Jayce sits with Crosshairs for an hour before feeling ready for a nap. Bulma assures the bots Jayce is still recovering from malnutrition. However, depression could still be playing a role in how tired she is. They didn't think Drift would wake up.
"What is this, you just know we're going to be talking about Jayce and J.R.?" Crosshairs jokes as Drift sits up. Crosshairs sits on the bed and moves Jamie onto his lap, "my turn."
It may seem strange that holding their friend who's still unconscious and very sick makes the two mechs happy, but the others are happy seeing Crosshairs and Drift smiling.
"So, are we separating them?" Crosshairs asks though he hates he has to ask, "J.R. is angry at Jayce, but also worries about her."
"Let them stay here," Bulma insists, "seeing Drift holding Jamie makes them happy. I think J.R. is more worried than angry at Jayce."
"Your turn to nap with her," Drift smiles before kissing Jamie and walking out of the building, vwhich does worry the others. Bulma goes to see what he's going to do.
Bulma watches Drift sit under the carport. Even if he's going to try to meditate, she still sat next to him.
"Are you ok?" She asks.
"I-I don't know," Drift sighs, "Jamie is getting better, but Jayce and J.R. are still struggling. I worry about how much Jamie will struggle when she wakes up and if she sees the girls not eating; she'll realize how much this has affected then and I know she already hates needing so much care when she goes through any level flare-up."
Bulma hugs him, "and we've been working on taking care of the girls' struggles. It's hard to know how they'll be when Jamie wakes up, but that'll help a lot."
"I just hope this never happens again."
Bulma leaves Drift alone as he tries to meditate.
Crosshairs is already asleep when Bulma returns. She knows Jayce would love to have a picture; she takes one and sends it to Jayce and J R.'s phones.
They'll love seeing this later. I could remove the app that opens the portals, but there's pictures with Jamie on their phones. I don't think they're ready mentally to have their phones back. Bulma thinks as she takes a couple more pictures.
A half-hour passes before J.R. is awake. She's happy to see Crosshairs taking a nap with Jamie, but worries about Drift. She didn't know Drift is behind her until he turns her around and hugs her.
"This nightmare will be over soon," he assures her, "come on, Jayce will be asleep for a while and you need to eat."
J.R. ate the instant ramen, hoping Jayce will also eat when she wakes up. She knew Bulma and Drift could get her to eat, but this will not work when Jamie wakes up.
She's going to be afraid I'll yell at her again. I created a new problem. J.R. dreads.
J.R. tells Drift she should go back to Bulma's dimension, worried Jayce will be afraid she'll get yelled at and it's not going to help her mental recovery. Drift isn't sure what to think. At least she didn't say she wants to go home, but will this really help Jayce? Hurt J.R.'s recovery?
This is something Drift can't decide without talking to Bulma, which J.R. did not like.
"You and Crosshairs know if something is working or not, but you do understand, J.R., if Jayce is really scared you'll yell at her, You need to resolve this," Bulma explains.
"We should stay here at least until Jayce wakes up," Drift suggests.
They didn't have to wait long before Jayce wakes up. Both girls don't know if they should say something or stay away from each other. Jayce sees Crosshairs asleep with Jamie on him and smiles.
J.R. sees Bee and tries to get him to go with her to Bulma's dimension which concerns Jayce. She rushes to her and hugs her. J.R. doesn't know what to say and can't keep herself from crying. Crosshairs hears her and watches what's going on.
You are not as healed as I thought. He observes.
Then it dawns on him; what if Jamie is hearing all this? How could he get the girls to go back to Bulma's dimension without frightening them?
Bumblebee and Drift help Jayce get J.R. to stop crying
"Come on, let's go back," Jayce whispers, thinking Crosshairs is still asleep. Drift doesn't argue with this decision or that he'll be staying here while Bee and Hound take the girls back to Bulma's dimension. He knows Crosshairs was woken up by J.R.'s crying. Drift sits on the chair by the bed.
"What a fragging nightmare," Drift sighs in frustration.
Since he's lying on the bed with Jamie on top of him; all Crosshairs can do is take Drift's hand. The two sit in silence.
Bumblebee and Hound get the two girls to watch T.V. though J.R. is still upset and side hugging Jayce as the two sit on the couch.
"It's ok, I know you're mad at me. I'm sorry I scared you."
"How is you being dead going to solve anything? You don't think I've been hurting watching this shit?"
Jayce doesn't know what to say. They watch T.V. trying to think Jamie is getting better; Crosshairs and Drift are happy to be holding her.
Bulma watches Crosshairs and Drit unaware Cade walked into the building.
"What's wrong?" He asks, still worried there's bad news about Jamie and Bulma can't get herself to tell Crosshairs and Drift. .
"With Jamie waking up soon, I realize I probably should tell the Autobots — or at least Crosshairs and Drift — and maybe Jayce and J.R. about what Jamie typically does when waking up... and the possible differences this time," Bulma explains.
"You're going to have to at least tell me and the Autobots. We can keep Jayce and J.R. away from here for a while."
Cade insists Bulma talk to Crosshairs and Drift now.
Of course the two mechs don't like what will and may happen, but try to think it's better than a discussion about letting Jamie go.
They agree with Cade to hold off letting Jayce and J.R. see Jamie for a few days, though they think recoveries at Capsule Corp. would be better for Jamie.
"You remember Vegeta thinking sensing Jamie's energy can help the girls? I think he's right, add Jamie will be awake," Drift explains.
Crosshairs agrees with this idea, but both mechs aren't sure if moving Jamie now is a good idea. They decide to talk to Jayce and J.R.; knowing they can tell how a decision will affect the girls during the conversation.
The four of them go back to Bulma's dimension ninety minutes later to talk to everyone.
Bumblebee, Hound, Jayce and J.R. feel sad hearing how Jamie will likely be when she wakes up; even though Bulma adds it's for a short period of time. All four of them hope Jamie doesn't end up in short comas. The problem is Jamie's condition is complicated right until she fully recovers.
The girls are mixed about this decision; they like sensing her energy, but they don't want to watch her still struggle. They know they can choose not to see her, but they also know they wouldn't be able to stay away from her.
"This will be good for Jamie. She'll need our support when she wakes up," Bulma points out before leaving the room.
"Go back with her," Cade tells Crosshairs and Drift, smiling before sitting between Jayce and J.R. who didn't mind, as Crosshairs and Drift rush to catch up to Bulma.
"Hold off for a couple of days," Drift tells Bulma when she asks if she's preparing Jamie to be moved, "Jayce still deals with nightmares, and-."
"And sensing Jamie's energy will help her," Crosshairs interupts.
"Are-are you sure?" Drift asks, worried.
"it's hard to know, but Jayce already has nightmares. This will either help her, or have no effect," Bulma explains.
Bulma, Cade and Crosshairs understand why Drift is worried about moving Jamie; they know they could be wrong and the girls could respond negatively.
"Tomorrow," Drift nervously insists.
Crosshairs and Drift sit on Jamie's bed; Drift holding Jamie. Bulma and Cade leave the building.
Crosshairs and Drift stay with Jamie for three hours before going back to Bulma's dimension; hoping the girls will eat dinner.
They tell the girls, Bee and Hound the plan for tomorrow. Bee, Hound and J.R. like the idea, but Jayce is scared.
"She'll be ok, you know Bulma wouldn't move Jamie if she could have a serious setback," Drift tries to assure her.
"You know he'll be with his girl most of the day, and Bulma will be here," Crosshairs adds.
"Jamie will be ok here," Bulma assures them.
Jayce still isn't sure; the others drop the subject, but Jayce and J.R. know they're still going to move Jamie here.
The two girls go with Crosshairs and Drift to the kitchen to eat dinner. The two mechs cook dinner for everyone, hoping Jayce and J.R. will eat better than they have been.
It's a mix of happiness and sadness at dinner.
Sadness Jamie isn't with them, but happy she's getting better.
The two girls watch T.V. for a few hours until Drift realizes Jayce has fallen asleep.
He puts her to bed, and Bulma starts another infusion.
"One more day and her numbers will be normal," Bulma tells him, "you want me to inject her with sleep aid?"
"I don't know...," Drift replies.
"I will for tonight's to avoid her ripping the I.V. out."
"Good, now you can sleep tonight," Crosshairs comments resulting in a pissed off look from Drift, "you need to sleep."
How are you not worried about J.R. having nightmares? Drift questions.
I do worry about J.R. having nightmares, but Bee has been watching her and he's able to sleep unlike you, Drift until he heard her cry. Crosshairs thinks knowing what Drift is thinking. As far as he knows, J.R. has been sleeping all night.
J.R. watches Bulma inject Jayce, hoping Crosshairs will let her sleep in the room.
"Let her, I'll be here," Bumblebee argues.
Crosshairs doesn't understand why J.R. wants to sleep in the same room as Jayce when Jayce will be asleep all night, but he let's her sleep in the same room.
With the girls asleep, Crosshairs and Drift go back to the junkyard with Bulma. They sit on Jamie's bed as Drift holds Jamie. Everyone is happy she's doing well on 40% oxygen support, but worry she won't do well at a lower rate.
Drift worries about her slow heart rate; worried it's a sign of heart damage.
Bulma would know by now, would she? Drift wonders.
He tells Crosshairs he wants to stay with Jamie overnight; Crosshairs isn't sure if it's a good idea with his nightmares, but he knows being with Jamie makes him happy.
Crosshairs stays an hour before going back to Bulma's dimension. Drift had no problem falling asleep with Jamie on him.
