Tadashi ran up to Tsukishima's side after the taller boy fell to his knees. "Tsukki! Are you okay?" Tsukishima nodded, staggering to his feet with the help of Tadashi. The freckled boy pulled him to the other side of the alleyway, out of immediate reach of Sekimukai. "We have to get out of here."
"No." Tsukishima's eyes were filled with determination, something that Tadashi hadn't seen in a long time. "If we run now, the idiots might get hurt."
They both watched Kageyama square off against Hinata, who was moving robotically. Kageyama dodged a kick and threw a jab, muttering a quick "sorry". Their fight eventually ended up with Kageyama pinning Hinata to the ground. Sekimukai swung his knife down above Kageyama.
"Tsukishima, now!" the taller boy shouted.
Tsukishima held his hand out. The golden sheen of his wall blocked the way between Kageyama and Sekimukai's knife. He formed four more to make a box.
"Fourteen and a half minutes," Tsukishima forced out. "Because I was injured, and that idiot's quirk drained my energy, bet on seven minutes and thirty-eight seconds. That's being generous." He glared down at Tadashi. "Go!"
Tadashi swallowed, but his mouth was dry. Sekimukai had turned his attention on hacking away at the wall. His attention wasn't on Tadashi. If Tadashi grabbed Tsukishima now, he could've gotten away with him, taken him back to the dorms, away from there. He shook his head. That wasn't thinking like a hero.
Tadashi got into a running position. Shooting off on his feet, he launched himself at the spiky haired villain. He yelled a battle cry, winding himself up to hit Sekimukai. The boy in question looked up just before being punched in the face.
They battled it out for what felt like forever. But based on Tsukishima's wall, it had only been about two minutes. Tadashi saw Sekimukai glance at Tsukishima before launching himself at the freckled boy. Sekimukai gave Tadashi several cuts with his knife, although none of them were deep enough for blood to be on the weapon. Tadashi was so exhausted from dodging that he wanted to collapse, but he kept his composure. Tsukishima's walls wouldn't last much longer. He had to take Sekimukai out before they flickered.
"Switch out!" the muffled voice of Kageyama called from inside the golden box.
Tadashi glanced at Kageyama, seeing that one wall of the box fell. Hinata stiffened up again, like what happened right after Sekimukai licked his blood. Kageyama, who was holding Hinata, darted out from inside the box, pushing Tadashi into it. Before he landed, however, Sekimukai stabbed through his hand. Tsukishima threw up the wall behind him.
"Less than three minutes!" Tsukishima shouted to Kageyama.
Kageyama nodded and cracked his knuckles. "He's going down in one!"
Tobio threw a few well placed punches and dodged the knife. Sekimukai wiped his bleeding nose and grinned.
"You think you understand true friendship, do you?" Sekimukai taunted, throwing another stab. This one just grazed Tobio's cheek.
"I think I understand it better than you," Tobio growled, returning the slash with a kick in the ribs.
Sekimukai coughed, but his grin widened. "Have you felt the butterflies in your stomach when you look at Sho?" He stepped back, and his grin curled into a strange, lovesick smile. "Have you wanted to stab him so bad, just so you would know what he feels like when he kisses you?"
Tobio's face twisted into disgust. "You're sick."
"I'm demented," Sekimukai sighed, "they're two different things." He gazed longingly at Hinata. "You have no clue how lucky you are, you know? You get to spend every day with Sho. While I'm stuck with being alone at Shiketsu."
This is my chance, Tobio thought, rushing up towards Sekimukai. He was so close to kicking him, when he dodged. Sekimukai jumped up and pointed his heel down, heading right for Tobio's leg.
Tobio tried to move out of the way, but it was too late. The large crack of his bone breaking rang out through the alleyway. The air was still, only disrupted by Tobio's wailing. And one other thing that Tobio could barely make out.
It was muffled, barely audible over Tobio's cries, but it was Hinata shouting his name.
Distant sirens sounded at the edge of Tobio's hearing. He quieted himself down just enough to hear the last words Sekimukai spoke to them before disappearing.
"See you later, Sho."
With that, he was gone.
Tobio laid on the ground, still in immense pain. The golden glow of the walls flickered as Tsukishima collapsed. Yamaguchi ran to Tsukishima, seeming to check up on him. Hinata crawled over to Tobio, his clear brown eyes swimming in tears.
"K-Kageyama? Are you okay?" he asked in a cracked and whiny voice.
"No," Tobio croaked. He looked down at his leg, which was stuck out at an almost ninety degree angle and bruising very quickly. "Your friend...your friend really...ow.."
"An ambulance?" Hinata wheezed.
Tobio looked at where Hinata was looking. He went pale. "Deku."
"U-Uravity," Yamaguchi stuttered. "And Shoto, too."
The three heroes stood at the head of the alleyway, all with stern expressions on their faces. Behind them were a few ambulances.
Tobio sighed. "We're definitely in trouble."
