As the dragons went to the fourth realm, they were a few things going on in Dragon Realm.
Ignitus crossed his arms and walked left and right. His tail slid on the ground as he grumbled something.
Lateef and Cosmos watched the red dragon who seemed worried sick.
The Magic Crafter asked, "What is going on with him? How can he be that worried for Spyro? He never helped the Artisans to raise him."
"I cannot answer that. I have the answers, but cannot," the Dream Weaver replied.
"What a-" the green dragon stopped in mid sentence. He observed the face of the red dragon, "So obvious. No wonder he is worried sick like that."
"Don't tell anyone Cosmos. This secret is important for Spyro safety. It will be revealed soon to every dragon," Lateef replied.
The day was slowly coming to an end.
Ignitus quickly approached the two, "Lateef. When the nights comes and the dragon are sleeping… Can I speak with Spyro?"
"No," the dragon in question gave a dead-panned answer.
The red dragon went from surprise to anger, "W-why?"
"Because it's better to not disturb him. Something happened in one of his previous dream and someone overtook his dream. I need to focus on watching it. Maybe whoever did this might do it again," he crossed his arms. He sighed, "Besides. Spyro will ask why you want to talk to him. Want to break his focus in that dangerous realm?"
"N-no. Then let me talk with Nestor. I need to give him a piece of my mind! I need to tell him what I think of all of this! It is eating me inside to wait and say everything about this," Ignitus admitted loudly.
The dragons turned towards them.
Lateef grumbled quietly and nodded, "Yeah. Nestor will be able to focus on his task. Just remember what we said earlier."
"I won't forget. I just need to vent this out… Thank you," the red dragon nodded.
"You've changed in 12 years Ignitus," Argus commented as he thought back.
"Yeah. I can't stay the same," he replied to the chubby blue dragon. He turned around and stopped, "A-another watermelon?"
"It's my watermelon regime," he replied.
"And you changed too. Just on what you eat a lot," Ignitus replied seriously. The next second, he had the remaining of a watermelon on his face.
Chapter 54: The Escape
In the castle of the Sorceress, in the lower section, Hunter was still in his cage. He sighed as he tapped the bars with his hands. He didn't know how long he was stuck there. He just knew it was a while.
"Is my end coming soon?" he asked himself. The cheetah knew that his friend Spyro would come to save him at the last second. He didn't have to worry about it. Still, he rather not be saved at the last second. He would be destroyed.
He heard a door opening. He gulped as he thought that it might be his time soon. He calmed down a little when he saw that it was Bianca who came back.
"Bianca," the cheetah whispered.
"Hunter. I… I have to get you out of here," she took out her wand out of her robe.
"You change your mind," he smiled as she prepared to cast a spell to get him out of here.
"Yeah. I…" she gazed at the side. She sighed and prepared her spell, "I'm sorry. I know who The Sorceress truly is now. I can't let you in here or help her."
"What happened?" he knew she must learn something horrible.
"She is not going to save our realm. The baby dragons… She just wants their wings for a spell to be immortal," she said as she unlocked the cage.
"You know. They took the eggs twelve years ago. Except Spyro," Hunter said.
"No. I didn't…Believe that… I guess, she didn't have enough wings for her spell that time. Our world will die anyway with her having her immortality," Bianca grumbled while the cheetah jumped by her side.
Hunter stretched himself and grumbled a few seconds, "Thanks for getting me out of here. We should get out of here right now. I'm sure you don't want to stay here with the Sorceress around."
She nodded as her ears were on the back of her head, "Yeah. I can't let her get the eggs. She wants the wings and kill them after that. This is just too horrible," she gulped once, "It was so hard to just not do anything or not say anything. Anyway, we have to escape the castle. They are many guards and will arrest us," she sighed, "I cannot teleport you away until we are outside."
"W-why?"
"We are in the dungeons. We cannot cast any spells to teleport you out of here. We need to get outside of here where the spell can work," she replied as she went to the door.
The other one searched around. He found his bow and arrows and followed her.
They went outside of the room. They stopped and looked around for any guards. They saw no one and tiptoed outside of that room and walked through the corridor.
Bianca went a little ahead and checked if any Rhynoc was coming. She saw no one and gave him a sign.
The cheetah joined him.
They continued to sneak around until they managed to reach the exit of the dungeon. On their way out, Hunter noticed a little something strange in the wall. He didn't know what it was and it wasn't that important. He had to get out of there quickly. He didn't want to cross path with The Sorceress. Still, it was nagging him a little. He thought that if they came back, maybe he would notice Spyro and the other dragons.
"There. We are out," Bianca told him once they were outside and brought him back to reality. She prepared to cast her spell, "I'll send you at the portal that led to this realm. I heard the other dragons would reach it soon. I'll go elsewhere."
"But Bianca. You are a good person and you don't have to go alone," Hunter tried to change her mind.
"Sorry, but I have to return to my own realm and see if everything is okay. I can't trust The Sorceress words and I have to look at it myself. Maybe she has done something horrible and I never realised it," the humanoid bunny replied.
"I…" he sighed and didn't press on, "I understand. You need to check on your family too."
"Hunter."
"Yes Bianca?"
"Tell the dragons that I am sorry for everything. That I was an idiot for trusting The Sorceress. That she could save our realms. She doesn't care. I know none of them will forgive me, but tell them that anyway."
"I promise," he replied as he grabbed her hand. He wanted to say more, but they had little time before they got caught.
"Bye," she told him before sending him away. She sighed. She watched the empty space, "You are interesting Hunter," she let out a small smile. That smile when away as she grew worried for her kind. She casted the next spell on herself and disappeared from the castle.
The dragons passed the portal and reached the fourth realm. They walked on the green field and stopped at the spectacle upon their sight.
The Midnight Mountain lived by its name as it was the night. The sky was of different shape of purple. It was paler where the light of the structures illuminated. Far away, they noticed a castle.
"This is where, the Dream Weavers lived before we were forced to exile," Astor muttered.
"I cannot disagree with this. It's… It's even more wonderful than I expected," Titan commented.
They noticed a rainbow crystal.
"I feel like I'm dreaming," Spyro commented. He yawned as the atmosphere of the realm came to him.
"This isn't the night yet," Gunnar commented.
Flame yawned too, "We know. This is just… s… peaceful."
"Yeah. There is a serene atmosphere here. Still, the Rhynocs are around. Probably the best and the strongest of them all. Careful," Nestor commented.
"Hey guys!" someone said near them.
The dragons turned around. A few of them jumped back when they saw who it was.
"Hunter?" Spyro asked approaching him, "You're alright and out! H-how?" he shook his head, "We aren't there yet. How did you get out?"
"Yeah. How did you get out?" Malefor asked as he crossed his arms.
Titan grinned at the dark purple dragon. He saw that fella jumped back and playing tough now.
The cheetah scratched the back of his head as the other dragons were curious too, "Well… there is a lot to explain."
"You can explain," the dark purple dragon replied. He raised his hands, "We have our time."
Cheetah took a deep breath. He collected his thought, "Okay. When I was in prison, I couldn't do anything. Even the Dream Weavers stone couldn't lockpick the kail I was in. I waited for you to come, but someone came to save me. It was Bianca, the bunny who helped me escape."
"Her? But she is a bag guy who stole my siblings," Spyro grunted.
Nestor put his hand on the back of his child, "Go on."
"Yeah. She helped me because she saw the real face of The Sorceress. She did all that to save her realm, but she knows it won't be… Because…" Hunter then said the rest in disgust, "The Sorceress wants those young dragons' wings for an immortality spell and then kill them."
Spyro and Flame paled at those words. Horror was written on their faces.
"What?" Titan yelled in outrage. The other dragons were infuriated too.
They didn't notice a trio joining them as they spoke together.
Gunnar yelled, "They want our babies for their wings!"
"She found out about that forbidden spell?" Bruno asked as he joined the group with the other two dragons.
Bubba grunted, "That's it!" he punched his fist in his palm, "There is no going back until she is down!"
Nestor tried to calm down and use reason. He gazed at Astor for support. Alas, "That wrecked monster! She has to go down! Even if this is the last thing I-" he coughed loudly.
Malefor quickly came and helped his father support himself, "Easy dad."
"Thanks."
The dark purple dragon frowned, "Looks like you agree with me. Although, I didn't know she planned to something as evil as that."
Hunter raised his finger, "Can I go on?"
"Yes," Nestor replied. His muscles tensed. He didn't care for reason anymore. The others were right. The Sorceress had to go down once and for all. He knew the kids will only be preys for her until she got what she wanted.
"We escaped together when I noticed a little bit strange in the underground of the castle," the old mauve dragon raised his head and gave his full attention, "I don't know what it was like a little crack, but just a line that was just too good to be natural."
"That's irrelevant," Magnus grumbled.
"I know, but I just wanted to share it with you," Hunter replied.
Astor scratched his jaw as a small smile appeared on his face. Something was quickly coming back from his old memories.
"And when we were out, Bianca teleported me here after asking me to bring you a message," the cheetah concluded, "She is sorry for what she did. She did it because she was an idiot who believed The Sorceress in saving her realm. She knows you won't forgive her, but she wanted you to know this."
"She is evil Hunter. She wouldn't do that if she wasn't," Spyro nodded negatively.
Flame did the same, "Yeah. She wouldn't steal my family if she wasn't."
Malefor saw the youngling and their black and white view. He raised his finger and quickly interjected, "Unless she is a good person manipulated by evil. It is something that happened in many stories and in life. Good guys can do something horrible because a bad guy convinced them that doing something evil was good."
"R-really?" Flame asked.
"Yeah," the dark purple dragon nodded at him.
Spyro gazed at the side and scratched the ground, "F-fine. Maybe… Maybe you're right."
Zandor took his side, "It is true. Many tales have heroes confused or manipulated by evil."
The younglings had no argument for that. Still, they wouldn't like her.
Hunter concluded with a little bit of detail of his escapade.
"We don't have to search for him at least," Nestor commented.
"We still need to get rid of The Sorceress once and for all," Titan grunted.
Malefor didn't reply, but fully agree with him. She had to pay with blood. Tears would be a little extra.
"We should keep going then," Spyro suggested.
"Let's focus on the eggs first," Bruno reminded them of their mission. His staff hit the ground.
The Peace Keepers, Malefor, Spyro and Flame turned towards him with a why written on their faces.
The Carpenter nodded, "Agreed. If the Sorceress get any of the eggs, she will take their wings without hesitations. We know she won't get them alive. It is more urgent to save them first and deal with her later. Our family is still in danger."
The group reluctantly agreed.
After that short explanation, the purple dragon could only agree, "Let's go! We have to save our family!" he rushed ahead with Flame right behind him.
The elders quickly went after them while ordering them to slow down.
Malefor stood at the back, in deep thought. He sighed. The barrier was still there and it was best to save the eggs outside of it, "Best to not let her sins get heavier on her," he rushed after them.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: Agent-9
The group met with another prisoner of the Sorceress under Moneybear watch. Once they freed him, they learned that some eggs were located in Agent-9 Lab, under the control of the Rhynocs.
