Braxton House
"You told Brax about our argument over being best man and you didn't think to tell us?" Heath groans, staring at the middle triplet.
"I didn't think it would matter. It got them talking about their wedding didn't it?" Lucas says, not seeing the problem with him having told Brax and Ricky about it.
"He had a go at us saying it wasn't our choice in who he chose." Casey lightly glares, not happy about the lecture him and Heath had to listen to over it.
"Well I think you did good." Kyle says to him. "They've been needing a reason to focus on themselves instead of everything going on here, and you gave it to them. I heard they've agreed on a date for their wedding."
"Who told you that?" Casey asks.
"I was going to get a coffee from the diner this morning but heard them in there talking about it with Irene and whoever else was in there." Kyle says. "But don't go telling them I heard it cause they might tell us soon."
"Your secret is safe with me." Lucas says.
"Don't listen to him, he doesn't know about how to keep things secret." Heath shakes his head at him.
"Kyle is my triplet and I wouldn't get him into trouble." Lucas says, smiling at Kyle.
"So you'd happily get us into trouble instead?" Heath asks. "And think about your next words very carefully."
"We don't have a special connection." Lucas shrugs.
"I buy you food all the time!" Heath complains.
"We were born together, even if we didn't grow up together." Kyle says.
"We surfed together, I basically taught you half the stuff you know." Heath says.
"Kyle will always be my favourite brother and nothing will change my mind." Lucas says, pulling Kyle in for a hug.
"Aw, look at you two lovebirds." Heath smirks.
"Just because you don't have a special bond like us." Lucas smiles.
"I do have a special bond with someone and they're called Bianca." Heath says.
"I mean a bond with a brother." Lucas says. "Like I have Kyle and Kyle has me, Casey has Brax and Brax has Casey, who do you have?"
"Well me and Kyle did a lot till you turned up." Heath folds his arms.
"Yeah but it wasn't just Lucas turning up." Kyle says. "You're really old and couldn't keep up as much." He grins as Lucas and Casey laugh at Heath's face.
"I am not old!" Heath glares. "I thought you were the nicer triplet but maybe me and Lucas will start doing stuff instead. Least he learnt to surf."
"Surfing isn't really my thing like we thought it would be. It gets pretty boring after a while." Lucas says. "And I won't do anything that leaves Kyle out."
"Well I'll do stuff with you both then, it just won't be surfing." Heath says. "Like going for drinks in Yabbie Creek. I'm sure that would be easy enough."
"Kyle can't even keep up with Lucas, how do you expect to keep up with both of them?" Casey laughs as Brax walks in with Ricky.
"Who says we would have to get drunk?" Heath says. "We could just go for a few drinks."
"What's going on?" Brax asks.
"Me and my two triplets are going to start going for drinks to prove that we can do stuff together, even though Lucas has taken Kyle from me now." Heath lightly glares at him.
"I'm sorry." Lucas says.
"They were talking about the different bonds we have as brothers and Heath's not happy that Kyle has latched onto Lucas." Casey tells his brother.
"Well don't start any arguments, I'm done with them now." Brax says.
"Kyle overheard you in the diner talking about your wedding."
"Heath!" Kyle shouts, shoving him in the chest. "I said to keep it quiet!"
"I know you overheard." Brax says, raising an eyebrow at him.
"How?" Kyle asks, having thought he was keeping out of sight pretty well.
"Irene saw you stood there, that's why we said we agreed on a date for the wedding." Ricky smirks.
"So you haven't agreed on a date?" Kyle asks.
"Yes and no." Brax says.
"Cause that's not confusing." Heath scoffs.
"It's going to be this year, we just haven't decided on a specific date yet. There's a lot of things we want to consider before making secure plans for it." Ricky says. "But you guys will be the first to know, so next time you don't need to be listening in the diner." She smirks at Kyle.
"I wasn't listening on purpose, I just heard the wedding being mentioned." Kyle shrugs. "I'm not the one who decided on who your best man should be."
"And I've already told Heath and Casey it's not their choice. For all you guys know, I could choose Lucas." Brax says.
"I'm not good with speeches so that would be a very bad idea." Lucas says.
"I hate speeches, everyone would be staring at you and it would be really off putting." Kyle says.
"Exactly. Plus I haven't been here long so what would I really say? I would have to make things up or make jokes, and my jokes are so bad that people would pity me and I don't want that." Lucas says. "I'd be better at organising things, like telling people where they would have to sit, or making sure everything was running on time."
"But wouldn't that be the job of the organisers, not you?" Kyle frowns.
"Well yeah but it would be better than reading a speech where all eyes are on you." Lucas says.
"Are you boys done now?" Brax asks. "I won't make you the best man, Lucas. Does that make you happy now?"
"Yes, thank you." Lucas smiles.
"Does that mean I'm out of the running as well?" Kyle asks. "The last time I had to read something to people was in school and it didn't end well."
"Nope, you're still in the running." Brax smirks. "Lucas has a valid reason for not wanting to be best man, you don't."
"I think being bullied in front of my entire year group and having a breakdown is a very good reason to not be the best man. It was a very traumatic time in life." Kyle says.
"Apart from this will be in front of friends and family, so there would be no bullying or breakdowns." Ricky says.
"Trust me, I'd still have a breakdown. Plus I haven't been here long, so that takes me out of the running. You've got to choose between Heath and Casey." Kyle says.
"I'll choose who is and isn't in the running for being my best man. No one, not even you Lucas, is out of the question. I don't care how long you've been here, or how much you think you do or do not deserve it, it's my choice." Brax says to make it clear to them all.
"Yes boss." Heath nods, smirking at him. "So what has to be considered before you set the date?" He asks.
"Nothing for you guys to worry over, just couple stuff." Ricky lightly smiles.
"So come on Kylie, when are you and Emily getting married?" Heath smirks.
"Don't even joke about that." Brax glares at him.
"You said you liked her now because you were letting me make my own mistakes." Kyle folds his arms.
"I did say that but doesn't mean I'm going to let you get married this early on in your relationship after everything that happened not so long ago." Brax says.
"What if we eloped like you and Ricky made out you were doing when we went to the city." Kyle says. "Looking back, it was quite horrible to lie about it. Maybe I'll keep using it against you like you do to Emily."
"Alright, I get your point, Kyle." Brax rolls his eyes. "I'll be nice to Emily, I just don't want you doing anything stupid this early on."
"Well then you'll be glad to hear that we're not looking to get married this young." Kyle says.
"I think it's nice to wait a bit until getting married." Ricky says.
"You're just saying that to make Brax feel better about himself for waiting nearly a decade before mentioning marriage." Kyle says. "If it was anyone else, you would have been married years ago."
"You better shut your mouth before I make you go and live at the caravan park again." Brax glares. "It's not like I would need to waste time finding another manager, Lucas is doing a great job."
"Well why don't you just give my job to Lucas so I can have more free time, which you promised to give me by promoting him." Kyle says.
"Kyle, you know when I went through the times you should keep quiet and there was a period when you knew that, now is the time." Casey says, Kyle groaning to himself as he goes to sit on the coach.
"Least one of you has common sense." Brax says before walking to the flat.
