Chapter 54
There were several cracks as a large group of Death Eaters appeared suddenly, led by Bellatrix Lestrange. Harry seemed unsurprised by their appearance. Alex looked almost bored, but his expression was unreadable as ever.
"I was wondering when you would appear," he said.
"Everyone, those two are traitors! They killed our Dark Lord! Make them pay for what they did!" Bellatrix screeched.
"Damn it! We'll have to fight or we'll get caught in the crossfire," James growled.
Alex pulled out his wand, emotionless as ever as the Death Eaters descended upon them. James glared at Bellatrix.
"I'm fighting Bellatrix," he said.
"James," Lily said.
"I'm going to avenge Sirius," James said, gritting his teeth.
"Don't get killed," Remus said. "And don't let revenge consume you, James."
"I won't," James replied, rushing forward.
Remus ran after him, blasted Death Eaters out of the way so James could get through.
"Oh my, so interesting~" Harry purred.
Alex leapt onto the rock effortlessly, kicking away a Death Eater that grabbed at his foot. The trio stood back to back, fighting off the Death Eaters. The majority of the small army was going after the twins while the rest were attacking the trio and Order members.
Alex killed a couple of Death Eaters casually.
"What's the plan?" he asked.
"For now? Get rid of the rest of the Death Eaters. They are only incompetent fools blindly following the person with the most power," Harry said. "We'll start with that."
"You don't have a plan, do you?"
Harry smiled slightly.
"I didn't say that," he said.
James threw a spell at Bellatrix. She cackled as she blocked it.
"Ickle Potter came to play!" she exclaimed, grinning madly. "How fun!"
"I'll kill you! You killed my best friend and now you'll pay with your life!" James shouted angrily.
Bellatrix blinked.
"Which best friend? You'll have to be more specific. I'll kill many best friends," she said, her eyes swirling with insanity.
"Sirius Black! You remember now?!" James demanded. "You killed him in the Ministry!"
Bellatrix frowned.
"I didn't kill Sirius. I'm pretty sure I would remember killing my own cousin." she said.
"Like hell you didn't kill him!" James snarled.
Bellatrix blocked another spell.
"Are you sure you haven't been lied to? Just so you know, I was nowhere near the Hall of Prophecies at the invasion of the Ministry. I was by My Lord's side the entire time," Bellatrix said, glaring at him. "While I want to say I had the pleasure of killing my dear cousin, I unfortunately did no such thing."
James dodged a curse.
"If you didn't kill him, then who did?!" he demanded.
"How should I know?" Bellatrix snorted. "If it was anyone, it was-
There was a green flash. Bellatrix collapsed to the ground, dead. James whirled around to see Alex lowering his arm. Harry tilted his head and pouted slightly.
"Why'd you do that? It was just getting interesting, Alex," he said, poking his twin in the side.
"She's said too much," Alex said. "Besides, I would've eventually killed her. She's a very annoying person."
"Fair point, but now I have to reveal what truly happened," Harry said.
James blasted a couple more Death Eaters out of his way, glaring at the twins.
"What happened?!" he demanded. "What was she about to say?!"
"You're very demanding," Harry said.
"Tell me!" James yelled.
In a fury, he flew into the battle, punching several Death Eaters unconscious out of anger.
"Watch out!" Eric exclaimed, stunning a Death Eater that was about to tackle James to the ground.
Alex killed several Death Eaters. The rest soon retreated, seeing they were outmatched. James didn't care; he focused on Harry.
"What happened that night?" he growled. "You were with Sirius. What happened?! I want the truth!"
"The truth? Well, that's simple. I killed him," Harry said.
James froze. Harry smirked, chuckling darkly. The others looked horrified.
"Why?" Remus choked out.
"That night, Sirius and I found the prophecy. However, it wasn't as we expected. Sirius discovered something he shouldn't of, so I killed him. Of course, I was already going to kill him because of something else, but him knowing about the prophecy was another good reason to kill him." Harry said. "I then pinned his murder on Bellatrix since I know she's wanted to kill her cousin for a long time. It's that simple and all of you believed it, even if the way Sirius was killed was very skeptical since it really isn't Bellatrix's style. But you guys were the ones who chose to believe it, so that one's on you."
"You...you killed my best friend," James choked out, his voice strained.
Harry hummed.
"It isn't that big of a deal. His death was inevitable anyways, either by my hand or Bellatrix's. At least with me, he got a painless death," he said. "Bellatrix would've tortured him first."
"He trusted you! He let you have that locket you found!" Ron exclaimed. "How could you betray him like that?!"
"Dense, aren't they, Alex?" Harry stated. "I'm sure you've realized that locket was actually a Horcrux, and I would've taken it either way."
"Sirius scanned it and he didn't find anything dark about it though," James said, gritting his teeth.
"Yes indeed, because I made a replica," Harry said. "The real one is destroyed though, so don't worry about it. As for Sirius, he trusted too easily. That's why it was easy to kill him. All of you trust too easily and that's why you weren't able to see Alex and I were your enemies until it was too late."
Harry laughed.
"Face it, you all lost from the very beginning!"
"What about the prophecy? Has it been fulfilled then since You-Know-Who is dead?" Lily asked.
Alex snorted. Harry laughed again.
"You are all so naïve. You wish to know the truth behind the prophecy? I will tell you," Harry said.
"What are you talking about?" a new voice asked.
They all looked over to see Dumbledore.
"Albus! Did you find the students?" Remus asked.
"Yes, they are safe," Dumbledore said. "Now then, you know about the prophecy? I assume you've heard the entire thing then Harry."
"Indeed," Harry said. "I can tell why you would be confused with who the Dark Lord the prophecy speaks of truly is. You all assumed the Dark Lord was Voldemort."
Harry cackled.
"But you got it all wrong," he said.
"What are you talking about?" Dumbledore asked, frowning.
"The prophecy was never about our father," Alex said.
"Sirius read the label of the prophecy. The rest of the details were correct...but one name was wrong. When I realized the truth, I had to kill Sirius. Simply Obliviating him would be pointless since it can be detected. If he remembered, he would tell everyone about it. Killing him was a better solution." Harry said. "Don't worry though, Potter, you're still the Chosen One."
Eric frowned.
"But if I'm not supposed to be fighting You-Know-Who, then who am I supposed to defeat? What is the prophecy really about?"
Harry smiled.
