Chapter 51 – Finding Order 66
Luke entered in the kitchen and lean himself against the wall, watching Ines, putting the plates in the wash machine, while rubbing her 7 months pregnant belly, she had her hair tied into a long braid. 2 months had passed, and a lot had passed. One of the systems, the Bodi system that was under Empire influence was now free and had a representative in the Senate, but it was a long journey to free that system, and the New Republic army had to be there, including Han, Chewie and Luke. Of course Ines was nervous to see him leave, and he didn't want her to feel like that, especially being at the time almost 6 months pregnant. They thought it would be quick, like the battle of Endor, but it took 3 weeks, especially with Admiral Hickory, held hostage some of the Rogue Pilots, and Han. Luke knew that Leia would be nervous, but Ines was with her and he was able to convince him to turn himself in.
When they all returned 1 week ago, they were all received with applause and cheers. Leia ran to Han and they didn't care as they kissed. Luke smiled at that. He knew those two were living together for a while. Sooner he was sure another wedding would be plan for sure. But when he saw Ines, his heart beat fast. Her belly was a lot bigger than when he left. Resting his hand on her now prefect round belly he smiled when the baby kick at the sound of his voice. She looked beautiful.
Now they were about to go to the Jedi Temple, where he knew he was getting closer to the day the Jedi were attacked, but they decided to visit the old Lady first. Ines wanted to thank her and Luke wanted to give her some credits. Even if she didn't want any, he knew he had to repay her for saving their lives.
Right now she kept talking to their baby, and smiled once in a while.
"What it is?" he asked her, approaching her
"Our little Ben is with hiccups, poor thing" she said grabbing his hand and putting in her belly. Luke smiled when he felt the poor baby jump every time he hiccup. His heart melt.
"Can't wait to hold him in my arms" He told her
"Well in two months we will finally meet him" she looked down to her belly.
"Are you sure you want to go to those levels?" he asked. In her condition, he was not happy to take to those parts of the city, but he also knew she wanted to thank her and he also didn't forget about what she told about his mother.
"Yes Luke. I need to meet the woman who save our baby's life"
"And yours too." he said "I couldn't imagine my life without you two" he said still feeling the hiccups of his son underneath his hand.
"Than let's go" she said.
Nodding, he grabbed her hand and they left their apartment and head towards the lower levels.
It was the first time Ines were in those parts of the city. Luke had being there plenty of times with Han and Chewie, and they told everything that was there. Resting her hand on her belly, she looked around.
"He's still with hiccups?" he asked smiling at her, making her look at him and nod.
They reached the home of the Lady. It was lunch time so probably she was inside.
Luke knock on the door. He was getting anxious. He was there also because he wanted to know information about his mother.
The lady came at the door and smile when she recognized him.
"You came" she said and looked at Ines and to her belly "And you must the wife. Please come in"
Looking at each other, they entered.
The house was humble, not to big but clean.
"Please sit down" the old lady point to a couch "Do you want anything to eat or drink?"
"No thank you, we already had lunch. Besides we don't have much time." Luke thanked, as he helped Ines sitting down, following her.
"We are here to thank you for giving the herb to my husband. If it wasn't for you, my baby and I were not be here by now"
She smiled at Ines and pat her belly.
"How far are you?"
"7 months" she replied
"Soon you will have your baby in your arms. And I did what I had to do. Like I said I couldn't say no to you" she looked at Luke. "I know you are here because of your mother"
Luke looked at Ines and then back at her and nod.
"I never knew anything about my mother. I never met her. When you told me that I was the son of Queen and Senator of Naboo, that was the first information I had about my mother. I want to know more about her"
The Lady smile and sitting down she started
"I'm from Naboo, her home planet and the Emperor as well"
"Palpatine was from the same planet of my mother?" Luke was shock about that information.
"Yes he was."
"What was my mother's name?"
"Padmé Naberrie. But when she became Queen with 14 years old, she started to use the name Amidala. When she married your father she started to use the Skywalker name too"
Luke gasped at that name. His suspicions were correct. Ines kept holding his hand,
"How did you know my husband was her son?"
"I lived in a village, by a lake called Varykino. Your mother used that place many times to spend some time. It was there your parents married as well you and your twin were conceived. They lived there a lot, being a remote place, was perfect for they to live without anyone know they were together. Jedi weren't allow to married at the time"
Luke nod. It was one of the rules he changed.
"How do you know I'm a twin?"
"6 months after your mother died, your great grandmother stayed there. Sadly someone wanted to know about the children she was caring and your great grandmother was the only one who knew your mother was caring twins. She was killed because she choose to hid that information. I knew it because she trusted me and she told me, Padmé was caring twins and they didn't die with her, even when she was buried, they made like the baby was dead too. That is why I decided to leave Naboo and came here." she continue "When we got the information, 4 years ago, that the Death Star was destroyed and the rebel pilot's name who did it was Skywalker, I knew right away it could only be the son of my dear Queen. And when we got the news that the Emperor was dead, I knew you had something to do with it. I knew who you were, the other day when you came with your friend and that Wookie. When he called you Luke, and I saw the lightsaber I knew it was you. Besides you look like your father in looks, but you are more like your mother in personality."
Luke smiled at that.
"How did she looked like?"
"She was very beautiful. In fact, you remind me of her" she said looking at Ines "The long hair and the eyes. You two look perfect for each other. That baby would be beautiful for sure"
Ines smiled. She liked that Lady.
"Well I can't thank you enough for what you did" Ines said
Luke nod.
"I think we need to go. We still need to do something in the Temple" and standing up he helped Ines stood up too. Looking at the Lady he took a small pouch and gave to her "I told you I would bring credits. I know you said it wasn't need but please accepted it. You save the two people I love the most in this galaxy. Please"
She smiled and accepted and gasped to see so many credits
"This is too much son"
"You deserve it." he smiled
"Luke, your grandparents are still alive. You still have family in Naboo. I'm sure they would love to know you exist and they will be great grandparents"
Luke smiled
"Thank you"
Ines hugged her
"Thank you. I will not forget what you did. When my baby born I will want you to meet him"
And saying their goodbyes, they left the place, heading towards the temple.
Hours passed. Ines was in the Jedi Temple archives with R2, while Luke decided to check something on the other part of the temple.
They were searching the year he was born to see if they could know any information that it was not erase or rewrite from the empire.
Ines was sitting, with her belly getting bigger, she couldn't stand for much time.
R2 beeped making her smile and see the little translation she was caring to understand what the little droid was saying.
"I'm okay R2. It just this little fella is getting to big and I need to sit down for a while" she replied while the droid beeped again. She couldn't wait to meet hers and Luke's baby boy. She hope he would have his father's eyes that she loved so much.
Pressing some buttons to see what was inside, she saw what looked like a small compartment in some of the many shelves in the archives. Actually if someone didn't look from a certain position, it was barely visible.
"What is that?" she asked and standing up, she pressed it and a little locker came out. Inside was what looked a small brown disk.
"This look like an info disk. My father used this these type of disk to record things he wanted, or messages." Putting on the table, she pressed the little black button and a holo appeared. R2 beeped and she looked at it. There was the Emperor talking to a young guy who was kneeling in front of him. She knew who that guy was:
"You're fulfilling your destiny Anakin. Become my apprentice. Learn to use the Dark Side of the force" the Emperor spoke
"I will do whatever you ask"
"Good"
"Just help me save Padmé life. I can't live without her."
"To cheat death is a power only one has achieved but if we worked together, I know we could discover the secret"
"I pledged myself to your teachings"
"Good! Good The Force is strong with you. A powerful Sith you will become. Henceforth you shall be known as Darth Vader"
"Thank you, my master"
"Rise. Because the council did not trust you my young apprentice, I believe you are the only Jedi with no knowledge of this plot. When the Jedi learn what has transpired here they will kill us along with all the Senators"
"I agree. The council's next move will be against the Senate"
"Every single Jedi, including your friend, Obi Wan Kenobi is now an enemy of the Republic"
"I understand master"
"We must move quickly. The Jedi are relentless. If they are not all destroyed, it will be a civil war without end. First I want you to go to the Jedi Temple. We will catch them off-balance. Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough with the dark side to save Padmé."
"What about the other Jedi spread across the Galaxy?"
"Their betrayal will be dealt with. After you killed all the Jedi in the temple go to the Mustafar System. Wipe out viceroy Gunray and the other Separatist Leaders. Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy. And we shall have…. Peace"
Ines gasped, when the holo changed. This time it showed an army of Stormtroopers, lead my Luke's father, entering the Jedi Temple. She knew what was about to happen. She saw the Jedi being killed, one by one by the troopers. Many of them were young kids. Then the holo changed and what she saw made her nauseous.
"No" she gasped
She saw the grandfather of her child, entered inside a room, where children were hiding.
"Master Skywalker, there are too many of them. What are we going to do?" a young kid, not older than 7 asked, as Darth Vader ignited his lightsaber.
The room spin and she tried to hold herself.
Luke entered in the room:
"Babe look what.." sensing Ines stress he looked at her and dropping the book he was held, he ran towards her, grabbing her in time. "Ines, sweetheart what's wrong?"
Ines looked at him and all she could do was crying. The pain was too much for her. Grabbing Luke, she buried her face on the base of his neck. Luke hold her closer to him. He could feel she was in pain, but not physically pain. What was happening to his wife?
Ines found a recording and found out how Anakin became Darth Vader and he was the responsible for the killing of the Jedi. What will be Luke's reaction?
