Todd came over to watch the construction. He gave the company a deadline, he had to make sure they were done in a certain time frame. Luckily everything seemed so be in order, the construction crew were currently ripping out the doors in the washrooms to widen the frames. Todd winced at the sight when he went inside, the sinks were pretty much gone, thankfully his toilets were still there.

Todd tried not to think how much he owed to his friends, even with all three giving him no time limit, Todd wanted to pay them back as soon as possible. He checked his phone when it vibrated. He smiled at the text.

'Todd, thanks for the great night!'

'You were the best company. Looking forward for a sequel.'

Todd and Suzanne. They had a great time at dinner. The chair never bothered Todd, with Suzanne, it was just like old times. Todd took her to the newly opened Sunset Bistro. It wasn't as fancy as some of the restaurants Todd and his dates used to go to, but according to Winston, the food was out of this world.

He wasn't wrong. Suzanne and Todd talked all through dinner. It was just like Vermont. Todd was kicking himself for losing touch with his old girlfriend, he and Suzanne drifted apart when he moved back to Sweet Valley. He rekindled his relationship with Elizabeth, and Suzanne got together with one of her parent's friend's son.

"How much time I wasted over the years. Suzanne, forgive me for ghosting."

"We were just kids. Even if you stayed in Vermont, we would have drifted apart anyways. I was studying my ass off for early admission at Columbia, when junior year ended my boyfriend and I broke things off."

"Same here. Elizabeth and I, we broke up after junior prom. We tried dating in college, but we drifted apart there as well." Todd tried not to think about how he treated her. She was having a rough time, and Todd treated her like shit. Like sleeping with Lauren Hill. Todd pushed the memory away. Especially what happened with Jessica two years later. He was lucky both twins were still speaking to him.

"Well, things happen for a reason. I didn't want to get sick, but here I am." She joked. Todd heard the pain in her voice and squeezed her hand.

"Suzanne. Suzy." Suzanne smiled at her nickname. Only Todd was allowed to call her that. "You are still the same girl I knew back then. Your diagnosis, it will never change how I see you."

Suzanne blushed. She rarely got dates, those that she did, most of her dates rarely made it to the third date. The only time she had a serious relationship was before she got sick. He pretty much disappeared off the face of the earth. Coward. She was surprised Todd asked her out, but looking in his eyes, maybe she wouldn't be lonely anymore.

Both Todd and her looked at each other before they kissed. They would have still been kissing if they weren't interrupted by their waiter.

Once they were done eating, Todd waited with her for her ride. Todd apologized for not picking her up, his car was in the shop again. Suzanne understood.

"Your car. Where would I put my wheelchair? It is about the same size as your BMW!"

Once her ride arrived, she and Todd went back to her apartment. Todd stayed for a drink, but he went home shortly after. He said he wanted to take their relationship slowly.

Todd wondered if he and Suzanne will work out. It was only the first date, but Todd felt like she may be the one. If he wanted to see Suzanne on a continuous basis then he needed to make some changes. Like moving. His apartment was small, plus had no elevator. Looks like he had another chore to check off.
