52.- Triumvirate, part III
Natla is monitoring her new brand of survivalists. Until monitoring goes awry. Apparently her technology is incapable of gauging a blood sign. She smashes her keyboard at Natla Technologies Aksaray. She's lost them. The survivalists are now slaves to Karel's angelic half. "No," Natla realizes. "I made a miscalculation. That's not Karel, it's the Sleeper!" With the wrong genetic code, she cannot suppress the Sleeper in the cryogenic chamber. Her experiment has achieved chaotic proportions now. Like the cataclysm of Atlantis.
A raid from the survivalists takes down the offices of Natla Technologies Aksaray. The two just rulers of Atlantis witness this. From the rubble of the now taken down building emerges the Queen of Atlantis in her true shape. That of a biomechanical woman with flying and shooting abilities. "So, you have awakened from your eternal unrest, sister," Qualopec says coldly.
"The Scion.." Natla says while watching his two former partners. "It woke you up eight years ago, hasn't it?" Qualopec confirms it with a cold tone. "We were there," Tihocan says. "We knew you might reactivate our Pyramid. So we rested there for generations, until you woke us up. But we were surprised when we saw her do what we dared not. She destroyed the Scion. Now, I ask you to rise like her and put an end to your experiment."
"Are you kidding?" Natla says. "They are survivalists! They will advance us, and strengthen us, even create new breeds!" Qualopec takes a piece of the Scion from his chest. Natla's piece. "If you don't believe us, then you can see it for yourself," Qualopec says. So Natla watches the predictions run by the Scion. Stale evolution. Only one species in the whole Earth, the Sleeper. "The other species won't be able to adapt to this emergency," Natla says. "For once you are correct. We must stop this. Extinction is the opposite of evolution."
Lara Croft is being cornered by the next generation of survivalists. The Lost Domain has proven to be a more adequate environment for their hatching than the Great Pyramid of Atlantis itself. That is until three green lighting shocks start disintegrating the survivalists. Three shadows emerge behind Ms. Croft, and she recognizes them. It's a triumvirate reunited again. "Go, and defeat the Sleeper," Tihocan says.
