Adeleine hummed as they walked inside the Ravenclaw common room. Athena and Ginny were the Slughorn sitting on the couch whispering like mad women as Adeline approached. Athena noticed her and the two ceased their whispering.

"Uhh, hey guys" Adeleine greeted awkwardly.

"Hey Addy" Athena cheerily greeted with a smile that Adeleine couldn't tell if it was real or fake.

"What are you guys talking about?" she asked and Ginny sent a side glance to Athena.

"Nothing much, just the Slughorn assignment" Ginny shrugged nonchalantly, playing off her lie which Adeleine seemed to believe.

"I know, that's got me knackered at the moment, but I finished it. I almost didn't and wasn't going to be able to make the date" Adeleine said.

"What date?" Athena questioned.

"The date that Draco asked me on" Adeleine answered with furrowed brows, "I told you guys this before."

"Right" Athena dragged on with a nod that Adeleine narrowed her eyes suspiciously at.

"Are you alright Athena?"

Athena scoffed, "Pft, of course I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? Are you fine? You should go get ready for your date."

Ginny smacked her forehead at Athena's incessant rambling and slapped a hand over the girl's mouth.

"Uhh, alright" Adeleine warily nodded, confused as to what had just unfolded in front of her. "Well, I'm gonna go."

Once Adeleine was out of hearing range Ginny released Athena and rolled her eyes. "What was that?! Are you trying to blow our cover?"

"I'm sorry, I'm just not used to lying to her. I mean you know I'm a shit liar" Athena apologized profusely and Ginny gave her a sympathetic smile.

"It's alright, just be prepared and don't ramble like that," Ginny said and Athena nodded.

"Now let's go help her get ready for her date!"

Adeleine sifted through her closet looking for a nice spring dress. It was fairly warm outside with a nice breeze.

The door burst open revealing Athena and Ginny. The two stomped into the room and slammed the door shut.

"What are you guys up to?" Adeleine asked, wary of the duo.

"We just wanted to help you get ready" Athena held her hands up to show that the two weren't up to any mischief.

"Alright," Adeleine shrugged and held up a baby blue dress with a plaid pattern. "This one or this one."

The other dress was a light yellow with little some sort of white flower pattern all over it.

"Erm," Athena hummed, "The blue one definitely compliments your eyes more, but the yellow one is nice too."

Ginny nodded in agreement, "The blue one definitely."

Adeleine nodded and walked into the bathroom to change for the date. She walked out of the restroom with the dress on, showing it off to her friends.

"Malfoy's gonna faint when he looks at you" Athena complimented and Adeleine chuckled.

"Alright girls, I'll see you at dinner" Adeleine waved the duo goodbye before walking out the door to meet Draco.

He was waiting outside the portrait door which Adeleine swung open and almost hit him in the face. He scowled at her, making Adeleine chuckle.

"Are you ready, my lady?" he asked theatrically and Adeleine stifled her giggles.

"As ever" she played along as the two walked towards Hogsmeade.

They eventually got situated in a table at the Three Broomsticks. They were going to the library afterwards because Adeleine was in need of something new to read.

"How was your day so far?" Draco asked, making conversation between the two.

She gave a small smile, "I've been okay. Last week I finished a story called 'They Both Die at the End'."

"Let me guess, they both die at the end?" Draco joked and Adeleine rolled her eyes.

"Of course I knew they were going to die, but that didn't stop it from being the saddest thing ever!" Adeleine cried and Draco chuckled at the girl's passion for books. "I mean I was so prepared for their deaths, but at the same time so unprepared. Well, the thing is that it never explicitly says that they die, but it's implied at the end that they do."

"Is it muggle?" he asked and she nodded in response.

"Of course it's muggle, all the good books are always muggle" Adeleine retorted with a smirk and Draco had to agree with her statement.

"Tell me about it."

"Well it's about two teen boys, Mateo and Rufus who discover that they only have one day to live" Adeleine explained, "I don't really want to spoil anything in case you end up reading it in the future, but that's basically what it's about. I recommend it."

Draco nodded, "I'll probably never read it."

Adeleine shrugged and hummed, "You never know."

They heard a knock at the frosted window next to their booth. Adeleine furrowed her brows, using the table to sturdy herself and stand on the booth seats. She opened the window to be greeted by a white and brown owl that she did not recognize.

The envelope that was handed to her was pure white with a gold wax in the front. There was no address saying where it was from, but she had an idea of what the letter was about.

"Who's it from?" Draco asked with an eyebrow raised in question.

"Dunno" she answered as she opened the envelope.

Her eyes glanced over the golden scripted letters. It wasn't handwriting that she recognized, but as she read the letter her mood went sour.

"What was it about?" Draco asked curiously and Adeleine knew that she should tell him, since they were working on their communication.

"It's from my dad. Well my dad's fiancé. He's getting married soon and he wants me to come. Apparently, he gave up on trying to ask me to come so his fiancé decided to write to me. She seems really nice" Adeleine explained.

"Well, are you going to go?" he asked.

She shrugged, "I'm not sure. I don't want to because he's an absolute arsehole, but he doesn't even know that his fiancé is writing to me right now. It seems like he really wanted me to come so we could reconcile, but I didn't reply to his last letter."

"Well, if I were you I would go" Draco said and Adeleine furrowed her brows at the blond boy. "If my father was able to have a chance like this and help build back our bond then I would definitely take it without a single hesitating thought."

"But some of the things he did were unforgivable" Adeleine reasoned and Draco nodded.

"Who said you have to forgive him?"

Adeleine had never been more grateful for the boy in front of her. A sudden wave of emotion hit her and she found herself jumping into his arms on the other side of the booth.

"Woah, are you alright darling?" he asked, concerned for the girl's sudden movements.

Adeleine laughed as she felt happy tears in her eyes, "I love you Draco Malfoy."

"And I, you" he replied and swung his arm around her shoulder as she snuggled into his chest.

She sat up and looked at the boy. "Now I have an important question to ask you."

"Hm?" the boy asked.

"Will you be my plus one to the wedding?" Adeleine bit her lip in anticipation.

"I was going with you, whether or not you asked" he retorted with a smirk and Adeleine's smile blossomed.

With his smile in that moment, all the flowers bloomed and blossomed.

"The rehearsal dinner is in a week" she said, "So get your best suit ready."

Draco scoffed at his girl, "Oh please, I only have the best."

The two left the Three Broomsticks when they finished their butterbeer and went to Quills and Things which was a book shop that had recently opened.

"Wow" Adeleine breathed out and Draco did not miss the way that her eyes lit up at the book selection.

The walls were painted white and beige colors to match the burgundy book shelves. All the books were freshly printed copies of different stories.

She eagerly ran up the stairs and to the second floor where the fiction section was. Draco had to chase after the girl as she read through all the titles of books.

One in particular caught her eye. It was a red covered book by a muggle author. The tile of the book was 'The Catcher in the Rye.'

Adeleine plucked the book from the shelf and turned it over to read the blurb. She hummed as she decided to start reading it.

She sat on the floor. Her mind and eyes immediately entranced by the beautiful typed words on the page.

Draco finally found the girl and watched in awe as she read pages of a new book in lightning speed. Draco decided that they would be there for a while so he picked a book of his own and ordered them some tea.

He knew that she enjoyed hers with milk and he enjoyed his with three spoonfuls of honey.

He sat next to the girl, her eyes scanning the words as he placed the cups of teas down next to them.

Two hours later, Draco looked up to the girl who had about 20 pages left of the book. The sun was setting and they had classes the next day.

"It's time to go, love" he said, snapping Adeleine out of her trance.

"Hm?" she asked, not quite done with the page she was reading.

"We've got to go. They're going to be closing soon" Draco said and Adeleine nodded.

"Wait, just one more page" she said as Draco rose from his seat, stretching.

The book slammed shut and Adeleine nodded, "Done."

Draco picked up both teacups and set them down on a nearby table where a worker picked them up. Adeleine still had the book in hand, sneakily opening it when Draco wasn't looking to continue reading.

Draco paid for her book and they walked out of the shop, heading back to Hogwarts. Draco glanced at the girl who thought she was being sneaky as she continued reading her last few pages of the book.

He rolled his eyes as he let go of her hand, watching her as she walked mindlessly with her face in the book.

Draco burst into a fit of laughter as he watched Adeleine bump head first into a tree because she hadn't been paying attention to where she was going. Adeleine grumbled as she rubbed her sore head and closed her book.

"You're such an arsehole" she yelled, but Draco just kept laughing at her.

"And you love it," he replied.

Adeleine tried to hide her grin with three words swirling in her mind.

'I forgive you'
