know what to buy him, I usually just get him a gift card."
"Can't go wrong with a gift card." Hiram promised, "Now Rachel is a Barbra fan but Bette works too." Hiram handed Burt a DVD.
"She's funny." Burt nodded "Thanks for the help." he smiled at the men.
"No problem." LeRoy waved as they parted ways.
Burt had everything in a simple gift bag because he knew Kurt would like it, he wanted Kurt to know he was proud of him and not because he was on the football team, holding the bag to his son Burt said "I heard you kids had a good day at school and still have enough people for Glee club."
"We do, and two people might join, we'll find out Thursday." Kurt smiled taking the bag from his father, sitting on the couch he opened it surprised.
"The Berrys helped me out, I hope you like it."
"It's gorgeous." Kurt held up the jacket. "And this?"
"Hiram suggested it, and I like Bette Midler she's funny."
"Good evening ladies." Maribel smiled at the duo in her kitchen, Santana was at the stove cooking while Brittany sat watching her. "How was school, I'm going to say not so bad since I wasn't summoned."
"Remember the weenie with a camera?" Santana asked before checking the dish in front of her, Maribel rolled her eyes at the description of the boy but answered.
"Yes, did he cause problems?"
"He kept asking weird questions," Brittany answered.
"What kind of questions?" Maribel asked when Brittany didn't give anymore information.
"How Quinn's doing since she had Beth, when the babies are going to be born, are Mike and Quinn dating, me and Santana." Brittany rolled her eyes "I mean obviously, everyone knows Quinn's fine and the babies will be here when they want to be, and of course we're all dating."
"I'm guessing for the sake of drama he was hoping you wouldn't answer that last one?" Maribel asked Santana.
"If I'd have known that's what he wanted I wouldn't have avoided him all day." Santana admitted.
"So you did answer?" Maribel asked, Santana nodded, Brittany beamed.
"Mami where is that 'go' plate?" Santana asked as she started plated food for herself, Brittany and her mom.
"At your Abuela's but we do have different ones in a picnic basket in the bottom of the pantry." Maribel said taking the plate her daughter offered.
"We have a picnic basket?" Santana asked confused.
"It's old, it's wicker, your father and I used to have picnic dates." Maribel chuckled at Santana's face.
"That is so romantic." Brittany sighed taking her plate from Santana, nodding Santana filed that information away, at the moment she needed the plate for dinner, she was going to take her dad dinner.
Finn grinned at his mom, she'd brought home pizza "So was it a good day, nobody picked on Santana did they?"
"JBI kept following us all around but other than that it was a good day." Finn nodded, "Nobody messed with Santana, and we got a new lunch lady that gave me and Matt extra tots."
"You did thank her didn't you?"
"We did." Finn promised. "They gave us a lot of paper for you to fill out and a supply list."
"So supplies by the end of the week?"
"Yea." Finn nodded grabbing the plates and bringing them to the table.
"Okay, I'll take care of it, now tell me about your day." Carole smiled waiting for his run through.
Puck had picked his sister up from the neighbors and had made them tv dinners, she was telling him all about her day while he filled out both of their paperwork. "I made a new friend, it's a new boy named Stevie and he has a sister named Stacie."
Grinning because he recognized their names Puck told her "That is cool Squirt because you know what, I know their brother Sam and I invited him to the car show with us, and Brittany too with her sister Fallon." Puck chuckled when his sister squealed. "So where's your supply list?" Puck asked looking through all the papers.
"Mom said put it on the fridge."
"Okay." Puck nodded. Their mom would be home in a little bit and then he was going to go shopping for school supplies, his and hers, he was trying to help his mom out and not just Quinn, he'd bought his own school clothes, gave his mom money for his sister's school clothes which had made her argue with him and then accept it crying. He'd bought his sister a purple backpack with skulls on it, his mom hadn't been thrilled about it but his sister had loved it and the little leather jacket he'd bought her.
