~Smee~
The little man in the red hat was pacing on the deck of the Jolly Roger.
He didn't want to be here.
He didn't want to face Emma when she remembered.
He had to get out of here.
Had he met her outside like she'd asked, perhaps nothing would have happened that night. His captain had been right to warn him. She asked him to meet her just after dinner. He should have met her. Hook told him to be honest with her. Smee got the impression that his Captain wanted to hear about it after the fact.
He was just too much of a coward to make their appointment.
And look what happened because of it.
Could he just leave?
He'd been loyal to his Captain for… centuries. His absence would be noticed. Then again, the Captain had been distracted lately. They wouldn't notice his absence for a while, at least.
Until she remembered.
Perhaps he could get his hands on another bean. Or simply follow Bae around until the overgrown boy found another portal. That child was a magnet for anything that could jump realms.
He'd have to leave the realm if he wanted to get away from this family and their coming wrath, especially with Regina in their ranks now.
No, he couldn't follow Bae. That would take time, which he doubted was on his side. He'd have to find another way out of here.
Soon.
He stopped his pacing only because he noticed the man in all black approaching the ship. It must be nearing suppertime, and the sun was starting to set. Perhaps now would be a good time to hop off the opposite side of the Jolly Roger. His captain probably didn't want any company, afterall…
