It was the end of Chloe's quarantine and she was so excited to finally get to work again. She was relieved that she could go back to hugging her mother when she felt like it. It had been hard having to divide the house in two. She also had some things that she wanted to speak to her mum about. She just didn't feel that she could do it during the quarantine.

"Can we drive to work together?" Chloe asked knowing that they both had the same shift today. Ange nodded as she threw her jacket on and grabbed her bag.

"Sure, get the keys. I'm just going to wake Kisaiya up" Ange said as she made her way up the stairs.

"Kis, Chloe and I are leaving for work now" Ange said "Any issues give me a call".

Kisaiya nodded and then threw the duvet over her head. Not happy about being woken.

Ange headed back down the stairs and grabbed her coffee. She was close to forgetting it and that wouldn't have been a good day.

"Everything okay?" Ang asked as she climbed into the passenger's side. She was excited about her daughter driving to work. She could do with a relaxing drive, however one look at Chloe's face and Ange knew relaxing was not what she was going to get this morning.

"Well, I wanted to speak to you about something" Chloe said nervously, and Ange nodded.

"What's the matter?" She asked turning to face her daughter. She noticed Chloe looking in the mirror to gauge her mother's response. Chloe could see the worry in her mother's face.

"Look I don't want to worry you and I never said anything before but I am a bit worried" Chloe said and Ange nodded encouragingly.

"Well it's just Kisaiya. Mum, she doesn't eat. I know that you had worries and I just kind of shrugged them off but it was so much more noticeable when I was at home" Chloe stated.

"She just twisted everything. Like she would tell me that she had eaten breakfast but then I wouldn't find any dishes in the dishwasher or the sink. Then she's tell you that she had eaten but I could swear that she hadn't. I tried sitting in the kitchen but then she'd just say that she had gotten food when I was at the toilet" Chloe explained and Ange nodded.

"Thank you for telling me, I'm off work tomorrow and I'll have a good chat with her about it" Ange explained and Chloe nodded. It felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulder. She was so relieved that her mother was going to fix this.

The following day

Ange wanted to do something more enjoyable with Kisaiya before she started questioning her about her eating. However, things were pretty limited with it being lockdown. Ange had found a theatre show that was doing a matinee performance online. She thought if Kisiaya did her school work in the morning, they could watch the show together and then have a chat afterwards.

The morning went quickly and Kisaiya got on with her work while Ange cleaned the house. Ange kept a close eye on Kisaiya but tried not to make it obvious. She didn't want to cause the girl to worry, she knew what Kisaiya could be like.

"Right missy, you have done more than enough work. I got us tickets for an online show. I thought we could have a relaxing afternoon" Ange said and Kisaiya smiled. That sounded like a great idea. She put her arms around her mother.

They got blankets and cuddled up on the sofa. Ange brought through sandwiches and crisps for them both. She noticed that while she had eaten all of her lunch. Kisaiya's was left untouched. Ange didn't say anything not wanting to ruin the show. She knew that she had to soften the girl first before she would speak to her.

"That was so good. Thank you" Kisaiya said giving her mum a massive hug.

"I can't wait until the West End opens again" Kisaiya said, and Ange nodded. She enjoyed theatre and she knew how much Kisaiya enjoyed it too.

"I'm bursting for a pee now" Kisaiya said as she quickly pushed herself up off the sofa. She stopped suddenly and was on her way back down. Ange grabbed her before she fell. She noticed that the girl was as pale as a ghost.

"Oh it's okay" Ange said noticing that the girl was about to pass out.

"Sit back down and then put your head between your knees" Ange encouraged as she sat the girl back down on the sofa and then encouraged her to put her head between her knees.

"What have you eaten today?" Ange asked and Kisaiya didn't reply.

"have you eaten anything?" Ange asked as she raised the girl's head once she saw a bit more colour. Kisaiya bit her lip and shook her head.

"You need to eat this now" Ange said forcefully but kindly as she handed the girl the sandwich. Kisaiya knew better than to disagree with her mother. Ange waited patiently until the girl had eaten half of her sandwich. She could see that the girl was struggling and decided that it was enough.

"What's been going on with you then, missy?" Ange asked supportively as she took a hold of her daughter's hand. Kisaiya shrugged, letting her hair fall over her face. She tried to stop the tears slipping but one managed to escape.

"Hey, speak to Mama and I will help you. I promise. Mummy always makes it better" Ange said as she continued to comfort the girl. Kisaiya shrugged. She couldn't explain how she felt.

"You know you can speak to me, don't you?" Ange said and Kisaiya nodded.

"I know that I can but I don't know what's going on at the moment. I can't explain it" Kisaiya admitted and Ange nodded.

"I will do anything that you need me to do. Do you think maybe speaking to Susan again would help?" Ange asked suggesting the counsellor that Kisaiya had previously seen. Ange had her number in case and she was more than willing to pay if needed.

Kisaiya thought for a minute before nodding.

"I want to speak to you, I just don't know what is going on" Kisaiya said suddenly letting the tears stream down her face. Ange nodded and pulled the girl into her arms.

"I know baby girl, I'm not mad or angry I promise" Ange explained and Kisaiya nodded.

"I just think that I'm so fat and ugly and eating just makes me feel so horrible. I like the feeling when my head is light. I don't know why, it just feels like I'm floating. I'm so weird" Kisaiya sobbed.

"It's not weird or anything. Things are going through your head and we need to show you that none of what you have just said is true" Ange encouraged and Kisaiya nodded. She already felt so much better having told her mum.

"We will get through it together" Ange said "I promise that I am here for you baby".

Kisaiya nodded and snuggled up closer with her mum. She knew that Ange would help her, she was just too scared to ask for help. She knew that she had made the right choice now.
