J.R. didn't want to do anything; she's too concerned about Jayce; thinking about the problems they'll have when Jamie wakes up.
"She'll be ok," Crosshairs tries to assure her.
"I know it's bad, but I think we should force Jayce to see Jamie. She's seen the pictures, maybe seeing Jamie in person will help her."
"It's risky."
J.R. drops the subject and continuous to watch T.V. while leaning on Crosshairs.
Drift lays on the bed at a 45° angle, holding Jamie, worried about the problems still ahead, than happy she continues to do better. Bulma stopped running the EEG and removed the wires. Drift can't help but think there's now bad news with that test, and that's why Bulma stopped the test. He's able to relax enough to fall asleep.
"I don't like this, Bulma," Cade comments, "seems good news just released Drift and Jayce's bottled up emotional struggle. Yet Drift hasn't been keeping his emotions bottled up."
"He's still terrified Jamie will decline no matter how often I tell him she won't. He will not understand my notes either. Jayce is still feeling guilt she couldn't take care of Jamie, and thinking what if this happened back in Jamie's dimension and she didn't think to contact me."
Damn, Jayce and J.R. are going to have lasting effects from this; maybe we all will. Cade worries.
Ninety minutes pass before Bulma watches Drift twitch in his sleep.
"No," he mumbles.
This can't be good. Bulma worries. How bad are his nightmares when he's not bere? Before Jamie was taken off the ventilator?
"Drift, Jamie is ok," Bulma calmly says as she takes his hand, hoping to wake him up.
He wakes up not realizing where he is until he sees Jamie laying on him. He sighs, relieved Jamie is doing better than in his nightmare, even if she won't wake up for a while. Bulma tries to show Drift Jamie won't end up critical again, but she can't lie about Jamie possibly needing more oxygen support. She tells Drift it would only delay when Jamie wakes up.
"It's rare for the level of the chemical to increase now, but if it happens, it'll be a small increase. That's how Jamie ends up in short comas, but that only happened twice. It's complicated, but she's getting better."
Bulma puts Drift's hand on Jamie's back and covers the two with a blanket before going back to the table.
Crosshairs was hoping J.R. wouldn't want to take a nap in the middle of the day, but she fell asleep while laying on the couch with him. Crosshairs and Hound question if she's still depressed or used to the naps.
I don't want to leave you, but Jayce should wake up soon. Drift sighs before getting off the bed and laying Jamie back on the bed. Drift covers her with the blankets and looks at the monitor for a bit. Jamie's heart rate is still a little low but not concerning.
I hope you'll wake up soon. Drift kisses Jamie before having Bulma open a portal.
Drift discovers Crosshairs and J.R. sleeping on the couch. He couldn't resist taking a picture that both Crosshairs and J.R. might be mad he took.
He sits by Jayce's bed, hating she needs to be drugged to sleep or even relax.
Bulma told me she used a small dose, so Jayce will only be asleep for two to three hours. I may be sitting here for another hour, but I need to be here when she wakes up.
Drift waits another hour before Jayce wakes up, debating whether he should have Jayce see Jamie.
He sees Jayce's blue eyes full of sadness. Drift takes her hand and strokes her forehead.
"I think it's a good idea for you to see Jamie," he suggests, "she's doing well."
Jayce said nothing, and Drift drops the subject for now. Jayce moves to stare at the wall.
Crosshairs and J.R. wake up two hours later. J.R. immediately wants to check on Jayce.
Crosshairs lets her, unaware of her intentions, as J.R. sits on Jayce's bed. Jayce didn't bother seeing who's sitting on the bed.
"Jayce, I think it's a good idea to see Jamie," she says while rubbing Jayce's back. Jayce says nothing; unsure what else to say, J.R. lays next to her.
"Well?" Crosshairs asks.
"I don't know," Drift sighs, "I also suggested she should see Jamie, but I worry about the negative effects this will have."
"She's already unstable; can she get any worse? Either this will help her or have no effect."
Bringing an unstable person to see a very ill person may seem like a foolish idea, but Drift agrees with Crosshairs; seeing Jamie can't affect Jayce more negatively. The two mechs plan on talking to Bulma either when she returns it after Jayce and J.R. go to sleep and they can see Jamie.
An hour passes before Crosshairs and Drift want to get the girls to eat dinner. J.R. is too concerned about Jayce to leave the room.
"Come on, you need to eat," J.R. says while rubbing Jayce's arm.
"No," Jayce replies in a sad tone.
"Take her to the kitchen with us," Crosshairs whispers.
Jayce doesn't fight Drift as he picks her up. J.R. hates seeing how depressed she is. She stops Crosshairs from following Drift which worries him.
"I don't like how this has affected Jayce; she's pretty much dead inside, not wanting to live anymore," J.R. tells him as tears roll down her face, "I told you we have problems when Jamie wakes up. This won't send well even though Jamie is getting better."
By now, J.R. is crying. Crosshairs picks her up, hugs her, and rubs her back.
"Everything will be ok," Crosshairs promises as he gets a tissue and wipes J.R.'s eyes.
He walks out of the room and down the hall before Drift worries about them.
Jayce is drinking a bottle of nutrition drink when Crosshairs walks into the kitchen. He doesn't bother making food for J.R.; instead, he puts her on a chair and gets a bottle of nutrition drink. The two mechs decide to call Bulma to talk about bringing the girls to see Jamie.
J.R. struggles to stop thinking about the possible disaster they'll have when Jamie wakes up. Jayce hates how worried J.R. is about her and how she's still feeling this depressed.
"Well?" Crosshairs asks as Drift ends the call.
"She's also worried this won't go well but knows how this could possibly help Jayce."
The two mechs ultimately decide to take the girls back to the junkyard.
