Stefan moaned drinking her blood. His eyes rolled, his hands squeezed, he hardened. It was something about her that was different from the rest. He pulled away and exhaled towards the ceiling as her blood filled him up. He almost stumbled. He bit his wrist and fed her his blood as he continued to breathe deeply. "How do you feel?"
"A little more awake now,"
He chuckled. "I'm sorry I was out all night with Damon,"
"It's fine. Wait, what were you two doing all night?"
He cursed in his head. "Uh, you know just hanging out, drinking. Usual brother bonding stuff."
"How come I never met him anyway? Don't you think I should meet your own family?"
"I told you how he is,"
"Still, babe. What if something happens to you, I should be able to know him a little to feel comfortable enough to go to him for help or something."
"Nothing will happen to me."
"Stefan, seriously. It doesn't have to be anything formal, you can take me to your house so you can change your pants or whatever and it'll be like a quick hello."
He sighed. "Alright, fine. A quick hello, nothing more."
"Nothing more." She smiles.
Damon sat in the living room a little excited to finally meet the famous Bonnie that his brother is dating. He wonders what caused him to change his mind, but a part of him knows that it was Bonnie's idea and that part of him is grateful. He stands hearing a car door close then shortly another and straightens out his shirt before the door opens. Their eyes lock after she looks around the place and she smiles causing him to look over her body as he walks up to her.
"Damon, this is my Bonnie, Bonnie, Damon."
"Nice to meet you," she goes for a handshake.
He grabs it but turns it slightly to kiss the back of it. "Likewise," he smiles seeing her do so. "So, tell me more about yourself, Bonnie,"
"No, this was a simple 'hello', let's go upstairs, babe,"
"Stef," she sighed as he tugged on her arm but followed him towards the stairs. She looked back to see Damon's eyes still on her. She faced forward again going up the last few stairs then walked closely behind him into his room. She raised an eyebrow never being in here before and took it upon herself to look around and touch things.
Stefan watched her as she walked carefully around his room placing her touch on almost everything. He hugged her from behind as she looked at the photos on his fireplace mantel.
"Look how cute you were,"
He chuckled. "I was very good with the ladies since day one."
"Shut up."
He chuckled then kissed her. "These are my parents. I don't have much memory of my mother and I wish I didn't have much memory of my father. I'm just glad I had Damon." She smiled. "Uh, here is my cousin and me, not really sure what happened to her. She was on my mom's side of the family. Uh, me and Damon and our father."
She looked at the photos for a while then turned in his arms to meet their lips. "I love you."
"I love you more." He kissed her again. "Come on, let's go back,"
"Can we please stay? I want to be in your space, please?"
He sighed. "Okay, fine." He kissed her. "What do you want to do?"
"Give me a tour, I want to see your style so I can pick out a great house for us." She smiled as he took hold of her hand and started walking towards his bedroom door.
"Keep in mind that I share this place with my brother and it's not completely my personal style."
"That's fine," she smiled at him.
Stefan shook his head. "This is Damon's room but we're going to skip that now and forever." She chuckled. "Here's our library, we have tons of collections of books and medical ones as well. I wanted to be a doctor."
"I never knew that about you," she let go of his hand to check out the collections.
"Yeah, but I figured with my inner Ripper, it wouldn't be such a good idea."
She chuckled turning to him. "I still would like to see you try."
He smiled then walked over to her so he could meet their lips. He pushed her in closer to his body, opening his mouth to her as his head tilted to the left. Bonnie wrapped her arms around his neck kissing him a little longer before pulling away. He met their foreheads and they smiled.
"What else do you have to show me?"
"There's really nothing else up here besides a couple more bedrooms and a bathroom. It's not that exciting,"
"What about downstairs?"
"My brother is down there,"
"Baaabe, please? I'll hold your hand the entire time, promise."
He watched her eyes then sighed. "Fine,"
She smiled then took his hand, fitting her fingers between the spaces of his, as he leads them down the long staircase. Bonnie smiled at Damon as he turned to see them coming down and he smiled back before she looked away. He stood and followed them into the kitchen. Damon rolled his eyes seeing his brother not let go of her hand as she looked around.
"What are you two doing?"
"Stefan's showing me around. Forcefully," she turned to him and lifted the corners of her lips up before looking forward again.
"I'm sure you—"
"Stop talking to her, please."
"Stef," Bonnie frowned.
"I asked nicely,"
"What's your problem, bro? Suddenly you act like I'm a huge villain now that your girl's around?"
"I don't have to put a guard up when it's just you and me, I'm not acting like anything."
"Bullshit. You're just worried that I'll steal your girl with my charming good looks."
"Fuck off, Damon."
"Okay, let's just go back upstairs," Bonnie tugged on his arm and it wasn't long before he moved his feet following after her. She led them back to his room then closed the door. "Are you hungry, you seem a little cranky,"
He sighed. "I'm sorry,"
"Here," she offered her wrist.
He looked into her eyes then grabbed her arm, pushing it closer to his mouth before feeding. Bonnie massaged his scalp as he did so and he pulled away shortly licking her wounds before his fangs. He bit his own wrist abs fed her his blood then watched her heal.
"Come here," she pulled on his arm walking backward until she felt his bed.
Stefan crawled on top of her and she softly pushed his head down to rest on her chest. He exhaled listening to her heartbeat as her fingers played in his hair. "You complete me."
Bonnie smiled widely as did Stefan hearing her heart pick up.
...
Bonnie hopped on his back and clung to him tightly as he sped down the stairs. Her heart was racing and her breathing was heavy but a smile was constant on her face. "That is so cool I'm shaking,"
Stefan laughed and sped them into the kitchen and Bonnie found herself seated on the countertop. She placed her hand on her heart and smiled as he chuckled. "Was it like this for you the first time you tried it?"
"Yes and no. Actually, I don't really know how you're feeling,"
She shook her head, "It's ok just tell me how you felt and I tell you how I am."
He walked up to her and kissed her. "I love you."
She smiled. "I love you too."
"I felt like a superhero. My adrenaline was flowing fast and I felt powerful. Like nothing could ever stop me."
"How do you feel now about it?"
"It's normalized, you know. You do it constantly, rather you're running away from someone or something or to someone or something. It turns regular."
"Do you wish that you could go back to feeling like a superhero?"
"Yes and no. Things start to turn bad the minute people believe they're a superhero. Too much power rushes to their heads and that causes more harm than good."
She nodded. "Well I felt… excited and… scared," they smiled, "and… like, I don't know, like my soul left my body, and then they met up a second later."
He met their foreheads. "You complete me," he lifted his head to watch her eyes then met their lips.
Her legs wrapped around him and she shortly found herself naked and in his bedroom. She opened her mouth as he slid inside her and allowed herself to breathe a little before kissing him some more. She spread her legs wider as he pushed deeper and soon she came piercing her nails in his shoulder. He moved within her forcefully until he emptied out inside her. Her nails left his skin and he sighed pulling out and moved to his back. Her stomach growled and they laughed realizing that they only left his room was so that he could make her something to eat. They started moving when her stomach rumbled again and were shortly downstairs in the kitchen.
Bonnie watched as Stefan looked through the refrigerator and freezer and she hopped off the counter to look in the pantry for a quick snack. She smiled at the box of Chewy bars and grabbed two chocolate ones before closing the door. She gasped noticing that Damon was now by her side but relaxed shortly. "Hey,"
"Hey,"
She smiled then walked back to where she was feeling his eyes on her. Stefan turned and frowned, seeing that they had a guest but ignored him. "Unless you're willing to wait thirty minutes to an hour, I suggest we go out to eat."
Bonnie nodded. "Okay, I'll go get our shoes," she took a bite of the snack then headed upstairs.
Stefan watched her go then turned to Damon. The brother being watched ignored the brother watching him and joined him by the refrigerator looking for a blood bag. Stefan watched him drink half before placing it back. Damon smiled at his lingering eyes. "Does Bonnie know about your other side?"
"Other side?"
"The Ripper side,"
"Of course she does,"
"No "of course", you don't tell anyone."
"She's different, okay? I actually enjoy her, more than I even should and thought I would."
"What do you mean more than you should?"
"She's a human. She's gonna grow old and want human things and then she'll be gone."
Bonnie stood outside the entrance of the kitchen listening in frowning before putting on a smile walking in. "Catch," she threw his shoes up in the air in different directions. She smiled widely the next second seeing him in front of her and she looked down to see the shoes on his feet, neatly tied. "I'll get you one of these days,"
He kissed her. "Never," he kissed her again as she smiled then took her hand.
Damon watched them. "Mind if I tag along?"
Bonnie looked over at her man who looked over at her giving her the final say. "Sure, we'll wait for you in the—" Damon sped upstairs to change and grab his own shoes then met them back in the kitchen. "car. Or not."
The brothers chuckled and followed her out. Damon got in the backseat as Stefan drive with Bonnie on his right side to Mystic Grill. Heads turned seeing the three walk in and Bonnie felt a little off having so much attention on them but tried her hardest to shake it off. She sat beside Stefan and across from Damon in a booth. Stefan wrapped his arm around her shoulders and she leaned her head towards them, sharing a menu. "Are you eating?"
"I don't know," he sighed. "You eating, brother?"
"I was really in the mood for a drink,"
"An actual drink or a Bloody Mary?" Bonnie wondered.
Damon chuckled. "An actual drink."
"I think I'll get the nachos minus the jalapeños. Me no likey the spicy." The brothers laughed some causing her to smile. "Oh and a watermelon margarita. On the rocks."
"My girl I tell ya."
"If Damon's drinking, so am I." She put on a smile as their waitress stood by their table and introduced herself.
Bonnie ordered her meal and Damon requested a bourbon to start and Stefan passed altogether.
"So how's school goin?" Damon asked.
"Well I am almost done and I couldn't be more excited and ready to move on. It was a great experience and I thankfully learned more than I partied so it was good. I'm ready to work now, I think."
Damon nodded.
"Did you go to college?"
"When I got used to being what I am and times changed I eventually went. More so to party than to learn so I guess we had the opposite effect."
Bonnie chuckled. "I've always wanted that type of college attitude but I could never succumb to it."
"Why?"
"It's just not how I was raised, I guess. I kind of always been the same. When I was in elementary school I had so many friends, I was the one people wanted to sit next to on the bus and partner up with. Then high school came and my friends started wearing makeup and wanting to be the popular one. I remember the beginning of ninth grade we all sat at this table, it was packed with friends, old and new then the group just kept dividing and dividing and then by maybe the third month in, I was the only one there. I didn't change, I liked the way things were but I was the only one so I had to make new friends and I did but people that I've known since first grade were now strangers and I couldn't understand why. It sucked. A part of me blamed myself for not changing, not trying to date a guy and be popular but I realized that a bitch was happy where she was and I shouldn't feel any type of pressure to do be or do anything I don't want to be."
"I don't think you were raised that way, I think you were born that way." Damon stated.
She smiled. "Thanks."
"Are you still in touch with some of those people?"
"You gonna beat em up for me?"
Stefan smiled. "You know me well,"
She chuckled. "I mean we're friends on Facebook and that jazz but I don't have conversations with them or anything like that, which is fine, I guess. I just like to know where people are, you know."
"Hm,"
"I mean I've known Katherine since we were born but we lived in different districts and then luckily I met Caroline. But anyway, you wanna know something funny and off-topic?"
"Shoot,"
"So I remember when I was in high school and I was taking this English exam that I wanted to get a really great grade on because the teacher low key didn't like me for whatever the reason. Anyway, it was like those final exams and I wanted to use the word 'exercise' in it but I didn't exactly know how to spell it I didn't know if it was 'E-X-S' blah blah blah or 'E-X-E-S' whatever, so I grab a dictionary and I'm looking for this word then after about five minutes I think to myself, 'Bonnie, what the fuck are you doing, you don't have a clue to how to spell this word, what makes you think you can find it in a dictionary where everything is spelled correctly and you still have to finish this three page essay?'"
The brothers laughed.
"Did you figure it out though?"
"No, I substituted it with something else, I can't remember what it was because I don't remember the context but I felt very stupid to say the least. I aced it though, I want to say I got a 95."
"You seriously remember the grade?"
"Yes, I studied my ass off to run it in my teacher's face."
"This is why I love you."
She laughed some and they kissed opening their eyes to see her food being placed down in front of her and drink. "This looks so good," she dived in.
The brothers started plucking off her plate and Bonnie allowed it until she realized that it was half gone and she was not even close to being full. Stefan ordered another for the table and Bonnie started to get a little more greedy because she was the only human after all who actually needed to eat food to survive. Stefan paid for the meal and drinks and they shortly left afterward.
"I can't believe how late it's gotten," Bonnie said watching the sunset.
"Are you coming back or do you want me to drop you off?"
"No, I'll go back with you guys,"
Stefan nodded closing her door then looked up seeing an unmarked windowless van. Damon exited the restaurant after using the bathroom and joined his brother's side. "What are you looking at?"
He exhaled through his nose. "Uh, nothing. Let's go," he walked to the other side.
Damon narrowed his eyes then looked at the van wondering if that was Kassidy and her super-secret agents. He chuckled at the thought that they actually had agents after them. Of all things agents. He got in the car and Stefan drove off.
Bonnie smiled as he kissed her then moved to her side and snuggled into him. "Today was nice,"
"Yeah, I actually enjoyed it."
She looked up at him and reached to touch the side of his face. He looked down into her eyes and leaned in meeting their foreheads. "What's on your mind, babe?"
He shook his head meeting their lips. "Nothing, I'm just tired,"
"Okay," she kissed him then moved her arm around him closing her eyes.
He held her back following suit.
...
Bonnie stopped in her tracks seeing Kassidy standing a few feet away from her. She swallowed then continued walking, walking past her.
"Bonnie."
"I'm sorry, I- I can't do it."
Kassidy reached to grab her bicep causing her to stop walking. "Fine. You're doing nothing but putting him in more danger. With you, things could've gone smoothly but now we have to use more force."
"He's changing okay, he hasn't killed anyone in a decent amount of time, he doesn't deserve to die. Let's just talk about this, us and your agents as long as you guys don't try anything, he won't."
"I'm done stalling. I suggest you learn how to live without him." She bumped shoulders walking away.
Bonnie watched her before heading off to class as she texted Stefan.
Stefan looked down at his phone then cursed.
"What is it?"
"Kassidy confronted Bonnie. She said that she told her that's she's done stalling. I better watch my back."
"What happened to our evil plan of killing those assholes?"
"I got a little distracted. Bonnie took me back I wanted to keep her."
"I can see why. Bonnie is— anyway, we should get going with that."
Stefan watched him choosing to ignore what he was about to say about Bonnie. "I guess we should. We could hit up the spot tonight, I'll tell Bonnie to go straight home and stay there." He texted her back. "And to think I was in such a great mood."
Damon chuckled. "That's what you get for letting your guard down."
"I guess. Anyway, what were you going to say about Bonnie?" He needed his anger to flare even the finest amount so he could use it to spark more anger to get him in the mood for tonight.
"Nothing, I just- Bonnie seems like a very special woman, she's not only fucking beautiful but she actually cares and listens. You're lucky to have her, dude."
Stefan frowned not feeling angry at all. "Thanks."
"I just don't understand how you always get so lucky when it comes to chicks.
"Because I'm not looking for chicks, I'm looking for women. Smart, has a functioning brain, can think for herself. You always focus on the outward appearance, that's your problem."
"Maybe you're right."
Stefan shook his head then headed up to his room and laid on his bed facing the ceiling. He closed his eyes letting out a breath then sped to grab his headphones and plugged in his phone to play some heavy metal. He closed his eyes again. He emptied his mind only letting the screams of a man enter and their electric guitars and drums. He opened his right eyes feeling his phone vibrating in his pocket then reached to grab it seeing it was his girl. He removed his headphones and answered. "Hey, babe,"
"Hey, so what's going on?"
"Nothing you need to worry about, okay? Damon and I have this handled I'll see you tonight."
"I don't like not knowing where you're going at least,"
"I'll be fine, I swear."
"You're not going to tell me?"
"Baby. I love you, okay, I'll see you tonight."
"You're forcing me to snoop and sneak around you know,"
"Baby please stay home, okay, I don't want them capturing you or some shit like that. Don't order out or go out, just eat whatever you have in the house and I'll buy you something later. What do you want?"
"Pepperoni pizza,"
"You promise you'll stay home?" He asked then waited almost a minute.
"Okay, fine."
"I love you."
"I love you too,"
"I'll see you tonight with pizza, okay?"
"Okay,"
He sighed. "Okay, babe,"
He moved the phone from his ear when she hung up. He knows she's nervous about this mission but she has nothing to be worried about. He was more worried about her safety. The last thing he needs is for them to capture her in any way then and only then would he ever think about surrendering. So he hopes that Bonnie is taking his advice by staying inside and not opening her door no matter who knocks.
When the sun started setting, the brothers headed out to where they found the hideout last hoping that it would still be there and that they would be inside this time around. Damon turns off his lights and they open their ears relieved to hear heartbeats. They got out of the car and started making their way, still listening in.
"So when are we actually going to make our move, Kassidy? We had many chances but you always let him go."
"I wanted Bonnie on our sides and I messed up by not getting to her sooner and not pushing her harder. She won't budge so now I know that we actually have to be forceful. With Bonnie, it would've been easy."
"I told you since the first time we made contact with her that it was too late."
"I know, I was wrong, okay? But talking about this won't get us any closer, so let's just focus on now. Stefan has an older brother as we know and I think he should stay out of this for now. We can take Stefan but I'm not sure if we can handle them both at the same time. It's too much power."
"We can call in for backup."
"But then it'll be too obvious that we're about to attack, they'll hear us and see us. We have to be small and quiet about it," Kassidy let out a breath then walked over to her shrine of Stefan. "We'll get him, both of them. We'll formulate a plan over dinner, what are you guys in the mood for?" She narrowed her eyes hearing no response, "Guys?" She turned then gasped seeing them both dead on the floor with blood beneath them. Her heart started racing and it almost stopped as Stefan suddenly appears in front of her still with his vampire face. "Please," she held up her hands.
"I tried, Kass. I really, really tried. I told you to stay away, why didn't you stay away?"
"I don't know," a tear rushed down her cheek.
"Now I have to kill you."
"You don't. I'll stay away this time, I- I promise. I promise." Tears started to stream from her eyes. "Please, Stefan." She started to relax as his face switched to his human form. "I promise."
"Don't make me regret this."
"I won't, I swear. I just need a few hours then I'll be gone for good."
"Get out of my face."
She nodded then rushed out of the door only to have her neck snapped by Damon. Stefan walked out shortly, stepping over her body and walked straight to his car getting in the passenger's seat. Damon got in shortly. "I-"
"I knew you were going to kill her, I just couldn't do it."
"So-"
"Don't. Just take me to Papa Johns."
...
Bonnie frowned at the sad look on his face. "Come here," she stretched out her arms and he moved in closer to her as she squeezed him tight. She kissed the top of his head.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too."
He hugged her back listening to her heartbeat.
"Did you love her?"
"...Yes,"
She nodded hugging him closer. "I'm here to talk when you need,"
"I know, baby, thank you. I'm sorry. You're safe, that's all that matters to me," he lifted his head and met their lips, kissing her repeatedly. He moved his lips down to her neck kissing her rougher then pierced her skin with his fangs.
Bonnie narrowed her eyes when he wouldn't stop so she tried pushing him off but he kept latching on. She felt something erupt within her as she pushed him again, sending him back flying against the wall. Their eyes went wide Stefan suddenly finding himself crashed into her wall and Bonnie wondering how she even did that. She narrowed her eyes as he suddenly smiled. "What?"
"I knew it."
"What?"
"You're a witch."
