Anakin looked at all the shocked faces of his friends and family as he stood on the flag ship, Doomsday. He was in charge of the Empire as Ahsoka, Jess, and Fress looked horrified. "I am the Emperor," he proclaimed in a clear solid tone.
"Vader?" Leia questioned with tears running down her cheeks. "How could you? You promised to never to fall again."
"Leia, you could be Empress as you were always meant to be," Vader explained with an inviting smile.
"No, it's not right, the Empire is cold and cruel," Leia explained with a pleading tone. "Don't do this, Anakin."
"Anakin, how could you?" Padme snapped in an angry tone. "Our third child is going to grow up without a father, just like Luke and Leia did. Anakin, I want a divorce."
Anakin's eyes snapped open as he sat up on the small cot in the Falcon. He placed his hands over his face as he felt his heart race in his chest as he took several deep breathes. He pushed the blanket aside, he didn't remember pulling it over him. It must've been Leia. He stood up and opened the door as Luke and Han glanced at him with solemn expressions. "What's going on?"
"It's Leia," Luke answered. "She slipped into a coma."
"She what?" Anakin felt panicked as Han chewed on his lower lip. "Where are we?" He demanded attempting to keep calm, but it was hard knowing his daughter was unconscious.
"Corellia," Han answered with a concerned tone. "It was the nearest planet we could get to that had a medical facility."
"How long have I been asleep for? Why didn't anyone wake me?" Anakin demanded causing Luke and Han to grimace in turn.
"We tried to wake you, dad. You kept mumbling in your sleep saying you wanted ten more minutes, then called me mom," Luke explained with a frown. "You were out cold."
"Can you take me now?" Anakin questioned in a curious tone as Han and Luke nodded. "Where are the others?"
"The medical facility," Luke answered. "We came back in hopes of bringing you to where it is."
"Take me to her," Anakin spoke as Han and Luke nodded in understanding as they headed off the Falcon. This must've been the side effect Gaalen was talking about. He hoped it was temporary and she pulled out of it soon.
Anakin followed Han and Luke to where a doctor was talking with a nurse as he felt panicked at the thought of Leia being in a coma. Another nurse was pushing a patient in a hover chair down the hall as a doctor was being paged over the com unit. "Where is Leia Organa?"
"I'm sorry, who are you?" The medic questioned as he glanced at Luke with a frown. Then he turned his attention back to Anakin. "We're being cautious on who we let into her room due to who she is.
"I'm Anakin Skywalker, Leia's biological father," Anakin answered with a frown. "Is my daughter going to be okay?"
"You look a little young…" The medic started to point out. "It doesn't sound right. What proof can you give me besides your word?"
"He is our father," Luke quickly intervened. "And its a long story."
"I've heard that before," the doctor rebutted as Anakin stood up in an intimating pose as Luke shot him a look of warning. Anakin ignored Luke's expression as he noted it was easier to ignore Luke then Leia. Maybe it had to do with her being her mother's daughter after all?
"You will take me to see Leia, now," Anakin commanded in a tone that was not to be ignored as he stretched out with the Force and brushed the doctors mind with his own attempting to persuade the doctor. He noticed the man was strong willed causing him to release a frustrated sigh. "What will it take?"
"Jedi mind tricks don't work on me," the doctor pointed out with a slight smirk. "Now, the story?"
"I prefer to tell it in private," Anakin answered with a defeated sigh as the doctor nodded in understanding.
"Follow me," the medic invited as he led the group to a small office. He closed the door behind Anakin and Luke as the medic sat behind the desk and watched both with a frown. "Now from the beginning. Who are you, really?"
Anakin let out a frustrated sigh. "Are you sure you want to know?"
"I have heard rumors about Vader cloning himself," the medic answered with a frown. "And goes by the name of…"
"Anakin Skywalker," Anakin answered with a frown. "I already told you that and that rumor is true," he explained feeling his frustration edge up. "I want to see my daughter. Tell me her true condition."
"Dad, she will wake up in twelve hours from now, as soon as that drug clears her system," Luke filled in quickly as Anakin felt relieved to hear it.
"What is your wife's name and the name of your youngest daughter?" The doctor questioned with a frown watching Anakin carefully.
"Padme Amidala Skywalker and Lillian Skywalker," Anakin answered honestly as the doctor gave a nod of approval. "Anything else or do you plan to keep this little charade of yours going?"
"Leia will make a full recovery, it will take somewhere between twelve to twenty-four hours for the drugs to clear her system. Once the drug clears, she will wake up," the doctor reported. "If you will follow me, I will take you to where Leia is."
"Thank you, Doctor," Anakin stood up as his patient came back as he followed the doctor out of his office and down the hall. He thought the doctor would never allow him to see her at the rate he was continuing to ask questions. He noticed Han had disappeared somewhere. Maybe he went to where Leia's room was.
The doctor pushed the door open to where Leia was lying down hooked up to machines, Han Solo was sitting in a chair beside her bed holding her hand in his and talking to her causing him to frown. He leaned against the wall as he watched Han dote over his daughter with tender loving care. He hoped for Han's sake that Leia chose him over Isolder or Han would be in for a world of hurt.
Ahsoka walked up to Anakin and gave him a firm hug causing love and warmth to flood over his entire body. He really did see Ahsoka as an unofficial daughter. He quickly let go as she left the room. Luke decided to stay back, they were only allowing two in at a time. Han glanced towards the door and stood up. "I'll leave you two alone."
"Thanks Han," Anakin thanked him as Han began to leave the room. "I can tell how much you love Leia," Han stopped walking and turned back towards him with a grateful smile. "I hope she chooses you."
"Thanks Anakin, that means a lot to me," Han replied as he turned around leaving the two of them alone.
Anakin approached Leia's bed and gently placed his hand onto her forehead, just as she had back on the Executor when she first came onboard with knowledge of being his daughter. Now she was the one lying sickly in bed and it was his turn to finally take care of her. "Leia, I'm so sorry. This is not what I wanted for you. I love you so much," he bent over the bed and gently kissed her forehead before sitting down in the chair Han was sitting in a couple of minutes ago. He took her hand into his and gently pressed it against his forehead as he prepared to wait for her to wake up.
Twenty-two hours later, Padme walked down the ramp of her new ship Naboo Sunrise. The name reminded her of when she and Anakin shared their first kiss as husband and wife. At the moment she was concerned about Leia. From what Anakin had filled her in on, she still has not woken up. She held Lillian in her arms as Brice walked down behind her. He wanted to come along to see Jess, not that she blamed him. She needed someone to help with Lillian and Fress agreed it would do Brice some good to see Anakin and Jess again.
Padme walked up to the rented speeder as Brice settled Lillian into the baby seat. "Ready to go?"
"We are," Brice answered as he quickly climbed into the passengers seat. "Are you sure bringing Lillian was a good idea?" He questioned in a curious tone.
"She'll be fine," Padme answered with a slight smile. "Besides, she is missing her daddy."
"Yeah I guess," Brice agreed as Padme lifted the speeder off the ground and headed towards the med center. "I hope Leia wakes up soon."
"I do too for Anakin's sake," just the thought of it caused her to shudder. She didn't want to lose Leia, let alone having Anakin jump off the deep end again. She brought Lillian knowing it should help keep him calm.
Padme approached a medic as he turned in her direction causing her to frown. Luke had described one medic almost next to impossible to get past making her wonder if the man gave Anakin a hard time. "Excuse me, I'm looking for Leia Organa and Anakin Skywalker. I need to see my daughter and husband."
"Right this way, Mi Lady," the medic answered as he started walking down the hallway as Luke caught up with her causing her to frown.
"Any change?" Padme questioned in a worried tone as Luke shook his head no.
"They seem to think she should wake within the hour. I've had a hard time pulling dad away from her side. He refuses to sleep and eat," Luke explained with a frown. "Maybe since you're here, maybe you could pull him away?"
"I'll do my best," Padme agreed with a frown knowing just how stubborn he could be when he wanted too. "Anakin must really be worried about her," Luke nodded in agreement as they entered the room where Leia was lying down on a bed. "Anakin?"
Anakin didn't look up as Padme approached his side as she got a good look. He was holding Leia's hand against his forehead causing her to frown as she noticed it was his hand hand was shaking. How long had he been holding her hand like this for? She silently wondered to herself. "I don't know what to do," he exclaimed in a hopeless tone.
"All you can do is wait," Padme answered in a reassuring tone with a frown. "She will wake up. She has the stubbornness Skywalker streak in her," she paused for a second as she took in his facial features noticing his eyes were red. "Ani, when was the last time you slept?"
"Hours," Anakin answered honestly as Padme heard a slight moan. She noticed Leia's head turned in Anakin's direction. He stood up placing his hand onto her forehead as Padme moved in closer. "Leia?"
"Dad?" Leia questioned in a shaky tone. "Where are we?"
"Medical facility on Corellia," Anakin answered as Leia reached for his hand. Padme felt relief flood her, their daughter was going to be all right. "I've been so worried."
"Dad, go get some sleep," Leia suggested with a slight smile. "Mom can stay with me."
"Go on, Anakin," Padme reinforced with a slight smile, "I'll stay with her."
Anakin didn't argue as he stood up and took Lillian from her. "My baby girl, don't you dare do what your sister just did."
"As if that's beyond her control," Leia lightly chided him causing Anakin to frown in turn. He gently kissed Lillian's forehead before relinquishing her back to Padme.
Anakin handed Padme a hotel card with the address on it. "This is where everyone is staying at."
"Thanks Anakin, go on. Get out of here," Padme encouraged. "I'll look after Leia, and Luke is just outside."
"I know, I can sense him," Anakin agreed as he walked out of the room.
Padme sat down in the chair Anakin was just in as Leia watched her with a worried expression. "Leia, what is it?"
"I'm worried about, dad," Leia answered honestly. "He toiled with the dark side during my rescue and came close to becoming Vader again. I can sense something is bothering him. Ahsoka was telling me she had to talk him out of it, reminded him of what would happen."
"I'll have to thank Ahsoka later," Padme muttered under her breath as Lillian started to fuss. She reached down and grabbed Lillian's bottle and held it to Lillian's lips. It was a little past her feeding time.
"You brought my new baby sister," Leia spoke excitedly as she sat up in a rush, then placed a hand against her head. "I sat up too fast."
"Take at easy, Leia. You just woke up," Padme cautioned in a concerned tone as Han rushed to her side wrapping his arms around her. She was definitely her father's daughter. Anakin had a habit of sitting up to fast after waking up from his injuries.
Leia glanced up as Han leaned in kissing her on the lips causing Padme to smile. Leia pulled away as she wrapped her arms around Han. "Han, I love you."
"I love you too, sweetheart," Han answered in a loving tone. "I'm relieved you finally woke up."
Leia gave a grateful smile as Han held her against him. She gave a contented sigh as she released him. "I've been giving Isolder's proposal some thought and have come to a decision."
Han froze in Leia's arms as he straightened up as Padme placed her hand onto his shoulder. "Just hear her out before saying anything," she cautioned him as Han nodded in agreement. "And what have you decided, Leia?" Padme encouraged with a frown as Han waited patiently as if he knew the answer already.
"I'm going to tell Isolder no," Leia answered as relief washed over Han's face. "Han, I always knew you were the one for me and I love you so much. I can't see my future where you're not in it. I had a vision and I was miserable as Isolder's wife."
"Oh Leia," Han hugged Leia to him. "I love you so much. I can't offer you a planet or wealth, I can promise you to be a doting and loving husband. You are my soul mate and best friend. We've been through so much since we met," he knelt down onto one knee as he opened up a box with a ring on it. "Leia, will you do me the honor and take my hand in marriage?"
"It doesn't matter, as long as we have each other," Leia answered with a smile. "Han, yes I will marry you."
Padme felt over joyed as she watched Leia and Han. One down, two to go and one not for a very long time. She would have to find ways to keep Anakin preoccupied. She was sure it wouldn't take much. Lillian fell asleep in her arms as Luke entered the room. She stood up allowing Luke to come in as she stepped out of the room looking for a nurse. Leia must be starving by now.
Happy Easter
