More than a friend
Knock knock
"Ugh. What!?" Beca shouted half asleep.
"Rebecca." Emily said sternly walking into Beca's room.
"What did you just call me?" Beca asked sitting up.
"You heard me." Emily said crossing her arms.
"What do you want Junk? Why did you wake me up?" Beca asked agitated.
"Why? Let's see maybe because I have a five-foot eight girl in my bed worried that she did something to make you mad at her." Emily answered.
Beca rubbed her eyes "What are you taking about Em?"
"Why does Stacie feel like you're mad at her?" Emily asked.
"Dude how the hell am I supposed to know?"
Beca asked.
"Isn't she your best friend?" Emily questioned.
"Yes, what kind of question is that?" Beca asked back.
"Then you should know why she feels like this. Or at least talk to her because she's in my room freaking the hell out wondering if she did something wrong." Emily answered.
Beca feel back down into her bed and groaned "Fine, let me put something on." She said throwing the bed sheets off her and grabbing a hoodie. She followed Emily to her room where Stacie was still laying in Emily's bed.
Emily looked at Beca "Fix this." She said sternly.
"Geez ok I will." Beca said as Emily closed the door leaving the two alone.
Beca walked over to Emily's bed and sat down next to Stacie who was facing the wall.
"Dude what's wrong with you?" Beca asked.
Stacie didn't say anything other than giving Beca a shrug.
Beca sighed "Stace come on dude. If you're not going to talk, can you at least look at me?" Beca asked.
Stacie complied and turned around, so she was now laying down and facing Beca.
Beca gave her a small smile and moved a few strands of hair behind the other girl's ear.
"Why do you think I'm mad at you?" Beca asked.
Stacie looked down "I don't know." She said quietly.
"Stace?" Beca questioned knowingly.
Stacie began to fiddle with the strings on her hoodie still not making eye contact with Beca.
"Because you haven't really talked to me or hung out with me these last few days. I thought I may have said something or did something that made you mad at me and I don't want that. I wanted to come and talk to you, but I didn't want to upset you even more. So, I figured maybe Emily would know something." Stacie answered quietly.
Beca sighed and knew this would take a while so she simply lifted up the bed sheets and crawled in next to Stacie.
"Stace how long have you known me?" Beca asked.
"Almost three years now." Stacie answered.
Beca nodded "Exactly, and who do I talk to or spend the most time with?"
"Me." Stacie answered once more.
"Then you should know how I am by now." Beca said back.
She kept her eyes on Stacie and the taller girl simply nodded. Beca knew that Stacie has had problems in the past with people walking out of her life and taking advantage of her so she could understand where this was coming from.
"Listen Stace, I just enjoy my alone time. I enjoy isolating myself from time to time to just kick back and destress. It has nothing do with anyone, that's just how I've always been. Alright?" Beca asked.
"Alright." Stacie nodded.
"Hey, look at me. Please?" Beca asked.
Stacie lifted her eyes and stared at Beca in the eyes.
Beca smiled "I know what's happened to you in the past and I promise I'm not going to leave you. The way I am with you, I'm not with anyone else in the world. I don't take anyone to concerts, I don't check in on anyone, I don't cook anyone food, I don't ask people to hang out with me, I don't send people random gifs or memes and I most certainly don't have heart to heart talks with anyone but you. I do things with you that I'd never do with anyone else. You Stacie Conrad are special. You aren't just my best friend, you're more than that. You're my fucking other half dude and that's for life." Beca said reassuringly.
Hearing this brought a teary smile to Stacie's face.
"You mean all that?" She asked.
"Yea I do." Beca answered.
Stacie quickly hugged Beca.
"You don't know how much I cherish you and just how much that means to me." She spoke.
Beca chuckled and patted Stacie on the back a few times "I think I have an idea."
Stacie just smiled into the embrace.
"Hey about we go get fries and a shake?" Beca asked.
"But it's 10am." Stacie said breaking the embrace.
"So?" Beca asked.
"Screw it, let's go." Stacie said excitedly as she jumped out of Emily's bed.
"I'll meet you by your car." She said before exiting the room.
As Beca was getting out of Emily's bed, Emily walked into her room.
"Well?" She asked.
"All is good. We talked and now we're getting fries and shakes." Beca answered as she stretched.
"Great. Enjoy your time while I get my sleep." Emily said.
Beca nodded and walked away but stopped at Emily's door.
"Oh, and one more thing Junk, never call me Rebecca again. Got it?" Beca asked.
Emily shrugged "Whatever dwarf." Emily said with a smirk.
Beca groaned "I swear I'm going get you all back for the height jokes one day." Beca mumbled before closing the door.
