At 12.10 Nick said goodbye to Fin and Olivia and said he would go up to wake Rollins. Sonny was already up sleeping. Just so you know, if I end up in a body bag you two are to blame. Why do you think we're leaving before you wake her? laughed Olivia. He pulled a face, yeah well, I'm just putting it out there. He walked towards the elevator with them before heading up to the bunk room. Good luck Fin shouted, thanks said Nick, I'll need it.
He walked into the bunk room quietly and found Carisi snoring in the 1st bed. He quietly walked over to the back corner of the room and sat on Amanda's bed. Hey, Amanda he whispered as he stroked her face. Time to wake up. He lifted her hand and kissed it. She began to stir and moan. Really? Yeah, he whispered. She turned around and smiled at him, and whispered ¿Estamos solos? He grinned and replied no estamos. Aw she said. He smiled and looked down to Carrisi. Then leant over and kissed her quietly and softly and whispered into her ear, not long and we will be baby, and kissed her quietly again. He got up and walked out. She got up and went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and hair and headed back downstairs. She sat on the empty seat across from him and said, so where are we at? He filled her in with what he had been up to and said he was just about to phone another possible witness. Ok she said, I'll go and see what I can find online about this one. Just before 1pm Nick walked behind Amanda at her desk and said, come on let's go. Where are we going? she asked. Lunch he replied but it's not 1pm yet. Yeah so? Who's going to know we left a few minutes early? Vamos en mi amor. She looked at him and smiled, Ok vamos mi amor. He grinned as he walked for his coat. As she joined his side he whispered you're definitely picking up this Spanish, she smiled back saying sólo para ti (only for you) As they walked to the elevator he groaned, oh Amanda what are you trying to do to me? As the doors closed, she said, oh if only I could do what I wanted right now baby. He put his arm around her and whispered I can't wait. She giggled and the doors opened. They got into his car and he drove them to a sandwich shop with comfortable sofas to sit on. She sat beside him and cuddled into him as they waited for their food to arrive. Arm around her he kissed her head saying, I've missed you today. She tightened her arms around him saying me too baby, it's been a tough day so far. Their lunch arrived and they sat up to eat. 30 minutes later they were heading back out the door, let's go for a walk Amanda said. He smiled Ok I'm not complaining. He wrapped his arm around her and she wrapped his arms around his waist. They walked down the street and across to a small green area. They done a lap of the walkway then sat down on a bench. She cuddled into him as he pulled her closer and wrapped both arms around her. She looked to him and kissed him softly. I needed this she said smiling, he smiled back, me too and kissed her again. They both let out a sigh as she rested her head on his shoulder. I'm making the most of you now she said, because when we get back to the station things are going to get mad again. He sighed loudly saying, yeah, he rubbed her arm and kissed her head, we've gotta make the most of this today. He looked down to her and lifted her chin to meet him. I need another kiss though mi amor, she smiled and replied, hmmm ok just for you, he laughed, I hope it's just for me, she playfully hit him, of course just you, there's no-one else in this world I want to even think about kissing but you, good he said, same here he smiled, and leant in to kiss her. They sat for another 10 minutes or so just talking then got up for another walk around the pathway. Holding hands, she said, you know this is something else I've dreamt off, just walking, holding hands with someone I love she smiled. He stopped and smiled at her, I couldn't think of anyone better to do this with he said, it's perfect, and he kissed her. She smiled and they carried on walking back to the car. Once in she turned the heating on. Ok let's get back to normality unfortunately she said. He said, yeah, sooner we get back at it, the sooner we get home tonight. Fingers crossed we get somewhere she said. He took her hand and kissed it. Let's do this.
It was coming up to 5.30pm, Amanda and Carrisi were at the hospital with the victim, Nick and Liv were interviewing a possible suspect. Fin was standing watching the interview with Barba behind the mirror. I don't think this is our guy said Fin, no, I don't think he is agreed Barba. Man, Amanda was right said Fin, this is definitely one of these cases. How are those 2? asked Barba. Nick and Amanda? said Fin They're great he said, seem really happy, Barba laughed, well I'm glad to hear that Fin he chuckled, I meant her and Carrisi though, I know they've not had much sleep. Oh Fin said, yeah they're tired. Liv sent Amanda for a 30minute sleep before lunch, Carrisi had just over an hour's sleep, we woke him when we got back. But they'll both refuse to go home if we tell them to. Barba nodded his head, I know they will he said, but they'll have to soon. Yeah, when they get back from the hospital, I'll suggest they go home, Barba smiled, I'll mention it to Liv when this is over. What time is Lucy with Noah to? Asked Fin, she offered to stay until 8pm because I was able to let her start later, but I'll leave soon and let her go, she's exhausted too he sighed. Fin sighed, I think Nick is the only one who got a full night's sleep last night he said, he's been great with all of us today. He's a good man replied Barba, he is that said Fin.
Interview done Nick and Olivia left the room and joined the 2 men behind the mirror. He didn't do it said Nick, we agree said Fin. I'll take him to be released said Fin. Thanks said Olivia. Olivia and Barba went to her office. I was thinking of heading back to yours and let Lucy head home he told her. She smiled, are you sure? Yeah, he said, Lucy's tired too. OK she smiled again; I'm hoping to be home soon. Ok he said, I'll see you there, text me when you're leaving, and I'll get some food ready. Oh, by the way Liv, try and get Carrisi and Rollins to go home for some sleep. She smiled, that's who I'm waiting for she said.
Half an hour later Amanda and Carrisi arrived back at the station. The victim was still groggy and couldn't remember much, her husband said that he would be the first to phone them when she was more alert. He was trying to help as much as he could. Poor guy said Amanda, he's heartbroken as he was meant to go out with her last night but got called into work at the last minute.
After a few more minutes talking Olivia told Carrisi and Rollins to head home and get some decent sleep. I'm heading off too she said, Fin and Amaro have another witness to interview who contacted us while you were out, then they're heading home too. Ok said Carrisi. I'm going to go now. He said his goodbyes and left. Amanda looked around and saw Fin on the phone. Where is Nick? asked Amanda, oh he's up in the bunk room, Zara called him just before you got back. Ok she said, I'm going to head off too then she said. Although I need to get my washing from my locker. Olivia said she was just going to go to the ladies and head home too. Ok see you in the morning said Amanda. She turned and headed upstairs to the bunk room. She opened the door quietly and smiled as she heard Zara talking to her dad. Nick looked up and a huge smile appeared across his face when he saw Amanda. Hey look who's coming to say hello he said to Zara. She walked over and joined him on the bed, hiya honey, Amanda said as Nick put his arm around her and kissed her head. Hi Amanda said Zara excitedly. How are you? Amanda asked. I'm good she said, but Amanda you look really, really, tired. Nick pulled her closer as Amanda chuckled, yeah, I am sweetie she replied, I've had a very long day. Were you up too early? Zara asked concerned. Nick replied she was working very late last night bebita, and up early this morning again. But she's going to go home now and get a good night's sleep, aren't you? She looked up at him and smiled, I am, that's why I came up here to say I'll hopefully see you later. Are you not going home daddy? He smiled, no bebita, I have to stay a bit later with Uncle Fin, but we'll be going home soon. Ok she said, do you have to go now? I do hija, but I'm so glad you called me today, it was a lovely surprise. I'm glad too daddy she said, and I'm really happy I got to see Amanda too. Amanda smiled, aw it's great seeing you honey. I'll talk to you again soon OK? Uh-huh the little girl said, bye Amanda, love you. Aww love you too honey she replied smiling. Te amo daddy she said. Yo también te quiero bebita he smiled. He ended the video call and turned to Amanda. You OK mi cariño? Yeah, she sighed as she wrapped her arms around his waist and snuggled into his chest. Better now I can do this she said. He kissed her head, hey, straight home tonight he said. Oh, don't worry she replied, I'm going home having a bath then some food. He kissed her again, let me know when you're in the bath he said, If I'm finished here, I'll bring some food in. If not, there's some leftover Bolognese in the fridge. She tightened her hold on him and kissed him softly, Ok she said, Thank you. He took her hand, kissed it and said, off home mi amor, hopefully I'll not be long. She got up and went to her locker. Ok, I'm going to use the bathroom 1st then head off. He stood up and walked over to her, see you soon he whispered and kissed her again, then went back downstairs to Fin.
Fin was just putting the phone down when Nick sat at his desk with a sigh. Everything OK with Zara? He asked. Yeah Nick smiled, she just wanted to say hello he laughed. Where's Amanda? Fin asked. She's up getting some stuff from her locker he replied, then heading home. Good replied Fin, Liv is getting ready to go home too. If it's OK with you Nick, we'll hang around here to make sure the girls go home before we head out to this witness. Nick smiled, absolutely Fin. Amanda came back down the stairs and walked over to stand beside Nick, she rubbed his shoulder, has Liv gone she asked? No I'm still here Rollins she heard Liv say, why are you still here? I told you, I needed to get some washing from my locker, I was going to see if you were coming to walk out together. Nick and Fin laughed. Ok she said, give me 2 minutes to grab my stuff and we'll head off. Ok Amanda smiled. She stood beside Nick still and he gently and discretely rubbed his hand up and down her leg. Fin asked so are you heading to Nick's tonight or your own house? Amanda looked down at Nick, I hadn't thought about it actually. Nick smiled, go to yours and if you're still awake I'll call by when I'm finished. My house is a bomb site at the minute he laughed. You clearing out? Fin asked. Yeah, he said, I went through the kid's clothes and toys at the weekend so have piles sitting waiting to be thrown out or donated. I went through a load of paperwork too he sighed, so my house is definitely out of bounds for now he laughed. Amanda laughed herself. Ok, call me when you're finished and I'll have a beer waiting she smiled, playfully hitting his shoulder. Aw a beer sounds great groaned Fin, Amanda chuckled, well you're more than welcome to call by too if you want Fin. Aw thanks Amanda, but I'll be a 3rd wheel I think he laughed, before either of them could protest, he said, anyway, there's a big pizza in my freezer with my name on it he said. Oh, pizza sounds nice said Amanda, it does sighed Nick, still discretely rubbing Amanda's leg. What sounds nice? Liv asked. Pizza said Nick, Amanda and Fin at the same time. Oh, you know that does sound nice she said. Well if you're still awake when I'm finished, I'll bring some pizza by he said to Amanda. A promise like that I'll make sure I'm awake now she laughed. Well we'll see what you're doing later he chuckled. I'm betting you'll be sleeping within 10 minutes of getting home. Liv agreed.
Right Rollins, let's go she said, let these 2 head off so they can get home. Hold up and we'll walk out with you said Fin. The 4 of them walked to the elevator, Nick and Fin said their goodbyes to the girls as they walked to Fin's car, and Olivia and Amanda walked to their cars. So, Olivia said, you staying at Nick's tonight? No, she said, Fin just asked us that too she laughed. Sorry said Olivia, no you've nothing to be sorry for Amanda replied, he's going to call by mine when he's finished here, she said. And he better bring me some pizza she said, I'm in the mood for one now she laughed. Yeah said Olivia, I might call Barba and tell him I'm bringing pizza in too now she laughed. Has he got Noah again? Amanda asked. Yeah, he offered to go and let Lucy go early as she's tired too. Aw I'm glad for you and Lucy said Amanda smiling, yeah Olivia said. I'm lucky. We're both lucky replied Amanda. That we are said Olivia. They reached their cars. Ok see you in the morning Amanda said. Yep you will, replied Olivia, make sure you get a good night's sleep Amanda, Oh I will, don't worry about that she smiled. Goodnight.
