Previously on The Twice Blessed Child…
We continued to walk and stopped when we heard Umbridge's voice.
"Boys and girls are not permitted to be within eight inches of each other."
"Those wishing to join the Inquisitorial Squad for extra credit…"
"Students will be submitted to questioning about suspected illicit activities."
"Any student in noncompliance will be expelled."
When Flinch started to remove the paintings I did send an elf to chew him out and then proceeded to use magic to remove them without harming the people inside.
At the moment Harry and I were getting ready to leave for the Ministry's spring gala, and of course, it was being held at the Malfoy house. By the time we arrived most everyone was already here. The Minister walked to Harry and I but we ignored him. Instead, both Harry and I headed over to Malfoy and Slytherin.
"Gentleman." I said
"Ah, Lord Potter and Lady Morningstar." Lucius said
"Lucius with everything we know about each other call me Anastasia." I said
"Call me Harry." Harry said
Lucius just looked at the two of us, and then he went as white as his hair when Marvolo started to laugh.
"Loosen up Lucius." Marvolo said
"So how have things been going on your end?" I asked
"Alright, however, I will say that I don't remember them being so crazy last time." Marvolo said
"Well being in a place like that wouldn't have helped any." I said
Marvolo went to answer but didn't get the chance as a few members of the Wizengamot came up and started talking to us. I could tell that those that meant him seem to like him, which means that my plan was going great and shouldn't be meet with much resistance. The Minister keeps looking over towards us. Soon the group that was talking to us moved to talk to new people. The Minister took that as his moment to come talk to us.
"Lady Morningstar I would like to talk to you, if that is possible." Fudge said
"You may." I said
"Can we move away?" Fudge asked
"No, I think right here is fine. I'm sure Lord Malfoy and Lord Slytherin could care less." I said
"Okay, about what happened in the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts. It truly wasn't my attention to make you think that I believed you and young Lord Potter to be liars. It was a stressful situation, and I was flustered." Fudge said
"If that made you flustered and you thought that was a stressful situation then I do not want to see you in an actual stressful situation. You are the Minister of Magic here in Britain dealing with a Headmaster of a school should not have been that difficult." I said
By the end of my sentence, I took notice of the people that were around us, and I knew that by the end of the party everyone would know that the Minister couldn't handle talking to a headmaster without getting flustered. A small smirk came across my face, and he glared at me. He stepped forwards so that he was in my personal space. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Harry smirk, Marvolo went to step up but Harry grabbed his arm.
"Just watch." Harry said
Marvolo became less tense but was still at attention.
"You are just a little girl, with too many titles. You know nothing and can do nothing. I can destroy your life. I am the Minister of Magic…"
I cut the Minister off.
"Currently." I said
"What?" he asked
"You are the Minister currently. But you are right I do have too many titles, so let me remind you of who I am. I am Anastasia Morningstar. Lady to the Most Noble and Most Ancient House of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Merlin, Pendragon, and Le Frey. Heir to the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, Ὄλυμπος (Olympos), Τον υπόκοσμο (The Underworld), and Παράδεισος και κόλαση (Heaven and Hell." I said
When I said my title I made sure only he could hear me, I moved so I was standing next to him.
"And in your words, I can destroy your life, and I will." I said
I moved past the Minister and continued to speak to people at the party, but now I would mention the fact that I thought the Minister looked tired. I used the Mist so that it was implanted in their mind, and that every time the Minister came up in conversation that would be the first thing they thought about. I also made it so that every now and again when someone was talking about the Minister it would get mentioned and it would spread like a virus.
When I was done spreading the mist I made my way back over to Harry, Lucius, and Marvolo.
"And what were you doing exactly?" Harry asked
"I was simply talking about how the Minister is looking quite tired lately." I said
"What made you speed up things?" Harry asked
"I don't like being treated like a child." I said
"But you are a child." Lucius said
I glared at Lucius and let a little bit of my father into my eyes. Lucius stepped back and looked terrified, Harry nudged me, I closed my eyes and when I opened them I looked back at Marvolo.
"Things will be moving a lot faster than I had originally planned. So if I were you I would start getting people to trust and like you." I said
Marvolo nodded his head. The rest of the party went off without a hitch. Once it was over Harry and I left and went back to Hogwarts. We were on our way up to the common room when were meet by Umbridge and her little squad.
"And why are you two out of bed past curfew?" She asked
Harry and I look at each other and then down at what we were wearing.
"Professor, I have a question for you, what are Harry and I wearing?" I asked
She looked us both over.
"A dress and dress robes." Umbridge said
Then we kind of just looked at each other. One of the members leans over and whispers something in Umbridge's ear. Her eye grew huge when she finally understood where had just come from.
"Oh, well in that case I will have Mr. Malfoy here escort you two to the Gryffindor Dorms." Umbridge said
"That is very nice of you." I said
Draco steps forward and the three of us headed up towards the common rooms. Once we were out of earshot when Draco started the conversation.
"So how was the party?" Draco asked
"It was nice. Anastasia had a small discussion with the Minister. How was that conversation?" Harry asked
"It was very engaging. I said a few things that hurt his ego, and his response was very detrimental to his future." I said
"What do you mean?" Draco asked
"He said that 'I was just a little girl, with too many titles. You know nothing and can do nothing. I can destroy your life. I am the Minister of Magic.' I cut him off and then told him that he was the Minister of Magic currently, and that I did have to power to change that." I said
"She then spent the rest of the night talking to every person that was there." Harry said
"What could you have possibly said to everyone?" Draco asked
"Oh, just that the Minister seemed tired." I said
"Do you really think that will do something?" Draco asked
"Yes, I do. By the end of the school year, Fudge will no longer be Minister." I said
Draco stopped walking and stared open mouth at us. I laughed and continued to walk with Harry to the entrance to the dorms. We stepped into the doors and were immediately questioned by the twins.
"Where were you two?" Fred asked
"And why are you dressed like that?" George asked
"Well we can answer both those questions with a single answer." I said
"We were at the Spring Ministry Gala" Harry said
The twins looked at each other, then back at us.
"I guess that does answer both questions." they said
"If you boys will excuse me I would like to get out of these heels and this dress." I said
They nodded their heads and as a group told me goodnight. When I got to my dorm I quickly changed and sat down at my desk to write some letters to my friends at camp. After I finished the letters I sent them off and climbed into bed.
Harry, Dudley, and I were walking past the Great Hall and noticed that the doors were shut tight.
"I wonder why these are shut?" Dudley asked
A random Ravenclaw walked by and answered the question.
"They are only shut like this when Umbridge is holding a mass detention." the Ravenclaw said
"What exactly happens in these mass detentions?" I asked
"It depends, I have yet to have one, but a girl in my dorm said she had to write lines." she said
"That doesn't seem so bad." Dudley said
"But it was, what she wrote engraved on her hand, it took almost a full two weeks for to disappear." the girl said
I went to say something but the doors unlocked and started to open. The Ravenclaw ran off.
"What kind of quill does that?" Dudley asked
"I think she is making them use blood quills." I said
"Is that even allowed?" Dudley asked
"No, a blood quill is a dark object. I'm surprised she was able to get it past the castle wards." Harry said
"Unless Dumbledore wasn't feeding the wards magic." I said
"What?" Dudley asked
"In a castle-like this or with any powerful ward. Someone has to feed the warding stone magic. The castle is huge he would have to feed them at a minimum 5 times a year. If he wasn't feeding them then they won't be as strong. I'll have to find them and fix that issue." I said
"I bet they will be in the Headmaster's or in this case Headmistress's office." Harry said
"Great." I said
We turned to walk away but were stopped by a fifth-year Ravenclaw who had just left the Great Hall.
"You are Anastasia, Harry, and Dudley, correct?" the Ravenclaw boy asked
"Yes, we are." I said
"Will you follow me?" the boy asked
"Sure." Harry said
We followed out of the corridor.
"What can I do for you?" I asked
"My little brother is in Gryffindor. He will be having detention with Umbridge tomorrow and after what I just went through… he said that you guys promised to protect them from the teachers and other students?" the boy asked
"Yes, that is true." I said
"If his detention was like the one I just had…" I cut the boy off
"If he comes back from his detention either Harry or I will look him over. If we see that Umbridge hurt him in any way. She will be dealt with." I said
The Ravenclaw boy nodded his head.
"Thank you." the boy said
He went to leave, but I grabbed his arm.
"Let me see your hand." I said
He held out his hand and on the front of it was a phase. I let a sigh, I held my hand over the phase, and soon it is healed.
"Don't go spreading this around, understand." I said
"Yes." the boy said
He turned and left the corridor.
"What do you have planned?" Harry asked
"If she hurts one of our lions. She will once again meet Lady Hogwarts and it won't be pretty." I said
Harry and I were sitting in the common room waiting for the first year to come back from his detention. We heard the common room door opened and the boy walked in. He went to walk past us but Harry stopped him.
"Come here and sit with us." Harry said
The student stopped and moved and sat down in the open chair.
"So how was your detention with Umbridge?" I asked
"It was fine." the boy said
"And what did she have you do?" Harry asked
"She had me write lines." he said
Harry and I looked at each other.
"What is your name?" I asked
"Arthur." the boy said
"Okay, Arthur, I'm going to ask a question and I need you to answer me honestly. Okay?" I asked
Arthur nodded his head.
"Did the lines carve words into your hand?" Harry asked
"Yes." he said
"Can I please see your hand?" I asked
He once again nodded his head and held out both hands. I looked them over and noticed the beginning effects of a blood quill. I shook my head.
"Did she use it?" Harry asked
"Yes, she did." I said
I put his hand between mine and healed it.
"You won't be having any more detentions with Umbridge. Also, I do not want you to tell anyone that we had this conversation. If your brother asks you may tell him, but no one else." I said
I pulled my hands away and he looked down at his hand.
"How did you know I had a brother?" he asked
"Who do you think told us about your detention. He was worried about you after his detention with Umbridge and wanted to make sure you were fine." Harry said
The boy nodded his head.
"Now why don't you go ahead and head upstairs and to bed. Using that type of quill takes a lot out of a person." I said
Arthur nodded his head and got up and headed up the stairs. Once we heard the door close I got up and started to pace in front of the fireplace.
"So what is your plan?" Harry asked
"To put Umbridge in her place." I said
"And how do you plan on doing that?" Harry asked
"By appearing as Lady Hogwarts, and showing what messing with my students means." I said
"Can I come and watch?" Harry asked
"I don't see why not." I said
It was the next night right after breakfast so Harry and I made our way towards Umbridge's office. I looked at Harry and used the mist to cover him so Umbridge wouldn't be able to see him. I then let the mist cover me so I would appear different to her. I knew she had a class going on which was the perfect time. The doors were closed so I sent a blast of magic at them and they exploded open. As I stepped in all the candles in the room blew out and as I walked into the room it made it cold. Umbridge paled as she looked at me and as I advanced.
"Do you remember me?" I asked my voice laced with mist
Umbridge didn't say anything.
"Answer me." I yelled
As I yelled some of the stuff in the room shakes.
"Yes." she said
"Who am I?" I asked
"L-Lady H-H-Hogwarts." She said
"Do you remember what we talked about the last time I appeared in front of you?" I asked
"Yes." she said
"You didn't listen." I said
"I did too. I haven't made any new rules without your permission." Umbridge said
"I did not give you permission for the squad you created nor for the children to not be allowed within 5 feet of each other. And I most certainly did not give you permission to bring a dark object into my school." I said
She takes a step forward.
"I will not be talked to like this. I am the Headmistress of this school and you are nothing but a problem. I will have you removed from these halls." She said
I sent her a glare and threw her across the room. I then held her there with my magic.
"It seems that you cannot be bothered to listen or learn from the past. I told you that I could remove you if you stepped out of line. I told you the Ministry has no power within the walls of this school. Using a blood quill on students is not something that should be allowed, and used on first years should lead you to a sentence in Azkaban. But I'm not the Minister so I can't send you there but I can and I will send you out of my castle." I said
"You can't." she said
I snapped my fingers and a few house elves appeared.
"Please clean out Umbridge's office and anywhere she may have her stuff. Once that is done just throw it outside of the gates." I said
"Of course Mistress." they said
They left and I turned back to the ugly pink toad. I gave a smirk and turned around and started to head out of the room, Umbridge being dragged out behind me. I noticed that some students were gone, when we left the room I noticed that there was a large group of students and teachers outside. I continued out till we were all in the courtyard.
"What is going on here? Who are you?" McGonagall asked
I tilted my head to look back at her, my currently sold black eyes staring at her. She actually took a step back, I gave a sadistic smirk and turned fully around to face her.
"I'm Lady Hogwarts" I said
Whispers broke out across the students.
"Impossible. Hogwarts would never be so dark." she said
"I would be if there was a threat to my students. This pathetic woman thought she could come into these walls and harm my students. To use a dark object on them, a blood quill, and think that nothing would happen to her. She had been warned that if she did something like this I would remove her." I said
"I won't be gone long, the Minister won't this stand." Umbridge said
I turned back to face her.
"Then let him come, let him stand before me and I will remove him as I have you. Hogwarts is its own place, the Minister has no control or say in what happens in my halls or on my grounds. I think it is high time they understand that." I said
I then raised her into the air.
"Now, get out of my sight." I said
A big blast sent her out of the school grounds, and her belongings softened the landing. But none the less she was finally out of the school. I then turned and looked back at everyone.
"For the remainder of the year, Defense Against the Dark Arts will be split between remaining teachers. The Headmaster spot will not be filled until the start of next term. For now, no one is allowed into that office without permission from myself. From now on all of your teachers will be watched more closely, that was where Umbridge and I came to an agreement." I said
McGonagall went to argue, but I stopped her.
"Silence. I will not hear any argument from any of you. If you wish to argue then you can pack up and follow Umbridge out of this school. I will not let the children of our future be taught by any less than the best or to be uncared for. I have already demolished the Gryffindor house and started to rebuild it. I will not hesitate to do the same to any of the other houses or to the teachers themselves." I said
I looked around at the group of people and let the magic of the school and myself loose so that everyone could feel it. Then with a blast of magic, I disappeared from their sight and reappeared in an empty classroom. I dropped the mist from around me and I walked out of the room and over to Harry who had watched the entire thing. Everyone still stood there in shock at what happened.
"So how did you think that went?" I asked
"Well seeing as everyone is still in shock or aware. I'm not sure." Harry said
Fred, George, and I exchanged looks and they both smirked. Then they started to cheer about the fact that the wicked witch was gone. Soon everyone was joining in about that fact. McGonagall just looked perturbed at being talked at like she was a child. Harry and I turn and start to walk away when we are stopped by an elf that neither of us has seen before. The elf hands me a piece of paper and waits. I raise an eyebrow at him but I go ahead and open the note and quickly read it over before handing it to Harry, who reads it and hands it back. I quickly lit it on fire before looking at the elf.
"Tell him okay and we will get everyone there." I said
The elf nods his head and with a pop is gone.
"So what is the plan?" Dudley asked
"I think we should act like my scare hurts and then go from there." Harry said
"Sounds like a plan." I said
We move back so we are in the thick of everyone and making sure that certain people have eyes on us. Harry stumbles backward and falls to the ground. Dudley and I are quickly by his side, out of the corner of my eye I see Hermione looking at us. It takes a few moments but Hermione is now standing in front of us.
"Sirius." Harry said
He then stands up and moves out of the courtyard. Dudley and I follow after him, I notice that as are Hermione and Ron. We have headed up a set of stairs.
"Harry are you sure?" I asked
"I saw it. It's just like before. It's the door I've been dreaming about. I couldn't remember where I'd seen it before." Harry said
As Harry talked we continued up the stairs.
"Sirius said Voldemort was after something. Something he didn't have the last time, in the Department of Mysteries." Harry said
"Harry, I know we haven't been getting along, but please, just listen." Hermione said
We stop and turn around to look at Ron and Hermione.
"What if Voldemort meant for you to see this? What if he's only hurting Sirius because he's trying to get to you?" Hermione asked
"What if he is? I'm supposed to just let him die? He's the only family I've got left." Harry said
"What do we do?" Dudley asked
"We'll have to use the Floo Network." Harry said
As we were heading up the stairs. When we entered the only room in the castle that had a working floo which was Umbridge's old office. We were stopped by Snape, since none of us wanted to deal with him we headed outside. We were crossing the bridge when we were stopped by Luna, Neville, and Ginny.
"So how are we getting to London?" Neville asked
Harry and I exchanged looks.
"Look, it's not that I don't appreciate everything you've done, all of you, but I don't want any of you getting hurt." Harry said
He then pushed through them, Dudley and I followed after him.
"Dumbledore's Army's supposed to be about doing something real." Ron said
"I had nothing to do with that army of yours. All I want to do is save my godfather. And I don't want anyone else getting hurt." Harry said
"Maybe you don't have to this all by yourself, Harry." Neville said
Harry, Dudley and I exchange looks.
"Look they are going with you, why can't we?" Ginny asked
"They never betrayed me." Harry said
Everyone was quiet for a moment, Harry was the first to talk.
"So how are we going to get to London?" Harry asked
"We fly, of course." Luna said
In the end, we decided to ride a bunch of Thestral's to London. Which I found very funny seeing as only three of us could actually see what we were riding. We didn't arrive in London till it was dark outside which helped us hide.
