CandyLuv99; Thanks for the review. As for Sherise, she knows that Kiara would still go so she figured to go with her then for Kiara to go alone. Glad you're liking the story.
Here's chapter fifty-four, enjoy!
Night had befall over the Pridelands. Casting twinkling stars, more than a naked eye could see across enormous dark blanket above.
Princess Starra walked through her home. Many animals were getting ready to call it a night as many others prepared to prowl.
Starra came across a hill with Simba sitting at the top. With a deep breath, the goldish lioness climbed up before sitting by the golden lion's side. It was a awkward silence for a few minutes before Simba exhaled through his nose.
"I almost lost Kiara and Sherise today." Simba closed his orange eyes. "It brought back memories."
Starra frowned as she pinned her ears. "Mama, told me after you and the girls got back, she had a talks with Sherise. Turns out, you're not the only one who had some bad memories today." Starra turned her head to look at her brother. "I want you to.know that it wasn't your fault. What happened to Kopa, regardless what Nyah said, it's not."
Simba scoffed. Starra turned her away with a depressed sigh. She hated that Nyah manipulated her brother. Made Starra hate her sister-in-law's sister even more than she thought possible.
With heavy sigh, Starra decided to change the subject. "What did you tell Kiara and Sherise?"
Simba lifted his head before looking at his sister. "I told them we are one. Amongst other things, I may have laid the queen card a bit too hard."
Starra chuckled before shoving her brother playfully. "You think? Those poor girls looked spooked when they returned."
Simba laughed lightly before looking up to the stars. "What about you?"
Starra smiled before joining Simba in looking at the stars, feeling a bit of a tug at her heart. "Even though they didn't follow Kiara and Sherise, they still knew. But I actually took a page from daddy. I told the boys that you don't go looking for trouble to be a hero and I told him about the kings and queens of the past."
" Queens of the past, huh?" Simba looked down with a raised eye brow. "I don't remember that talk."
"Simba!" Starra playfully growled. "It was actually Mwezi's question."
Simba nodded before standing with a stretch. "As much as I want to continue talking but I have to get up early and start Kiara's lessons."
Starra nodded before standing as well, she walked by her brother's side back to priderock.
~PP~
A few days after Kovu encountering Kiara, Zira set out with a few lionesses and Keres. It took three days for the group to venture to the Tree of Life.
When they got there, for them it was just in time to see Sãhasí and Ãnanda leaving with a dark brown lion. Tagging along was a young brownish cub. The lion had a large mane that was darker than his pelt with lighter stripes running through.
"Now or never!" Zira snarled before charging.
The attack was a surprise. No matter how great a fighter, Sãhasí and Ãnanda were they weren't a match for Zira and her group.
Zira pounced Ãnanda, taking the light brown lioness to the ground.
"Ãnanda!" a light brown lion roared. He was built like the dark brown male. With a dark brown mane and a few lighter stripes above his forehead.
Sãhasí growled and went to attack the pale tan lioness but was harshly tackled by a black force. Sãhasí groaned and went to stand but a large black paw struck against his neck.
There was a loud crack before the light brown lion slumped to the ground.
"Brother!" Surak roared knocking away the lionesses on him. To run to his brother's body. "I'll kill you!"
Zira grinned along with Fai and Nakiri. "No you won't."
Surak growled and went to attack Zira but Nakiri struck the dark brown male across the face. Knocking him unconscious.
"Stay away from my uncle!"
The cub growled and went to pounce but was swatted away by Zira. The brownish cub received a small gash inside her front leg and from the outcome of the hit, she flew into a rock and fell unconscious.
"We're done here," Zira sneered before heading back to the Outlands with the others following.
...
It's been a few weeks since the incident with the Outsider cub. Kiara has started to receive her lessons.
Kion against better judgement, chose four of his animal friends to be members of the Lion Guard.
Princess Sherise scampered through the Pridelands, on her way to the waterhole. She has her group of friends, her closet were Amanda and Joshua. Of course, Kiara and their cousins but they all were preparing to join the other guard that Malka and Luis were leading.
Which is something that has Sherise confused. Something shifted, that the dark brown cub just couldn't place.
A large figure ahead, suddenly caught the adopted princess' attention. Before smiling and ran over to the massive body of water when she saw it was one of the Guard's leaders.
"Hi...um..." Sherise suddenly didn't know how to greet him.
The light cream, black mane lion lifted his head and smiled. "What's the matter, princess? Hyena got your tongue?"
Sherise lowered her head while smiling lightly. "Hi, Luis."
Luis gave the female cub a warm smile. "Hello Sherise. What brings you out here?"
The dark brown cub opened her muzzle to say something. But nothing came out, Sherise turned her head away with a blush. "I..um...I forgot. It toally slipped my mind. Hehe,"
Luis laughed before looking up to see that it was a bit after noon. "I'm heading to the southern border. Would you like to join me?"
Sherise beamed brightly before nodding. "Yes!" before she blushed, looking down. "I meant to say...I would like that."
Luis chuckled and without warning, he tapped Sherise on the shoulder before running off laughing.
"Hey!" Sherise shouted before running after the king. "Not fair!"
A pair of hazel eyes were watching the second guard leader and cub run around, laughing, seeing a new glow to the light cream lion that hasn't been there before.
They growled at the pair before quickly disappearing.
