Hey look at that, managed to update this story in less then a year! Go me! XD
But in all seriousness I'm glad I was able to get this chapter done and thanks as always to me best friend Petrus for the proof reading. I was having trouble deciding on what direction to take this to make it REALLY stand out and Petrus helped me come to a decision.
But what exactly is it? Well you'll just have to see for yourself~
It was a bright summer day and we currently see our favorite white haired wielder of the Omnitrix hard at work. Working on what exactly? Stopping bad guys? Helping people from some sort of crisis? Taking down the IRS? Nope, he was currently working on painting the upper wall of a restaurant while on a ladder. "Alright Lincoln! I'm all done down here!" His girlfriend Wendy told him from the lower part of the restaurant, the tall girl finished her painting. "How are you up there?"
"Just about done myself," Lincoln told his girlfriend as he finished painting up the last blank spot on the wall. Just then Lincoln looked in the direction of the audience and smiled, deciding to give them the details of what was going on. "Oh hey everyone! Today's the big day. The grand opening of my dad's restaurant, Lynn's Table." Lincoln gestured to the restaurant which turned out to be owned by Lincoln's dad himself. "To think, at the beginning of summer he still had his boring office job, nd now his dream of opening his own place is finally coming true. But let me tell ya, it hasn't been easy getting here."
"Yeah tell me about it," Wendy wiped the sweat off her forehead as Lincoln came down from the ladder. "The summer heat didn't make it any easier,"
Lincoln nodded in agreement as he continued looking at the audience. "Well first dad had to find a place and luckily an old fish restaurant left to rot was available and for pretty cheap. And it was easy to see why as that place was a complete wreck. But luckily dad had all of our help to fix the place up. Lynn helped wrecking the old walls, Lana was able to get the plumbing working, Lisa helped dad with the health inspector, and Wendy was able to handle all the heavy lifting for things like drywall and furniture."
"Then your dad had to hire some people and that turned out to be a real…experience," Wendy sheepishly smiled with a sweat drop. Expecting just normal and regular interviews for a job really turned into an experience as quite a few…interesting people stopped by to apply. "Still don't know why that actress lady showed up…"
"Something tells me she wasn't all there in the head…" Lincoln said slowly as he sweat dropped as well. "But thankfully, thanks to us, dad was able to hire some competent people. His best friend and band mate Kotaro as a waiter, his assistant chef Grant, the Burpin' Burger's two-time employee of the month. And he even hired Ja'Orre himself as the restaurant greeter given his approachable personality."
"BEST DAY EVER!" The two kids heard Ja'Orre shout from inside the restaurant.
"Ah-hem," Wendy pretended to clear her throat as she batted her eyes at Lincoln with a playful smirk, "You're forgetting someone~"
Lincoln laughed a little as he playfully shoved Wendy, "I was getting there," Lincoln told Wendy who simply giggled, "Dad also hired Wendy as a waitress, she asked her mom if she could help out with the restaurant and she was ok with it,"
"So now I'm a proud employee of Lynn's Table!" Wendy gave an eager smile as she pumped up her fist, "I'm so excited to start working!"
"And to eat the leftovers?" Lincoln smirked as she froze a little, knowing what Lincoln was about to refer to, "I remember the taste test we had, especially how rather eager you were,"
"…Your dad's cooking his delicious ok," Wendy said with a light blush and a bit of a self-conscious tone, "Don't shame me!"
"Relax Wendy, we weren't much better," Lincoln chuckled good naturedly as Wendy crossed her arms and pouted cutely. "But since we took care of all that, the last things left before the grand opening are a few last-minute touches."
Just then the door to the restaurant opened and Leni stook her head out and looked at the young couple, "Lincoln, Wendy, get in here," Leni told the two with an excited smile. "Dad's gathering everyone!"
"Coming!" Both Lincoln and Wendy eagerly went inside to see what Lynn Sr had to say on this amazing occasion.
Once inside everyone, consisting of Rita, the Loud kids, Wendy, Ja'Orre who was wearing a suit and fedora as his human disguise, Grant, and Kotaro, all gathered around Lynn Sr as he stood in front of a tarp that kept everyone from seeing the main part of the restaurant. "Hey everybody, I just wanted to say thanks for helping me get this place ready." Lynn Sr then took a deep breath as he removed the tarp and presented to everyone the shiny completely fixed up restaurant. "Ta-Da!"
Everyone 'oooooed' at the restaurant that looked more like it was completely brand new instead of just a fixer upper. "I just wish I could have made it smell like citrus," Lisa said as she held an empty bottle of cleaner she made herself. "But someone seemed to have used it all up somehow,"
Meanwhile Ja'Orre averted his eye and whistled casually, 'Just stay silent, and no one will have to know you thought it was fruit juice,'
"Now there's only one thing left to do, and it's kind of a biggie; publicity!" Lynn Sr then dragged over a wagon filled with stacks of flyers for his restaurant. "Now, I had a truck load of flyers made for you kids to distribute all around town, nothing fancy just advertising "great food at a great price", I was thinking that could be our motto."
Lynn Sr then handed each of his kids and Wendy a stack of flyers so they could pass them all over town…but the kids soon frowned as they looked over the flyers. "Uh, Dad," Lincoln was the one to speak up as he held up a flyer to his father, "I think there's a typo."
Lynn Sr's eyes instantly widened after hearing this and grabbed the flyer from his son, "What?" The head chef let out as he quickly skimmed over the flyer he commissioned. "'Come on down to Lynn's table for our gah... gland opening?!" Sure enough, on each and every one of the flyers instead of grand opening it said gland opening.
Lisa winced a bit as she looked over the typo herself. "Yeesh, it sounds like you're offering treatment for lymphadenitis."
Lynn Sr said as he looked down at the wagon, feeling everything falling about at the seams just because of one little typo, "What am I gonna do? There's not enough time to reprint these." Lynn Sr lamented, no one would come to his restaurant if they didn't even know it existed. "Oh, ah, this is bad, this is a disater, no one's gonna show up and we'll be totally sunk."
As Rita went to comfort her husband, a lightbulb went inside Lincoln's head as he formed one of his famous ideas, "Hey Dad, I've got an idea; why don't you let us take care of the promoting?" Lincoln proposed making all of the sisters quickly smile and nod in agreement. "I'm sure we can come up with something."
"Yeah! We can help daddy!" Lola was quickly on board.
"Of course, I'd be gland to do it." Luan joked to help relieve the tension.
Lynn Sr smiled that his kids are willing to give it their all to help out their old man, filling him with hope once more, "Ah, kids, thank you; you don't know what this means to me, and I just know you'll think of something brilliant," Lynn Sr told them all, making them grin happily in their dad's confidence at them. "when you put your heads together, you always do."
"Welp, I'll go ahead and recycle these." Lisa said as she went up to the wagon.
"Ah, sweetie, we don't have a recycling bin yet." Lynn Sr informed his genius daughter.
"Oh, I see," Lisa then pulled out a clipboard and wrote something down on it, "That's another infraction."
Lynn Sr simply face palmed in response.
With their objective clear, all the Loud kids made it back to their house and all gathered up in Lori and Leni's room for a sibling meeting to decide on what to do to get the name of Lynn Sr's restaurant out there. Lori banged her high heel on the stand to get all eyes on her. "Okay, so let's all pitch our ideas on how to promote Dad's restaurant, then we can vote for our favorite. Who wants to go first?" Immediately, Lincoln raised his hand, "Why am I not surprised?"
Lincoln smiled as he stood up on top of Lori's bed so that everyone could look at him as he pitched his idea. "Picture this; airing on every TV in Royal Woods, a commercial for Dad's restaurant." Lincoln pitched to everyone as he brought up a chalkboard, projector, and projection sheet to help explain his idea. "The angle, 'Let a man used to cooking for thirteen handle your huge party, big groups encouraged, buses welcome'," Lincoln then shut off the projector and took a bow, "A-thank you, a-thank you."
Next up was Lisa who used the chalkboard to write down a bunch of graphs and statistics. "According to my research, and personal experience; there's nothing people love more than... Bottomless baskets of fries!" Lisa proposed her ideas as well as a flyer advertising this, typo-free as well. "I propose we offer them with every entrée."
Next up was Lori who presented everyone pictures of her and Bobby taken in a photo booth. "I say, we install a photo booth, it would pull in literally every teen in Royal Woods."
And so all the siblings gave their ideas, each one thinking of something unique and different from Luan's birthday party idea to Lily's finger paintings. When the time came to vote on the idea…there was a bit of a problem. "...and one booger smeared vote for Lana's plan." Lori announced as she finished counting off the votes…with each sibling all having one vote making them all groan in response.
"It's officially an eleven-way tie. Did everyone just vote for themselves?" Lincoln asked with all of his sisters nodding in confirmation. "Well, I think we should go with my commercial idea. No offense, but... it's the most thought-out plan."
"Excuse me, hours of research went into my fries proposal." Lisa claimed while glaring at Lincoln.
"How are you gonna get your commercial on TV anyway, Stinkcoln?" Lynn asked while poking Lincoln's chest harshly. "Huh? Did you even think of that?"
"Yes I did Lynn!" Lincoln smirked as he had everything all planned out, "Clyde's dads happen to have a connection at the TV station and Wendy happens to be great at editing footage, and if all else fails I'm sure my alien heroes could pull a few favors in the news studio."
"Using your aliens? That's totally cheating!" Lynn claimed as she and Lincoln glared at each other.
"You're just mad that no one liked your idea." Lincoln said right in Lynn's face, the tension in the room really rising.
"Yeah, well, I liked it!" Lynn yelled with crossed arms.
"You also liked the taste of your own burps." Luan spoke up as she pointed at herself. "Now what about my plan?"
"Forget that!" Lana yelled as she pushed Luan out of the way. "I say we use mine!"
"No!" Lola snapped at her twin. "Yours stunk big time!"
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK!" Lana yelled as she got right into Lola's face.
"MAKE ME!" And just like that, the entire room broke out into a fight. A huge dust cloud started up as the siblings all kicked, punched, and bit. All of them wanting their idea to be the one picked and thinking it was the best to get their dad's restaurant name out there.
"Alright that's enough!" Lincoln yelled after feeling his leg get bit on. Reaching for the Omnitrix, he quickly slammed it down and decided to just go with whatever alien it would give him. All of the sisters whelped as they were blinded by a bright green flash as armor started to cover Lincoln's body. "NRG!" All of the sisters frowned at seeing Lincoln utilize his alien transformations during this moment. "Alright everyone! No more fighting!" Lynn then tried to kick NRG only for her to end up squeaking in pain and holding her foot. "You deserved that."
"That's it," Lucy frowned as she started heading out of the room. "I'm done with this conversation."
Lori then spat out a piece of Lola's sash that she bit off during the fight as she glared at all her siblings. "Well, I'm done with you guys BEING IN MY ROOM!" Lori ordered everyone to follow Lucy's example and get the heck out.
Everyone angrily did so, NRG struggling a bit to get himself out the door, as the transformed boy looked at everyone retreating into their respective rooms. "Guy's wait!" NRG tried calling out to them. "What are we gonna do for the grand opening?"
All his sisters did was slam their doors shut leading NRG to sigh, "Oy-vey…" The radiation alien put his arms to his armored hips and puffed his chest out. "Well they can give up, but this hero never goes back on his word! Dad's counting on me and I'm gonna come through, sisters or no sisters. I can make my commercial without them and when busloads of customers show up to Dad's restaurant, he'll have me to thank. All I need now is a cameraman and an editor." NRG was about to go in his room and call Clyde and Wendy up…only to be stumped by his door. He was barely able to squeeze out of Lori's door and his door was smaller than that, so he wasn't gonna fit through in this form. "Right after I change back…"
THE NEXT DAY
At Lynn's Table, Lynn and his employees and wife were rushing to get things ready for the grand opening, positive his kids thought of a way to get people in here today. "Okay team, T-minus five minutes until the grand opening." Lynn Sr told everyone as Grant heated up the stoves and ovens while Kotaro put on his waiter uniform and Ja'Orre could be seen at the greeting desk. "By the way, I ordered too much ginger, so really push the Lynn-ger chicken."
"You got it chief!" Kotaro gave a salute to Lynn Sr.
"Ok Ja'Orre, you know what you need to do," Lynn Sr smiled as he walked up to the ghost alien in disguise. "When people get in here, greet them with your usual positive attitude and show them to their table."
"And if they try a dine and dash, rough em up!" Ja'Orre followed up with as he rose up his hands and expose his sharp claws. "Anyone tries that they gotta get past me!"
"That's my guy!" Lynn Sr patted Ja'Orre's back as the doors to the restaurant open with Lincoln, Wendy, and Clyde all coming inside with eager smiles as they brought in a portable TV. "Hey kids! Just in time for the grand opening! Oh! Did you come up with a way to build up publicity?"
"You bet we did dad!" Lincoln said excitedly, looking forward to showing his father this. "Me, Clyde and Wendy took care of the whole promotion problem, we made you a commercial."
"I did the filming!" Clyde chirped.
"And I took care of the editing!" Wendy added with a grin. "We had to wait for you all to leave before we could film it but it was worth it!"
"And you'll see what I did," Lincoln smirked as he checked the Omnitrix. "And according to my watch…it still doesn't tell time. Clyde?"
Clyde checked his watch, that actually told time, and smiled as he went to turn the TV on. "Should be on right about…now!" Clyde then turned on the TV with Lynn Sr and Ja'Orre quickly turning their eyes to it. When Clyde turned on the TV, it showed Lynn Sr's restaurant along with Four-Arms standing in front of it.
"Hi everyone, I'm sure you all know me as Four-Arms, one of the many alien heroes of Royal Woods." Four-Arms introduced himself while pointing his upper right thumb at himself. "Well I'm here today to save you from the poor service and seating at other restaurants by introducing to you, Lynn's table!"
Four-Arms gestured to the restaurant before the camera changed to show the inside of the building with Four-Arms sitting at a table and enjoying a nice hot meal. "Not only are the seats big enough to fit me, but they're big enough to sit as many people as you need. Don't believe me, then why don't you ask my friends here?"
The camera then panned to show another table with Echo Echo, the lens zoomed in on him.. "Lynn's Table is the only place where me and my friends can all eat together at one table!" The Echo Echo said before the camera zoom out to reveal twelve more Echo Echo's. "Is that right boys?"
"Sure is!" All the other Echo Echo's said in unison.
The camera then panned onto another table that had both Heatblast and Big Chill sitting together, with the spot Heatblast was on covered in tinfoil. "Not only is it spacious, but the food is at a price that can't be beat and the taste is out of the this world, and we should know all about that!" Heatblast then took a bite of his piping hot meal and hummed at the flavor. "And the food is piping hot and ready to eat the second you get it,"
"Plus nice cool dessert to sooth any sweet tooth," Big Chill said as he enjoyed some nice cold dessert. "Icy sweet."
The camera then panned to the parking lot outside and showed a black bus with orange circuitry pulling in and easily able to park. "And to show we can handle big groups, feel free to park your buses full of people right here and we'll serve all of them," Upgrade said as he popped his head out from the top of the bus.
The camera then panned to the front door where it showed Feedback entering the restaurant. "Let me tell ya, nothing beats getting a nice meal that feels like something cooked right in my own home after a day of fighting evil," Feedback grinned and rose his fist up, using his other hand to pat his stomach. "Stopping bad guys really works up an appetite ya know,"
"And there you have it folks!" Four-Arms appeared again like in the beginning of the commercial, the camera zoomed out and showed Four-Arms in front of the restaurant with all of Lincoln's aliens standing behind him. "If you want a place to eat that meets all your needs, then come to Lynn's table. And eat like a hero!"
The commercial then came to an end, the kids turned off the TV and looked up at Lynn Sr with grins. So, what'd you think?" Lincoln asked, all the kids eager to hear Lynn Sr's opinions.
"Uh, I think it was..." Lynn Sr looked indecisive at first…until breaking out into a giant smile. "Amazing! Using your aliens to help advertise all the parts of my restaurant, I can only imagine how long it took to edit them all in there." Luckily none of his employees heard Lynn Sr say those aliens were Lincoln.
"Yeah believe me, it wasn't easy, especially when the watch gave me a different alien then the one I chose." Lincoln sweat dropped, a look of annoyance briefly coming across his face. "But luckily we managed to get it done before the sun started to go down!"
"And it wasn't hard editing everything together," Wendy informed the head chef of the restaurant. "I taught myself how back in Tokyo when I was seven,"
"How did you get it on TV?" Lynn Sr was curious as to how they got their commercial on the waves. "Did you ask them as one of your aliens?"
"Nope! That was me!" Clyde informed the Loud father. "You know Patchy Drizzle, the local weatherman? My dad plays racquetball with him."
"Thanks Clyde!" Lynn Sr gave Lincoln's best friend a pat on the back. "There's a free appetizer with your name on it."
"Yum!" Clyde smiled and rubbed his stomach before taking the TV and beginning to leave. "Well, I'd better go home and change into my formal wear for the opening."
"And I better get my uniform on!" Wendy said as she went to go put on her waitress uniform.
Lynn Sr then looked down at his son with a smile, "Thanks again for this kiddo," Lynn Sr gave his son a quick hug before asking, "Did the girls help too?"
Lincoln rolled his eyes and frowned a bit, "Psh, no, they all bailed after we couldn't agree on an idea." Lincoln then crossed his arms behind his head, "But luckily I just needed Wendy and Clyde to help out,"
Lynn Sr sighed at this, but still smiled at the fact that there was still something done, "Well I guess that's just how it goes sometimes," Lynn then put on his chef's hat and took a deep breath. "The grand opening's gonna be smooth sailing, so I better get ready for the customers." Lynn Sr then clapped his hands to get the attention of all his workers as they, minus Wendy, all gathered up together. "Ok guys this is the big moment, time to give Royal Woods the best darn restaurant its ever seen! Pound it!" Everyone then brought their fists together to hype themselves up. "Now blow!"
"Ka-boom!" Everyone said in unison as they opened up their hands. Everyone then got into their places. Kotaro grabbed a stack of menus and Grant made his way to the kitchen and Ja'Orre was behind the welcoming desk. Lynn Sr then faced the doors to his restaurant and grabbed an open sign and took a deep breath. "I hate to start without the girls, but the show must go on."
Putting the sign on the door, Lynn Sr officially declared his restaurant open for business. Lynn Sr then opened the door to see if anyone was here yet. And sure enough, right as he opened the door a big bus filled with people. "Son, the commercial worked." Lynn Sr told his son with a grin before heading to the kitchen to help Grant with the orders.
The bus driver then opened the window and asked, "Where can I park my bus?"
"I'll handle it." Lincoln eagerly said as he tried to get outside and to the bus only for Rita to stop him by grabbing his shirt.
"Ah, nice try. Not unless you're Upgrade." Rita scolded her son before heading up to the bus driver and patted the bus. "Alright, are we working with a hydraulic brake system here?" The driver smirked and gave a thumbs up as all the people in the bus stepped out.
"Aw man…" Lincoln sighed out as he went inside the restaurant and put his hand in his jacket pockets, "Can't blame a guy for trying,"
"I'm reeeeady~"
"Huh?" Lincoln looked and quickly found himself freezing and blushing brightly at what he saw. Wendy was in her waitress outfit. It consisted of a light blue dress with an apron over it that was white with black frilly edges around it and a ribbon on her collar that was a darker shape of pink with yellow highlights. She also had roller skates on and finally a nametag with her name on it.
Wendy giggled as she saw Lincolns face. "Pretty cute huh?" She asked as she twirled around a bit to really show off to him. "What do you think?"
"You're…wow…" That was all Lincoln could get out.
"Aw, thank you," Wendy giggled as she skated up to the welcoming desk and grabbed a stack of menus. "Well I better get to work!"
And just in time too as the group from the bus all entered Lynn's Table. "Hello all you lovely people, and welcome to Lynn's Table grand opening! Might I say what a pleasure it is to have you all with us today!" Ja'Orre greeted the group that entered with his usual polite and positive tone that many of the people in the group seemed to have appreciated. "Just follow me and I'll show you all to your table, like our commercial guaranteed we can sit you all together!"
"Hey wait," One person in the bus group asked as he pointed to the bottom of Ja'Orre. "How come you're not touching the floor?" Everyone else in the group quickly took notice of this as well after it was pointed out.
"Uuuuuuuh…" Ja'Orre nervously tried to think of something. "Internet…"
"…Eh, seems legit." The group were all happy with that answer and let Ja'Orre take them to their table.
Right as Ja'Orre led the group to the table, another bus pulled up making Lincoln grin. Lincoln smirked mischievously as he reached for the Omnitrix, "Mom did say as long as I was Upgrade," Lincoln then started searching for the Upgrade silhouette but was halted by a hand grabbing his wrist and preventing him from using the Omnitrix, this hand belonging to Wendy who frowned at Lincoln.
"Lincoln…" His girlfriend said in a scolding manner.
"Ok, ok, let my mom handle it got it," Lincoln rose up his hands and deactivated the Omnitrix. Wendy then skated away and made a 'I'm watching you gesture' before getting ready to serve the new bus of people.
…But unaware to everyone at the restaurant, on top of a nearby building, a mysterious figure in a dark brown hoodie was watching them. His face was hidden by his hood and he said nothing as a cockroach crawled on his shoulder.
"Chipity-chop, a carrot's a root, yeah, I'm cookin' a root, yeah, it's out of the ground, but, I washed it off, and chipity-chop chop, just slice." Currently Lynn Sr was having the time of his life as he was busy cooking up the various orders he was getting. So far the Grand Opening was going great as there was already plenty of people eager to get some of his cooking. And the orders he already made, people seemed to really enjoy it. As he was chopping up vegetables, Grant was busy working the stove. "a chipity-chop, chipity-chop chop, a slice, slice, slicety-Ow! My finger!" As he cut his finger, Lisa came up to him holding a rolled up flyer under her arm. "Lisa! Sweetie, there you are."
"Father, I come bearing the solution to your promotional problem." Lisa told her father with a smile as she adjusted her glasses.
"Oh, did you do your own promo too?" Lynn Sr asked. While Lincoln's promo already got his name out there, he wasn't gonna turn down extra help.
"Yep, I took it upon myself to make an offer to potential customers," Lisa explained to her father as she unrolled the paper she had and showed off her chart for bottomless fries. "Bottomless baskets of fries, with the purchase of an entrée."
"That's a great idea, short stack!" Lynn Sr smiled widely, thinking that Lisa's idea was sure to bring in even more customer.
"Apparently," Lisa rolled her eyes a bit as she remembered her sisters and brother's reaction to the idea despite all her research. But luckily her dad saw the logic and successfulness in it, "I've just escorted in four tables worth of patrons, all clamoring for endless potato goodness. "Start your fryers."
"You heard her Grant, start up the fries while I gets the spuds! Wow, two promotions at once? Sure got some creative kids." Lynn Sr told his assistant Chef as he took out a sack of potatos and quickly got peeling. "A peel-ity pie, a peel-ity pie, a this guy is making some frenchy fries-Ow, my finger!"
Right as Lynn Sr cut his finger yet again, his comedian of a daughter Luan walked into the kitchen. "Hey dad, guess what?" Luan asked her dad with an eager smile.
"Chicken butt?" Lynn Sr said in response with a grin, knowing this joke quite well.
But to his surprise Luan shook her head in response, "No, no no, this is no time for jokes." Ironically coming from Luan. "I have to tell you about this genius promotion I did!"
"You did a promotion?" Lynn Sr just couldn't believe all the work his kids were putting into making his restaurant popular.
"Uh-huh, and it's sure to bring in a ton of customers." Luan guaranteed her dad as she explained what she did. "I spread the word that if you celebrate your birthday here, you get a free dessert, and the whole staff sings you a special birthday song."
"That's a fantastic idea, honey!" Yet again Lynn Sr really liked the idea for this promotion. Most restaurants did the free desert thing but none he knew put in the effort to sing a song to the birthday boy/girl.
"And, our first birthday's ready for a song." Luna told her father as there was already a kid celebrating their birthday outside. So taking her father's hand, she started dragging him out to the main part of the restaurant. "Come on, I'll teach you the words on the way. You too Grant!"
"Coming!" Grant said as he ran after them.
And so as Luan, Lynn Sr, Kotaro, Grant, Ja'Orre, and Wendy all went out to sing their birthday song to the kid, the chaos only escalated from there. Lincoln's promotion was perfect and really got customers in, especially since so many in Royal Woods were fans of his heroes as he could hear some people in the restaurant talking about them, and Lisa's promotion was really good, and Luan's promotion might slow things down from time to time but seemed good to Lynn Sr.
However, soon the rest of his kids came in with promotions and the head chef soon came to be overwhelmed. Lori brought in a photobooth which led to a bunch of teens coming in…only ordering water. Lana allowed people to bring in their pets. And Lynn's which really made Lynn Sr have to rush his orders with her promotion being if you don't get your food in 15 minutes is free. And it just went on and on with each of his kids.
Amidst the chaos, the brown hooded figure from before entered the restaurant and walked up to Ja'Orre who was at his post wiping sweat off his forehead…despite the fact that ectonurites don't sweat. "Busy day huh?" He asked the ghost in disguise in a raspy voice.
"Ah!" Ja'Orre let out in fright at the unexpected voice. "Oh, sorry about that. Didn't see ya there, and yeah, busy would be the understatement of the galaxy."
"Ah well, don't worry about it so much. I'm sure it'll clear up, things always seem to work out for people around here." The mystery man reassured Ja'Orre while keeping his hands in his pockets. "Like me for instance, it's just me. Just set me up with a table, no gimmicks. I'm just a man who wants some food."
"Well that's reassuring to hear! You're right, things will work out! Thanks buddy!" Ja'Orre said, his usual positivity back in action. "Let me show you to your table good sir!"
"Thanks, I really appreciate that," The man said as he started following Ja'Orre. As he followed the disguised ghost, the cockroach he was seen with before crawled out of a hole on his hoodie and chirped something to the man. "No, not yet. We wait for our chance to strike." The man whispered to the bug which quickly hid back inside his hoodie. "Don't worry, revenge will be ours."
In the kitchen, all of the Loud kids were there all clamoring at once. Lynn Sr finally had enough of all this and the chaos all their promotions were causing and grabbed a ladle and pot and banged them together to get his kids to quiet down. "Everybody, stop!" Lynn Sr said, making them wince at the tone of his voice that he rarely brought out. "These promotions are just too ding-dang much!"
"Sorry dad," Lincoln apologized to his dad, starting to see for himself all the problems that were starting up. "We didn't know everybody was doing their own thing."
Lynn Sr sighed as he rubbed his temples a bit. "I just wish you kids had worked together to come up with one idea, that I could have handled," Lynn Sr told his kids as they all started to feel guilty. They were all just too stubborn to agree on an idea that wasn't their's. "But now there's just too many things hittin' me all at once."
And then as if on cue the door to the kitchen opened…right on Lynn Sr's face.
"Mr. Loud!" It was Grant who quickly came into the kitchen in a panic. "I think Liam's pig is out for my blood! Wait where is he?"
"Uuuuuuuh…" All the kids let out as they pointed behind Grant.
Grant rose a brow in confusion as he looked behind him and gasped as he saw that he smashed his boss with the door by accident. Quickly closing it, Lynn Sr fell to the floor. "And there's another one…" That was the last thing he said before falling unconscious.
"Ooooooh…I am so fired…" Grant gulped a bit in worry.
Lisa then went up to her father and quickly checked his pulse. "His vitals are fine, but when he wakes up, he'll have a considerable contusion." Lisa explained to everyone as they all looked at the ground guiltily.
"Dudes, I feel terrible." Luna said with a sadden tone as Rita came up holding Lily and Wendy skating in with a sadden look on her face.
"Me too, Dad's opening night is a disaster, and it's all our fault." Lori let out, knowing that if her and her siblings all came together like they should have none of this would be happening.
"Well, with your father out of commission, I don't think we can keep the restaurant going." Rita told everyone as they all sighed in response. "I'll go tell the customers they have to go home." Before Rita left, she quickly put a pot on her husband's head to act like a helmet. "Just to be safe."
As all the kids continued looking down in guilt, Lincoln quickly went up to his mom as an idea came to him. The Loud boy wasn't about to give up now, he and his sisters made this mistake, and they were gonna fix it on his honor as a hero. "Mom, wait, maybe it's not too late to save the grand opening."
"How are we gonna do that?" Lana asked as Lincoln's sisters, Rita, Grant, and Wendy all went over to him.
"By working together, just like dad wanted us to do in the first place." Lincoln said with a determined tone as everyone started to smile, liking the sound of that. "Grant, Mom, Lori, Leni, Luan, Lola, think you all can handle the cooking?"
"You got it, I literally know all of dads recipes by heart," Lori told Lincoln as she, the other sisters he called out, and Grant all gathered together and were ready to cook.
"Nice! Lana, you and your animals help out with the dishes." Lincoln asked his tomboy younger sister who gave a thumbs up as some of her animal friends gathered around her. "Good, Luna, Lynn, and Lisa, you help Wendy and Kotaro wait tables."
"I believe we all should suffice," Lisa grinned with Lynn and Luna giving thumbs up.
"Alright Leni and Lucy, you help Ja'Orre at the front desk, he could use a hand," Lincoln gave orders to the last of his sisters, at least the ones that would be able to help out in someway, who both nodded in response.
"What are you gonna do Linc?" Luan asked as the only one without a task so far was Lincoln himself.
"Well, someone's gotta break the news to the people out there that we can't honor all our promises." Everyone winced a bit at that, knowing that would be the hardest job to do and that the people out there probably wouldn't be happy about it. Lincoln then smirked as he looked at the Omnitrix. "And I have an idea for how to soften the blow. I'll be right back."
Everyone but Grant smiled, knowing what Lincoln was going to do. But before he could leave the kitchen, Wendy grabbed his arm. "Hey," She said to get his attention. Before Lincoln could say anything she gave him a peck on the cheek. "Good job,"
"Thanks," Lincoln smiled at his girlfriend before going outside. As soon as Lincoln left the kitchen, he winced as he saw and heard all the chaos that was happening in the main part of the restaurant. He needed to put a stop to this and fast. Cautiously looking around, Lincoln hid inside a potted fern that no one seemed to notice. And thankfully no one noticed a green flash coming from inside the fern.
And surprising everyone in the restaurant except for Lincoln's family, flipping out of the fern, was none other than, "Echo Echo!" The sound alien got the attention of everyone at the restaurant as they all gasped in seeing the hero, a lot of them smiling at seeing that the aliens really were involved in the restaurant and those weren't just some guys in costumes in the commercial. "Alright everyone, may I please have your attention. If you all do not quiet down I will not hesitate to scream."
Meanwhile the man in the hood looked at Echo Echo. "It's time…"
Everyone, knowing what happened when Echo Echo screamed, quickly shut up so they wouldn't be on the other end of a sonic scream. "Thank you very much. Now, as you all know me and my alien hero pals all came together to advertise this restaurant for my good friend Lynn Loud Sr." Echo Echo told everyone as all eyes were on him. "Now I know you all came because of all the promotions this place offered, but the thing is, Lynn's son and daughters all came up with those without telling him, and on their behalf, I must tell you that they won't be able to honor all of the promises." A lot of the people groaned and voiced displeasure at that, but Echo Echo went on with the one thing they would be able to promise every single day with this restaurant. "But if you're willing to stick around; there is one promise I can vouch that they will honor, Lynn's great food at a great price."
Everyone in the restaurant looked at each other…and smiled. They were ok with that, and if one of Royal Woods' heroes vouched for them, then it had to be true.
Clap…clap…clap…
Just then the clapping of one single person got the attention of everyone in the restaurant as they all looked to the source. Standing on his chair was the man in the brown hoodie who slowly clapped once Echo Echo was done talking, his hands in his sleeves. "I must say, that was a very heartfelt speech, very heart-warming stuff," He complimented the alien as everyone looked his way. "Just one thing if I may? It's nothing big,"
"Well, what is it?" Echo Echo asked with a raised brow.
"I just want one thing, just one itty bitty thing…" Suddenly a pair of eyes could be seen from the darkness his hood casted over his face. Bright yellow eyes burning with hate. "Revenge!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Before anyone could react the hooded stranger's hands came out of his sleeves and quickly grabbed a nearby woman by her neck, his hand revealed to be a sickly yellowish-green in color and very insectoid looking.
"Hey!" Echo Echo yelled as everyone else in the restaurant froze in fear as the Loud family all gasped. First their promotions messed up the grand opening and now a villain is attacking! Just their luck!
"Don't move unless you want your little grand opening to be stained red." The mysterious man threatened as he started to squeeze his hostage's neck, making her breathe heavily and panic. "You and I, have some unfinished business to attend to," Using his other hand, which was shown to be just as insectoid as the other one, the man pulled down his hoodie and revealed his identity.
Echo Echo, as well as his family, all gasped as they saw who this was.
Clancy.
But he was drastically different than before. His skin, which used to be blue, was now a sickly green all over. His eyes were a bright yellow and his teeth were fanged, and he had a pair of wasp-like antenna on his head. "Aw what's wrong? Not happy to see your old pal?" Clancy asked with a sick and twisted grin.
"What…happened to you?" Echo Echo asked in a disgusted tone as he looked over Clancy. It was like he was half-human half-bug.
"Ran into someone while in the big house," Clancy begun explaining his transformation. "Offered to give me a bit of an upgrade. He said this is the best he could do with what he had in prison, but it was enough to help break myself out!"
"Hmph, breaking yourself out and coming right to me huh?" Echo Echo asked with a smirk as he narrowed his eyes at the bug man. "You're a real cliché you know that right?"
Clancy merely glared at Echo Echo as he used his free hand to tear off his hoodie and reveal his body which just served to gross more people out as it was also that sickly green color and he had exoskeleton-like armor on his chest and shoulders. Finally a pair of insectoid wings spread out on his back. "So long as I can destroy you, I don't care." Clancy then smirked as he looked at his hoodie. "And I know you said the restaurant couldn't honor all its promises, but I hope it can keep the one about holding lots of patrons, because I brought some friends along with me."
Clancy then gestured to his torn off hoodie and everyone screamed as a horde of cockroaches crawled out of it. But that wasn't the worse of it as bugs came in through the vents ranging from ants, to wasp, to spiders. Clancy's army of creepy crawlies all got to invade Lynn's Table as all the people screamed and stood on their chairs to try and avoid the bugs. "Hope this doesn't cause a problem with the health inspector," Clancy darkly chuckled.
"Family unit, quick! To the janitor's closet!" Lisa told her family and Wendy, Grant having ran away in panic due to having a massive bug phobia, as they were all still inside the kitchen which, thankfully, was still bug free. "I've prepared for such an occasion."
Meanwhile with Echo Echo, the sound hero took a deep breath as he got ready to attack. "SONIC…SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!" Unleashing his signature scream right at Clancy, the bug man screamed and covered his ears, causing him to release his hostage, as his bugs went crazy due to both the sound and Clancy losing control over them from losing focus
With Clancy and the bugs stunned, Echo looked to everyone and pointed at the door. "Quick! Everyone get to safety!" Echo Echo ordered as they all didn't hesitate and quickly started running out the door to get away from Clancy and his bug army. Echo Echo then created two copies of himself. "We'll squash this guy!"
"Yeah!" The two Echo Echo's said in unison.
"Grrrr, lucky shot!" Clancy yelled as he quickly flew towards the Echo Echo's and managed to grab two of them by their heads with the third one being able to dodge out of the way. "Let's see you handle this!" The bug man then proceeded to fly out the restaurant by breaking through the window.
"Aw come on!" Echo Echo prime complained after seeing Clancy break though the window. "It took us forever to fix this place up!" But Echo Echo was soon cut off by the loud sound of buzzing, Echo Echo looked behind him and saw a large horde of angry looking wasps. "Hehehe, don't suppose you're here for the honey lemon tea?"
"BOMBS AWAY!" Before the wasps could charge at Echo Echo, suddenly something that looked like a grenade landed in between the sound alien and the horde. The grenade turned out to be a gas grenade as it released a white colored gas that, once it hit the wasps, immediately killed the horde of insects and sent their corpses to the ground.
"Woah, what was that?" Echo Echo asked as he looked to see his family and girlfriend standing in the restaurant all decked out what looked like a bunch of bug killing gear ranging from more of those gas killing grenades, to bug zappers in the shape of shock batons, and large fly swatters.
"Well when dad built the restaurant and adding in our, and by that I mean your, track record with villains showing up I made an effort to prepare for any villain that could attack," Lisa explained as she adjusted her glasses. "What you saw was my special bug killer with gas that has no effect on any other species and eliminates all bacteria carried by bugs. All specially made to deal with Clancy."
"Wow, I gotta see what other gear you made," Echo Echo was genuinely curious to see what kinda stuff Lisa had prepared for villains like Animo and the Forever Knights. Narrowing his eyes, Echo Echo saw all the bugs still invading the restaurant and were closing in on them. "Ok, you guys take care of the bugs here. I'll handle Clancy!"
"You got it bro!" Lynn said as she tossed a gas grenade up and down.
Back outside, Clancy was flying high above Royal Woods and holding the two Echo Echo's he had by their heads, his hands covered their mouths so they couldn't use their sonic scream on him. "Go ahead and try all you want, but you're not gonna get a peep out!" Clancy said with a sick grin, happy to see the clones of his enemy helpless while in his grasp. "Now then, me and my friends have plenty of catching up to do with you! And I'm positive the third in your trio will be after us in no time!"
"MMMMMM!" The two Echo Echo's tried to yell but their mouths were still muffled as they tried to punch and kick Clancy to get him to let them go. But his exo-skeleton armor was too tough for them, especially since they weren't the power type of alien. Clancy simply laughed at the alien's futile attempt to escape him, but this ended up biting him in the butt as one of the Echo Echo's managed to reach Clancy's face and poked his eyes.
"GAH!" Clancy let out as he instinctively let go of the Echo Echo's to hold his eyes, sending them falling. Clancy growled viciously, but then watched as the two Echo Echo's screamed as they fell down at high speeds to the ground and started chuckling evilly. "Well I suppose that works too,"
"Wait! I'm coming!" Just then Echo Echo come in onto the scene riding a scooter that he…borrowed, yeah that. He managed to catch up right in time to catch his two falling clones. "Whoo, that was a close one,"
"What took you so long?!" Echo Echo 2 yelled as three was currently not trying to throw up, "We nearly became sound wave pancakes!"
"Sorry, hot wiring a scooter is harder than you think," Echo Echo prime told his two clones as he kept driving forward, his eyes occasionally moving over to Clancy. "Better stop complaining and get to screaming because here he comes!"
"Get back here you brats!" Clancy yelled as he lowered himself near the ground as he tried to catch up to the alien and his clones. "Come my brothers! Let us eliminate these pests!" In response to Clancy's call, the Echo Echo's heard buzzing from all over.
"Uuuuuuuh…chief, spotted something on the portside," Echo Echo three said nervously as number two was stunned silent. Continuing to drive, Echo Echo prime looked back and his eyes widened in horror as he saw a tidal wave of wasps flying forward behind Clancy, acting as his personal army. And the wasps themselves had reinforcements as they carried around ants and spiders for extra back up.
"WATCH OUT!" A civilian yelled as everyone in town screamed and quickly hid indoors. "ITS BUGMAGEDDON!"
"Alright you two, get ready to scream!" Echo Echo prime said as he sped up to escape the bug man and his bug army. "We gotta find a way to squash these bugs!"
"Head to the hardware store!" Echo Echo 2 said as he and number 3 kept their eyes on the bugs. "They're bound to have a ton of bug killing products!"
"Hardware store! On it!" Echo Echo prime then started to go in that direction.
"You'll be nothing more than food before you get there!" Clancy yelled as his cheeks puffed up as he started to regurgitate something. Clancy proceeded to spit out a large slime ball from his mouth that narrowly missed hitting the Echo Echo scooter and proceeded to burn through the road like a powerful acid.
"Ew gross!" Echo Echo 2 let out before he and number 3 took in deep breaths. "Rapid…sound…BLASTER!" Echo Echo's 2 and 3 then started to blast out rapid waves of sound at Clancy and his bug army to try and shake them off. When the sound waves hit the bugs, it disoriented them and made them fall out of the air. But this only stunned them as they quickly started flying again.
And Clancy was able to react quickly enough to avoid the soundwaves and kept spitting acid balls at the clones. "Ugh, this isn't working!" Echo Echo 3 yelled in frustration as he looked around for anything that could help them shake the bugs off. Echo Echo 3 then held his hand out and grabbed something they passed by, this being a newspaper that was left on a table outside a café they passed. "Here! Having some breaking news!" Echo Echo 3 threw the newspaper at Clancy in the face. But it didn't slow him down a bit and it just made Clancy growl at him angrily. "IT DIDN'T WORK!"
"What made you think it would work?!" Echo Echo 2 yelled as he slapped number 3 upside the head.
"Ow!" Echo Echo 3 yelped in pain. "Newspaper plus bug equals squash! It's logic!"
"Look just shut up and follow my lead!" Echo Echo 2 said as he stood up on the scooter. He then grabbed and held number 3 like a gun, aiming his clone's head at the bug army after them. "SOUND WAVE GUN!" Echo Echo 2 then proceeded to force sound waves to blast out of Echo Echo's 3 mouth like a machine gun.
This got the job done a lot better as many of the bugs were disoriented and fell to the ground rapidly twitching. "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Clancy yelled as the sound waves finally managed to hit him and caused him to crash onto the road.
"Hahahah! Eat it ya freak of nature!" Echo Echo 2 smirked as he let go of Echo Echo 3, who groaned and rubbed his head. But right as he was celebrating his victory, the three Echo Echo's heard a familiar beeping sound and looked to their respective chest and saw the Omnitrix symbol blinking red and was about to turn them all back and get rid of the clones. "Uh-oh…"
"Look! The hardware store!" Thankfully Echo Echo prime was quickly approaching their location. Putting the scooter at full speed, Echo Echo prime narrowed his eyes as he tried to beat the clock. "Come on…come on!"
"Hey Linc! Sorry just woke up from my nap so how's the grand opening go-WHAT THE HELL?!"
CRASH!
Echo Echo proceeded to crash through the door to the hardware store. And just in time as well as right as he crashed through his 2 clones disappeared and Echo Echo turned back into Lincoln. "Ow…my butt…" Lincoln groaned as he rubbed his rear end that he ended up landing on. Looking around, Lincoln saw that no one was here, and the lights were off, greatly confusing him. "What the? Why is there no one here?" Looking around, Lincoln saw some sort of paper on the ground and picked it up. Reading it, Lincoln saw that the reason the store was closed was because of the grand opening of his dad's restaurant. "Well at least they were excited for my dad's place, but I better get to work."
Lincoln quickly got up and started searching for the section that had all the bug exterminating supplies. Once he found it, Lincoln grinned as he cracked his knuckles. "All those years of watching Home Alone every year during Christmas is gonna pay off."
Back with Clancy, the bug man groaned as he rubbed his head. "Ugh…I'm gonna tear that kid limb from limb when I get a hold of him!" Clancy's eyes glowed a bit as he looked to his fallen bug brothers. "All of you, get a hold of yourselves! The hardware store is around the corner, we'll corner the brat there."
All of Clancy's bugs started to get up and came together based on their species. All the wasps grouped up to formed a giant wasp made of thousands of little ones with the ants, spiders, and cockroaches doing the same, giving Clancy four giant bug soldiers.
It didn't take Clancy and his bug brigade long to reach the hardware store, easily getting through the smashed door and seeing the scooter the Echo Echo's were riding. "He's gotta be around here somewhere, spread out and look for him," Clancy ordered with his bugs quickly obeying. "But leave him alive if you find him, I call dibs on taking his life."
And so Clancy and his bugs went around looking for Lincoln. Moving anything he might be hiding behind or under. Peaking inside the various vents, and some of the bugs opening up paint cans to look inside to see if Lincoln was hiding inside them…for some reason. With the giant spider, it walked into the section where the bug killing supplies were and noticed it was stripped clean of everything.
Creeeeeeak…
The spider then heard a loud creaking sound and looked to see an open door labeled employees only. Going up to it, the spider saw it led to the basement of the store and went down, thinking that Lincoln was hiding down there. When the giant spider made it down to the basement, it saw it was dark and just held a bunch of supplies as well as a furnace, looking like it was some sort of bomb shelter. When the spider went down more, it felt something tug at its leg and looked down to see a trip wire.
Triggering a trap, six cans of bug killer were sprayed right at the spider. All the spiders that made up the giant spider hissed as they were sprayed with many of them falling off causing the giant spider to lose form. But that wasn't the last of it as something from above spilled onto them. Looking up, the spider saw that it was…a gas container.
"Welp, time to burn," The spider saw and heard Lincoln as the boy stepped out of the shadow…holding a box of matches. Lighting one of them, the white-haired boy threw the match at the gas covered spiders and quickly the flames spread and started burning all the spiders. If the bug spray wasn't killing them, this fire definitely was as it didn't take long for the spiders all to burn to a crisp.
"One giant bug down," Lincoln said as he grabbed a bucket of water and used it to put out the flames and leave nothing but a pile of burnt spiders. "Four to go!"
Lincoln then went over to a wall and proceeded to climb inside a vent. Right in time too as Clancy and his remaining bugs all went downstairs, seeing both the light and smoke from the fire coming out of the door leading to the basement. Clancy's eyes widened in horror as he saw the pile of dead charred spiders. "NO!" The bug man yelled as he fell to his knees to mourn his brothers. This mourning soon turned to rage as he growled viciously as he looked and saw the open vent. "AFTER HIM! HE MUST PAY!"
The giant ant responded as they all split up back into a bunch of little ants so they could crawl inside the vents. With the swarm of ants going through the vents, they were having trouble locating Lincoln. But as they went deeper into the vents, the group seemed to get smaller and smaller for some reason. The last bunch of ants looked back and noticed their brothers are unable to move. And it was too late for them as the last bunch found themselves stuck to the floors of the vents by a bunch of sticky paper. "Ya know, you're making this way too easy." Lincoln then made himself known as he crawled out from the corner in front of the ants as they all went in a frenzy to try and get to him but couldn't due to the paper. "And that makes 2 down," Lincoln then pulled out 2 cans of bug killer, specifically meant for ants, and went to unloading it all on them.
Back with Clancy, the bug man and his wasp and cockroach were impatiently waiting for the ants to return with Lincoln. "What's taking them so long?!" Clancy yelled as he stuck his head inside the vent in hope of seeing anything. But the bug man was instantly repelled back as he clutched his neck and started violently coughing. "What…is that?!" Clancy yelled in between coughs before his eyes widened in horror. "Bug repellent…" Clancy now realized what happened. Combined with him no longer hearing the voices of the ants left him with the truth that Lincoln had taken down more of his insect brothers.
"HEY!" Suddenly Lincoln's voice spoke up from the upper floor as Clancy and his two remaining giant bugs went to the stairs and looked to see Lincoln smirking down at them. "Looking for me~"
"GET HIM!" Clancy snapped, his voice filled with nothing but rage and hatred. "I DON'T CARE ANYMORE! IF YOU CATCH HIM KILL HIM! OUR BROTHERS MUST BE AVENGED!" Lincoln chuckled and closed the door, though not all the way, as the giant cockroach took the lead and stormed up the stairs and, despite it still being opened a little bit, busted the door right off its hinges.
But this proved to be the cockroach's undoing as a large bucket that was set up on the top of the door fell down and spilled a strange substance onto the cockroach. At first the cockroach shook it off and continued forward to get Lincoln. But after only a few more steps cockroaches started to fall off the formation and quickly dying and the other cockroaches soon followed as they all eventually feel to the floor dead, joining their insectoid brothers in the grave.
When Clancy made it, soon followed by the giant wasp, they came onto the horrible sight of the pile of dead cockroaches. "But…but how?!" Clancy yelled as his eyes glowed brighter as he looked up and saw Lincoln sitting on top of a shelf and smirking down at Clancy and his remaining minion. "What did you do?!"
"Boric acid." Lincoln answered bluntly making Clancy gasp and grit his teeth. "An instant cockroach killer. So what does this make the score? Three to zero?"
"You may have gotten the upper hand a few times," Clancy began as his wings started vibrating due his burning rage and hatred. "But you're all out of tricks and-GAH!" Clancy was then cut off by Lincoln throwing down a paint can at his head.
"Guess your gonna have to chase me now huh?" Lincoln asked as he stood up. Before Clancy could answer, Lincoln jumped from the shelf he was on to the next one, making sure to tip the shelf he was previously on.
"Get him! Don't let him get away!" Clancy ordered his wasp as the giant bug formation took off after the white head. Right in time as the shelf began to fall onto Clancy. "Ah crapbaskets…"
"Come on get me you bee reject!" Lincoln taunted the wasp, the bug seemingly understanding his comment as it buzzed in anger and really sped up its chasing. "I've got a body that's just waiting to be stung!"
As Lincoln avoided the massive stinger the wasps all created together, Lincoln made sure to knock down all the shelves he was hopping across to try and smash the wasp. While some shelves grazed the wasp it never slowed it down. Lincoln then ran out of shelves to hop on and landed on the floor and backed up against a wall with the giant wasp slowing flying towards Lincoln with its stinger out. "Ok, ok, you got me. I just have one thing to say…" Lincoln began as his hand made its way to a switch attached to a generator. "Zap-Zap!"
Flipping the generator on, a bunch of bug zappers turned on and greatly illuminated the store. The wasp turned to the wall of bug zappers and found itself drawn to its tempting light and started hovering over to it. As the wasp flew towards the zappers, Clancy freed himself from under the shelf and looked on in horror as the last of his brothers flew towards their death. "NO! STOP! DON'T FALL FOR IT!" But Clancy's words failed to reach out to the wasp as it flew right into the zappers and in an instant all the wasps that made up the giant wasp fell to the ground charred and dead.
"And thus, that leaves one," Lincoln crossed his arms and looked towards Clancy. "Alright bugsy, we can do this the easy way, or the hero way. What do you wanna go with?"
Clancy quickly stood up and formed his insectoid hands into tight fists. "You…you're gonna pay." Clancy then started walking towards Lincoln with the intent to kill. "So what are you gonna do now? I may be one with my brothers, but I'm still part human. Your little tricks aren't gonna work on me!" Clancy then tried to slash at Lincoln but the white head quickly ducked and rolled away from the bug and reached for the Omnitrix.
"Alright, it's hero time!" Lincoln tried to activate the Omnitrix, but his confident smirk fell as he saw the Omnitrix was still in the red. "Dang it…" Looking around, Lincoln quickly grabbed a fly swatter off the wall and aimed it at Clancy. "Take this!" Clancy just gave Lincoln a blank expression as he hacked up a loggie at the fly swatter and instantly dissolved it. "…Should have seen that coming. Alright that leaves plan C…BOOK IT!" Lincoln then tried to run as Clancy kept trying to spit acid at the white head.
"You can't get away from me now!" Clancy yelled in between his spit attacks. "You lose this time brat!" Clancy then took off into the air and charged at Lincoln and tried to claw him but Lincoln was able to ducked just in time though Clancy did managed to chop off a few hairs. "You'll be bug food by the time I'm done with you!"
As Lincoln ran away and dodged Clancy's attack, he kept slapping at the Omnitrix and tried to get it to work. "Come on how are you not recharged yet?" Lincoln yelled in frustration at the Omnitrix. "One time! Is it too much to ask that you work just once?!" But at his last slap, the Omnitrix finally popped up. Unfortunately, Lincoln ended up slamming it down and not getting to pick what alien he turned into as he was covered in a bright flash. Lincoln saw the world around him get bigger as he saw what he turned into. "Gray Matter?! You gotta be kidding me!?"
Right as he said that, Clancy stepped up to Gray Matter and smirked down at the tiny alien and picked him up, Grey Matter not able to run away in time. "Well lookie what we have here," Clancy chuckled evilly as Gray Matter gulped in fear. "I was hoping for a little meat, but I guess a bite sized snack will do nicely."
"Hey kid, mind telling me what's going on?!"
"This isn't really a good time Ra'ad…" Gray Matter shivered in fear as he saw Clancy licking his lips. "I'm no appetizer!" Gray Matter then opened his mouth and took a big bite at Clancy at the part of his hands that was still flesh.
"OW!" Clancy let out as he let go of Gray Matter. Clancy growled as he saw Gray Matter quickly escape, using the fallen shelves to give himself cover. "You can run but you can't hide!"
Gray Matter quickly crawled under one of the shelves as Clancy started to use his acid spit to melt away all of his potential hiding places. "Come on Lincoln think! Think!" Gray Matter whispered to himself, trying to think of a way to take down Clancy and as Gray Matter it wasn't gonna be easy.
"Ok so let me get this straight, this guy invaded your dads' grand opening after you and your sisters screwed it up?"
"Yes! I get it, we screwed up!" Gray Matter hissed quietly as he started moving around so he'd be harder to find. "Now how about some ideas to get us from becoming bug chow?"
"What about those bugs zappers?"
"He's never gonna fall for that!" Gray Matter told him as he narrowly avoided some acid spit that almost gave away his location and melted him. "He saw the wasp die from it!"
"But what if you overload the generator? If you make the power surge you could potentially overload the zappers and create a massive discharge that should be able to paralyze Clancy! Wooooooah! Did I just come with that? I'm so smart now! You should become this alien more often."
"Hmmmmmm…" Gray Matter hummed in thought as he held his chin and simulated Ra'ad's plan in his mind. "That could work! All we would need is some sort of insolation to protect us from the electrical blast." Looking around, Gray Matter saw just what he needed. A big yellow rubber glove that should be able to fit his entire body. "Bingo!"
"Grrrrr…" Clancy growled as he spat another spot on the floor and still couldn't find Gray Matter. "That kid only has so many places to hide, he's gotta be around here somewhere."
"I'm right here ya overgrown grasshopper!" Gray Matter yelled, signaling to Clancy where he was. Clancy looked to see Gray Matter messing around with some of the wires in the generator with a rubber glove next to him. "Get a load of this!" Gray Matter then finished up his work on the generator and quickly hid himself inside the rubber glove.
Clancy rose an eyebrow but simply smirked evilly and walked forward, thinking this would be an easy kill. But soon the electric generator Gray Matter messed with started glowing red and radiating with heat. "Huh?" Clancy then looked to the wall covered in bug zappers which started to glow bright before-
BOOM!
All the bug zappers exploded as they released a powerful burst of electric energy that instantly hit Clancy. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Clancy yelled as he was violently shocked with enough power to expose his skeleton. After a few moments, the electric blast finally ceased and a now charred, but still alive, Clancy fell to the ground unconscious.
"Ah the scent of roasted bug," Gray Matter commented as he crawled out of the rubber glove. "Ya know that's a delicacy in some countries."
"Yeah I'll just stick with pizza thanks."
"Now all that's left is to turn this guy in to the cops and make sure my dad's restaurant's reputation isn't ruined from the start," Gray Matter held his chin in thought as he tried to think of ideas. The tiny alien then smirked as something came to him. "And I think I have just the idea, just need to call up Ja'Orre."
LATER THAT DAY
"This is Katherine Mulligan, here at Ace's Hardware store with a breaking story." Currently the newswas on at the Loud House with the family, Ja'Orre, and Wendy watching it. It was about the arrest of Clancy but there was a little extra to it. "Today we have police taking into custody of what appears to be some sort of half bug half man, according to authorities this man identifies as Clancy who had kidnapped council woman Rebecca earlier this summer. After invading the grand opening of the restaurant Lynn's table he was brought here and taken down thanks to the aid of one tiny hero!"
Katherine then brought her hand up which had Gray Matter sitting on it. "Thanks for the introduction Katherine," Gray Matter thanked the news woman before turning to the camera. "First of all, I'm happy to put back this criminal where he belongs and will continue to do so with criminals new and old. Second of all, despite the…interruption, me and all my alien friends still support Lynn's restaurant. Even if it can't honor all the promises of the promotions his kids made, I know it's a great establishment."
"Well I must say that is awfully nice of you to say," Katherine complimented the alien with a genuine smile. "I must say I was there right before the attack and the food was honestly some of the best I ever had,"
"Well I'm glad you think so," Gray Matter smiled before looking at someone off camera and motioned them to come up. "Now some words for my good, good friend Lynn Sr everyone!"
The camera then moved to showed Lynn Sr himself, only with a strange blue glow around his body. Thankfully no one noticed this and 'Lynn Sr' smiled at the camera. "First off I would like to apologize for both the attack and the chaos that came before it," 'Lynn Sr' said, his voice a little different from normal. "But despite everything, I will make it my mission to provide this town with delicious food at affordable prices, and will also support my alien friends in their mission to protect our town!"
"Thank you very much good buddy," Gray Matter said as he and Lynn Sr saluted at each other.
"Well you heard it here folks!" Katherine said right to the camera. "Not only are we still under the watchful eye of the alien hero time, but them and Lynn's table are in full support of each other. I don't know about you at home, but I know where I'm gonna be taking my lunch breaks from now on!"
And with that, the news story came to an end and everyone watching smiled at the positive reception they got from it, but none more so than Lynn Sr, "Wow, I can't believe what all went down while I was out!" Lynn Sr let out as he turned to his family and pulled out his phone. "But wow, look at all the positive feed back we're getting! Looks like having a super villain defeat associated with the restaurant really gets your name out there!"
"And thanks to my special bug killer we won't have to worry about potential bug induced diseases." Lisa bragged a little as she crossed her arms. "You're welcome."
"And Ja'Orre, wow you did a great impression of me!" Lynn Sr compliment their ghostly housemate, revealing that Ja'Orre was possessing Lynn Sr during that inverview. "How did you do it?"
"It's all about getting into proper character my good sir," Ja'Orre told him in a fancy British accent.
"Well I couldn't have done any of this without you guys, bring it in here!" Lynn Sr then started a massive group hug with everyone in the room, all of them smiling and happy over a successful day and grand opening. "Now, I was thinking; since you guys were such a big help, maybe I should name a few dishes after you."
Everyone grew excited about that and started naming off food items based around themselves. After a day of a chaotic opening, a buggy villain attack, and news interviews, it was nice to relax and have some fun.
And there you have it folks!
It was a lot of fun writing Clancy again, especially since he only has 2 appearances in canon, especially with his really cool abilities. And his mutation, though only half mutated in this instance as opposed to the canon finale where it just show up outta nowhere.
It turned out a lot longer then I thought but I'm really happy with how it turned out.
So remember to fav, follow, and leave a review and stay tuned for...
"The Ultimate Weapon."
