One week later
With the help of Draco, Adeleine had built the confidence to finally confront her father during the wedding rehearsal dinner. She had purchased a dark green dress for the dinner that in Draco's words, 'Made her bum look good.'
"Are you ready darling?" Draco asked her, knocking on the bathroom door.
Ginny and Athena were doing who knows what while Adeleine got ready. Her nerves were bursting through the roof and she couldn't help, but wiggle her body, to get rid of them.
"Yeah" she replied weakly, "I'm done."
The bathroom door opened quietly and Adeleine stepped out. Her hair was beautifully done in a braid crown and her silk green dress, draping down her legs with a large slit.
"So..." the girl twirled, "How do I look?"
"Breathtaking" Draco answered in a heartbeat and Adeleine blushed furiously.
"Now m'lady" Draco bowed, taking Adeleine's hand. "Are we ready for apparition?"
Adeleine giggled and nodded, "Definitely sir."
They had asked McGonagall for special permission to apparate out of Hogwarts and of course McGonagall had agreed. So, the two were making their way to the Headmistress office which was the only place in the castle that people were able to apparate in and out from.
"Silver tabby" Adeleine stated and the large griffin door swung open.
"Silver tabby?" Draco questioned, "Why is that her password?"
Adeleine gave a small smile and chuckled, "Because it's her animagus form, duh."
Draco rolled his eyes at his girl. "Yeah, and of course I would know that" he drawled sarcastically.
Adeleine laughed loudly, gazing at the blond boy with adoring eyes. She hadn't gotten the chance to tell him how dashing he looked in the suit, and she wouldn't be able to as McGonagall greeted them.
"Alright, hurry in" McGonagall rushed the couple. "You two know where you're going?"
Draco nodded as he was the one that was going to be apparating the pair, being as he was more skilled between the two in the art of apparition. Adeleine trusted that Draco wouldn't end up splinching her.
"Yes" Adeleine answered to reassure their headmaster.
"Alright, see you two back here by 9:00" she sternly said, pointing her finger mostly at Draco.
The couple nodded as they disappeared with a crack and arrived somewhere in muggle london where the rehearsal dinner was taking place.
Draco and Adeleine walked hand in hand into the building. The walls were painted white and the floors covered in red carpet. The tables were circular with white tablecloths and beautiful bouquets of red roses in the middle.
Adeleine saw her father up in the front of the room, on the stage with a tall slender lady. She had dark brown hair and was wearing a dark blue dress. Her cherry red lipstick was unmistakable throughout the crowd, her collar bone sharply poking out of her dress.
Oliver was making conversation with some of Pandora's relatives and getting to know them. Most of them knew him as the famous quidditch player for Puddlemore United and he was fascinated to learn that a few of them were Aurors or worked for the Ministry.
"Excuse me," Oliver apologized to the man he was talking to as he made his way towards Adeleine.
"Oli!" Adeleine shouted and Oliver's eyes went wide.
"I-I thought you weren't coming" Oliver stammered from shock as he was engulfed in a hug.
"I wasn't going to, but," she nudged Draco's arm and smirked, "He convinced me to."
Oliver nodded with a chuckle, "Well I guess I have you to thank mate."
Draco gave a stiff nod as Oliver pat his back in thanks before he went to go reconcile with his wife. Adeleine walked to her mother who had gotten trapped in a deathly conversation with one of Pandora's distant cousins grandmothers.
"And I told her, Anne you're crazy" the elder lady chuckled like she had said the funniest thing ever.
Adeleine's mother nodded weakly, giving a fake laugh. Her eyes went wide when she saw Adeleine approaching her, thanking the lords that her daughter was sent from the heavens to save her from the dreadfully boring conversation.
"Hi mom," Adeleine waved shyly and her mother let out a squeal of surprise before taking the girl into her arms.
"Adeleine!" her mother shouted, "I thought you weren't going to come, but I'm so glad you're here. I was stuck talking to that dreadful woman for 40 minutes about how she lost her teeth in the soup during the last wedding she went to."
Adeleine chuckled at her mother, releasing her from the hug.
"And my, you look wonderful darling" her mother complimented. "Now, tell me who this dashing gentleman is."
Adeleine rolled her eyes, knowing that Draco's ego was inflating because of that compliment.
"This is my boyfriend, Draco" she introduced and Adeleine's mother's grin broadened brightly.
"Oh, it's amazing to me you" her mother rushed to give Draco a hug. Draco went stiff, "Adeleine's told me all about you. She mentioned you were handsome, but she didn't do you justice!"
A smirk painted it's way onto Draco's lips as Adeleine sent him a glare. Adeleine's mother released him from the hug and shook his hand vigorously.
"It's very nice to meet you" her mother nodded her head. "Now, you two go mingle and say congratulations to your father."
Adeleine nodded as she watched her mother walk away to go mingle with ladies her own age. She intertwined her fingers with Draco's, becoming slightly nervous at the idea of speaking to her father.
"So, you talk to your mother about me?" Draco asked and she didn't even have to look at his face to tell that there was a smirk there.
Adeleine rolled her eyes, "Of course I do. You're my boyfriend and she's my meddling mother."
"On a scale of one to ten, how handsome did you say I was?" Draco continued to tease the girl and Adeleine groaned.
"11" she answered shortly and dragged her boyfriend towards the front of the room. "Now can we please move on from this topic."
"Fine," Draco grinned cheekily, "But if it's worth anything, I think you look rather ravishing tonight in that dress" he growled, his voice slightly raspy.
His breath was hot against her neck as he kissed her bare shoulder lightly. "I think the dress would look better on the floor though."
Her thighs clenched and there was now a tingling in her core. Draco merely grinned as he pulled the girl along towards the front.
Despite all the joking around, Draco could tell that Adeleine was truly nervous about confronting her father and gave an encouraging smile.
"Ready, darling?" he asked.
"Yeah" she nodded, and she truly was.
Adeleine walked forward, leaving Draco behind and tapped the shoulder of a man in a black suit. The man turned around and Adeleine gave a weak smile to him.
"Adeleine?" he questioned. "I thought you weren't coming to the wedding."
Adeleine nodded, "I admit at first I wasn't, but someone convinced me too." She glanced back at her boyfriend. "And your fiance is very convincing."
"What?" he questioned in confusion, looking at his fiance who sent him a wink.
"She wrote to me and asked me to come when you gave up" Adeleine truthfully said. "This doesn't mean I forgive you, but it's one step towards the right direction."
Her father's smile was genuine and bright as he nodded, feeling slight tears well up in his eyes. Without another thought, he brought his daughter into a hug and Adeleine chuckled.
He wiped the small tears that formed in his eyes. "Well, do you want to meet Pandora?"
Adeleine nodded excitedly and she couldn't even remember why she was so nervous in the first place. She turned to where Draco was, signaling him to come over and he walked towards her.
"This is my soon to be wife Pandora" her father introduced, Draco standing behind her.
Pandora's smile was beautiful and wide. "It's so nice to meet you. I've heard so much about you Adeleine."
"And I'm looking forward to getting to know you" Adeleine replied and she truly was.
"Your hair looks fine, for the last time" came the yell of a voice Adeleine recognized.
"Oh, and here comes my daughter. I'm not sure if you know each other" Pandora said, waving her daughter over.
The girl stomped over, annoyed that she couldn't get her hair perfect even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Adeleine's eyes went wide, "Pansy?"
"That's me" Pansy sarcastically waved her hands.
"I didn't know you were her daughter" Adeleine said, her mouth agape.
Pansy yawned, glancing at her newly manicured nails. "Well, if you bothered to come to any of the dinner you were invited to, then you would know."
"Pansy?" The same questioning voice came and revealed Jackson Bleu in a suit, walking towards the black haired girl.
"Jackson?" Adeleine questioned, wondering what Jackson Bleu was doing at the rehearsal dinner.
"Oh, hey Addy" the boy greeted with a wave and walked towards Pansy, wrapping his arm around her torso.
Draco's face went stone cold as he stepped protectively in front of Adeleine, still angered about the time Jackson tried to kiss Adeleine.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, pushing Draco out of the way.
"I'm Pansy's date" Jackson answered with a boyish grin.
"I told you! It's not a date. You're just my plus one because it would look sad if I went alone" Pansy rolled her eyes and Jackson merely grinned at the girl.
It was obvious that it was not the case between those two and Adeleine's face formed into a shocked smile. It was definitely not what she was expecting, but it was a great turn of events.
"Come on," Pansy barked and Jackson followed her like a lost puppy. "I think I lost my earring in the bathroom."
Jackson's eyes went wide as he chased after her, clearly not going to find her earring.
"Pansy and Jackson?" Adeleine questioned Draco and he shrugged.
"It kinda fits though, if you think about it" Draco answered and Adeleine nodded in agreement.
"I mean at least they won't be bothering us anymore," Draco added.
"I guess you're right."
"Now that I think about it" Adeleine said with a small smirk and a suggestive voice, "I think I lost my earring in the restroom too."
Adeleine chuckled as Draco picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, running towards the bathrooms.
