Previously On Canon Distortion..
The NOL made their first move into their attempts to "Liberate" the 1st free city of Otsu from the clutches of the Otsu Four. However their actions were thwarted when they failed to assassinate their target, Professor Caroline Patricia Smith in her laboratory in the top quarters of Otsu. Now knowing they must flee to the safety of Professor Kokonoe, Makoto and the others plan their escape. However what they don't know is while the Zero Squadron is present in the city, Tsubaki Yayoi herself was present as well, ready to do her part in spreading the NOL's mission.
And now the continuation of Canon Distortion..
Leaving Otsu, that was the main goal for Noel, Hunter, Caroline and Makoto. Thus in order for them to escape the clutches of the NOL, The Otsu four's assistance is required. Thankfully for Noel and Hunter, Makoto just happened to have deepened her friendship with them as her preemptive effort to find a way to escape had just paid off as they waited in front of what seemed to be Otsu's Red Light District.
"T-They better have planned us an escape route and not a place to… Do the thing..." Hunter muttered as Noel was as red as a beet as she couldn't believe where she was. Here she was, a young woman standing around a sex district as she had to shield her eyes. Hunter couldn't help but nod his head, understanding her embarrassment as Makoto looked at him with a slight tilt to her head. "I am pretty sure they wouldn't be sending us to a place like this for no good reason you guys. Trust me. This place would be the last place the NOL would think to search the four of us."
Noel was about to ask why but when she slowly pried her eyes to look at Makoto, she immediately saw something that made her close her eyes tightly as she turned Hunter's head forcibly. "Ow! Noel you're hurting me!" Hunter said, surprised by Noel's sudden strength as this intrigued both Makoto and Caroline as they looked behind them to see what was a common sight. A group of men sampling the products in front of them which often included women that were available for sale.
"You know… the more I look at stuff like this, the more I realize I kind of have become desensitized to this sight." Makoto said as she couldn't help but watch as a man slammed his rod as hard as possible, making the woman in front of him moan in pleasure as Caroline gloomed. "I would take a man from the Red Light District if it means I can finally have a boyfriend." Caroline said as Makoto scratched her head.
"I kinda understand why you want a boyfriend… but maybe when we are not about to die or wanted by the NOL." Makoto explained as Caroline scratched her head, understanding the current situation as she gave Makoto a nod. "Maybe stay close to Hunter Noellie.. and don't go tilting his head to the side. he's not that unfaithful that you wouldn't trust him now." Makoto said as Noel blushed hearing that, Hunter's head finally spared from being accidentally snapped in two as he mouthed a thank you to Makoto that she simply smiled in acceptance for.
"In any case, Let's go and meet with Jasmine. She's apparently the one that the Otsu four had asked to help us get to the transport that will extract us." Makoto explained as Noel and Hunter couldn't help but become concerned hearing that. "Ummm if I may… This Jasmine person… is she." Before Noel could finish her question, Makoto simply nodded her head as Noel couldn't help but shiver hearing that. "Don't worry. She's a good person. Every Otsunian is. it's just her job that's all." Makoto explained as this helped to slightly ease Noel's thoughts as Makoto could tell the Red Light district was not for an innocent person like Noel.
"In that case… let's just get going before the NOL does decide to show up here. I don't want to cause these people unnecessary trouble even if I want to." Hunter said as Makoto simply nodded her head and gestured for the others to follow her. At this point, the Red Light District was sort of her playground, a district she knew very well as much as that may sound disgusting to say. If there was going to be one place that the NOL wouldn't check as strictly it was going to be Otsu's sex district.
A question did linger in Makoto's mind however, Why did the Otsu four decide to ask a sex worker of all people to assist them? Does Jasmine's place have a secret walkway that Makoto wasn't aware of this whole time or is there another reason entirely. Regardless, Jasmine was apparently the person they needed to talk to to get out of their current predicament and thus the only person they could rely on at this point as the group stuck close to the alleys, mostly to avoid being slowed down by the crowd.
"Do you think you can give us a short summary on this Jasmine person. Just so I know how I should act around her is all." Hunter said, having to make sure he was clear and it was strictly business as Makoto couldn't help but notice how self conscious Hunter was being around Noel as Noel herself couldn't help but giggle a bit at Hunter's choice of words which was just a thin veil to hide her embarrassment.
"Well let's just say that she's umm… she's capable is all." Makoto said as she didn't know if she should mention how good she made her feel on the bed, even if the current situation they weren't in was not as drastic as things were. Hunter took that as his cue to stop his question from there and simply nod his head as they stood in front of the whorehouse that Caroline worked in as Makoto walked up and knocked on the door.
The door soon opened as Jasmine stood in front of the group. Noel and Hunter immediately looked away as Jasmine wore her bra and panties, a suspicious white liquid dripping through her leg. "Sorry about the way I look. Was busy with my work." Jasmine apologized as she realized she was in the presence of two virgins. "It's alright Jasmine. So why did the Otsu four call for you to help us?" Makoto asked as Jasmine looked around her surroundings before gesturing for them to enter.
"The Otsu four wanted to speak with you guys in a place that the NOL won't dare to peek in. Come with me, I'll take you to them." Jasmine said as Makoto couldn't help but be surprised to hear that. The Otsu four, in a dingy brothel in the middle of nowhere? Well isn't that the most criminal thing one can do. "Well what are we waiting for, we got four heads to talk to don't we?" Makoto said, deciding that speed best be used in this instance as they were escorted to a private suite which Jasmine opened up and allowed them in.
"Sorry for the less than ideal meeting spot you guys. But it is necessary due to the current circumstances we live in." Zhang Pi apologized as there they were, the Otsu four, siting inside a love hotel's room. "Ahhhh Comrade Hunter… and a blonde woman I have never seen before!" Vlad said, trying to sit down on the room's water bed as the group looked right at Hunter as he looked away for a bit.
"Ummm...It's a long story." Hunter explained as Sofia walked up to him, her eyes glaring at him as she was clearly shorter than him. "Long story indeed… But we don't have time for stories don't we." Sofia explained as she stomped on Hunter's foot, making him yip in pain. "OWW YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Hunter said as he felt so tempted to bitch slap this girl but he relented as there was no time for such thing.
"But she's right. We should finish what you guys want from us and just get the hell out of here." Hunter said, sighing as Tetsu stood up and grabbed a small sphere. He then placed it on the coffee table and it projected a whole map of Otsu for the group to see, the various floors separated to form a whole sphere layout of the hierarchical city. "The agreement Miss Nanaya made with us was for us to be able to get you guys out of Otsu. In order for us to do so, we have to go through Otsu air." Tetsu explained as the group looked at him, Makoto unable to help but ask a question at that moment.
Makoto: So if Otsu Air's the only way we can get out, why did you call us in here?
Tetsu: That's because Otsu Air's also going to be one of the first things the NOL is going to be watching. They are expecting us to leave through there.
Makoto: They think the Otsunians are going to try and make a break for it?
Tetsu: Indeed. We currently have at least 10 Otsu airships out there in the world so getting back in Otsu wouldn't be difficult. It's the ones that are currently grounded right now that are the trouble.
Hunter: In that case, we go through the checkpoints. Even if the NOL controls them we should be able to sneak past the NOL if we hide inside a couple of boxes.
Vlad: As much as I appreciate your creativity Comrade Dragon. That's not an option for us. We got ourselves the Zero Squadron watching over there and their orders were simply to prevent any flow of traffic entering and exiting Otsu. No way your box hiding trick will work against that.
Hunter: Dammit. So the air is the only way we can get out huh.
"Which is why they are monitoring Otsu air's airport right now. They can't risk letting anybody leave Otsu. They don't want another Ikarugan exodus flooding the hierarchical cities. They want to make sure all Otsunians are wiped out this time." Zhang Pi explained as this alarmed everyone except for Hunter and Makoto as they scratched their heads. "So what's the plan. The more time we waste discussing things there, the more our window of escape closes." Makoto said, getting straight to the point as Vlad grinned.
"Simple. We go to Otsu air, deal with whatever is in front of us and get you all out of Otsu." Vlad said as Makoto nodded her head at that. "I am guessing you are saying it like that and the real reason we aren't meeting at the Otsu air airport is because you suspect the NOL area already holding it hostage." Makoto said as Tetsu scratched his head. "Much worse, we know they have taken over of Otsu Air and are planning to use it as a place to send in their air force." Sofia explained as this alarmed the rest who were in the room at that moment.
"Then we got no time to waste at this point. Let's form a plan right now..." Makoto said, punching her fist as she was eager to keep moving and not stop.
Otsu Air. Like any traditional airport, it's a place that hierarchical cities depend on for a lot of things, least being a way for people to move in and out of the city. And thus for this very reason, the NOL had begun their first crucial step of taking back Otsu through the seizure of this important infrastructure. "Miss Meifang! We have rounded up all the security and have seized their weapons. The operation is a success." A Zero Squadron member said as Meifang looked bored, yawning in the process.
"Good Good… just watch out for hostile elements and all that." Meifang said as she dismissed the soldier in the process. While it was great that they took a crucial operation from their foes easily, it was very boring to her. 'For a city of criminals, I expected more of a foothold than anything. What a pure disappointment.' Meifang thought as she felt a presence behind her. "Has the NOL told us what we should be doing next?" Tsubaki asked as Meifang sighed and didn't say a word.
"All they told me was to make sure all airships in Otsu remain grounded until the main NOL contingency arrives via airship. They didn't say anything else." Meifang explained as Tsubaki tched but understood the reason why. "So we are literally guarding this place until the main NOL contingency arrives… when we could be pressing our advantage right now and take over more territory from these criminal scum." Tsubaki said with some venom in her voice as Meifang couldn't help but grin a bit.
"Don't you think I want the same thing as you? The more time we waste being glorified guards the less time we actually get to fight." Meifang continued as Tsubaki sighed and stood beside her. "What do you think is Relius's intentions of this place." Tsubaki questioned as Meifang simply shrugged. "I could care less what the good professor really wants to do with the place. As long as it doesn't hinder my own plans I'll offer him my assistance as much as I can." Meifang continued as Tsubaki sighed.
'Every single person here is just trying to pursue their own goals… not like I am any better.' Tsubaki thought as an NOL soldier approached her. "So far, the criminals are not making any moves. However we are noticing that citizens alike are evacuating the area." The NOL soldier replied as this intrigued the two women. "Evacuating? As in back to their homes?" Tsubaki pressed as the soldier shook his head.
"Evacuating as in abandoning the street completely. I would say that the buildings in front of us are now deserted but..." The soldier answered but he paused as he didn't know if he should continue as Tsubaki simply nodded her head, gesturing for the man to continue. "We are reluctant to occupy the buildings just in case the residents booby trapped them. We are waiting on orders if we should proceed or wait for the main force to come in before doing so." The soldier continued as Tsubaki looked at Meifang who realized she had the final say in this.
"Just occupy the buildings. The earlier we can establish this place to be a forward operation as quickly as we did with the checkpoints the sooner we can start to rout and capture the criminals here." Meifang said as the soldier looked nervous about said orders. However, he had no say in such things since he was just a mere soldier and had no higher rank to oppose such orders. "Yes Maam, we will do so at once." The soldier said, saluting the two women before going to round up a group of men to do what she had just asked.
"I understand the need for a forward base of operations. Is it wise for us to rush and not wait for the main bulk of our forces?" Tsubaki questioned as Meifang shrugged her shoulders. "The men are being cautious and I don't blame them. After all, the citizens here are nothing but criminals. But that doesn't matter, what can they even do to a couple of armed NOL soldiers?" Meifang questioned as Tsubaki couldn't help but want to interject there.
Before she could however, a series of loud explosions occurred that shook the ground that they were standing. Meifang and Tsubaki stood their ground as the men had to brace themselves for the mini earthquake they had just experienced. "What was that! Status report now men!" Tsubaki shouted, trying to get a handle of the current situation as the men themselves scrambled to figure out what had just occurred in front of them.
"W-We are trying Captain! But we are struggling to get a signal from the scouts!" A soldier replied as Tsubaki knew to have patience with the men and not needlessly rush them. This situation caught them just as unaware as she was and being forceful with them was not going to help their current predicament. "Then hurry and get the report from the scouts! Go to them physically if the communicators are not working!" Meifang commanded as the soldiers saluted her before scrambling to figure out what had just happened as Meifang and Tsubaki looked at each other before looking at the remaining NOL soldiers.
"You lot! Head to the landing zones right now and make sure they are protected! We cannot afford anybody to ambush us from behind right now!" Meifang continued as she turned her attention to Tsubaki. "I trust you with the landing zone troops. I'll manage things from this end." Meifang said sternly as Tsubaki simply nodded her head. "Don't disappoint me now captain." Meifang continued before allowing Tsubaki to go and be with her troops as Meifang for once looked like she was a commander.
"Miss Meifang! We got the initial reports!" A soldier said, having ran back to her after getting the information. "Good. And if you say something dumb as an explosion I will not be amused." Meifang said as the soldier couldn't help but shake hearing that. "It's an explosion like you suspect, but it occurred at a brick building just a few blocks away from here." The soldier said as Meifang couldn't help but sigh as she thought that it was just criminals being criminals and they were having their own spats over something like territory.
"But that's not all. Apparently… the ones responsible for causing said explosion were NOL soldiers." The moment Meifang heard this, she cannot help but begin to smell something foul was happening. "I want to know the last 3 hours and what every NOL soldier was doing. If someone really did blow up that building I want them to be held accountable." Meifang said sternly as the soldier saluted her before quickly running away, realizing how serious the current situation was.
'So… It looks like Otsu's aware of what we are doing and are striking first huh…' Meifang thought as another soldier came rushing towards her. "Maam! We have a situation growing! The explosion. It was being filmed and was just released to the public!" The soldier reported as Meifang simply sighed. "Do I look like I care about PR right now. We got a job to do. Let the Otsunians do whatever they want. Once we crush them, we can disprove their claims." Meifang said as the soldier couldn't help but shake on his feet.
As soon as Meifang said her piece, another explosion occurred as Meifang was now starting to realize what was going on. "Get the soldiers I dismissed back here. Any scouts out there right now are to return back here as well!" Meifang ordered as another soldier ran to her, panting heavily as she looked at him, expecting for him to deliver another report to her. "Bad news Maam! The checkpoint, The bridge that leads to Otsu was destroyed in the last explosion!" The soldier reported as Meifang realized there was a growing theme.
'First the buildings… then the bridge checkpoint. The next thing to be blown up is…!?' Meifang soon realized what the citizens retreating was for. "I want you two to sweep and check the buildings right now! I don't want to another explosion to occur right near the forward base right now!" Meifang ordered as the soldiers saluted and immediately rushed to do her bidding as Meifang realized she needed to let Tsubaki know what was going on.
When she tried to access the NOL frequency however, Meifang reeled back in pain as the sound of static assaulted her ears. "J-Jamming!? Now of all times!" Meifang cursed as she contemplated running into the massive Otsu airport just to find Tsubaki but decided against it as she didn't want Tsubaki's attention to be split. Tsubaki most definitely heard the latest explosion and the reason why she didn't come running to her was most likely her orders.
"What could those Otsunians be planning right now..." Meifang thought as she looked at the street in front of her and noticed something approaching at high speed towards her. Her eyes immediately widened as she realized that the thing in question was a massive truck and it was not stopping as she quickly dived out of the way as the vehicle crashed itself right into the entrance of the airport, creating a massive hole as the driver had already jumped out.
At that moment, Meifang wondered what on earth had just happened as she soon got her answer in the form of a man charging right for her and attempting to slash at her with his katana. This prompted Meifang to raise her arm to take the hit as the reinforcement ars magus she applied allowed her to block it without having her arm be chopped off. "So it seems that the head of the Zero squadron is present in Otsu after all. Why am I not surprised." The man said as Meifang couldn't help but grin a little bit as she realized who the person was in front of her.
"And it seems that I caused enough trouble to get one head of the Otsu four involved hmmm. Isn't that right, head of the Yakuza Tetsu." Meifang said as she gave Tetsu a kick that caused him to slide a little as he stabbed the ground to stop. He dusted off his suit from the attack as Meifang noticed he was wearing what seemed to be a metalic gauntlet on his left arm. "Well of course I would come. I cannot stand it when people mess with what is my business." Tetsu continued as he adjusted the somen mask he wore, hiding his facial expressions from Meifang.
"Well to be fair, I always thought it was protocol for criminals to let their lackeys do their dirty work for them. I have never heard of a criminal head deciding to step up like you are right now." Meifang complimented as Tetsu simply scoffed. "I do not care about your words. All I care about is the fact that you are NOL and you are in my territory despite us telling you not to be involved in Otsunian affairs." Tetsu retorted as Meifang couldn't help but laugh at that.
"So you won't mind entertaining me for a little bit don't you? It's been a while since I had to fight seriously and to be honest. I don't care if you are ready or not. I just want to break you right now." Meifang said as she cracked her fists, eager to have a bout with Tetsu as Tetsu himself cracked his neck a little before gesturing with his hand for Meifang to come and get him. Meifang, not hesitating to accept the head's challenge, charged right at him, hand ready to deliver a powerful smash right at his jaw.
At that moment, Meifang was caught off guard as she was shot right at the head, sending her flying towards a pole and her whole body smashing through it, creating a massive dent on the pole as Tetsu looked at the direction of the shot as coming out of the smoking barrel of a massive anti material rifle, Vlad had a grin on his face as he gave Tetsu a thumbs up. "Of course… I should have expected that you would have had some company." Meifang commented, standing up as a wound on her forehead began to reveal itself as Tetsu gripped his katana tightly.
"And I thought the NOL should have expected criminals to not play fair in the first place." Tetsu said as Meifang sensed danger coming towards her as she immediately dived out of the way of gunfire, several bullets raining down where she stood before they followed to her current position, forcing her to use a barrier to minimize the impact the bullets would have had on her as another figure made their appearance with that flashy display.
"Yeah but something tells me that the NOL are more used to having the mercenaries do the criminal hunting while they are spending time doing other things." The figure, Sofia said as she brushed the dust off her suit before standing up, machine gun in hand as Meifang simply scoffed. "So 3 vs 1 huh? Do you really think throwing more numbers at me means anything?" Meifang taunted as she felt the sharp sensation of a blade press her skin as she immediately turned to try and smack the person responsible for inflicting said attack.
That person blocked that response with a simple barrier. "Maybe make it a 4 vs 1 and we shall call it even." The person said as Meifang couldn't help but narrow her eyes a bit as she realized who this fourth attacker was. "The final head of the Otsu Four, Zhang Pi huh… I cannot think if I have been given a blessing or if this is just another Otsunian trick." Meifang mused as Zhang Pi walked to be beside her fellow countrymen.
"It can be whatever you think it would be. But you have to admit, the NOL must have done something wrong if the four heads are making an appearance don't you think so?" Zhang Pi commented as she looked at the blood present on her cleaver before sniffing and taking a small lick on it. As soon as she did, her eyes immediately opened, revealing that her normal green irises had turned blood red as she leaned in.
"So it's the duty of the Otsu four to make sure things return back to normal in Otsu, for not only profit but also for peace." Zhang Pi said as she spun her knife to hold it in an ice pick style. "Peace huh. What a joke. Criminals searching for peace. If you all want peace so much you should have just surrendered yourselves to be trialed by the NOL then." Meifang commented as the ground she stood on shook for a bit.
"And miss out on this very scenery? I say you must be joking Miss Lapislazuli!" Vlad said, in a more serious tone as his massive frame held the anti material rifle with ease as he pulled out a 50 calibur rifle from his back and pointed that to Meifang. "To be trialed by a flawed system is like being forced to endure endless pain without mercy! Not that a woman of your talent would be able to tell."
Meifang simply tched hearing that. She should stay put at her current spot but what's the point of doing so if it not meant being able to take down Otsu's leadership then and there. "Why don't you come closer and try to shoot me with that big gun huh? Or maybe that gun is trying to compensate for something down there huh?" Meifang mocked as Vlad flinched hearing that as he looked at his fellow heads.
She had figured she wounded the big man's pride but was suddenly met with a stern cold feeling as Vlad immediately fired another shot from the anti material rifle which forced the woman to deflect the shot with a barrier, her hands recoiling from the pain as she gritted her teeth a little. "Well if you cannot handle this big thing. I bet you can't even last a minute with the real deal young lady." Vlad taunted back as Meifang gritted her teeth.
"You talk too much." Tetsu commented as he raised his left hand, gauntlet fully extended as Meifang noticed the metal around the area begin to shake as she immediately dodged a series of shrapnel that came flying out of the area, several of them threatening to stab her fatally. The metal pieces collected to where the gauntlet was as Tetsu pointed the various metal pieces right at Meifang's way before firing them out like a shotgun, scattering them in a violent manner as Meifang kicked down a bench to block the rest of the metal shrapnel heading her way.
"And you're pretty rough with women you know that?" Meifang bantered back as the four heads walked and huddled next to each other. "Fine… You want a 4 vs 1? Fine. Let's have a 4 vs 1 and let me show you why the NOL doesn't go after the criminal scum like you four are." Meifang said as Tetsu steadied himself once again. "Let's approach with caution you four. No point in the four of us falling down now before we can even do anything." Tetsu said as the others nodded their heads to his suggestion as they were after all just a distraction
...A distraction to the actual escape plan that was happening underneath their feet.
As the four heads began their fight against Meifang Lapislazuli, underneath their feet and in the Otsu sewer lines, Jasmine was escorting Makoto, Caroline, Noel and Hunter towards the Airport's own sewage system as Jasmine had thankfully given them filtration masks to ensure that they didn't die from the combination of heavy seithr levels as well as the rotten stench hiding underneath. "Just a little bit further, and you guys can take it from there." Jasmine commented as Hunter couldn't help but bring up an important question at that moment.
"That's great and all but care to tell me why do you know about a secret passage in the freaking sewer system of all places?" Hunter questioned as Jasmine looked at him and gave him a sigh. "I had sex with a guy who bragged about how he was going to pull off the heist of the century using the Otsu sewer systems. A little sexy time later and he gave me a copy of the maps for my own uses." Jasmine explained as Hunter seemed pretty satisfied with his answer even if it wasn't the one he wanted to hear at that moment.
"In any case… thanks for helping us… helping me like usual." Makoto said, scratching her head as Jasmine flicked her forehead. "Thank me after you get out of Otsu and deliver yourselves safely to this professor friend of yours. I don't pretend to know what she wants from you but just know that you two are basically Otsu's secret weapons." Jasmine said as Makoto couldn't help but smile a bit underneath as her hand drifted towards the handle of the rev blade, stroking it gently as she nodded her head.
"You're definitely right about that Caroline." Makoto said, deciding to keep things brief as they soon arrived at the hatch they needed to take to get to their final destination. "The heads have managed to get for you the transport you guys need to get out of Otsu safely. Just make sure the runway is secure and he will land and get you guys quick. Once he touches down, he's going to keep moving until he leaves. With you or not." Jasmine explained as the four nodded their heads, making sure to memorize the plan.
"Leave the soldiers to us Caroline. When that plane lands you go first." Noel said, placing her hands on her chest as Caroline simply nodded her head, simply trying to contain her adrenaline at that moment as Noel couldn't help but rub on Caroline's shoulders to try and ease the scientist's worries. "Don't worry. Me, Hunty and Makoto will protect you. Just focus on keeping yourself safe alright." Noel said as Caroline nodded her head some more.
"In any case, I should leave you guys to do what you guys have to do. I got to go and make sure the girls are alright." Jasmine said as Makoto closed her eyes and grabbed Jasmine's wrist. "You stay safe out there alright." Makoto said as Jasmine simply smiled behind her mask. "Of course I will. I got to hear you moan again before I die hehehe." Jasmine teased as she left the group on that note as Hunter and Noel were immediately intrigued by the tale Jasmine had just left in their minds.
"Before you guys think or say anything about what Jasmine said. Let's just focus on getting the hell out of here please." Makoto said, making Hunter realize what Makoto was talking about and simply silently nod his head before rushing ahead. "I'll go first and check out the entrance. When it's all clear I will give you the signal." Hunter said as he began climbing up the ladder to do what he just said.
"You ready for what may be in store for us Noel?" Makoto asked, biting her lips inside as she could feel a quiet kind of confidence growing inside of Noel as she nodded her head. "I have to admit, I am still a bit reluctant to fight from time to time but I refuse to give up, not now." Noel said as Makoto wanted to feel proud, she wanted to feel happy for her friend being able to grow yet at the same time there was the nagging feeling deep inside her that she made her closed her eyes.
How would Noel know of the great pain she had inflicted her? Of course she wouldn't. So she shouldn't hold it against Noel yet at the same time it was Noel's own selfish desire, selfish wish that caused Makoto this much pain. "Well I will hope you up to those words Noellie.
