Rick Castle can't stop looking at his wife. His carefree and joyful wife. So different, yet the same, as she was fifteen years ago when they first met. The laughter of their son makes it so much sweeter. He can't believe they have twin sons and a daughter. Fifteen years ago, when she walked through those doors and told him to follow her back to the station for some questioning, he would've never imagined they would end up together. Sure, he'd dreamed about it, plenty, but he didn't really think it would happen. But sitting here, in the sand, watching as Kate Beckett fools around with their son in the sun, makes him extremely happy everything turned out the way it did. He's also grateful he gets to see it all, experience it all with her. He still chuckles at the memory of how mad and shocked and confused she'd gotten when they found out she was pregnant with twins. God, she'd been so mad at him, cursing he was probably behind it somehow, and he had most likely only made it worse when he'd been so giddy about having twin boys. Now she doesn't seem to mind as much though, he's teased her about it and she just gives him her look along with a grumble about how she would never choose one over the other. Right now, she's holding Jake, playing with him, making him fly like a plane in her arms. He's pretty sure she'll do the same with Reece tomorrow when it's his turn to be alone with his parents. Not so sure she'll do the same with Lily though considering their small girl isn't so small anymore.

"He-ey handsome, look at your daddy with his oogly eyes all over us, think he's jealous?" Kate's voice interrupts his thoughts and he refocuses his gaze to see Kate is walking towards him with Jake resting on her hip.

Jake says something that makes it sound like he's agreeing with his mommy and so Rick huffs. "Of course I'm jealous, he's getting all your attention," he says in an accusatory tone and she laughs.

"You know I love you, Jakey here loves you too, right buddy?" Kate cooes and Rick chuckles as he steps closer to them.

"Jove you daddy," Jake says and Rick grins.

"Love you too Jakey," he says kissing his son's forehead. The toddler laughs and Rick turns his head to his wife. "And I love you too." She chuckles before his lips are claiming hers in a sweet kiss. It's a bit longer than they usually allow themselves so close to the kids and Rick can't help but feel a bit proud of making her moan slightly. "When's it time for a day with only the two of us?" he whispers in her ear when he pulls back and he sees her cheeks turn red.

"Soon," she promises and he smiles at her.

"Pane, pane!" Jake exclaims and Kate laughs as Rick immediately takes their son from her arms in order to lift him up and fly him around like a plane.

Kate's not sure how it's possible but she just keeps falling in love with him a little bit more every time they spend time together like this.
