"Yoshiko? Can we talk?"

"Um... sure. What is it, Chika?"

"Well... um... I like you. And... I'd like to date you."

No. No no no. This was not happening. This couldn't be happening. Someone was asking her out. Someone wanted to date her. Someone who... wasn't aware... that she was trans...

Yoshiko was terrified. What did she do? Did she tell Chika no? Did she say yes and just hope she didn't need to tell her? Did she come clean and see if Chika would still want her?

Yoshiko knew she wasn't obligated to tell Chika that she was trans. She didn't have to do that, but she felt like she should. Even if only to put her own mind at ease.

Because, Yoshiko was afraid Chika could accidently find out the truth. That would be way worse than her just coming clean. So, she did feel like she should tell her. To make sure that wasn't a possibility.

"Um... I... there's something I need you to know before... I answer..." Yoshiko mumbled.

"Hm? What is it?" Chika seemed a bit concerned by that statement.

"I..." Yoshiko took a deep breath, "I'm trans... I just... would rather you know now than... after things might get serious..."

"O-oh. Um... it's okay, Yoshiko! Ah- is... is that why you ask us to call you Yohane?"

"Kinda? I haven't decided which name I prefer more yet. I just... didn't know how to get people to try it out without, y'know... telling them the truth." Yoshiko replied, her eyes downcast.

"Well, it's okay. My offer still stands. I'd like to date you. I really like you."

"You... you sure?" Yoshiko was doubtful.

Chika nodded, "Yep. I'm positive. I wanna date you. I don't care if you trans. You're Yoshiko. And that's who I love."

Yoshiko smiled, "Thank you, Chika. If... that's the case, then yes. I'd like to go out with you too."

"Awesome! Wanna go hang out now?"

"S-sure."

Chika had been so quick in her acceptance. Yoshiko was surprised. Sure, Chika probably wouldn't ever have a problem with her, but it still made her feel happy to have such unconditional support. And it made her happy to know she had a girlfriend now too. A girlfriend who accepted her for the way she was.

She couldn't ask for more.
