Ida's POV

It's been a few days since we raided Witter's complex. I've avoided Isaiah as much as possible, I just still couldn't believe he was really back and the memories of having to get over his death still hurt me. I have been bouncing between Delilah's house and Sebastian's house, trying to stay away from a grieving Abby and a confusing Isaiah.

When I do see Abby, her eyes are usually puffy and red, her hair is a mess, and she doesn't speak. She is a spirit of the girl she used to be, the unbroken, wild-child. I have been talking to Camila more. She's really a fun person to talk to.

Isaiah is a whole new person. He seems to be hinting at something, but he never puts it out on the table for me to see. He is at least somewhat how I imagined, much taller, more handsome, and way more overprotective than when we were little. He acts like Sebastian started World War II, killed a truckload of puppies, then murdered Stan Lee. It's sooooo annoying.

As I sit on Sebastian's bed after school, I roll my eyes just thinking about how overprotective Isaiah has become. I'm still deep in thought when Sebastian opens the door with a tray of snacks and a glass of water for each of us. He sets down what he is holding and kisses my forehead. I smile up at him.

"You look exhausted, Kitten." he sits behind me on the bed.

I nod and lean back into him, drifting off but before I do I whisper, "Don't call me kitten or any stupid pet names just Ida or bro either/or."

I wake covered in a thin layer of sweat. Sebastian shifts next to me, and I realize I am twisted into his arms. I relax for a moment only to hear a faint alarm beeping next to me. I look over at where the beeping is coming from and find an illuminated clock with the time "9:00 AM" painted on it clearly.

"It's broken," I hear a tired voice say from behind me.

I smirk and turn over to bury my face in his chest.

"You should probably-" I start, but my phone rings.

"Abby snuck out." Delilah says from the other line," Peter and Daisy found her in the complex."

"What's wrong," Sebastian asks.

"I'm friends with a bunch of idiots."
