During the time Gibbs was eating his rib-eye. He noticed a vehicle that he had seen before. Pulling out his cell phone to call McGee at NCIS asking for his help. Gibbs was able to write down the license plate before deciding on his next course of action.
"Boss and you think it might be trouble?" Tim will say from the bullpen looking up the database for the Metro police tapping into the computer systems.
"Yeah, I do McGee. I will stay on the line." Gibbs needed to say to see the black SUV turning...
"OMG! EVERYONE GET DOWN IT'S A DRIVEBY SHOOTING..."
Bullets were flying all over the place with Elle running into the back, while Gibbs had gotten down firing his own weapon. Only this time one of those bullets hit his right leg to have him cry out and the SUV racing away with the customers calling 911 and one of them running over to Gibbs placing something around his right thigh to cut off the bleeding.
"Try and take it, easy SPECIAL AGENT, GIBBS. I am officer James Kennel of Metro police having breakfast when I saw the vehicle. Who do you think it was shooting?" he says with his tone of voice trying to tie the cloth tighter and the pain hitting him hard. Then the police officer off duty noticed that Gibbs had been nicked as well in the arm seeing the blood seeping down. "OMG!" he cried out with Elle came out asking to help out.
Meanwhile, Gibbs's phone was ringing...
Officer James Kennel answered the phone to speak with this Senior Field Agent McGee. "Go ahead Agent McGee, I had been in the diner at the time of the shooting," he said with McGee getting rather upset over the phone.
"Do you mind telling me what you're talking about officer?" Tim said with both Torres and Bishop coming over to his computer terminal.
"Special Agent Gibbs has been shot twice by a driveby vehicle hitting him and one other. An ambulance is on the way to take him to the hospital. I suggest that you try and contact his next of kin?" he said over the phone.
"I will call her right away Officer Kennel. Thank you for calling?" he said with turning to face Bishop and Torres. "I want you over to the diner to talk to anyone that might have seen anything with the vehicle?" he ordered as the Senior Field Agent.
"And where will you be Tim?" Eleanor asked him with a cryptic tone of her voice.
"Calling Loreile first before heading on over to the hospital. I will also as will contact Director Leon Vance," he said with shutting down his terminal while watching the two grabbing their gear to head on over to the diner.
EVERGREEN SAFE HOUSE
Loreile was in the courtyard with others relaxing for a change. She had been writing her stories while looking at the time. Her cell phone was sitting on the table next to her when it was going off to scare her off her own wits. She had taken a look at the caller I.D. to be senior field agent McGee. "Hello, this is Loreile what's going on Tim?" she had to ask with the question and with her stomach up in arms.
"There was a drive-by shooting at Gibbs favorite diner. He had had the waitress Elle on whether she had seen anyone suspicious. Gibbs was caught in the crossfire hitting him in the shoulder and right thigh." taking a deep breath.
"What hospital Tim? I need to see if I can get an escort to bring me to the hospital to visit my husband." she was concerned with needing to leave the Evergreen safe house.
"I will see you there Loreile. I have to contact Director Vance about it as well with the Metro police and now NCIS involved," he said with hanging up the phone to make that second call to Vance.
"What the hell with the vendetta of the Cartel? Did you send a team over to the diner McGee?" Vance needed to ask the importance of the question.
"I sent Bishop and Torres to investigate. I have also spoken with Loreile sir. She is going to get some sort of an escort from the safe house to the hospital." he says.
"I don't think it was a good idea at this point, Tim. However, I can always call SECNAV and see if they will be able to help?" he cried out.
