The morning, King Simba awoke alone in the cave. He instantly began to worry where his cubs could have gone when he saw his mother standing at the cave entrance.

"Mom, where's the cubs?"

Sarabi was silent before speaking. "Sherise is with Jacqueline. As Kion and Eshani are with their mother." the dark beige lioness went silent again before sighing. "Care to join me for a walk?"

Simba frowned but how could he refuse his mother? Standing with a stretch, the gold lion followed his mother out the cave and down the kopje, into the Pridelands.

Queen-Mother Sarabi was fighting with her thoughts. She wasn't sure what to say but knew where to go.

Mother and son soon stopped at the grave of Mufasa. Wild flowers were in bloom, spreading across the area.

"Simba, what's gotten into you?"

Simba should of known what this was about. The gold lion glared. "Did Nala put you up to this? Because she needs to stay out of my affairs."

Sarabi narrowed her orange eyes. "Simba, do you love Nala?"

Simba wanted to growl but knew better. But the question got him wondering. Do he?

"You're treating Nala and Jesús as though what happened to Kopa was their fault."

Simba scoffed. "Mind as well. They're-"

"Scar's children," the dark beige lioness interrupted, pinning her dark brown rimmed ears against her head. "Just because Scar is their father doesn't mean they are going to follow in his pawprints. What about your previous, innocent nephews? Mheetu and Mwezi are Scar's sons. Do you suspect them to be evil too?"

Simba went silent. He was so confused and hurt. But most of all he wanted someone to blame.

"If Nala was supporting Scar, why did she run away to find help? But you know this, wasn't you the one that told Nala you don't blame her for who her father is and that you love her?"

Simba felt his head hurt. He did say that, but Jesús..

Sarabi clearly saw the fight her son was having. "Nala loves you and support you. Jesús has it hard as is. Please don't add to it."

Sarabi took a deep breath before nuzzling her son. "What you are feeling, is unstable. But rebuking Kiara's claim for the throne in order to give Nyah's cubs the right is against our ways. Nyah manipulated you. The only one who has rights to the throne after Kiara is Sherise. Because both you and Nala adopted her. Kion can be the new leader of the Lion Guard and we'll find something for Eshani."

Simba looked up at his mother confused until he realized that Rafiki must of spoken to her. What his mother said, made him ashamed. He knew Nyah was jealous of Nala but that didn't cross his mind at the time because he was hurting.

Both of his grandmothers were killed. His son was killed. Leila, who was like a aunt was killed. His cousin was killed. One of his best friends, his mate and son were killed.

He was hurting. Nyah took advantage. With a look of determination, Simba knew what he had to do.

...

Queen Nala just had a conversation with her mother. She knew it, Nyah got in Simba's head. After feeding Kiara and leaving her daughter under her mother's watch, the tawny lioness headed to the water hole.

But the queen's path was intercepted. Nala really didn't want to deal with Simba's crap not after the way he been treating her and Jesús.

"Nala, please!" Simba begged his orange eyes remorseful. "I'm sorry."

Nala turned to face her mate. "You hurt me! Embarrassed me! Why? Because of who my father is!"

Simba frowned and lowered his head. "I'm truly sorry. I wasn't thinking straight. I love you."

Nala glared before sighing. As much as Simba was to blame, Nyah was even more. She let Simba embraced her.

Hopefully now, things can fall in place.

The sun had risen over the beautiful Pridelands. Princess and future queen Kiara ran out of the cave along with her older sister and cousins, Sherise, Mheetu and Mwezi onto the peak of Pride Rock, and smiled happily at the beautiful day the sun had brought them.

Mheetu, the oldest out of the three was much like Kiara. Wanted to make his own mark, wanted to be remembered as more than the savior king's nephew.

Mwezi, Starra's youngest. Was more skeptical. Tend to follow the rules, but it was a bit difficult when hanging around Kiara and Mheetu.

Princess Sherise knew her limits. But rather stay close to Kiara after witnessing Kopa's death.

"Wow!" Kiara cried out in awe as gazed out into the kingdom under the golden glow from the kopje edge.

Mheetu and Mwezi glanced at one another before they started snickering, Sherise shook her head and rolled her purple eyes. This earn a annoyed glare from Kiara.

"What's so funny!?"

"You! Kiki," Mwezi started with a amused grin.

Mheetu snickered again, his orange eyes full of humor as he finished. "You've seen the Pridelands, how many times now?"

Kiara huffed, clearly annoyed with her cousins. Before heading down the rocky slope.

Mheetu and Mwezi smiled at each other, and made their way down the slope as well with Sherise. The gold princess was suddenly plucked up from the ground by Simba, making the brothers and Sherise stop in their tracks.

"Where do you think your going in such a hurry?" Simba asked playfully, picking Kiara with his paw gently when she tried to escape over to her sister and cousins.

"Daddy! Let go!" Kiara giggled after Simba placed her back on her paws.

Simba smiled, but still looked a bit stern. "Now, I just want you to be careful." Kiara and Mheetu didn't pay that much attention, too busy trying to catch a pretty butterfly, before the light gold cub fell on his light beige belly when Simba pressed his paw on his tail gently.

"Are you two listening? Accidents can happen." Mheetu listened this time along with Sherise and Mwezi, while Kiara just looked bored. She and Sherise had heard this speech a dozen times.

"You could easily get hurt-"

"'Hurt, or stepped on, or even get lost'." Kiara copied.

Simba sighed, but continued anyways." And remember. I want you to stay by Pride Rock at all times."

"'At all times', I know." Kiara finished with her father at the end, while Sherise and Mwezi just nodded and Mheetu snickered. "'And if you see any strangers, don't talk to them. Come straight home.' Okay, okay! Can we go now? PLEASE?" Kiara smiled innocently as Sherise and their cousins nodded with her, giving their signature smiles that they inherited from their parents.

Simba hummed, "Very funny, you three."

Queen Nala made herself known when she sat down next to her mate and chuckled. "Mind your father, Kiara and Sherise. And you boys, mind your uncle." she told them and they smiled knowingly.

"Yes, mom."

"Yes, Auntie Nala."

Kiara and Sherise along with their cousins chorused together. Then Simba said one last thing;

"And stay away from the Outlands." just then, Zazu flew over Simba's head and seated himself beside the cubs.

"Nothing there but a bunch of backstabbing, murderous, Outsiders." Zazu gritted his beak and sneered, as if these 'Outsiders' were right by their side.

"Zazu's right." Simba agreed, looking at the Outlands in disgust for a moment, before turning back to the cubs. "You can't turn your back on them."

Sherise and the twins nodded, both knowing this was not the time to talk back, but Kiara looked confused.

"Really? How come?" she asked innocently, but Simba just shook his head. Kiara wasn't ready to hear the truth about the Outsiders.

"Never mind. Just run along now." he told them, but Kiara still wanted to know. But he wouldn't give it to her. And he's not sure if he would, "You'll understand someday."

The cubs smiled, nuzzled and weaved in between Simba and Nala's legs and then ran off.

"And stay on the path I marked for you!" Simba called out after them.

Nala chuckled, finding this rather funny. " Simba. Who do they remind you of, hmm?" Simba looked confused for second, before asking what she meant.

"They were just like us, when we were cubs." the tawny lioness told him, nuzzling him, but he didn't return it.

"Exactly! Don't you relies the dangers we put us in?" he asked, looking in the cubs direction, before being pinned easily by a playfully insulted Nala.

"You mean the dangers you put us in," Nala told him, and he chuckled, realizing his mate was right as she nuzzled him and he nuzzled back. They pulled away, still smiling.

"They'll be fine." with that, she walked away, making her way to the cave as Simba stared after her, not that comforted by her words.

...

Racing through the Pridelands in a game of baobab fruit ball, was Prince Kion and his best friend, Bunga. The grey honey badger was one of Kion's most trusted companions.

Bunga was adopted by Timon and Pumbaa, a week after Kiara's presentation.

Kion and Bunga ran through the Pridelands passing the baobab fruit back and forth before the fruit went over a cliff that leads into the Outlands.

"Oh man. There's our game." Kion sighed before turning to head back home.

"Come on Ky'. What could happen?"

Kion frowned as he watched one of his closest friends leap down the piles of rocks before running over to the fruit.

Kion gasped when he saw that Bunga wasn't alone. "Bunga, look out!"

Before Bunga could respond a hyena that the young friends unfortunately knew as Chungu picked the greyish honey badger up as another hyena, Cheezi appeared laughing.

"Janja will be most pleased!" Cheezi laughed.

"H-hey! Let him go!"

The hyenas laughed as they looked up at Kion. When Kion didn't move the greyish hyena and his comrades laughed before the greyish hyena turned to Bunga. "Maybe we pick a little off cause, I'm starving."

"No!" something in Kion snapped. The goldish-yellow cub's light brown eyes began to shine like the stars. "Let him go!"

Kion roared which sent the hyenas tumbling back. When Kion stopped roaring, he looked around before taking a deep breath. "Hevi kabisa! What was that?"

Priderock

"That was Kion's roar?'' Nala asked Rafiki, who laughed as he stood at the peak.

Across from the Royal pair was Nyah. Who absolutely didn't want anything to do with Simba. Now that he wasn't under her influence anymore.

But the creamy lioness was mainly here because it contained her son.

Starra who was closer to her brother and sister-in-law shook her head in annoyance at the expression on Nyah's face.

The goldish lioness could honestly say, she never did like Nyah, even when they were cubs.

Now, after manipulating her brother, not to mention the king she wants to be apart of royal business. Nyah's lucky it's dealing with Kion or she would of gave her a piece of her mind.

The goldish lioness is still tempted. And she knows Nala is too.

''Yes Nala, yes!'' Rafiki replied, "The prince is ready..It Is Time!''

''No, Rafiki.'' Simba said shaking his head, ''Kion can't possibly be ready, he's still a cub.''

The golden king was then hit on the head with a stick.

''Ow!" Simba yelped before looking at the Royal Mjuzi.

''Simba, you heard the roar!'' Rafiki reminded the king of the pridelands.

''But..it's just..it's a big responsibility,'' Simba said reluctantly. ''I need more time to prepare him.''

''You ran out of time, brother.'' Starra told her big brother, ''You need to tell him.''

''Tell me what, auntie?'' Kion asked his goldish aunt as he and Bunga walked over to the gathered adults.

Starra turned to her brother and the Royal Mjuzi who turned to Simba.

''Well..um..we need to talk, Kion.'' Simba said after taking a deep breath, said and his son instantly had a look of fear.

''Oh no..dad, we already had that talk. 'Can you feel the love tonight'!'' Kion said in a annoyed tone.

Simba looked at Nala and Starra, who snickered in amusement at their mate and brother's torture.

Simba cleared his throat before looking back at his son. "No. I'm gonna talk to you about something else..follow me.'' Simba said, both of Kion and Bunga was confused but followed after the king.
