Bible Teachings

Matthew 13: 1-23, Sower of the Seeds

Welcome brothers and sisters to Bible Teachings, here while going through the Bible we take this time to understand and hear what being said from God. For only the true words of his Holy Bible can we follow him and have fellowship with those that are followers of Christ. Before we start here is something that should be said, I know that from time to time I don't always update chapters everyday, Sundays I don't want to work because it's the one day or more specific 7th day we focus on God and worship him. Yes we worship our Lord Jesus everyday, but there is also the 7th day that's special to God.

I also want to mention if there is questions, or concerns your having express them in your reviews or PMe if you feel more comfortable talking in private. Here we are talking to not just followers of one country, we talk to everyone even to those reaching out from the other side of the world. There are many who need the light in their lives, here if you have problems express yourself and talk about it. If some are more personal or something drastic that needs the police, call them or talk with your family and friends. Bible Teachings is not some vigilante stuff that can call to arms or try to hammer down on someone. Here we try to give encouragement and comfort if there are problems in your personal life or lives of others your concern.

And to those who seek Christ for their life we are to teach and allow those seeking to learn what they feel are missing in your hearts and souls. For Christ is the truth and light of our lives, and as one follower of Christ we are not to hide the light, we are to shine in honoring and worship of God. There will be others who proclaim this and do not follow Christ fully, to know the difference is to seek his wisdom and knowledge in the Holy Word of the Bible. Pray for his understanding, pray for wisdom outside of flesh to your spirit and always pray no matter the situation or circumstance. For when you pray, God hears and he will answer. What his answer maybe yes, no or wait. God always answers, but we also must believe he will answer in humbleness and faithfulness towards him.

With that, today we are talking about sowers of seeds. Basically the terms "You reap what you sow" is not just figuratively but also in literal sense. But here in Matthew 13 we see what is not just sowing one seed, in fact Jesus describe this as sowing different seeds on ground. Specifically four types of them, there are seeds that fell on the path which is basically the walkway, another on the Rocky Place, some on the thorns and others on the good soil. This is is describing the teachings of God and how they effect us when we hear and see his words. Those on the path are pick up by birds and have their seeds taken, those on the rocky place grew quickly but are scorched by the heat and withered away, they did grew quickly yet died because of no roots. Then the one fell into thorns and became like the weeds, choked by them. Only the seeds on the good ground stayed and remained strong as they not only grew, but had much in 30s, 60s and 100s. We'll be going over what sowing these seeds mean and how they effect our everyday life.

Seeds on the Pathway, picked by birds

Seeds that are place in the pathway are usually seeds that haven't taken root nor had time to grow. This also is interpret as said in Matthew 13:11-23 has Jesus explained what he means and why he spoke in Parables to the people. Christ Jesus explained to his disciples why he speaks in parables to his disciples saying in v11-13, "Because the knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables: Though seeing, they do not see; thought hearing, they do not hear or understand."

What we can understand is that Christ is speaking how while we may hear and know about his words, but still not fully grasp what he's saying. Much of this is about our spirit and how we must willfully seek by listening and seeing what he has to say or show. At the time in his days, many have heard and seen who Christ Jesus is and why he had came speaking of words that are from Heaven from God. Yet many did not understand or ignored what Christ is saying as they harden themselves to reason of their own understanding. In this case for the seeds that are place on pathways and picked up by birds. Christ is saying when many hear what the message is spoken, yet do not understand the evil one takes them away. This is speaking about how many will not only hear the gospel, but will never understand and flee from God. In this time we have many who can hear God's word, but will not understand they will also not want to hear about it. We have many people that will hear and have been given many chances, but will ignore God or reject God in their hearts, minds, and soul.

As followers one of the greatest temptation we have to experience is not only speaking of God and his truth, but will try and gain peoples attention by disregarding God's word and truth. I can tell that some of those reading will say" it's my opinion and I don't want to hear about it" or reason with themselves "I don't understand this, I'm rejecting you and your words from God". Not literally but in your hearts you do say this and thought of it in some subconscious way. Folks when we claim as Followers of Christ and want to spread his word to the world. One of the greatest dangers we live now is when we want people's attention or be popular, it's the most dangerous for any followers of Christ because when we speak many will dislike you or persecution for following Christ. The latter is made real everyday as those following Christ will be tested and hurt the most, but do not be discourage for those before and after Christ were willing to endure these hard times, so should we of this day and age.

Seeds on the Rocky place, scorched and withered without roots

In Matthew 13 verses 18-23, Christ Jesus has explains to his disciple about the sowing seeds and what they mean when place there. For the Pathways its' how many who have heard the words and not understood them will be drifted off by the evil one. Now when Christ say evil he doesn't mean demons with horns, wings and tail, get that out of your heads. What Christ means is how there are not only people, but ourselves in how we are raised or how we chose to live for ourselves. Sometimes when mentioning the evil one, that can take many forms including people of those we care about or our mindset drifts us away. While verse 19 explains the first, the second is in the next verse 20-21 where the rocky place with scorching heat and withered away without roots is describing how many who have heard do change for the better and convert as Christians, Saints, and Believers with great joy. But then lose that joy without being rooted into his words and become worried by troubles and persecution of the world. Both Troubles and Persecutions are examples of scorching heat and withered seeds after they grown quickly. Yet when they die out that's our spirits withering because we had no roots to ground us in our pursuit towards Christ.

This has happen more then once and is happening now as many who can proclaim themselves as followers of Christ aren't actually followers, but instead lose heart when times are rough and they needed to be strong in God. Not only that some who try to live for God and this world are serving two masters, but those who serve two masters will hate the one and serve the other. In this case we will hate God and be part of this world. Many will rise to the occasion, but many will quickly lose heart and fall away from God. Don't be the one that falls into the Rocky place and lose yourself by the scorching heat and withered away because you had no roots.

Seeds on the Thorns, choked becoming like weeds

Another warning comes in the seeds thrown in the thorns. This is about how this life and wealth will coke the word and make us be unfruitful. Many who not only hear the words will have worries of this life as many who have before as faithful men of God. Christ Jesus goes further by saying those that fall into thorns will be deceived and the wealth of this world will choke his word. When saying deceived, it unfortunately means anything of this world without God will not only trick you, but lie about how you should live your life. The wealth also means of things that are considered more value then God's own treasures. Many of us will be trick and will find many treasures that will be on this world, but know that any value of this world can not only be stolen, but also rot away as this world is doom to die and destroyed when that time comes.

Folks I warn many of you and I truly mean anyone no matter where you come from or if you follower or non-follower. If you see anyone that use God to gain money or says things that disrespecting God's holy words or says what isn't right by God's standards. Avoid them and never follow their ways. They will not only deceive you, but will doom you towards destruction. As Christ has said, many will say Lord Lord did we not do these things in your name, and Christ will say "Depart from me, I never knew you." All of us have this danger that follows Christ but have not his word in us or the spirit of God. Do not allow your eyes be deceive you by sight, instead place your faith and trust in God through the unseen eyes.

Seeds on the Good Soil, growing in multitudes

When mentioning the Good soil, Christ is mentioning how we as followers of Christ when obeying him will not only be fruitful, but have abundance of life in us. Many times we are told about being fruitful in following Christ and as place in the good soils means we not only follow his words, but also obey his words, hearing what needs to be heard and seeing what we are to see. There are still those who are place in the good soil, and they are fighting the good fight. No I don't mean psychically, but spiritually as all of us are living the Spiritual warfare. Place yourself on the good soil, his words as you rooted yourself in God. Through him you not only be blessed, but will grow fruitfully in his presence.
