Long Ago, In An Empty Grassy Meadow…

A grassy meadow lay dormany, the gentle breeze pushing the grass forward. A being of blue energy walked through this grass. "This is the perfect spot." He said and then dark energy appeared at his fingertips and raise his arms up, creating a mansion in front of his very soulless eyes.

"This is the start." He said and turned around, seeing the empty world before him. "Soon, this world will be filled with life and prosperity." He would then turn to the mansion. "It needs inhabitants." He said and then waved his hand as a white gloved being appeared before him… but it was lifeless.

"You are the god of creation, life, and you will be wise, yet boastful, powerful… and very loud. You shall be called… Master Hand. Yet… you are lonely. You need a brother." He said and then snapped his fingers as another gloved being appeared before him. "You are the god of destruction and chaos, you will be insane, crazy… a loose cannon. You will be dimwitted, but perhaps you could be something more… You will be called Crazy Hand."

"Together, you will be the God of this world. In time, the gift of darkness that I have will consume me, where I will forget everything and I will not be who I once was. You two will forget about me, as I will forget you. But when I make my return as someone who I am not, the impact will be most memorable. Let the creations be turned into something beautiful. For everyone, including myself, will forget that I made this world, and everything in it."

He looked into his hands. "It is regrettable… but it is the fate that I must endure." He then looked toward the Hands. "Arise, masters of Creation and Destruction." He ordered as Master Hand and Crazy Hand awakened.

"What is your bidding… Master Tabuu?" Master Hand asked.

"I want you to create something memorable in this world. Something that will make anyone come back for more, something that would invite others to attend and watch. Something that would create… hype."

"Hype?" Crazy Hand asked.

"Excitement."

"Ooooh, exciting! Ahahahaha!" Crazy Hand laughed. "Ooooh, I think I know what to do! Perhaps we should make a resort! Jacuzzi, an olympic sized swimming pool, spas… ooooh!"

"No… that's not good enough." Master Hand mused. "Ah, I got it. Why not… create a fighting arena."

"I like that. Sounds like it'd be a fun time." Tabuu said.

"Oh come on! Who wouldn't love a good fiesta?" Crazy Hand snapped his fingers as a lei appeared over his wrist, and a martini appearing between his fingers. "Aloha~!"

"Maybe we can do that on the side." Master Hand said. "But what do we call this fight…"

"Hmm… Oh! I got it!" Crazy Hand exclaimed. "Mortal Combat!"

"No."

"…Okay, about with a K?"

"Nope."

"I got it! Street Fighter!"

"No."

"Killer Instinct!"

"No."

"Mmm… how about… uh… Tekken?"

"I got it." Tabuu said. "How about… Super Fighting Bros?"

"Catchy… but doesn't roll off the tongue." Master Hand said. "…Ah! How about Super Smash Bros!"

"Smash? That's not gonna catch on!" Crazy Hand complained. "I'd be surprised if it did."

"Now then, let us get to work!" Master Hand said.

Later, with the Smash Mansion finalized on the inside…

"Alright… let's get to work on some fighters!" Master Hand said, snapping his fingers and creating polygon shaped creatures.

"Hmm… I think it lacks… character." Tabuu said.

"You think so?"

"Indeed… I feel like something's missing." He said, watching the polygons fight.

"I dunno, how about getting some well known people from different worlds?" Crazy Hand asked. "It might just make it pop."

"…That is a wonderful idea!" Master Hand said. "Let's do that!"

"I had a wonderful idea? Booyah!"

Tabuu snapped his fingers, as a whole galaxy appeared before them. "Let's see here…" He said as he searched through the galaxy. "…Ah, here's a good one." He said, enhancing one of the worlds. "The Mushroom World… also known as the Mushroom Kingdom."

"Let's take a look here." Master Hand looked through the known inhabitants. "Ah, how about this one?"

"Super Mario - Hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, can shoot out fireballs with Fire Flowers, has a terrific jump and saves princesses from an evil Koopa King. I like the sound of this one." Tabuu said.

"How about this one right here?" Crazy Hand pointed. "Luigi Mario, king of second bananas to Super Mario himself. Cowardly, yet shows brave tendencies. I like this one!"

"Hold on, what's this right here?" Master Hand asked. "Yoshi, a species of dinosaurs that inhabit Dinosaur Land and Yoshi's Island. These peace loving creatures are mostly friendly."

"Let's bring one in! You never know what the friendly ones will do!" Crazy Hand laughed. "Ooooh, how about that gorilla right there."

"Donkey Kong, inhabitant of DK Island, frequent visitor to jungles… has a nasty rivalry with a large crocodile. Has a nasty punch that will hurt." Tabuu read aloud.

"Let's bring them in!" Master Hand said. "Let's visit a different world this time."

"How about this one?" Tabuu said, pulling up a new world. "Hyrule… interesting."

"Oooh, it's got a good timeline going. Hopefully it doesn't split and make it all confusing! Hahahaha!" Crazy Hand cackled.

"Link, the Hero of Hyrule. Known for his bravery and holds the Triforce of Courage. Currently, he is searching for the seven sages of Hyrule to bring peace and prosperity back to the world from the wicked Ganondorf." Tabuu read.

"Let's leave him be. That sounds pretty serious." Master Hand said.

"Are you kidding? A little sidequest never hurt anyone. Bring him in!" Crazy Hand said, causing Master Hand to sweatdrop.

"Very well then."

"We got our Hero of Hyrule." Tabuu said and looked through the galaxy once again before pulling up a spaceship. "Ah… a spaceship."

"Who's inside of it?" Master Hand asked.

"Samus Aran, the intergalactic bounty hunter. Samus is known for his bravery and strong capabilities to crush any planet in his way." Tabuu read.

"Ooooh, I like this guy!" Crazy Hand said.

"…Oh, I read this wrong. Samus is a girl."

"SAMUS IS A WHAT NOW?!" Crazy Hand yelled.

"A bounty huntress… you don't see that everyday… let's bring her in!"

"Agreed." Tabuu nodded and searched again. "The Lylat System, home to a team of four individuals known as Star Fox. The leader is Fox McCloud, who is brave and will do anything to save the Lylat System. Has a rivalry with Star Wolf."

"But he's a pilot. He won't do much." Master Hand pointed out.

"Oh, I'm sure we can invent a few moves for him." Crazy Hand chuckled. "Like this guy right here! Captain Douglas J. Falcon, or just Captain Falcon. He's a bounty hunter, and yet he only carries a gun. Pah! I say he doesn't need one. Let his fists and feet do the talking!"

"Are you suggesting have some of these fighters create their own moves?" Tabuu asked.

"We can add a little flare to it. A fiery punch and a fiery kick!" Crazy Hand said. "Ahahahaha! It'll be devastating!"

"If you insist." Master Hand nodded. "How about this young boy right here?" He pulled up Onett. "Ness, a telekinetic boy who has saved his world from the hands of Giygas. He is incredibly gifted in magic."

"Yes to that!" Crazy Hand then pulled up another. "Ooooh, he's so adorable!"

"Kirby, the hero of Dreamland." Tabuu began. "Known for his voracious appetite and can copy almost anything he swallows. Can be friendly, but will knock your block off if provoked." Tabuu folded his arms. "I do not know about this one. I have a bad feeling about him in particular."

"Ah, what's the worst that can happen! Bring him in!" Crazy Hand said.

"...Very well." Tabuu nodded, hesitantly agreeing. Why do I feel he will be a thorn in my side at some point? He then nodded. "We have ten fighters. That is plenty."

"Is it though?" Master Hand asked. "I think we need a few more."

"Let's see here... Altea, no... ah, this will do. Kanto!" Crazy Hand said. "The world of Pokemon! So far, there are a grand total of 151 known Pokemon in the world, where a lot more is waiting to be discovered."

"How about that one?" Master Hand pointed to Pikachu. "Pikachu, the Mouse Pokemon. This Pokemon is known for its electrical powers and is rumored to be the mascot of a major company."

"You sure it's a mouse?" Crazy Hand asked. "Looks like a rabbit... with a very large tail."

"Anything else you desire?" Tabuu asked.

"One more." Master Hand said and looked through the Pokemon, finding Mewtwo. "Oh, this one looks promising!"

"Wait wait wait, go back a few!" Crazy Hand said, scrolling back. "Yes, this will do nicely!"

"...Are you sure? It doesn't look very intimidating."

"Looks can be deceiving!"

"Hmm..." Tabuu mused. "Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokemon. It's lullaby will put anyone to sleep." He scratched his chin. "I assume this is a throwaway option."

"You never know. It might be a sleeper hit for someone!"

"Like what, a box?" Master Hand rolled his non-existent eyes.

"Like I said, you'll never know~!"

"Twelve fighters. This is plenty. Let us bring them in." Tabuu said, snapping his fingers as the twelve individuals appeared before the gods.

"Wha?!" Luigi yelped. "Where are we?!"

"What is this place?" Captain Falcon wondered.

"This is... new." Fox said.

"Poyo Poyo..." Kirby looked around before spotting Samus. "Hiiiii!"

Samus's eyes widened. Kahby?!

"What is going on here?" Mario demanded to know.

"Welcome. You twelve individuals have been selected to join in an... experiment. Should it prove successful, this fighting arena will prove popular amongst the galaxy and will be a hit." Tabuu said. "Welcome... to the Super Smash Bros Mansion."

"So we are going to fight? Is it to the death?" Ness wondered.

"No, no death." Tabuu said. "Just maiming each other silly until the opponent declares defeat."

"Oh, that's wonderful... not!" Luigi said.

"Mmm, it sounds interesting. I'm willing to give it a try." Link said with them nodding.

"Pika Pika!"

"Jiggly!"

"Yo Yo!"

"Excellent! Some of you will need to come up with your own fighting style. Don't worry, we will help you out." Master Hand said. "In the meantime, the rest of you will soon start to... SETTLE IT! IN! SMASH!"

Everyone, including Tabuu, covered their ears.

"Aheheh... sorry, I'm not sure what came over me." Master Hand said.

"Sounds like fun." Mario nodded.

"Indeed, now the first fighters are..." Master Hand snapped his fingers, as Mario and Kirby were suddenly teleported to an arena. "Mario vs Kirby!"

"May the best man win." Mario said, getting in a fighting stance.

"Poyo!" Kirby said with a smile.

"Three! Two! One! GO!"
