After everyone by unanimity, the humans decided to remain with Hazel and his fellow rabbits to defend their home. The Chief Rabbit decided to have some rabbits being stationed in certain entrances of the warren.
"Hawkbit and Dandelion, go and guard the entrance by 'The Wood Run'." Hazel started to give us orders to defend our warren entrances. "Holly, Hyzenthlay, and Blackavar, 'The Big Root'. Bigwig, Blackberry, with me!"
"Hazel-rah!" I called for him.
Hazel, Bigwig, and Blackberry stopped and turned towards me. "What is it, Thomas?"
"About the defector? I would need a rabbit or two for help." I brought up about Campion defecting away from Woundwart.
"Defector?" Blackberry curiously questioned.
"We may not have much time. Woundwart and Shao Kahn's army are near towards our warren. They maybe outside right now." Hazel feared.
Hazel-rah! Captain Holly joined in our conversation. "Perhaps I tagged along and another rabbit, we could be able to bring Captain Campion here."
"A captain from Efrafa! You're mad!" Bigwig exclaimed.
"I know, but if his life is on the line, he may not survive tonight." I explained to Bigwig that Captain Campion is possibly targeted by Shao Kahn and his army for "difference of an opinion".
Hazel worriedly sighed. "Very well. Bigwig, go along with Thomas and Holly. After retrieving Campion, come straight back here." The three of us nodded, as I gathered a small group of Warriors to join us: Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sub-Zero, and Hanzo Hasashi. I informed the rest of the warriors to remain there and help guard the entrances.
The seven of us than exited the warren and journeyed to the encampment where Woundwart and Shao Kahn were at. We managed to the find the encampment minutes later, but only to see them tearing the camp down. We hid behind the bushes to see their activity.
"They're preparing to head towards the warren." Bigwig told us.
"Efrafans." Holly spoke.
"Yes... and Shao Kahn's army and the revenant rabbits." I added.
"Remember, we need to find Campion." Liu Kang reminded us.
"I see him." Sub-Zero spotted him by using his telescope spyglass. "He appears to be informing The General about something."
"Probably to scout ahead and meet up with the others, when they arrive at the warren." Hanzo stated.
"Wait a minute, I see Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn. They're watching him..." Sub-Zero informed us, as he watches their move. "They just ordered warriors to go after him! Campion and his group won't last."
"Alright, Hanzo and Sub-Zero, hide deep in the trees to keep watch of Shao Kahn's assassins, Captain Holly and Bigwig, keep tracking and follow Campion's movement, and Liu Kang and Kung Lao, follow me." Everyone was heading to their positions, while Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and I hid behind the trees and waited for the cue. When we got there, Campion was with two Efrafan scouts, along with Erron Black and Kano, as well with three Tarkatans and two Black Dragon terrorists. The Shao Kahn's warriors stopped and took lead to halt Campion and his buck scouts.
"Is something wrong, sir?" an Efrafan scout questioned.
"Yes..." Erron Black answered. All the sudden, he drew his revolver. "... two problems." He fired two shots that killed Campion's scouts. He than fired a shot on Campion's left hind leg.
"Thinking about joining the enemy, mate?" Kano questioned Campion.
"I don't understand what you mean by that." Campion answered.
"We heard you suggesting peace, traitor!" an Tarkatan exclaimed, as he and his fellow Tarkatans readied their blades.
"What are you doing?! General Woundwart tasked me to scout ahead for the enemy's warren!"
"We know... however, Shao Kahn no longer trusts you. He's terminating you and your agreement." Erron Black than aimed his revolver at Campion. "Nothing personal... strictly business."
I cued Hanzo and Sub-Zero to commence the ambush. Hanzo speared one of the Black Dragon terrorist and hanged him up to the tree, while Sub-Zero froze the second Black Dragon terrorist. Liu Kang and Kung Lao charged at the Tarkatans. While I went ahead to stop Erron Black and Kano. Holly and Bigwig came out and started to head their way to Campion. I began combating with the two warriors, but with their team work, I was somewhat overpowered.
"Erron... he's all yours." Kano left Erron Black to take me out. I got back up on my feet, as I noticed he was reloading his revolver. An idea came to me, since he appears to look like a cowboy.
"Why don't we have a draw?" I asked him.
"You wouldn't survive a draw, if your life depends on it." Erron Black mocked.
"If you attend to use your firearms at me during combat, why don't we settle this with a draw. Just how it was done back in the 'Old West'." I rebuttal back at him.
Erron Black finished reloading his revolver and placed it in his holster, as I opened the strap on my holster, so I could reach for my side arm. We did a half-circle until there's nothing, but bushes behind us. "I heard you taken out three of Outworld's best warriors."
"Four. Counting you." I stated.
He scoffed. "Prove it."
My heartbeat pumped faster that I quickly grabbed my side arm and fired my shots at Erron Black, before he could react. Three shots he took, one in each shoulder and a fatal shot to the head. His hat flew off, as he fell backwards on his back. After his lifeless body fell, his hat landed straight on top of his chest. Holstered my side arm away, I decided to do a tip of the hat, as the victor cowboy would do, after winning The game of Draw.
Kano managed to held his ground against Hanzo. He spotted Captain Holly and Bigwig, along with Captain Campion attempting to escape. By using his eye laser, he caused one of the tree branches to fall and block their path. "You little bunnies, ain't goin' anywhere." He was about to use his eye laser once more, but I was able to intervene and prevented him from it. After receiving the kick, he turned around to see me in front of them. Kano pulled his butterfly knives and growled.
"C'mon! You still protecting those little bunnies!" Kano mocked.
"Rabbits!" I stood up. "And I'll make sure that you won't torture anyone again."
"Captain Holly, Bigwig, get Campion out of here! I'll deal with Kano." Captain Holly escorted Campion, with Hanzo's and the Shaolin Warriors help. Just before I could face Kano, Bigwig stood by my side, coming to my surprise. "Bigwig, I need to you aid Holly and the others to help Campion escape!"
"They'll be fine... I'm ready to tear this human to shred." Bigwig growled.
"Bigwig I-"
"No disrespect, 'Private'... shove your hraka up your arse!"
My eyebrows raised from Bigwig's insult, but I knew Kano won't be easy to defeat. He started the charge, as I followed. Kano swirled into a cannonball and flew out us. Before we knew it, we were knocked on the ground. Kano than pulled out his butterfly knives. I charged at him, as he swash his knives at me. I was able to dodge his attacks, until he gave me a scar that nearly cut my eye out. Bigwig charged headbutted Kano to the ground, resulting Kano dropping his knives. Kano's laser eye began to glow.
"Bigwig, watch out!" I warned him.
In a instant, Bigwig quickly runs, as Kano attempts to fire laser at him. He would only hit bushes and trees, missing Bigwig. It provided an opportunity to my advantage to tackle Kano. I rushed at him and pounded him to the ground. However, his headbutt knocked me back up, while he got back on his feet. He than drew one of his knives and was about to impale me. I caught the blade on my hand and it started to bleed.
Kano shook his head and tsked. "I always had a thing of ya, mate!"
I shoved him back, as I got into my defense stance. Bigwig watched, as he came out of the bushes. Kano once again charged at me and began swiping his blade at me. After successful dodges, I grabbed his arm, twisted it, and used it to have his knife impale himself. I drew out his second knife and stabbed him in the back. He continues to struggle until he got onto his knees. I pulled out the first knife from his chest and faced my defeated opponent.
He gurgled for his last breath... "Go on... do it! If you have the balls-"
Without hesitation, I slit his throat and his gurgling continues, until he rattles, and falls to the ground face down. Breathing heavily, I dropped the knife from my bleeding hand.
Bigwig hopped to me. "I never knew you had that fight in you."
I looked at my bleeding hand, before looking back at Bigwig. "That's why I do my best to stay away, after I return home."
He nodded for understanding. "We must hurry back to our warren. Holly and your friends should already have Campion back into our warren."
"Agreed." We than began to hear reinforcements from nearby searching for us. The two of us started for our way back to our warren to go back underground.
