Not wanting to go back to sleep and risk revisiting the wretched dream, but also not wanting to wake Steve, or anyone else, Bucky sat patiently on the side of his bed and waited for dawn.
Just after first light, he raised a hand to knock on the door leading to Steve's room, but hesitated, hearing his friend's quiet breathing, obviously still fast asleep.
Deciding to let Steve rest, Bucky picked up the tray of last night's dirty dishes and stepped out into the hallway, hoping he could find the kitchen.
The least he could do was wash the dishes.
