Chapter 54: Talos

Setting: God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Ancient Atlantis.

Narrator: When Kratos returns to the city of Atlantis, four statues of Poseidon greet him. A device is established in the middle of the platform. When Kratos reaches it, a description appears. It reads, "The power of the God of the Seas flows inside the Kingdom of Atlantis and is channeled at Nexus points spread throughout the city. When imbued with this power, the effigies of Poseidon can focus this energy to activate the structures and mechanisms around Atlantis." Much later, when Kratos returns to Ancient Atlantis for the second time, this time after activating all of the statues, he moves to activate the Eye of Atlantis. Suddenly, there's a rumbling. Kratos looks up as a giant bronze statue of a man appears wearing a spray-on himation. The statue grabs the side of the platform as the name "Talos" appears on the screen. Kratos stares stoically at the statue and takes out the Blades of Athena. A blue barrier blocks the exit, forcing Kratos into battle. Talos fought similar to the Colossus of Rhodes, mainly hitting and swatting attacks. Periodically, he would rip off a chunk of the wall and throw it at Kratos. Because of its armor, Kratos could only hit it with Thera's Bane. Any other attacks besides magic attacks prove to be futile. Eventually, Kratos weakens it enough to launch a final attack. Talos moves to slam his fist at him, but Kratos dodges and jams his blades into Talos' fingers. Talos lifts his fist up and glares at Kratos, who removes his blades and throws them into Talos' lower eyelid. Kratos releases his blades and starts to fall. Talos attempts to grab him, but Kratos jumps off his hand and spins in the air. Kratos proceeds to fall until he reaches Talos' ankle. In the middle of the ankle is a giant bolt about the size of Kratos. Kratos starts to attack it with Thera's Bane. Eventually, Kratos damages it enough to launch a minigame. He charges up Thera's Bane and jams the right Blade of Athena into the bolt. After a few seconds, it explodes, blasting Kratos away from Talos. At the last second, Kratos throws the blades into Talos' ankle and throws himself into the air with a spin. Kratos' blades dig into Talos' leg as his ankles and feet start to fall apart in a burst of flames. Kratos starts to climb Talo's body to avoid a fiery death. When he reaches Talos' hip, he throws the blades into Talos' arm and starts to run up to his wrist. He jumps back onto the platform as the rest of Talos' body falls apart into pieces, which falls over the edge. Kratos places the Blades of Athena onto his back as he heads for the contraption in the middle of the platform. With the Eye of Atlantis, he activates the statues of Poseidon, allowing himself access to the Domain of Death, where his brother, Deimos, awaits.
