57. Chapter 57

Ida's POV

"So, y'know how homecoming is in two weeks?" Sebastian says while he intertwines our fingers together.

I feel my face get hot as I respond. Sebastian stops me, and I stare at him.

He mutters a cheesy phrase and ends with "Homecoming?"

I roll my eyes. How can someone be this oblivious but still so adorable? I smile and mutter about how much of a dork he can be.

"Your dork?" he says while tilting his head like a confused puppy.

"My dork." I nod and stand on my toes to kiss his forehead.

Sebastian crouches down and picks me up by my knees, throwing me over his shoulder. I laugh as he runs with me on his shoulder to the lake not far behind his house.

"PUT ME DOWN!" I laugh as he stops on the edge of the lake.

"Whatever you want." He says, jumping in after me.

I try to splash him, but he grabs my wrists and holds them above my head.

"You wanna try that again, sweetheart?" he says from above me.

I laugh and break free of his grasp, kissing his cheek as I do so. We splash around in the water for a little longer until the sun starts to set. We both dry off at his house, and I spend another night in his bed, nightmares flooding my thoughts.
