Without further ado, here's chapter fifty-seven of Pride And Prejudice. Enjoy!
The following morning, the pride gathered to see the future queen off.
As for Kiara, she was really nervous about it, a lot was riding on her succeeding. The young gold lioness was currently sitting in the main cave with her mother. The Queen was to emerge first then she would follow.
The tawny lioness gave her daughter a reassuring smile and nuzzle before heading out of the cave. It hasn't been easy these past weeks with Sherise missing. Kiara missed her sister like crazy and frankly so did she. Sherise was her daughter, and she loved her just as much as she loved Kiara.
With a deep breath, Kiara stood and followed her mother. Kiara emerges at the beginning of the trail where her parents stood waiting. Her nerves was eating her alive, she couldn't help the fretful expression until Rafiki who was standing by the path spoke to her.
"Kiara. You have nothing to worry about."
Kiara nodded even though she was far from believing it. As she continued down the path the pride expressed their thoughts about her growing up and becoming the lioness she was.
"My, have you grown." Sarabi smiled warmly as her granddaughter walked by.
At the end of the emembled pride sat King Simba, looking vaguely glum. Before Princess Kiara reached the end of the path, where Nala apporched and nuzzled the younger lioness.
"You'll do just fine."
Kiara nuzzled the tawny lioness before moving her amber eyes to Simba who seem far away. "Daddy...you have to promise to let me do this on my own. Promise?"
Simba has been protective ever since she was a cub. The incident with Sherise didn't help matters, only made it worse.
Simba glanced at Nala, his mate smirked as she raised a eyebrow at the king. The golden lion rolls his orange eyes upward acquiescently.
"Alright...I promise."
Kiara smiles before rushing forward to embrace the king, buring her head in the older lion's red mane. While Timon and Pumbaa broke down into tears, comically.
Jesús smiled at his niece's retreating form before setting out towards the border Sherise crossed with his search party.
~PP~
"Mommy!"
"Mommy!"
She heard two very young voices say. She looked and seen two cubs running towards... her.
Both cubs were males, one cub had reddish-brown brown fur with familiar dark brown eyes. The other cub was pale brown with those same familiar dark brown eyes and a black tuff on his head.
But then everything went white...
"Princess,"
Sherise woke up with a start. She looked up and saw a young teen lion, younger than her with light cream fur with amber eyes and a growing black mane.
"Um...who are you?"
"My name's, Bastien. I'm Keres' son but I don't mean you no harm."
Sherise glared with barred teeth. "What do you want."
"To know if you're okay. It couldn't be easy, I'm not the only one who regret what happened to you."
"Gee.. thanks." Sherise snarled, turning her head to side. "To answer your question, no... Now you can go."
Before Bastien could respond, his father walked in and glared at him."That's enough, now get out!"
Bastien bowed and ran out of the cave. Once the teen was gone, Keres turned to his cousin."What do you know of our family?"
"Nothing! Your crazy friends killed my birth parents before I could know anything!" Sherise spat.
Keres chuckled and sat, "Your grandmother, Jacqueline had a brother who was to be King if they're weren't any heirs from the royal family. Your grandfather went and married my aunt who later had your pathetic mother. As for my friends.. Your dearest daddy or rather adopted daddy killed Zira's father in cold, innocent blood."
Sherise growled, "I don't believe that shit!"
Keres chucked, "Scar wasn't evil, your great grandmother and grandmother were."
Sherise growled and put her paws over her head. Causing the black lion to smirk before leaving his cousin.
Later that night, Sherise was transported into another dream.
She woke up to a loud roar. When she looked up, she nearly jumped out of her fur. There standing infront of her was a extra large lion. He had a glowing gold pelt with a equally glowing gold mane. From his bright yellow eyes he looked wise and friendly.
"Hello Sherise."
She was taken back, "How do you know my name? Who are you?"
"I'm in the stars, I know everything. To who I am. My name is Alden and I'm one the very first lions to walk the African plains."
"What do you want with me?"
Alden looked at the young lioness with wise and bright eyes, "That will be reveal in time but you have to leave."
"Leave? Where can I go? I'm pregnant! My home... they're never understand!"
"Yes, you are expecting but you must leave. The future of the Pride Lands depend on your return."
With that everything went white.
...
The search party from the Pridelands had traveled through tunnels and climbing winding paths, for a week.
"I'm starving," Josh whined by Frankie's side.
Frankie sighed before stopping. "I guess we're far enough."
Josh let out a breath of exhustion before he fell to the ground.
Jesús and Frankie shook their heads, minus Amanda. The goldish lioness laughed in good humor.
Jesús turned from the resting group and turned to scout the area. The reddish-brown lion had a small limp from a scuffle with some rogues a few days past but he'll live.
Jesús had went through some bushes where a river ran on the other side. Just as he was about to head over for a drink, a reddish blur tackled him from the side.
Jesús groaned as he got to his paws. He snapped his dark brown eyes towards his attacker, to just make out a younger lion with reddish-brown fur, dark red mane and lime green eyes, before the lion pounced.
Jesús growled before meeting the younger reddish-brown lion head on. The two bit and scratched, soon the younger lion pounced again. Making the two roll before Jesús lion found himself on his back.
"Who are you trespasser?!" the lime green eye, reddish-brown lion growled. "Here to challenge, our leader!"
Jesús growled back, narrowing his eyes. "We didn't know this was somebody's land!"
"Likely story!" the lion spat with a sneer.
"Jelani, let him up." came a commanding voice. Followed by the body of a stocky dark beige, dark black mane lion.
Behind him was a brownish lioness and pale beige, black mane lion.
"Zendaya, you and Johnny get the ones that are with him. Bring them back to the base. Our leader will want to speak with them."
The brownish lioness nodded before heading towards the bushes on the other side of the field with the pale beige lion following.
"Follow me."
Jesús grunted before following the two males. They entered a area with towering trees before going through some hanging vines. Beyond the vines was where the rest of this mysterious pride and the prey resides.
Jelani and the other lion led him to a cave built in the base of a mountain.
"Wait, here." the dark beige lion instructed before walking off.
While Jesús waited the rest of his traveling group joined him.
Before he could ask if they were alright, the dark beige lion returned with a dark red lioness, a little bit older than Jesús.
"Dae, what is this? You know that he doesn't like to be bothered."
Dae was about to respond when Francisco's loud, shocked voice rang through the air.
"Vana!"
The dark red lioness turned her amber eyes eyes from her fellow pride member to the light beige, black mane lion. "Francisco?"
"Vana!" Frankie called out again in joy. With tears falling from his light brown eyes, the light beige lion rushed forward and embraced the dark red lioness. "I thought you were dead."
Vana had tears falling down her face as she stepped back. "We all can talk later, but first you must meet our leader."
Frankie nodded before stepping back as the dark red lioness headed in the cave built in the mountain base.
A moment later, Vana exited the cave with a figure following. When he reached the light, everyone stared in awe. The figure was a stocky young lion, a bit younger than Amanda. His tawny fur was was covered in faded scars, three deep long scars ran down his left shoulder. As the warm breeze tossed the lion's dark brown mane, they could see his pricing green eyes.
Vana looked from the leader to the visiting group. "I introduce you to the leader of the new Ndona pride. Leader Kopa,"
