Chapter Fifty-Four

"Can you zip me up?" I asked Edward as I walked out of our bathroom.

"Mm, how about I leave it unzipped," He said, grabbing my hips and pressing himself against me.

I swatted his hands away, "Not now. Zip me up."

He kissed my neck, "We got time."

"We do not have time," I laughed, "Now, if you don't zip me up, you won't get any tonight."

"Oh, good threat," he said as he zipped me up.

"How do I look?" I spun to show him my new dress.

"Beautiful." He smiled.

I had gotten a new dress for the occasion. Edward's parents were taking us out to dinner to celebrate our engagement. Without thinking, I looked down at my left hand and admired the ring. Edward told me that it was a family heirloom. It had been passed down in his family for generations now. It was Esme's ring, but she generously passed it onto me. Carlisle already had a replacement ring ready for Esme. I saw it today and it was beautiful.

Edward lifted my hand and kissed it, "You ready, princess."

I smiled and kissed him, "Let's go."

Tonight we were going to Obsidian. Edward and I had our first date here, I was excited to go back. The food was amazing.

Everyone was already seated, but as soon as we got to the table, everyone stood and gave us hugs. I'd already received a ton of hugs from the girls earlier today, but we did the whole routine again. Even Alec gave me a hug.

"Bella you look amazing," Alice said, "I knew that dress would look great."

"Thanks," I said, "I don't know why I doubt you. You're always right about the dresses I pick."

She beamed, "You just always need to listen to me."

The waiter came up and took our orders. Carlisle ordered everyone a glass of expensive wine, but I felt bad. Edward and I had talked about telling everyone I was pregnant, but I wasn't sure. I stuck with my water.

"Bella, Dr. Fuller mentioned that he saw you a couple weeks ago." Esme said, "How'd it go dear?"

I looked at Edward, nibbling my lip. He shrugged, leaving it up to me. I thought about it for a minute then sighed.

"Well, actually," I said, "It turns out that I am pregnant."

Esme gasped, "Are you serious?"

"I knew it!" Alice said, "Congratulations! We're going to have babies at the same time!"

Carlisle just smiled and told us congratulations, but his tone sounded like he already knew. Esme must've picked up on it too.

"Did you know?" She asked before I could.

He shrugged, "Edward may have told me a couple weeks ago."

I slapped Edward's arm, "We said we weren't telling anyone yet."

He chuckled, "I'm sorry. I only told my father."

He put an arm around my shoulders, but I pinched his thigh. He jumped but laughed, his own hand squeezing my thigh.

"This is so exciting," Rosalie smiled, "Emmett and I kind of have some news, regarding babies."

"Are you pregnant too?" Esme said, her large smile growing even larger.

"Well, close," Rosalie said, "The doctor found the problem. Apparently I have Rh-negative blood and it's what's been causing me to miscarry. But there's a simple fix to it. I just have to take these injections every month while I'm pregnant. The doctor's confident that my next pregnancy will be successful."

"That's amazing Rosalie," Esme said, giving her hand a squeeze, "I have a very good feeling this time."

Carlisle raised his glass, "There's so much to be excited for tonight. I must say, I'm very excited for the coming up months."

I chuckled, "You're going to be busy keeping up with the grandkids."

"Oh I can't wait," He said, "Esme and I have been waiting for such a long time for grandkids."

"You're about to get three of them," Alice said, rubbing her stomach, "Jazzy and I found a house. It's big, plenty of room."

The conversations tonight were lively. After we ate, we danced for a while. We switched off partners, giving Alec a turn to dance. He was a sweet kid. Edward really seemed to be taking his role as Alec's mentor seriously. I loved watching him with Alec. It gave me a little peek of Edward as a father.

"How about we have coffee and dessert at our house," I said to everyone as we left the restaurant, "I've been on a baking kick lately. I have a ridiculous amount of desserts in the fridge that need to be eaten."

"Sounds good," Esme said, "We'll meet you there."

"Dinner was great," I said as we drove back to the house.

"It really was," Edward said, "I'm surprised you told everyone you were pregnant."

I shrugged, "I figured I'd get it out of the way while everyone was together."

"Well, you know there is something we need to do before you have the baby," Edward said.

"What's that?"

"As you know, my family has a bunch of different traditions and what not." He said.

"Yeah," I said.

"I know this is probably quick, but we have to get married before the baby comes," he said, "It may seem crazy, but I want to honor my family's traditions."

"So, what's the timeline for the wedding?" I asked.

"As long as we have it before the baby is born. When would you want to get married? Honestly, I'm fine with whatever you want. As long as we follow my family's traditions."

"What traditions do we need to follow."

"Um, well, getting married in that old church. The baby being baptized after it's born. Stuff like that," He said, "Oh and this really isn't a Cullen family tradition, but my mom has this veil that's been passed down for like a hundred years or something. And she'd love it if you wear it. Just during the ceremony. But, you don't have too of course."

"That all sounds fine," I said, "Honestly, I'm not really picky about these things. I kind of wanted to get married before the baby came anyways. I figured we just go down to the courthouse or something. But I wouldn't mind a little wedding."

He smiled, "I know my family stuff can be insane."

"Eh, it's fine."

He nodded and grabbed my hand, squeezing it tightly. I smiled at him.

We pulled into the house, everyone else pulling in behind us. Everyone walked into the kitchen; it was nice, everyone laughing to hanging out. It was so nice to just hangout with everyone and not be worried about anything.

"So Bella, have you thought about any wedding ideas?" Esme asked.

"Nothing yet," I said, "I mean, I was fine getting hitched at the courthouse, but Edward said there were some traditions that he wants to follow. So, I guess we'll have a small wedding."

"What's your timeline?" She asked.

"Edward told me that we needed to get married before the baby comes. And I'd like to get married before I start showing. So, maybe we could throw something together by the end of April or the beginning of May. Possibly June, if I'm not showing."

"A spring wedding would be so beautiful," Alice said, "But we'd definitely have to get the details ironed out."

"You're marrying in the Cullen family," Rosalie said, "A small wedding isn't really possible. There's literally a thousand people who'll be offended if you don't invite them."

"Oh," I said, biting my lip, "I've never planned a wedding before. Oh god."

"Don't worry dear," Esme said, putting a hand on my shoulder, "We'll help you. We pulled Alice's wedding together in just three months. We've got plenty of time."

I smiled at her, "Thank you Esme."

We hung out for a while in the sitting room eating the desserts I had. And luckily I had plenty, so everyone ate plenty. They left at around two in the morning.

Edward kissed my neck as I tried to put the dishes in the dishwasher.

"Leave those baby," He whispered, "We can get them tomorrow."

I shook my head, "Let me just put these—hey!"

He didn't wait for me to respond, he just picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I couldn't help but laugh all the way up the stairs.

He tossed me on the bed, jumping in beside me. He grabbed my face and started kissing me. I grabbed a fistful of his hair, pulling him closer.

Before we could get any further, my phone started ring. I pulled away, but Edward grabbed me.

"Just ignore it," he said as he continued to kiss me.

I ignored it the first time, but seconds later, it started ringing again. I sighed and pushed him away.

"It's probably important."

Edward continued kissing my neck as I answered the phone.

"Hello?"

Little bit of a cliffhanger, but don't worry! I'll but updating tomorrow! Hopefully you enjoyed it! Don't forget to leave me a little review! Oh, and let me know if I should put the outtakes in this story after the final chapter, or if I should create a completely new story and put them in. I'm leaning towards adding the chapters in at the end. But, let me know!
