Chapter 52: Backwarder
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Wow I'm so glad my season 2 finale blew you all away. Now I officially begin season 3. Now this one took a lot of debating on where to start but I think I got it figured out. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves in Paris near the Eiffel Tower but it was many years ago during World War II as a young Master Fu was running along the canal with a young woman with blonde hair. This was Marianne.
"Wait! We have to fight Fu! Let's use the Miraculous: I'll take the Ladybug and you take the Black Cat." Marianne said coming to a stop.
"But what if we fail? They'll get a hold of this box it will mean the end of the world. And…I can't take losing another one." Fu frowns.
"You can't keep blaming yourself for what happened to Han and Kimiko. You didn't know." Marianne said.
"I'm sorry I can't risk losing this box. Inside is all I have left to remember them. Come with me to England. We'll be safe there." Fu offers but she pulls away. "Marianne?"
"Leave without me. I'd rather stay and resist, even without the Miraculous." She said.
Reaching to his tie, Fu pulls off a pin with a Chinese character for love in on it and puts it on her.
"I'll come back for this…and you." Fu assures.
"I'll be waiting for you, right here, every day." Marianne assures.
"Marianne, I've never told you this, but I—"
Before Fu could finish she put a finger to his lips.
"Tell me when you come back." Marianne said when a light was shined on them.
"Over there! Catch them!" Someone yells.
"Go!" Marianne yells as they both ran their separate ways.
At present time we see the sun shining down in Sam's room as he laid in bed, but he wasn't alone.
Snuggling up next to him was Alya and the two of them had just enjoyed themselves.
Needless to say after battling Scarlet Moth they needed this.
Suddenly Alya's phone vibrated meaning she got a text.
Groaning, Alya slowly wakes up and grabs it seeing it was a group text from Marinette.
"Emergency at my place, please hurry!" It read.
"Ugh I really don't want to get up." Alya groans but she knew Marinette needed her.
Looking to Sam sleeping soundly, Alya leans in and gives him a soft kiss before getting out of bed revealing her to be in her birthday suit.
As she got changed she left Sam a note before going to help Marinette.
Once she left, Wayzz flew in and looked into Sam's window to see him still asleep.
"Sam I need you, it's an emergency. Wake up." Wayzz said shaking him awake.
"Ugh Wayzz, what are you doing?" Sam groans before realizing Alya wasn't with him. "Alya?"
Looking around he noticed her note.
"Went to go help Marinette, said it was an emergency. I'll see you soon and hopefully we can go again." It read.
"Oh man, thanks a lot Marinette." Sam groans when Wayzz flew over.
"Sam, Master Fu needs your help." Wayzz said.
"What is it this time? Did forget his keys again?" Sam asks.
"He needs medical help." Wayzz said.
"Is it life or death?" Sam asks.
"Well…not exactly." Wayzz said.
"I'm going back to bed." Sam said laying down.
"Faang, convince Sam to help." Wayzz said looking to Faang only to see he was asleep just like his owner.
"Mmm Sam shut off that alarm." Faang groans not opening his eyes.
"Ugh nevermind I'll try Ladybug, hopefully she's awake." Wayzz groans flying out.
At Marinette's room, Marinette standing in front of Alya, Rose, Mylene, Alix and Juleka sat down all with tired expressions.
"Girls! We have a very serious situation! Adrien and his father have been invited to the Royal Wedding in England this weekend." Marinette declares.
"That's the emergency you called us over here for on a Saturday morning? I gave up spending the morning with Sam for this." Alya groans annoyed and tired.
"You don't get it! Kagami and her mother are going with them! Which means that Adrien and Kagami will be spending an entire weekend together!" Marinette panics.
"And?" Alix asks.
"What if Adrien is blown away by her awesome dress and hairstyle? And if they dance together at the reception? And what if they tour the city on a romantic horse and buggy ride? It would be the end of the world! They're taking the Startrain to London at 11 AM; that's in less than two hours! We've gotta do something, fast!" Marinette said as everyone but Rose looked like they were about to fall asleep.
"We could... organize a demonstration and make the trains go on strike." Mylene yawns.
"Nah they'd just take a helicopter or a private jet." Alya said.
"I know! We'll dress you up as British megastar Adeline so you can slip into Buckingham Palace, you'll lure Adrien away from Kagami at the reception and waltz with him in the grand ballroom and—" Rose starts.
"Then when Adrien finds out you're not who he thought you were, he'll be totally disappointed because he hates lying; he'll fall head-over-heels in love with Kagami, given that she never lies, and you'll get locked away in the Tower of London." Alix interrupts causing Marinette to gulp in fear.
"Why don't you just kidnap Kagami? That's cool." Juleka said causing all the girls to snap out of their tired trance.
"That would be bad!" Alix said.
"No way we could do that, Juleka!" Alya said.
"No way." Mylene said.
"We couldn't!" Rose said.
"Listen, Marinette, the best thing to do is just spill your guts to Adrien once and for all before he takes off for London." Alya said.
"Couldn't we just do Juleka's plan?" Marinette asks and all of them shook their heads. "But I just can't do that. I can't talk to him without stumbling all over my words. I've been trying for months and—" Marinette gasps seeing Wayzz by her window. "And you're right." Marinette said surprising them. "It's about time things change. I'll find the courage somehow; thanks girls!" Marinette said leading them out of her room.
"You sure you'll be okay?" Alya asks.
"Yeah, sure! I'll let you know what happens. Bye girls." Marinette said closing the door allowing Wayzz to enter. "Wayzz what's going on?"
"Marinette! You must come with me; Master Fu needs you!" Wayzz said as Tikki flew out.
"Do you think it's serious?" Marinette asks.
"Master Fu wouldn't send Wayzz if it wasn't." Tikki said.
"You mean like the time when he lost his keys and locked himself out of the house?" Marinette asks sarcastically.
"It's about time Fu learned how to write and send texts." Tikki said giving Marinette an idea.
"Write! Thank you, Tikki! That's the answer!" Marinette realized.
Running to the subway, Marinette enters the train and takes out a paper and pen. "I'm gonna write Adrien a letter, and give it to him on the train platform just before he leaves. At least then I won't mess up anything when I open my mouth." Marinette explains to Tikki.
"Dearest you, when you love someone you must never hold back from telling them when you have the chance." Marinette starts not noticing two boys heard her. "Because one day you might realize that it's too late and that all your hopes and dreams are ruined, with no way to go back in time and do it over. I want to tell it to you today, before you leave, so you can take my words with you. I'm hoping they'll make their way to your heart, and that, when you come back, you'll give me a chance to prove how true these words really are. I... love you."
"I love you." Both boys mock.
"Oooh she's got a crush." One boy mocks.
"Come on kids, it's not nice to make fun of poets." A passenger said causing Marinette to cringe in her seat.
"Maybe this wasn't a good idea." Marinette blushes embarrassed before putting the letter in her purse.
After exiting the train, Marinette arrives at Master Fu's place only to see him laying down with a doctor nearby.
"Marinette." Fu groans.
"Doctor is Master—I mean my grandpa going to be okay?" Marinette asks.
"Of course he is. You know what men are like: one little hiccup and they think they're dying." The doctor giggles.
"My time has come." Fu groans causing Marinette to sigh in relief.
"Here you go; fetch this from the pharmacy and he'll be back on his feet in no time." The doctor said giving Marinette a prescription.
"I will." Marinette said putting it in her purse.
"And don't forget to eat more veggies, Mr. Chan. You need fiber, for guts sake." The doctor giggles before leaving.
"Mr. Chan?" Marinette asks.
"You can never be too careful." Fu groans as Marinette bends down next to him. "Marinette, if anything happens to me, I want you to take care of the Miracle box. You'll be the new guardian."
"Come on, Master Fu, you're overreacting; it's just a little bellyache, that's all." Marinette said patting his hand.
"I am 186 years old, remember? The doctor doesn't know that." Fu admits.
"You're going to be fine, I'll go pick up the medication." Marinette said standing up.
"Wait. That's not why I called you here." Fu interrupts pulling out a letter. "o to the address written here down on the river banks at 11am. You'll see a woman there wearing a pretty brooch shaped like a Chinese ideogram. Give her this letter."
"Who is she, Master?" Marinette asks.
"Someone I've always loved, but have never seized the moment to tell." Fu admits.
"Master, you've got a sweetheart. But why today?" Marinette asks.
"Because I'm just realizing that I've waited way too long. I don't know how much time I have left, but I don't want to waste another moment." Fu said.
"You're so right! If you don't do it now, you'll probably never do it; I'm gonna do what I need to do today, too!" Marinette declares putting the letter in her purse.
"Thank you." Fu smiles.
"Bring the medication back fast! I don't care what the doctor said, I don't have a good feeling about this." Wayzz said.
"You can count on me Wayzz." Marinette said as she and Tikki left.
As they ran down the stairs, Marinette suddenly came to a stop.
"Hey, wait! Adrien's train is leaving at…20 minutes!" Marinette gasps looking at her phone.
"The meds, Master Fu's letter, Adrien's letter, you won't have time to do everything Marinette." Tikki said.
"I won't but we might. Tikki, Spots on!" Marinette said as her earrings glowed and she transformed into Ladybug.
Meanwhile, at a café, Sam was sitting down with Alya for breakfast as she explained everything.
"So then Marinette says she's gonna somehow find the courage to confess her feelings to Adrien and had us all leave." Alya said.
"Oh boy. She's not even gonna be able to make a sentence in front of him." Sam sighs.
"Tell me about it. I love Marinette but she does not do well under pressure." Alya said.
"Yeah well, Adrien isn't exactly the sharpest when it comes to romance either." Sam said.
"Honestly those two would be so happy if they could just get their feelings in check." Alya said.
"Well, no couple can be as understanding as us. We had a bit of a rocky start especially before I told you my big secret." Sam said.
"True but still, why do they make it so hard?" Alya asks.
"Beats me, but for now how about we stop playing matchmaker and just enjoy our time together?" Sam suggests.
"Now that sounds like a great idea." Alya smiles. "So be honest any crazy things happening with your other life?" Alya asks.
"Not since Heroes Day thank goodness for that. I need a break from the craziness." Sam sighs.
"Well maybe I can help with that." Alya smiles scooting next to him and snuggling next to him.
"Hmm you might be onto something." Sam smiles.
At the train station, Ladybug swings in before hiding behind a building.
"Spots off."
"Train number 8625 and 8025 in the direction Paris, Montparnasse arriving on platform 12." The announcer said as Adrien, Kagami and their parents head to the train.
As Gabriel and Kagami's mother enter Adrien was about to follow when Marinette ran out.
"Adrien!" Marinette calls out getting his attention.
"Marinette?" Adrien said surprised as she ran over.
"Er…" Reaching into her purse she pulls out a letter. "Here! Read this in the drain—er—on the train! I've never told you kiss—this, but what I want more than anything else in the world is written on this piece of paper and... only you can give it to me." Marinette blushes surprising him.
As she ran off, she bumped into someone. "Sorry! Medical emergency!"
Pausing Adrien looks down at the note before going onto the train.
Around the corner, Marinette was feeling like a million bucks.
"I did it! I gave him the letter; I actually did it, after all this time! Why did I wait so long? It was so easy!" Marinette smiles.
"I'm so proud of you Marinette. You took the plunge." Tikki said.
"Alright time for the next one. Tikki, Spots on!" Marinette said as Ladybug swings away towards the next stop.
On the train, Gabriel uncomfortably adjusts his tie.
"I'm feeling a sense of uneasiness in you, Gabriel-san." Tsurugi said.
"I think I just don't like being away from home, that's all." Gabriel said.
"He who hopes, gives himself the opportunity to obtain what he desires. But he who fears always ends up with the very thing he dreads." Tsurugi said.
"I shall remember that Tsurugi-san." Gabriel said as Adrien opened the letter and was surprised by what was inside it.
Meanwhile on the banks by the river, Mr. Ramier was feeding the pigeons like usual when an elderly Marianne walks over.
"Hello again Mr. Ramier." She smiles.
"How are you today, Ms. Lenoir?" He asks as she sits down next to him.
"Today's the day. I know he's coming. I can feel it." Ms. Lenoir smiles.
"He really is a very lucky man. He doesn't deserve you." Mr. Ramier smiles when Ladybug drops in and notices the pin on her coat.
Pulling out the letter, Ladybug walks over.
"Hello Ma'am." Ladybug said approaching her.
"Look its Ladybug." Mr. Ramier gasps.
"Uh yeah I have a letter for you; the mailman asked me to give it to you because there was something wrong with him—" Ladybug stutters trying to come up with an excuse.
"I know perfectly well who sent you, young lady." She smiles surprising Ladybug. "Go now the less we talk, the safer your secret will be but thank you, Ladybug. I've been waiting for this moment for a very long time." Marianne smiles taking the letter.
"You're welcome, ma'am. It was very nice meeting you." Ladybug said swinging away.
At the pharmacy, Ladybug enters and holds out the last letter.
"Morning ma'am, this is for you, it's very urgent." Ladybug said as the pharmacist took it.
"Uh... look thank you for this very moving heartfelt declaration, but I'm already taken, and my name's not Marianne." She said causing Ladybug to panic.
"Wait if you have Master Fu's letter, who's got the prescription?" Ladybug asks.
At the river, it turns out Marianne was reading Marinette's letter to Adrien.
"When you love someone, you must never hold back from telling them when you have the chance, because one day you might realize that it's too late and that all your hopes and dreams are ruined, with no way to go back in time and do it over... Too late...? Hopes and dreams ruined...?" Marianne said as her voice saddens. "This means he doesn't love me anymore. That it's too late for the two of us?"
"Oh Ms. Lenoir." Mr. Ramier said feeling so sorry for her.
"We promised each other. All these years of waiting…for nothing." Marianne said getting up.
On the train, Gabriel's Miraculous shines briefly getting his attention.
Standing up, Gabriel walks to the back.
"Father?" Adrien said confused.
"We are about to depart, please stand clear of the—" Before the conductor could finish Gabriel approaches him.
"You there! This train will not depart until I say so." Gabriel said before heading towards the lavatory.
"Who do you think you are?" The conductor snaps.
"I am Gabriel Agreste! And I'm not feeling well, and until I'm feeling better nobody goes anywhere; is that clear?" Gabriel glares causing him to whimper.
"Mmm hmm sorry Mr. Agraste." He said as Gabriel enters.
Opening his jacket, Nooroo flies out.
"We've got work to do." Gabriel said as he transforms into Hawk Moth.
"Ladies and gentleman, we have a sick passenger on board; our departure will therefore be slightly delayed until further notice." The conductor whimpers.
Inside, Hawk Moth opens his cane releasing a butterfly.
"I can feel a whole lifetime of hope. The hope of being reunited with one's true love only to find out the waiting has been in vain." Hawk Moth said turning the butterfly into an akuma. "Fly away my little akuma and evilise her!"
At the river, Mr. Ramier picks up Marinette's poem and gasps.
"Ms. Lenoir wait!" He said trying to catch up with her when suddenly the akuma flies in and enters her pin.
"Backwarder, I am Hawk Moth. I'm granting you the power to make up for lost time by stealing it from others! All I ask for in return is Ladybug, Silver Claw and Cat Noir's Miraculous." Hawk Moth said telepathically.
"Thank you for giving me a second chance, Hawk Moth." Marianne said as she transformed.
"Ms. Lenoir?" Mr. Ramier gasps seeing Backwarder.
She had purple skin, a gold and black armor with what appeared to be a giant key on her head that resembled a wind-up toy, a clock on her chest with the Chinese character in the middle and her cane had been transformed into a black sword resembling a clock needle.
Using her sword, Backwarder touches Mr. Ramier causing him to walk backwards and put Marinette's letter on the ground.
When she did, the cracks on her face started to disappear.
As a boat was sailing by, she jumps on it and taps her sword against it causing it to go in reverse making her laugh.
"No more time to waste!" Backwarder declares before leaping off.
As Sam and Alya were walking across the street, they suddenly hear multiple horns honking.
Looking over, they see Backwarder causing multiple cars to drive away in reverse.
"Uh Sam, I think you guys are on." Alya said.
"Agreed." Sam said giving her a kiss goodbye before running down an alley.
"So much for our day of relaxation." Faang said flying out.
"It was fun while it lasted. Faang, Teeth out!" Sam said as his bracelet glowed and he transformed into Silver Claw.
Back on the train, Adrien was listening to music on his headphones when his phone beeped sending him an alert.
Opening it he sees the news playing.
"This just in! There's a new supervillain at large!" Nadja said as Adrien saw Backwarder in the background causing him to gasp.
"I-I better go check on my father." Adrien said getting up.
Making his way to the restrooms, he presses on the locked door.
"Occupied." Hawk Moth said startling him.
"Oops sorry." Adrien said going into the other one.
"Gotta go huh?" Plagg asks coming out of Adrien's pocket.
"Plagg, Claws Out!" Adrien said as his ring glowed and he transformed into Cat Noir.
As Backwarder makes the Ferris wheel go in reverse Ladybug spots her and sees the Chinese character on her chest.
"Oh no! I've seen that brooch before! If my love letter caused this kind of reaction it's probably a good thing Adrien didn't read it!" Ladybug said as Backwarder touched two cars and a mother pushing her baby in a stroller.
Walking in reverse a car was about to hit the mother when Silver Claw leaps in and grabs her.
"Whoa, easy ma'am you're safe now." Silver Claw said putting her down.
"Silver Claw, good timing." Ladybug said leaping in.
"What's going on?" Silver Claw asks when Cat Noir moonwalks over.
"Milady, okay you are?" Cat Noir asks as she crossed her arms annoyed. "Are you okay Milady?"
"Cat Noir they've been hit by a supervillain." Ladybug said leading them towards Backwarder.
"Yeah we saw that, it's like she's making them go back in time." Silver Claw said.
"What's going on?" Cat Noir asks.
"I won't bore you with the details, but I'm sure the akumatized object is the brooch with the Chinese ideogram she's wearing." Ladybug said.
"Good enough for me." Silver Claw said.
"I trust you." Cat Noir said.
As Backwarder was going after civilians, Ladybug throws her yoyo stopping her sword.
"Not so fast!" Ladybug said as Backwarder turns to them.
"There you are again, you ghastly bug! Once I've touched you, all I have to do is wait for you to transform back!" Backwarder said.
"Then you can give me her Miraculous." Hawk Moth grins.
"Not right now; first I'll follow her so that she can lead me back to the man who gave her those earrings." Backwarder said shocking him.
"What? You know the Guardian of the Miraculous? You must take me to him!" Hawk Moth orders.
"Fu? Of course! He's the one who broke my heart. He's been hiding under a false name for a long time, but now thanks to you, Hawk Moth, I'm going to find him again at last and make up for all that lost time." Backwarder declares causing Hawk Moth to laugh.
"What a delightful twist of fate." Hawk Moth smiles.
"Cat Noir, Silver Claw, I was at Master Fu's earlier! We can't let her touch me otherwise she'll lead Hawk Moth straight to the Guardian! And the Miracle Box!" Ladybug warns.
Breaking out of her grip, Backwarder leaps in with her sword only to be stopped by Silver Claw and Cat Noir with their weapons.
"No way can we let that happen." Silver Claw said.
"I'll gladly be your bodyguard milady." Cat Noir said.
"Lady I don't know what Master Fu did to you but we'll get you back to normal." Silver Claw said as they both went on the attack.
"In no time you'll be back the way you were before you got akumatized!" Cat Noir said whacking her sword hand up allowing Silver Claw to kick her in the chest sending her crashing into a lamp post.
Charging in Silver Claw readies his sword when Backwarder touches the lamp post causing it to fly back into place and knock Silver Claw to the ground.
Shaking it off, Silver Claw quickly rolls out of the way to avoid being stabbed.
Grabbing a car with her yoyo, Ladybug throws it at Backwarder.
"Return to Sender!" Backwarder said touching the car causing it to fly back where it came from.
"Hey be nice to milady!" Swinging his staff, Cat Noir whacks Backwarder into Obelisk de Louxor.
Throwing her yoyo, Ladybug cuts the top part of the obelisk off causing it to fall towards Backwarder.
Raising her sword she stops it and puts it back.
"You're wasting your time while I grow stronger." Backwarder grins.
"We're not gonna beat her like this." Silver Claw said.
"We need a new plan." Ladybug said as Backwarder went on the attack.
Using his fencing lessons, Silver Claw was able to dodge and parry her attacks while Cat Noir had to be light on his feet to avoid her attacks.
"All I need is one hit!" Backwarder said as Cat Noir trips and lands near a dumpster. "Time's up Cat Noir!"
She was about to strike when Ladybug pushes her causing her sword to hit the dumpster causing all the garbage to fly in her face allowing the heroes to escape.
Turning around, Backwarder sees the three heroes leap over the Ferris wheel.
Leaping over, Backwarder lands in the park only to see it was completely empty.
"Wanna play hide n' seek, huh? I've got all the time in the world; I'll find you sooner or later and once I've defeated you, you'll lead me straight to my sweetheart!" Backwarder declares.
"Then I'll be able to get my hands on not only their Miraculous but all the other magic jewels as well." Hawk Moth laughs.
Hiding behind a statue all three heroes look to see Backwarder walk past them.
"Any ideas?" Cat Noir asks.
"I don't think my howl will be enough to bring her down. Not a big enough opening." Silver Claw said.
"A little helping hand from fate is in order. Lucky Charm!" Throwing her yoyo into the air a large pipe appears. "A pipe?"
"That's incredible! I was just thinking to myself, why don't we redo the fountain's plumbing while we're here?" Cat Noir suggests.
Looking around Ladybug sees what they need.
"Alright know what to do; follow me." Ladybug said leading them towards the kite string and gives it to Cat Noir before making a cross in the dirt.
"There! Now tie the pipe around your ankle." Ladybug said.
"This is more complex than usual." Silver Claw said.
"You have no idea and I need to say focused." Ladybug said as Cat Noir used the string to tie the pipe to his leg.
"Okay, now stretch your arm out like this and take a few steps back until the string is pulled tight." Ladybug said as he followed her instructions. "Now Cat Noir, raise your arm and say Cataclysm backwards."
Pausing Cat Noir tries to figure out how to say it.
"Uh msylcatac." Silver Claw said.
"Msylcatac!" Cat Noir declares as Ladybug sets a timer.
"Excellent! Now pull the tube back to you." Ladybug said as he yanked it back. "Now Silver Claw I need you to wait for my signal. We need you get Backwarder where she needs to be."
"Got it." Silver Claw said as they both followed her.
"Come on! You're merely delaying the inevitable." Backwarder said looking around.
"Sorry we got a little held back, but we're all yours. No more timeouts." Ladybug said as the three heroes faced her down.
"My sweet darling Fu, soon we'll be back together again." Backwarder said going on the attack.
"I'm sorry guys." Ladybug said.
"Sorry for what?" Cat Noir asks.
"For this!" Grabbing Silver Claw, Ladybug throws him into the trees while she pushes Cat Noir causing Backwarder to touch him and go backwards.
"tahw rof yrroS?" Cat Noir said as Ladybug starts her timer.
"One down! I can't believe Fu chose such a cowardly Ladybug, who would sacrifice her own Cat Noir and attack her own Silver Claw." Backwarder said going after Ladybug while Cat Noir ran backwards.
"What are you doing? Why don't you just take Cat Noir's Miraculous or go after Silver Claw?" Hawk Moth asks.
"You'll understand soon enough. He's powerless now, but I want Ladybug! She's my only ticket back to Fu." Backwarder said chasing after Ladybug.
From the trees, Silver Claw groans before looking to see Cat Noir run past him towards the hiding spot.
"Next time, just tell me to hide." Silver Claw groans getting ready.
As Ladybug dodges all of Backwarder's attacks she ran back towards Cat Noir who was getting into position before arriving at the cross she made.
"Ow, my ankle! I think I've sprained it!" Ladybug said dropping down on one knee.
"You're mine." Backwarder said charging forward when from out of the trees Silver Claw leaps in behind her.
"Moon Call!" Silver Claw's bracelet glows as he took a deep breath and released a sonic howl.
The resulting force causing Backwarder to slingshot towards Ladybug before Ladybug leaps over her just as Cat Noir kicks the pipe causing Backwarder to trip and fall towards him just as Ladybug's timer dinged.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir said hitting her brooch dead center.
"NOOO!" Backwarder said as the akuma was released.
"No more evil doing for you little akuma! Time to de-evilise!" Ladybug said throwing her yoyo and capturing the akuma and turning it back into a butterfly. "Gotcha! Bye-bye little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" Throwing the pipe into the air it undid all the damage and turned Marianne back to normal.
"Pound it." The three heroes fist-bumped.
"Well at least I think so, because to be honest, I still don't understand what all that was about." Cat Noir said as Ladybug walked over to Marianne.
"Yeah same here." Silver Claw said.
"That's because we girls are mysterious that way." Ladybug said as both their Miraculous beeped.
"Oh look at that. I better get going." Silver Claw said.
"Same here." Cat Noir said.
"Why the rush?" Ladybug asks.
"It's a secret; you see, we cats are mysterious too. " Cat Noir said running off.
"I'm glad you're all better ma'am look after her Ladybug." Silver Claw said running off.
"What happened to me?" Marianne asks as Ladybug led her to a bench.
"I gave you the wrong letter earlier, I hope you'll forgive me. I can't do anything to change the past, but, I hope this letter will change your future." Ladybug said giving her Fu's letter before leaving.
At the train, Hawk Moth was not happy about this.
"Don't believe for one second that you've won, Ladybug! I've acquired more information that will enable me to track the Guardian down. And even though no one in Paris goes by the name of Master Fu, I will find where he's hiding. Soon I'll be able to have him decipher the spellbook for me and maybe, who knows, even get my hands on every Miraculous on Earth." Hawk Moth laughs.
Outside the conductor was talking with a passenger.
"I know it's taking a long time but—" Before he could finish Adrien and Gabriel walk out at the same time.
"You seem to be feeling a lot better father." Adrien smiles.
"Oh yes I am." Gabriel said escorting Adrien back to his seat.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our incident has been resolved. This train for London is about to depart, stand clear of the doors, we apologize for any inconvenience." The conductor said finally able to leave.
At the river, Fu and Marianne were sitting together.
"Marianne, I'm sorry I took so long to come here. I always felt as long as I was in charge of the Miracle Box, I'd be a danger to anyone I'm close to but that's all in the past now." Fu said.
Slowly, Marianne puts her hand on top of his.
"I know you always wanted to do what's best. I know what a responsibility it is being the Guardian of the Miraculous. Unfortunately, Hawk Moth now knows that I know you." Marianne frowns.
"Yes, he could hurt you to get to me." Fu sighs.
"We can't be together again until he's been defeated." Marianne sighs.
"I have full trust in the ones I have chosen. I know they will succeed." Fu said.
"Now it's my turn to go and hide, my sweet darling Fu." Marianne smiles.
"Marianne, I never told you this but I…I." Before Fu could finish Marianne put a finger to his lips.
"Shh. Save it for when I get back." Marianne said.
From above, Marinette and Tikki were watching this while Sam and Faang were hiding behind the staircase watching.
"Why doesn't he just tell her?" Tikki asks.
"Because it's probably not the right time yet." Marinette said.
"How about you? When will it be the right time for you?" Tikki asks.
"I'll tell you if I'm still alive after seeing Adrien again tomorrow morning." Marinette sighs as she and Tikki left.
When Marianne walks away Fu sighs getting up when he sees Sam and Faang waiting for him by the stairs.
"How much did you hear?" Fu asks.
"The whole thing." Sam admits walking up to him. "You love her don't you?"
"More than anything." Fu admits.
"I'm sorry." Sam said.
"It's okay. You know Sam, there's one thing about you I truly admire." Fu said as they walked together.
"What's that?" Sam asks.
"You're brave enough to be a hero and still find the courage to still pursue love. I don't know how you manage to control both parts of your life but I wish I could be like you." Fu said.
"The key is trust Master Fu. I trust her and she trusts me, I'm honest and that's why I'm able to make it work." Sam said.
"Sam you are by far a better man than I could ever be." Fu said.
"There's still hope for you. Like you said once we beat Hawk Moth you can go back to her." Faang said.
"Then what's taking you so long?" Fu smirks causing them to laugh.
Soon Marinette was at the front of the school with the girls and Sam.
"So? How did it go?" Rose asks.
"Did you tell him" Mylene asks.
"Yeah I mean…basically I gave him a letter." Marinette admits causing the girls to cheer while Sam looked at her impressed.
"Wow not bad." Sam said.
"Tell us exactly what you wrote in the letter!" Rose said.
"Oh, not much; it's not really important, is it?" Marinette asks.
"What? How can you say that girl?" Alya asks when Adrien approaches her.
"Uh hey Marinette." Adrien said surprising them.
Seeing this all of them grinned eagerly as Alya pushes Marinette towards him.
"was very surprised when I read your letter, but since it seemed to be so important, I spent the whole weekend walking around London looking for it." Adrien said holding out a pharmacy bag. "For you."
Moving in Alya helps Marinette grab the bag.
"Uh thank you." Marinette said.
"Glad I could help." Adrien said walking into school.
"This is a disaster." Marinette whines.
"Disaster? He had you on his mind all weekend; he even brought back a gift for you." Alya said.
"What is that anyway?" Sam asks.
"Show us!" Rose said.
"You don't need to know!" Marinette said trying to pull it away but Alix tosses it to Alya who opens it.
"Constipation capsules?" Alya asks confused.
"Oh Marinette, there is clearly something wrong with you but I don't think this is something a pill can solve." Sam sighs causing Marinette to groan embarrassed while everyone else laughed.
