Amanda arrived at the crime scene 30 minutes later and met Carisi. Hey Rollins, he said, sorry I called you out, and sorry for interrupting whatever you were doing. She smiled, you weren't interrupting anything Sonny she said, just me trying to talk myself off the couch to go to bed.
So, what have we got here? He brought her up to speed with what had happened, and she groaned, oh this is going to be one of those cases isn't it she said. Yeah, I think so he replied. Ok she said, we'll go talk to the house owner again, see if they remember anything more, and then the neighbour. Then we'll head to the hospital and see if the victim is awake. Shall I call Liv? Carrisi asked. No, let's see what we can do between us for now, Noah needs her. If we need another pair of hands, we can call Amaro, but he's a last resort as he was called in last night and this morning. Yeah, he's probably in bed replied Carisi, probably why he didn't answer when I called him. She smiled, yeah, probably.
A few hours later Amanda looked at her watch. Sonny it's 2am, we can't do anymore. We need to get home and get some sleep. Yeah, he yawned, I agree. The victim was in ICU and the doctor told her that she wouldn't be awake anytime that night. They would call her if anything changed. They said their goodbyes and she drove back to Nick's. She quietly closed the door and headed to the bathroom. She put on her pyjamas and went and joined Nick in bed. He was sleeping peacefully and didn't move when she got into bed. She stroked his face softly, whispered goodnight and soon feel asleep herself.
He awoke the next morning to his alarm going off. He saw Amanda still sleeping so he silenced his phone as quick as he could. He lay back down and just looked at Amanda smiling to himself. She looked so peaceful. He got up quietly and went to the bathroom, when he came back out, she was still sleeping so he went and turned the shower on. 10minutes later he was back in the bedroom drying off and choosing his suit for the day, Amanda was still sleeping. He looked at the time, he would give her another 30mins to sleep then come and wake her. He lifted her phone along with his, gave her a soft kiss on her forehead and went out to make some coffee. As he sat down at the table, he began to go through the pile of paperwork he had gathered last night. Half an hour later he went back into the bedroom and walked to her side of the bed. Hey bonita he whispered, and stroked her hair, wakey wakey. She stirred and looked up at him and smiled. Morning mi rei she said groggily. Morning mi reina he smiled back. Time to get up, I've let you sleep in a bit later this morning mi amor. She kissed his hand and asked the time. Just before 7am he said. She stretched and yawned. What time did you get back last night? he asked. Around 2.30 I think, she said. It's going to be one of those cases Nick, I've got that feeling. Great he said sarcastically. He kissed her and stood up, come on, you go have a shower and I'll make a start on breakfast. She lay there staring at him, do I have to? she asked. He laughed, well yeah. Ok she sighed, you will have to help me up though or I'm staying here. He laughed again and pulled back the bedclothes. He took both her hands and said lets go my love, it won't be long until you're back here again. I hope so she said and kissed him. She headed to the bathroom.
15 minutes later she was out in the kitchen as he was plating up their breakfast. So, you want to tell me about the case or forget about it for while? She sighed, then started to bring him up to speed on what the case was. As he sat down to eat, he sighed, yeah, it's one of those cases he said. Hmm she replied, he took her hand and stroked it, hey he said, we'll get it done soon. She smiled, I'm glad we went shopping last night now she bit her lip again. Yeah, he smiled, just think of our cuddle couch he grinned, that'll get us through this one. She blushed and laughed, oh I've been thinking about it since we 1st seen it, he grinned that sexy grin, me too. They finished their breakfast and she got up, lifted their dishes and put them in the sink. She walked back over to him, he put his arm around her waist and pulled her in closer to him. She ran her fingers through his hair as he kissed her stomach and then her hand. She moved slightly and said let me sit with you for a few minutes, he smiled, moved his chair out and she sat on his knee. He looked up to her and smiled, then she leaned in for a kiss. Breaking away after a few minutes she whispered I love you so much Nick, he smiled and rubbed her leg with his hand, I love you so much more Amanda, and moved in for another kiss. After another few minutes she broke away and said, I need to go and get ready, yeah OK he said, I'm going to sit here for a bit. She looked at him with a confused look and he blushed, well I've a bit of a situation here he chuckled. She smiled and replied, let me take care of it baby. Amanda, no don't feel you… hey she said I don't, I want to, she stood up and said lets go to the bedroom, I have a feeling we won't see each other much over the next few days, He stood and followed her to the bedroom.
Half an hour later Nick was back out in the kitchen making them both a coffee in their to go cups. Amanda came back out from the room dressed and putting a bobble in her hair. She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed his back. She let out a huge sigh. He put the cups down and held her hands in front of him. You OK there my love? She loosened her grip slightly and he turned around, putting his hands on her arms and rubbing them. He kissed her forehead. Yeah, she said as she tightened her grip again and snuggled into his chest. He brought his arms around her and tightened his hold on her. I'm just trying to get as many hugs and smell of you as I can now, as we won't once we leave. He sighed and kissed her head, he took a deep breath in and said, hopefully it won't be too long. She looked up to him and said, hopefully, and kissed him again. Ok he said, we're already late baby, we need to get a move on. One more kiss and he handed her the to go cup. Thank you she smiled, see you shortly. You will indeed mi amor he smiled, and they walked out the door to their cars.
They both parked the cars beside each other and got out. A big smile across his face, good to see you again he smiled. You too, she smiled back. Just then Olivia pulled up beside them. They waited for her to get out. Morning guys she said, I'm glad it's not just me running late she said. Yeah, I slept in Amanda lied, Sonny and I were on that case till after 2am before I called it a night. Olivia looked at her, Oh, you went? he told me he was phoning Nick. Nick cleared his throat, yeah, my bad, I fell asleep and didn't hear my phone. He blushed it seems the kids tired me out more than I realised. Olivia laughed, yeah, me phoning you in wouldn't have helped either I suppose. Yeah, he said, apparently not, I didn't realise how tired I was. I didn't see Carisi phoned until this morning. I phoned Amanda to see if she had got the call, and thankfully he woke me up said Amanda, I'd probably still be sleeping now she laughed. Olivia looked at them both, so you stayed at your own houses last night? she smiled. Amanda and Nick looked at each other, Amanda blushing, yeah replied Nick. I had a few things to sort out at home and go through some paperwork. Amanda smiled, yeah, I had to do buy a few bits for the house last night so headed out straight after work. Olivia nodded, Ok, if you say so, Nick looked at her and said, you don't believe us Liv? I didn't say that Nick, I'm just surprised you both are still managing to stay away long enough from each other she laughed. Amanda blushed, well yeah we did. Plus Nick was tired after his late night on Sunday and early start yesterday so I wanted him to get some sleep. Just as well or he would have been up and out till the early hours anyway. They headed to the elevator and Amanda brought Olivia up to date with the case. Oh, it's going to be one of those ones she groaned, yep said Amanda, looks like it. Hey by the way how's Noah? Oh, she sighed, he's had no fever since I got home thankfully, and he ate some breakfast this morning. Good said Nick. Yeah, Barba's staying with him until this afternoon, then Lucy's taking him. They reached their floor and stepped out. OK here we go Olivia said, good luck you two. Same to you Liv said Nick.
A couple of hours later they were stuck into this case. Amanda was right, it was one of those cases, one where it wasn't going to be closed in a day. Carisi was getting cranky, Amanda was lost in thought, Liv was in her office on the phone hitting brick walls, Nick and Fin were out speaking to a possible witness. On their way back Fin said, Hey Nick, phone the office and see how everyone is. I think we all need a decent cup of coffee. Nick phoned Liv, and it was engaged, huh he said, can't get through to Liv he said, phone Rollins said Fin, she'll answer hopefully. Nick smiled as he hit her number, Right on cue she answered. Rollins… Hey Rollins he said, hey you she smiled, where are you? We're on our way back to the station he said, how's things going there? Ugh, not good she said, Sonny is going to get a beating soon if he carries on the way he is, and Liv is hitting brick walls…. And I'm tired. He smiled, Ok go and ask Sonny and Liv what they would like from Starbucks, Fin and I are doing a coffee run, oh yes she said. She shouted over to Sonny for his order, then heard her walk into Benson's office. Oh great he heard her say, a strong coffee, extra sugar, extra cream and a brownie please Nick she shouted. He laughed, Ok and what about you? he asked. A strong coffee please babe, and food? he asked, surprise me she said. OK, we're just parking up now, so we'll hopefully not be long he said as they got out of the car. Thank you she said, Te amo guapo. He smiled, Te amo hermosa he whispered back. See you soon he said louder as he joined Fin inside.
Fin and Nick put in their order and Fin insisted it was his treat. As they stood waiting for their large order Fin said, so how's things going with you and Rollins? Nick smiled, things are going great he smiled, really good. And the kids like her? he asked. Nick smiled, oh yeah, she was a hit with them both. Zara especially, and she was the one I was worried about telling. Fin smiled, good he said, I'm glad you two are happy. Nick looked at him and smiled, yeah, me too. Thanks man. Their order was called out and they both headed back to the car. 10 minutes later they were back at the station and Amanda and Liv giving them both kisses and hugs. Oh, honestly boys said Liv, you have no idea how much I appreciate this, Fin laughed, hey we all need a pick me up he said, keep us going until we can get some lunch. Yeah said Carisi, thanks guys, what time is it anyway? asked Liv, 11.30 said Fin, Ok, so who wants to go for lunch first? she said. We can do 12.15 till 1.15 and 1pm till 2pm. Or we can all go out for something together? I'm ok for a late lunch said Nick, out of us all I'm the only one who's had a full night's sleep, so you 4 work it out between you. Amanda said I'm ok with 1pm now I've got this to keep me going. Ok how about this said Fin, I take Carisi and Liv out for lunch at 12.15 then you two can go at 1pm? Sounds good to me said Liv, I need to check in on Noah, Sonny then said, well if it's not rude, I need some sleep, so I might grab a quick sandwich then hit the bunk room. Hey not rude at all man said Fin, Ok, so have we got a plan then? Liv smiled, yeah, we do. Thanks Fin. He followed her into her office and said, hey, who's got the little guy today? Olivia smiled, Barba has until 2pm she replied. Ok he said, give him a call and tell him to make us some lunch, I'll drive. Olivia smiled and sighed. Thank you Fin, I'll call him now. She shouted out to Carisi, hey Carisi, off you go and get your sandwich now, and you can hit the bunk room when you've finished. Carisi went to argue but he was too tired. Hey, tell you what, how about I go get you one? Nick asked. You need sleep man. Olivia then came back out, Amanda go you up for a quick nap too she said, no offence but you both look dead to the world. Amanda went to argue, no, off you go Rollins, take 30 minutes up there, Nick that's a good idea, you nip out and get him something then he can head straight to the bunk room. Nick grabbed his coat and said Ok I need to head up to my locker first to grab my spare gloves and scarf, I forgot mine this morning. Amanda, you follow him up ordered Olivia, and don't leave that room until she's in a bed Nick. He laughed, yes lieutenant. Let's go Rollins, I'm not getting in trouble for you today he smiled. OK she groaned, she followed him upstairs. He held the door open for her and as soon as she stepped in, he closed it and wrapped his arms around her. Hey baby he whispered, a quick kiss then a quick look around the room to make sure no-one else was there. Hey, she whispered against his chest. He gave her a more passionate kiss before pulling away, come on mi amor, go get yourself some sleep, I'll come get you later. Ok she said again, he could see she was almost sleeping on her feet. He guided her over to a bed in the corner. She lay down and he covered her up with the blanket, he stroked her head and whispered see you soon my love and kissed her forehead. She smiled and could only manage hmmhm. He went to his locker, lifted out his scarf and gloves and headed back downstairs. Is she in bed Amaro? asked Fin, Nick laughed, yeah, I don't even think she heard me saying goodbye. Sonny anything in particular you want mate? Surprise me he said and went to offer Nick money. Sonny you better put that away now before I get angry. Ok, Ok, said Carisi, thank you.
