Mustang HAD been walking around a hallway corner, he was pretty sure of it. But usually to walk you had to have your feet on the ground, not your ass. So it took him a moment to realise that the reason he was on the floor and not standing was because Ed had slammed into him at full speed.

"General! Grab Ed for me!"

Al?

Mustang didn't hesitate, Ed was always annoying him and Al was always an angel. He grabbed FullMetal's left arm and started to haul them both off the ground.

"LET ME GO YOU USELESS-urk!"

Ed had been trying to climb over him to get away and he hadn't meant to grab the kid around the waist in a death hold but god dammit if he would just stop wriggling around then he'd be able to see what the hell was going on. He finally had to use his free hand against the wall to get them both fully upright And it was a bit of a struggle.

"Ed!" Al had finally arrived and was clearly gearing up for a fight. Mustang envied the kid's energy, he wasn't even out of breath.

"I'm not going Al! You can't make me!" Ed continued to struggle and Mustang had to wrap both arms around him.

"Ed we have to go, they're just normal shots. Everyone has them."

Ed was still trying to pry Mustang's arms out of the way, the lack of automail was making it more difficult. "No! I hate needles! I-"

"EDALINE STOP ACTING LIKE A CHILD! We were supposed to get these years ago and you didn't tell me and we could have died! Get your ass over here we're going!"

"I. DON'T. WANT. TO-"

Mustang had a calm and commanding military voice which he'd been told was scarier than being loud, "FullMetal."

Both Elrics fell silent.

Mustang wasn't exactly angry, just slightly annoyed, but this was going to be the fastest way to get the results he wanted. Besides, he did have plenty of reasons to be angry because not only had he been knocked over, not only had Ed been trying to claw his arm to pieces, and not only had they been hiding their possibly diseased state, but he was pretty sure that the person squirming in his hold was a woman. Which wasn't even looking like a new development because Al had distinctly said, 'Edaline'.

He took a deep breath to calm himself further, "Here's what's going to happen, all of us right now are going to the medic building and both of you are getting all your vaccinations and ON THE WAY you are going to explain to me why your brother just called you Edaline."

Ed paled and stopped fighting so he threw her over his shoulder and raised an eyebrow at Alphonse. The younger sibling practically saluted before doing an about-face and heading off in front of him toward the military's medic.

They were both clearly terrified but that was a total win, no more shouting and he got to enjoy an Elric sized break from paperwork.

I'm going to get my vaccination for covid this afternoon. even if you're anti-vax, i'm almost 100% sure all your parents (despite their current views) have their vaccinations. after all, there were programs in place years ago where they went around to schools and just got all the students at once. that's how i got most of mine.
