Oh, boy. I just uncovered what may yet to have been Rose Quartz' darkest secret. I returned to the Diamond Base on the moon and learned about another Diamond, Pink Diamond. She was the Diamond in charge of the Earth until the rebellion started. One day, Rose Quartz did something unspeakable: the shattered Pink Diamond in front of her soldiers, which is what caused all of Homeworld to retreat and lose the war. The news may have even struck the hearts of the other Diamonds, which is why they blindly blasted the earth with a combined attack that corrupted any Gem it came into contact with. Ever since then, all of Pink Diamond's Gems, including Jasper, were reassigned to other Diamonds. I'm glad the Earth was saved, but shattering a Diamond. Isn't that why Rose bubbled Bismuth before? What changed her mind? One thing's for sure: they may have won the war, but the Crystal Gems have paid a very high cost because of a very drastic act.
