Only one reviewer guessed what was going to happen! It ends on another cliffhanger, honestly, every chapter up until the last one ends on a cliffhanger. Sorry! But I will be reviewing again tomorrow either sometime in the morning or afternoon. Enjoy!

Chapter Fifty-Five

Bella was out of the car before I parked. I quickly ran out and grabbed her as her knees gave out. She started screaming, tears rushing down her face.

"Shhh, Bella, shhh," I whispered to her, holding her tightly.

"M-my bakery!" She screamed; her eyes were wide as she watched the flames engulf her business.

I pushed her face against my chest. I didn't want her seeing this. I wished I could shield her from it, but that was impossible. The building was completely consumed by fire. There was no saving it, though the firemen did the best they could. I squeezed her tighter.

She sobbed, her hands clutching my shirtfront. I wanted to tell her that it was going to be okay, but I knew this was not okay.

"Paul," I said as I spotted him on a stretcher.

Bella looked up, her face red and wet. She looked over and gasped, more tear flooding her face. Paul had obviously been attacked; he was covered in blood. But the fact that he was on a stretcher, uncovered, meant he was still alive.

"Oh god," Bella moaned, "It's all my fault."

"Shhh, princess, it's not your fault." I told her; it truly wasn't her fault. It was mine.

"Are you the owner of this building?" The fire chief asked as he walked up to us.

"She is," I said, rubbing Bella's back, "But I don't know if now is the best time to talk."

He nodded, "Of course."

"What happened?" Bella demanded as she pulled away from me.

"Well, it turns out one of the ovens were left on—,"

"But I didn't leave—,"

"We're investigating it," He said, "We'll need you to go downtown to discuss this with the police. Once we've done a full investigation."

"Wait, am I in trouble?" Bella said, her body shaking.

"It appears as though the building was set on fire. It spread too quickly for just a simple oven fire."

"I didn't do it!" Bella shrieked.

"She was with me," I snapped, "Get out of here. She didn't set her own fucking building on fire. Idiot."

He looked as though he were about to comment, but one look from me silenced him. I pulled Bella back into my arms.

"Come on, let's get out of here," I told her.

She sobbed again but followed me to the SUV. I had to physically help her into the seat and buckle it for her. She continued to sob as I drove us home. I picked up my phone as it rang.

"Yeah?"

"Is everyone alright?" My father asked frantically.

"Yeah dad, everything's okay."

"I'm watching the news now. Bella's bakery is on fire! What happened?"

"I'm not sure dad," I said, "Look I'll talk to you about this later. I'm taking Bella home."

There were cars lined up to get to Bloor street to watch the fire. It took us forever to get home. Bella hadn't calmed down; she sobbed the entire way. I did my best to calm her down, but nothing worked.

I ended up carrying her to the bedroom and laying her on the bed. I held her for a while, but she still cried.

"Bella do you want me to do anything?"

"G-get my Benzo." She said in a shaky voice.

I nodded and walked into the bathroom. She hasn't used this stuff in a while. I was a little concerned about the baby, but I wouldn't bring it up right now. One pill wouldn't hurt her.

"Here you go," I said, dropping one into her hand and giving her a glass of water.

She quickly swallowed it, then curled up on her side in the bed. I kissed her head several times, telling her how much I loved her. Within minutes, she was out. I tucked her in the bed and turned off the lights.

This stuff knocked her out. I had a good nine hours before she woke up. Which gave me plenty of time to handle things.

I got in my car and headed to the warehouse, making sure I locked down the house before leaving her. Someone was going to pay.

"Edward, I didn't know you were coming," Jack said, looking surprised.

I didn't answer him, I just unlocked the door and walked in. James was sitting on the bed. He jumped when I walked in.

I grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him down onto the ground.

"What the fuck!"

"You fuckers!" I screamed as I started slamming my fist into his face, "You fuckers are going to pay for this!"

"What the fuck is wrong with you? I didn't do anything!" He screamed, trying to fight me off.

I grabbed him by the throat, squeezing tightly, "You didn't tell me you were planning on burning down the bakery."

"I-I didn't know anything about it!" James yelled, his eyes wide, "I swear, I had no idea!"

I snarled, "What else is Caius planning. You tell me every fucking thing."

A Few Hours Later

Bella was still sleeping when I got back to the house. I wasn't surprised. I kissed her head and made sure she was okay.

Emmett, Jasper, my father, and Alec arrived shortly after I had gotten home. We immediately went into the study.

"How is Bella?" Dad asked, his voice filled with concern.

I shook my head as I grabbed my glass and filled it with scotch, "Fucking devastated. She's sleeping now. But earlier she was a fucking wreck."

"We'll build her a new bakery," Emmett said, "One that's bigger and has everything."

"It's not so much about the bakery Emmett, it's the blood, sweat, and tears she poured into that place. Having to leave the apartment was hard enough, but now, she's lost her business completely," I said, "And on top of that, the fucking fire marshal accused her of arson."

"Well she's innocent," Jasper said, "She was with us all night."

"I paid James a little visit today," I said as I took a long sip of my drink.

"You didn't kill him did you? We still need him." Emmett said.

"No I didn't kill him. But I'm sure he wishes he were dead," I said, "Apparently he had no idea that Caius was planning this. He told me everything he knew, but nothing changed. So, I'm guessing Caius has realized James is gone and he's changed his plans."

"Do you think Caius is going to go after Bella?" Dad asked, "James was the one who was more focused on her. To Caius, Bella doesn't have a dog in this fight."

"I'm not sure, but I'm not taking any chances."

"What are you thinking of doing now?"

"We need to get Caius. If we get him, then the whole operation falls apart. Once he's taken out, we take out the rest of his people. Make sure there's no lingering threat."

Dad nodded, "How are you planning on catching Caius."

"I don't fucking know." I said, "He's smart. No one's seen him in New York."

"My dad once said that he has a place in New Jersey," Alec said.

"Do you know where in New Jersey?"

He shook his head, "I'm not sure. But I know it's a house my grandpa passed onto him. My dad had the property papers somewhere in his office," Alec tapped his chin, "Actually, I think my dad was keeping tabs on my uncle. He had this big black book of information. He showed me it once and I remember seeing my uncle's name in it a lot."

"And it was in his office?" I asked, "Alec, my man, why didn't you say anything earlier."

"I just remembered it," He said, blushing.

Dad put his hand on his shoulder, "It's alright."

"We need to get that book." I said, "Emmett, do you think you could take a trip up to Vermont and get it?"

"Sure." He stood and headed out the door. I'm sure he didn't feel like driving all the way up to Vermont to grab a book, but he knew how important this was.

"I'll call Sulpicia, let her know you're coming." Dad said.

"As for now, I want everyone on lockdown," I said, "Caius burning down Bella's bakery was a warning. He's planning something bigger. I just know it."

"Now, you must tell Bella," Dad said, "It's time to tell her. She needs to be informed."

I nodded, "I'm going to tell her when she wakes up."

"What are you going to do if she doesn't like it?" Alec asked.

"I don't know."

"It'll be alright Edward," Dad said, "But please prepare yourself, if she doesn't accept this lifestyle."

I stared at the painting on the wall, trying to push those fears away.

Several Hours Later – Bella's POV

When I woke up, I found the room was covered in flowers. For a moment I smiled, thinking of how sweet Edward was. But then I was hit with the weight of reality. I placed my hand over my chest, thinking of my bakery.

It was gone. All of my hard work, just gone. I had poured everything I had into that business. Tears streamed down my face as I thought of everything I had done for my bakery.

"Hey," Edward said gently as he walked into the room.

I simply wiped the tears away and played with one of the roses that was sitting on the night table. He walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, taking my hand, and kissing it.

"Bella, I am so sorry," he said, "I swear to you, I will find who did this and I will rip their throats out."

I snorted, shaking my head, "There's no point. Nothing will bring my bakery back. It's all my fault."

"How is it your fault?" he asked, scooting closer.

"If I had just paid those men the money none of this would've ever happened," I said, feeling like I was going to sob, "It's all my fault!"

He was quiet for a moment, "Bella… I have something to tell you."

All of you have been waiting for Edward to reveal his family's shady side! In the next chapter, you get to see how Bella reacts! Go ahead and send me your theories! I love hearing them. Have a great day!
