ZAFT: Well, an update on a Tuesday. Haven't done that in a while. XP

DarkFoxKit: ZAFT… could you ask Andy what the heck he's doing right now?

ZAFT: Um… okay? Andy, what are you doing?

Andy: *Has some kind of container with what looked like a brain, and it was set on fire* This is Kit's brain on fire.

ZAFT: … … Andy… Put that down… *Looks at Takuya* Can you use your control over fire to put that out…?

Takuya: Andy is creeping me out… O.O

Andy: You're taking this too literally! This isn't a real brain, it's meatloaf in the shape of a brain! I was trying to be creative and show that Kit's brain has been on fire with ideas recently, she's been rapid firing all sorts of ideas lately and it's honestly scaring me! Since, you know, I'm subjected to most of those ideas!

DarkFoxKit: Well… he's not wrong.

ZAFT: Ah. I see. XP Yeah, ideas can come rapidly… ^^'

Takuya: Aww… so it wasn't a real brain on fire? Um… how are you going to eat meatloaf burnt to a crisp?

ZAFT: Okay! Onto the chapter you two! *Shoves Takuya and Andy into the chapter*

Chapter 59: A Digital Disaster

Calumon wished he had kept a better eye on Dreammon's Digi-Egg. He had thought that once Dreammon's Digi-Egg was hatched in Primary Village, they wouldn't have to worry about him anymore. Dreammon would be reborn as a new Digimon, like every other Digimon, and would be raised to be a good Digimon, hopefully. He didn't think that someone would take Dreammon's unhatched egg back to the real world, or back to the one who had created him. Now he was on a frantic look out for Impmon in a completely different country, far away from his own home, at night, in a city that got attacked by ghosts on a daily basis.

Dorumon looked up at Calumon. "Are you okay, Calumon? You look a bit worried."

Calumon blinked, looking down from where he was flying. "I'm fine… just… rather not have to face Dreammon again."

Lopmon shivered. "I don't think any of us want to face Dreammon again."

"You didn't have to face the brunt of his nightmares…" Calumon shivered as well.

"Don't worry, we'll find them," Patamon assured. "Lopmon, you better go get Terriermon. Dorumon, you should get Gatomon if you can. I'm going to check out someplace I'm a bit… suspicious about."

Dorumon nodded. "Okay."

As for Lopmon, he frowned, but nodded as well. "Just be careful, okay Patamon?"

Patamon nodded. "I'll be okay, don't worry."

Calumon blinked as he watched Lopmon and Dorumon head off in one direction, while Patamon was flying in another. Deciding to follow Patamon, Calumon flew after Patamon.

Patamon noticed the other small Digimon flying behind him, and sighed. "Calumon…"

Calumon blinked. "Yes?"

"Why did Sorcermon send you to chase down Impmon?" Patamon questioned. "From what I could tell, you're an In-Training level Digimon, and you don't have any attacks of your own. Why would Sorcermon send you to go after Dreammon's egg?"

"I… was… the only one who saw Impmon taking Dreammon's egg… it's my responsibility to go after him," Calumon answered a little hesitantly.

Patamon looked back at Calumon with one of his green eyes. "If that is the case, why is it your responsibility? You could have just told another Digimon about it and they could have done something."

"I told Sorcermon…" Calumon replied softly. "He told me to go after Impmon…"

Patamon frowned a bit. From what he remembered about Sorcermon, the Digimon didn't do anything without a good reason. "I see. He must have had a good reason if he sent you… But that still doesn't quite explain why."

Calumon gave a hesitant look. "Where are you going? You seem to have an idea on where Impmon could be taking that egg."

Patamon looked ahead of them both. "It's a place called Axion Labs. I have a feeling we may find our egg thief there."

"The Axion Labs?" Calumon blinked.

"It's a high tech lab in Amity Park. They… make and study all sorts of things there," Patamon explained. "And… I just… have this feeling we may get our answers there."

"If you think that's where Impmon went, why didn't you tell the others?" Calumon questioned.

Patamon looked down. "I don't want the others to follow. It's something I must do because I… wasn't myself before, and I need to find out what is going on so I can make it up to those I hurt."

Dark clouds began to fill the sky. Thunder could be heard in the distance. Rain was coming. When Patamon and Calumon got close to the Axion Labs, they both descended towards a nearby tree, landing on one of its branches.

"Calumon… I will tell you my secret if you tell me yours," Patamon bargained with Calumon.

Calumon frowned a little, but he had known something had happened to Seraphimon before, and he had been wanting to know what had happened to him. Telling Patamon his secret was a small price to pay, and most other Digimon already knew about it anyways.

"Okay," Calumon agreed.

"I was once the partner of a… very vile individual. He wants to break down the barriers between our world, the human world, and the world known as the Ghost Zone. I… was involved in that, as I wanted the same thing. At least, I thought I did at first, but then I came to realize that wasn't what I wanted at all. Somehow, before I became this person's partner, I became corrupted and well… everything that I mentioned happened." Patamon explained as simply as he could. "If it wasn't for Andy and Danny, I would have remained as this vile person's partner and done worse."

Calumon frowned, but gently patted Patamon on the back to try to comfort him. "But it looks like you're not corrupted anymore, and since you have memories of being this other person's partner, it seems to be working in your favor more than a detriment."

Patamon chuckled a bit. "I guess it is, isn't it?" He then went serious. "As I said, it was thanks to Andy and Danny that I was saved. Danny began to change me, and well… Andy was the one who purified me. If anything, I owe them this, to find out who is Dreammon's creator and what they are up to."

"I'm sure they would rather you stayed safe instead of endangering yourself for their sake," Calumon pointed out. "And… the real reason why Sorcermon sent me to chase after Impmon is because I'm one of the Legendary Warriors… the only one who was there when it happened."

Patamon looked back in surprise. "You're one of the Legendary Warriors? How? You look nothing like any of them, nor the evolutionary lines."

It began to rain. Lightning flashed slightly, causing a bit of thunder to rumble.

"Heh… yeah… I know… But maybe I can show you what I mean," Calumon said before fractal code surrounded him. "Slide Evolution! Kumamon!"

The white bear Warrior of Ice Digimon replaced Calumon on the branch. Kumamon sat down on the branch to keep it from wobbling too much from the sudden new weight.

Patamon blinked in surprise. "Kumamon…? How is this possible?"

"Something happened when I was in the Digital World," Kumamon began as lightning flashed across the sky. "I ended up in a battle against a really strong Digimon. This Digimon seemed to be after the Crystal Matrix, the very thing that allowed Digimon to digivolve in the Digital World. I couldn't tell you why, they didn't say. I managed to defeat them in the end, but the battle caused the Crystal Matrix to shatter into shards. I picked up what was left, and somehow I ended up absorbing that shard, which turned me into Calumon."

Patamon frowned. "So, you're like the replacement until the Crystal Matrix can be repaired or replaced?"

"Yeah… thankfully I don't need to be in the Digital World for Digimon to digivolve, I just… have to keep existing," Kumamon answered.

"So… have you been working to find the shards of the Crystal Matrix?" Patamon asked. "I would think it would be best to restore the Crystal Matrix in the long run, right?"

"Yeah, I've spent a lot of my time in the Digital World looking for those shards. So much so that Sorcermon always needs to have my clone ready to stay in the real world for me, but I think my big brother is getting suspicious," Kumamon sighed.

Patamon sighed. "Perhaps you should let the others know about your situation. You shouldn't put this burden all on yourself. You're still just a kid, you know, you need to live out your life in the human world too."

"I know… but I can't… this is my fault, it's my responsibility… and I just… feel too ashamed to tell the others about what happened… It was my fault the Crystal Matrix got destroyed in the first place…" Kumamon frowned.

"You couldn't help what happened in that battle." Patamon said softly. "Things that are out of our control happen. It wasn't your fault. At least think about telling the others, or just Takuya if you'd rather tell just him."

Kumamon sighed before fractal code surrounded him, turning him back into Calumon. "I'll… consider it. But for now… what's the plan here?"

Patamon sighed as he looked back at where Axion Labs was in the distance. "We sneak inside and check out the lab to see if Impmon is inside with the Digi-Egg. And if possible, snatch it back. If we can't however… we need to at least warn the others who Dreammon's creator is."

"What would happen if we get caught?" Calumon asked.

"... Try not to get caught," Patamon answered.

"Right, great plan," Calumon sighed.

"Come on, let's not waste anymore time," Patamon said.

Both of the small Digimon flew out from the tree and towards Axion Labs, getting pelted and soaked by the rain.

Gomamon was looking out the window at the rain, frowning. Valerie had gotten much better now, she was healthy enough to go to school tomorrow, though when she heard about the ghost boy having a million dollar bounty on his head, Valerie had been quite livid for the past hour. But Gomamon wasn't worried about that at the moment, she was looking out at the thunderstorm going on out there.

Valerie groaned. "Of all the days… I could have had that ghost boy if I hadn't been sick!" She groaned.

Valerie then stopped when she noticed Gomamon had been unnaturally quiet, and had been staring out the window since the thunderstorm came in. "Uh… Gomamon? Is something wrong?"

"This storm…" Gomamon muttered. "It's a bad omen, Valerie…"

"Huh? How is it a bad omen?" Valerie asked, confused.

"Water talks, including rain," Gomamon answered. "And right now, it's saying something bad is coming."

"What could possibly be coming that is so bad?" Valerie asked, not liking what she was hearing from her partner Digimon.

"I don't know…" Gomamon frowned. "But whatever it is… we need to prepare ourselves."

Valerie nodded. "If you think we should…" Then a thought crossed her mind. "What about these Legendary Warriors? Do you think they could get involved if whatever is coming is as bad as you say it is?"

"Maybe… they're usually called to the Digital World if something bad was happening there…" Gomamon hesitated. "But… this isn't the Digital World."

Valerie then remembered a scene she had seen on the news recently of the ghost boy in the arms of what had looked like a 'demon familiar', but this 'familiar' had had a symbol on its mask. "Hold on… I saw an entity that was holding the ghost boy, as if protecting him. On the mask was a symbol that looked like… it represented fire or something… Was that a Digimon?"

Gomamon looked at Valerie in surprise. "You saw a symbol on that being? Could you show me?"

Valerie nodded, the news was likely uploaded on the internet by now. She quickly got on her laptop, one of the few things she was able to keep when the ghost dog went on a rampage that day in the lab.

Valerie found the image and article, bringing it up for Gomamon and turned it to show the seal Digimon. "This is the being. Thankfully this image is a high-quality one, so you can see it clearly."

Gomamon's eyes widened. "That's definitely the Warrior of Flame's symbol. He… doesn't look like Agunimon or BurningGreymon though… that must be his fusion form then… I think his name is… Aldamon or something."

Valerie gaped at the revelation before looking back at the image. "That's a Legendary Warrior?! That looks… He looks… intimidating for sure… Is…" Valerie trailed off, not sure of what to make of this. The Digimon sure did look intimidating. "Is he… anything like Ranamon? Or do all Legendary Warriors… have different personalities?"

"One thing you have to remember, Valerie, is that Ranamon was corrupted by the negative emotions Paulina was exuding," Gomamon reminded. "And that in turn, also twisted Paulina's mind when they fused. Legendary Warriors aren't supposed to attack the innocent. The Warrior of Flame may look scary, but I'm sure he's a nice guy. My fellow Gomamon friends had met with the wielder of the Warrior of Flame before, I think it's the same one. He had been nice enough to help them get back home when the whirlpools kept them from being able to go back to their island."

Valerie nodded, taking this in. "So I can't judge on appearances then…" She frowned a bit. "But… why was he helping the ghost boy? That I don't understand."

"Because that ghost boy isn't evil?" Gomamon raised an eyebrow. "He did help us when we were fighting with Ranamon, he saved your and Andy's life, remember?"

Valerie nodded, as she did remember that. "I do. But there is still a bit of doubt about that. Was that something the ghost boy did to be nice, or was it all a trick to win us over? That is what is confusing, because I have been told, and read, that ghosts can't feel emotions and fake them to lull humans into a false sense of security."

"That's kinda stupid," Gomamon said, surprising Valerie. "I mean did most of those ghosts you see seem emotionless? The angry and vengeful spirits you see don't act like that for the fun of it you know. And I doubt that the ghost boy would've saved us if he really didn't care about your life. Why bother trying to gain your trust if you could just be dead and be out of his way, right? And you can't judge a whole species based off of what books said, those books generalize all the ghosts into one. But from what I could see, ghosts come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Like Digimon, like humans."

Valerie looked down in thought. She did have some experience with Digimon now, and Gomamon, not to mention Andy's Digimon partner, were nice. Ranamon had been… twisted by negative emotions, so that proved that Digimon could become bad as well. Looking at the image of the Warrior of Flame again, Valerie frowned to herself. She didn't want to just judge this Digimon based on his appearance, nor based on the actions of his fellow Legendary Warrior. "Maybe… I will give this Digimon a chance. And… if he saved the ghost boy… I guess I could at least try to learn more about ghosts from experience, not just from books."

Valerie then sighed. "But what about that million dollar reward? My dad and I really need the money right now."

"If it's money you need, maybe I can find you something to sell from the ocean. I'm good at finding things in the ocean, like pretty rocks or shells that might be valuable in the market. Maybe I could get lucky and find some rare fish for you to sell too. You can get money in many different ways, Valerie. But are you willing to hurt and turn in a potentially strong ally, and a child, just for money and just because he's a ghost?" Gomamon asked.

Valerie hated to admit it, but the idea of turning in a child, just based on his species, caused her stomach to churn in uncomfortable ways. "I… no… I don't think I could…" Valerie admitted at last.

Gomamon gave Valerie a grin. "I'm glad to hear you say that. Because we may need the ghost boy's help for whatever might be coming. And it would be nice to have the Warrior of Flame on our side as well."

Valerie nodded. "Yeah… I guess you're right." She sighed. She then looked at Gomamon again. "Is the Warrior of Flame as strong as Ranamon or is he even stronger? You said he was in his 'Fusion form' or whatever you called it."

"Well…" Gomamon frowned. "I've never battled with the Warrior of Flame myself. And fighting with Ranamon in the rain and the ocean made her quite the force to be reckoned with. But the Warrior of Flame is one of the few Legendary Warriors who can fuse his Human and Beast Spirit together, creating that fusion form. The fusion form, from what I've heard, might be around a strong Ultimate level, if not Mega. Because they can rival Mega level Digimon in that form."

Valerie gaped. "Wow… If he does end up helping us, I will be glad he is on our side."

Gomamon then lifted up her ear as she heard something. She quickly jumped back up to the window and looked down. She was surprised to see fellow Digimon running across the street, looking around frantically.

Valerie walked over as well and looked out. "Huh? Other Digimon are here? What are they doing down there?"

"I don't know, but it looks like they're looking for something," Gomamon answered back. "There's a Gatomon… she's a Champion level Digimon. I know she doesn't look it, but she's really strong. The rest are Rookie level though… Lopmon, Terriermon, and that last one was with Andy… Dorumon, I think his name was."

Valerie frowned. "Why are they running? Is something wrong?"

"Should we go out into this storm and check?" Gomamon asked.

Valerie frowned. "If what you say is true and something is coming… maybe we should go and check it out. Those Rookie-level Digimon may not last long against whatever it is that is coming. And I don't think that Gatomon will be of much help, as she is only one Champion-level."

"You better put your suit on then. You did say it helps protect you against the weather, right?" Gomamon asked.

Valerie nodded. "Okay." She had her suit come out from its stowed position on her person and it went around her before her hoverboard came out from her shoes. "There we go." She then looked to Gomamon. "Hop on. We're going to see what's going on out there."

Gomamon nodded before she got on Valerie's hoverboard. "I would suggest just following them for now, and only get close slowly so you don't alarm them. Digimon can get aggressive if they think you're dangerous to them. Dorumon might recognize you, but the others won't."

Valerie nodded. "Good idea. It wouldn't do to startle them if we may be working with them down the road."

With that said, Valerie opened her window and flew herself and Gomamon out into the rain.

Andy sighed a little as he looked over at Takuya, who had fallen asleep on the arm charm. With Takuya asleep, and Dorumon gone for the time being, Andy felt alone. Alone, with his thoughts. He could almost hear the clock ticking away in the background. Ticking away the present, slowly edging them closer to the future. The future of both the unknown and known in Andy's case. Andy still would argue against the fact that he was a seer, but even he couldn't ignore these visions of the future he kept getting. A few of them frightened him, especially ones that involved Danny with red eyes. In those futures, Danny seemed to be looking at him with malice, actual malice. Andy had no idea what could possibly lead into that future, but it turned his stomach every time he thought about it. And when he did think about it, Vlad's comments about Danny's ghost half kept coming up as well.

Unable to take his thoughts anymore. Andy stood up and headed to the lab. Maybe some training and exercise will help get my mind off of… EVERY FREAKING THING!

But when Andy got down to the lab, he had forgotten one little detail… And said detail was hovering in his ghost form in the lab, looking at Andy in surprise, having heard his footsteps. "Uh… What are you doing down here, bro?" Danny asked his twin brother.

Andy froze, he came down here to stop thinking about his brother, yet here his brother was, in his ghost form no less. "Just… uh… couldn't sleep…"

Danny frowned as he landed in front of Andy, making Andy tense up. "Are you okay, Andy?"

Distraction! I need a distraction! Andy frantically thought, before an idea came to him. "Patamon, Dorumon, and Lopmon left by the way. They needed to find this Digimon called Impmon because he has Dreammon's egg, and is taking it back to its original creator."

Danny blinked. "Wait… Some Digimon called Impmon stole Dreammon's Digi-Egg?!" He paled.

Seeing Danny looking panicky made Andy want to panic. He quickly raised up his arms. "N-now calm down, Danny! Dreammon hasn't hatched yet, and our Digimon partners are looking for them right now. But we have to stay here in case Vlad decides to come back."

Danny frowned. "Yeah… but… Why would Dreammon's creator want the egg back? That's… worrisome…"

Andy rubbed the back of his head. "Let's… hope we never have to find out. Um… so how've you been feeling lately, bro? Do you feel trapped? Worried? Like you can't just be yourself?"

Danny blinked at Andy's questions. "Uh… I'm doing fine... No, I don't feel like I'm trapped, nor worried, and I am being myself… Why, bro?"

"Just want to make sure you're… doing fine," Andy answered nervously.

Danny frowned before crossing his arms. "If you ask me, you're the one who looks like he's feeling trapped and worried… and not at all like yourself."

"You don't need to worry about me being like that." Andy strained a grin. "How about you just continue doing what you're doing while I go turn in for the night?"

Danny frowned. "What's going on, Andy? You're acting all weird, like you're scared about something."

Andy frowned as he looked away from Danny. He wasn't sure if he could or should tell Danny about his visions of Danny looking evil with red eyes. He didn't want to scare or worry Danny about a future he wasn't even sure would happen, or what could lead into that. On the other hand, not telling Danny could be dangerous, because Danny wouldn't know to prepare himself from 'turning evil' or whatever.

Danny looked concerned now. "Andy? Is something wrong?"

Andy looked back at Danny for a moment, before his eyes wandered to the glowing Fenton Portal. The green swirling that could lead into an infinite realm of ghosts, a world of nonsense and spookiness.

Andy suddenly saw the Ghost Portal was off, like it was never turned on. He saw Tucker, Sam, and Takuya standing around it. He saw Danny looking at it with an unsure expression. Sam was fiddling with something on the wall of the ghost portal, then she tossed Danny his hazmat suit, which was in its original primary white and black color. Danny put the hazmat suit on. Andy blinked, and suddenly he was in the inactive portal with Danny. Danny leaned against the wall, pushing down a button. The portal suddenly whirred to life. Andy tried to run out of the portal. The portal suddenly came to life. There was bright green electricity going everywhere. Danny was screaming in agony. Andy felt numb for a moment, but then suddenly he started feeling white hot pain going through his body.

Andy was suddenly opening his eyes in someone's arms.

"Andy?! What happened?!" Danny asked his brother, worried now.

Andy let out a cough, feeling both hot and cold. He wasn't sure what just happened. He didn't think he was sick again, but it sure felt like it. Someone was lifting him up to his feet, but had their arms wrapped around him protectively.

"Andy… what happened? Talk to me, bro." Danny said worriedly.

It was then Andy realized that the one holding him was Danny, who was currently still a ghost. Danny was pretty cold, that would explain where the coldness was coming from, but it felt nice against his hot skin. He was also too disorientated to want to push away from Danny right now.

"I… I'm not sure… I… I think… I might've triggered a memory of the accident…?" Andy groggily guessed. "No… I… I wasn't there during the accident… but why… did I see it happening? … Why was Takuya there…? Why was I in it?"

Danny was looking panicked now. "Andy… you're speaking nonsense again. Are you sure you're okay?"

"Was it… the future? No… that's impossible… the portal was off… it shouldn't be off… right?" Andy questioned.

"Andy?" Danny lifted up Andy's head to have Andy look right at him.

Andy looked to be in a daze for a moment, before noticing the neon green eyes looking back at him. Andy yelped and flinched back, surprising Danny.

"Andy! Calm down! It's just me…" Danny reassured his brother.

Andy frowned. "I'm sorry, Danny. Don't…"

Andy stopped, realizing what he was about to say. Don't leave because I got scared of you again.

"Sorry… I… I think I'm just… stressed out right now," Andy said instead.

"Let's get you to bed." Danny said suddenly. "You look like you need rest more than ever."

Danny picked up Andy with ease with his ghostly strength, and flew up from the lab's ceiling. Going intangible was always weird for Andy, he could feel a weird coldness going through his body before he was suddenly going through solid matter like it wasn't even there. Danny seemed to be more used to it though.

Now in their room, Danny put Andy down in his bed.

"Wait, Danny…" Andy spoke up, sitting up from the bed. "When Vlad came to attack… I… didn't tell you everything he did…"

Danny turned to Andy. "Wait… What did Vlad do?!"

"It's not what he did… it's what he said…" Andy said quietly. "He… told me some things that… made me… worried about you…"

Andy told Danny about what Vlad said to him, about how Danny's ghost half could one day drive him to do something drastic. How Danny could go feral one day if he felt trapped and in danger by his own family. He even told Danny about his future vision, about seeing him with red eyes, and looking truly malicious. Which was why Andy had been so stressed out lately.

Upon hearing all this, Danny was livid! "How dare that fruit loop! He is so going to get it now!" Danny growled out, his eyes glowing that ectoplasmic green in anger.

"Danny, wait-" Andy tried to say, but Danny was already flying out of the house, and straight to where he thinks Vlad could be right now; the Axion Labs. "... Maybe I shouldn't have said anything…"

Takuya was quickly woken up by a frantic Andy.

"Wake up!" Andy all but yelled as he shook his older cousin.

"Ugh…" Takuya groaned as he opened his eyes sleepily. "What's with all the yelling?" He was definitely feeling sleep was going to be a rare thing if this kept happening.

"Takuya! I need you to go find Danny, hurry!" Andy urgently stated. "He went to go find Vlad, and I'm worried he's going to get himself hurt!"

Takuya's eyes flew wide open as he heard that. "What?!" He shot up out of bed and grabbed his D-Tector from his nightstand. "Why would Danny do that?!"

"I told him what Vlad said to me, and… it made Danny lose his temper." Andy frowned. "But this isn't the time for explanations, just go find that ghostly brother of mine before he gets himself fully killed!"

Takuya nodded. "I will, don't worry." He said in a reassuring manner. I'm going to be using my Fusion form again it looks like. He then turned to the door and made his way out of his room, his mission clear now.

When Takuya left the house, Andy rushed down into the lab. He didn't have Dorumon with him, but that didn't mean he could still try to find Danny himself either. Since Danny would be flying, his moped would never be able to catch up to him. Andy didn't know how to fly the Specter Speeder either, he really needed to get Tucker to teach him later. So he would have to try the next best thing.

Andy pulled out a few boxes, throwing out gadgets and gizmos that wouldn't help him much, or he had no idea what they were. He was looking for something specific. Andy managed to find it and take it out. "The Fenton Grappling Hook! I wonder if Jazz 'borrowed' hers from here too…"

Andy had never used a grappling hook before, he never had a reason to, until now. "Okay… just hope this doesn't end up killing me later…"

The boy hurried out of the house, seeing Aldamon flying away in a distance. Andy shot out the grappling hook at the nearest street light, and he yelped as it dragged him up. Now Andy found himself hanging by the street light. Yeah… this is going to take some getting used to...

Dorumon didn't like this. He didn't like being separated from Andy, especially when they were just attacked by Vlad. He also didn't like leaving Patamon alone, he couldn't help but get a bad feeling about something happening to Patamon, especially since he had been Vlad's partner before. Dorumon also couldn't help but feel like Patamon was sort of his responsibility too, since Patamon was, technically, younger than him, even though Patamon had knowledge and memories far beyond Dorumon's own life and past lives.

Lopmon noticed Dorumon was frowning and became concerned. "Are you okay, Dorumon? You look… troubled."

"I'm just feeling a bit anxious is all…" Dorumon frowned. "Aren't you worried about leaving your partner for too long? Or worried about Patamon since he's out there by himself?"

Lopmon looked down. "I will admit… I am worried about Patamon, and I am also worried about Jazz. I mean, why wouldn't I be? She doesn't have the ghost powers Danny does, nor does she have the ability to Spirit Evolve like Takuya. But… we can't just stay worried about our partners. We have to find that Impmon."

"Then shouldn't we split up instead of crowding together?" Terriermon asked. "We'd cover more ground if we split up. It's not like Impmon is super strong anyways."

"Terriermon does have a point. If we're to find one Digimon in this city, we would cover more ground splitting up than staying together," Gatomon agreed. "If Impmon was a stronger Digimon, then it would be wise to stick together, but he is only a Rookie level. We've battled with ghosts that are stronger than most Rookies at our lower levels. We should be able to handle Impmon on our own if one of us comes across him."

Lopmon nodded. "That sounds like our best bet. Let's split up and cover this section of town. If any one of us finds Impmon, don't hold back against him and do what you can to get that Digi-Egg back."

The Digimon began to split up. Lopmon and Terriermon took opposite directions of the city, while Gatomon, being the fast and nimble cat that she was, was hopping from building to building. Dorumon could hover in his current form, but he couldn't fly high unless he digivolved, which he couldn't do without Andy, so he was just going on foot in another direction.

As Dorumon walked, however, he recognized a familiar scent nearby. "You can talk to me you know, the others are gone… Valerie, Gomamon."

Valerie hovered down on her hoverboard and sighed. "You Digimon have quite the sense of smell, don't you?" She chuckled a bit. "I was sure I was following you at a distance you wouldn't be able to pick me up from."

"Well, I'm a bit more exceptional when it comes to my sense of smell," Dorumon chuckled. "You could say I'm more like a bloodhound among my fellow Digimon. Not even a Legendary Warrior would be able to smell the things I could. I figured you wanted to remain hidden from the others though, so I kept quiet about you two until we split up."

Valerie chuckled again. "That would be a good description." She agreed before she became serious. "So, what are you doing out here without Andy around?"

"We needed to find a Digimon called Impmon who escaped from the Digital World with a very dangerous Digi-Egg. And this late at night, it would hinder our partners if they had to come with us, so we decided to look for Impmon ourselves," Dorumon explained.

"I see. Impmon is a Rookie level Digimon, so it's no wonder you're feeling confident enough to look for him without your partners," Gomamon noted.

Valerie looked back at Dorumon. "And he has a dangerous Digimon's egg? No wonder you want to find this Impmon so bad."

"Hey… since you're here with that hoverboard, would you mind if I rode on it with you while we look for Impmon? I'll tell you more about that Digi-Egg he has while we look," Dorumon requested.

Valerie nodded. "Sure. I would be happy to help." She hovered down so Dorumon could get on the hoverboard. "Get on."

Dorumon hopped onto the hoverboard, since he was pretty small, he was able to get on it comfortably. Valerie noted that Dorumon was in front of her while Gomamon was behind her.

"Thanks. You might want to look at your D-Arc to see what Impmon looks like so you know what we're looking for," Dorumon pointed out.

Valerie took out her D-Arc and brought up Impmon's information. She saw an image of a dark purple Digimon that had a tail, a white face, green eyes, wore red gloves and a red kerchief, and had a yellow smiley face on its stomach area. "Huh… So that's Impmon? Yeah, that definitely looks like a Digimon that could cause mischief."

"We better get to looking. That Digi-Egg he has…" Dorumon began.

Meanwhile, at the Axion Labs, Patamon showed Calumon an easy way of getting inside to avoid the new security system. There was a small gap in the exterior of the building. It was no accident that the hole was there, however, when Patamon was Tsukaimon, he used his acid move on it to make that gap for himself. He had needed an easy way to get into Axion Labs without Vlad being around. This was one of those times Patamon was glad he thought of doing that when he was Tsukiamon. It was small enough for both him and Calumon to squeeze inside.

"Here we go. It seems the hole has been left alone." Patamon noted with relief. "We can use this to get inside."

"You said you made this hole?" Calumon asked. "Why?"

"There was a lot of research in these labs I needed to do when I was Tsukaimon," Patamon sighed. "I couldn't count on Vlad to not be too busy to come back here often, so I made my own little entrance."

"I guess it's lucky that you did," Calumon noted. "Makes it easier to come in here."

Patamon chuckled a bit. "It certainly does." He then began to wiggle into the small opening, making sure his ears/wings were folded back so he could get in easily.

Calumon retracted his ears before squeezing himself inside as well. "Whoa… it's pretty dark here…"

"Yeah, it's closed for the night, but that doesn't mean the security isn't on," Patamon warned. "Better watch your step, they had beefed up security here since the ghost dog incident. Not even ghosts can get through here as easily anymore."

Calumon looked down from where they were, he noticed they were on a high top part of the labs, which he was grateful for since it made it easier for him to see what was down there. He could see laser security, as well as security cameras all over the place. There was some glowing green stuff on the doors, likely to keep out the ghosts. What was creepy, however, were the moving, blinking red lights. Squinting his eyes, Calumon could see those were security guards, wearing night vision goggles. They were patrolling the area, armed to the teeth. They had not just guns in their arsenals, but ecto weapons as well. They meant business.

Patamon frowned as he saw that. "It's best we wait until these guards leave, because their night vision goggles would be able to see us. Either that, or we could fly above them, but…"

Patamon pointed at the security cameras that were on the ceilings.

"Oh jeez… are you sure we'll be able to find Impmon here? This place looks to be too tightly packed… with security." Calumon frowned.

Patamon nodded. "We should be able to. This is the most likely place where Impmon would meet with Dreammon's creator."

Patamon could see in the dark easier than Calumon could, mostly because of his unusual green eyes. Patamon noted that he could see in the dark easier than he ever could in his previous lives. It made Patamon wonder if his green eyes may have slight ectoplasmic ghost energy in them.

"We'll have to move quickly and quietly. Stay close to me, since you likely can't see in the dark as well as I can," Patamon whispered to Calumon.

Calumon nodded and stuck close to Patamon, even going as far as to hold onto one of the Celestial Rookie's ears.

"Don't grab onto my wing, I need that to glide down," Patamon stated. "You don't have to hold onto me, just stay close."

Calumon sheepishly chuckled before he let go of Patamon's wing.

Patamon looked down and up at the security cameras, waiting for them to move away from a particular spot. Once the opportunity rose, Patamon jumped and glided down quickly. Calumon quickly followed him. Since they were high up, they didn't need to worry about the guards yet, they just needed to get down first. Patamon stopped at a gap in the wall where they could hide until the cameras turned away again. Since Patamon had been in here several times before as Tsukaimon, he knew this place quite well, but the guards were going to make this extra tricky.

The two small Digimon continued to glide down, careful not to get spotted by the cameras. But now they were low enough where the security guards could see them if they tried to move out of their hiding spot at the wrong time.

"You're doing great, Calumon," Patamon whispered. I had been worried he would be afraid of the dark, but he seems to be doing fine despite that.

Calumon gave a slight blush. "Well… I learned that being scared of the dark didn't mean I had to be a baby about it. It's normal to be scared of the dark, but it doesn't mean the dark is scary or evil."

"That's a good way to look at it. The dark itself isn't scary…" Patamon narrowed his eyes as he saw more security guards patrolling around. "It's what's lurking inside it that is."

"What's the plan now? We can't look for Impmon if we're trying to keep from getting spotted ourselves." Calumon frowned.

Patamon frowned as well, realizing Calumon had a point. "Hmmm… We may need to find a way to at least make ourselves be invisible to the security cameras."

"Well, we can't turn ourselves invisible," Calumon noted. "But… what if we could disguise ourselves as one of the security guards?"

Patamon looked back at Calumon in confusion. "How would we do that? I'm a Rookie-level Digimon and you're… well… It's not like you can become Kumamon and blend in that way either."

"I don't think I have to worry about that. Look at what these guys are wearing; they have masks on, as well as coats over their bodies, covering some of their weapons," Calumon pointed out. "We just need to get our hands on a large coat, a mask, and night vision goggles."

Patamon began to see the plan. "I see… That's a good idea." He then looked around. "But where would we find the clothing items needed?"

Calumon looked around. While he couldn't see in the dark as easily as Patamon could, the red lights of the night vision goggles made it easy for Calumon to see where each of the security guards were. "We'll have to catch one of them off guard alone, knock them out and put their bodies somewhere hidden. Then we'll take their night vision goggles, coat, and maybe a gun or two just to make ourselves look more authentic."

Patamon nodded. "Very well. We'll wait until the next guard comes by and then knock them out."

Meanwhile, Danny was flying towards the Axion Labs, he had been so furious with Vlad after what Andy told him that he didn't even think about how he would get into the Axion Labs in the first place after they had beefed up their security against ghosts as well, nor did he think about if Vlad could really be there or not. He just couldn't believe that Vlad tried to dig into Andy's wound of doubt towards Danny's ghost half, and tried to make the wound bleed worse than it had initially. Danny had been trying hard to help Andy with his worries and doubts about Danny being half ghost since the Halloween thing, and to have Vlad throw all of that away just infuriated the ghost boy.

That fruit loop is so going to get it from me for what he did to Andy! Danny thought as he gritted his teeth in anger. His green eyes glowed with anger as well, giving him a creepy look even if he didn't mean it.

However, as Danny was flying through Amity Park, a red mist came out of his mouth. He recognized that as him sensing a Digimon nearby. Danny wanted to ignore it and keep going, but he also knew he couldn't just leave it in case the Digimon was hostile and could really hurt someone, especially after seeing the kind of damages Ranamon caused. So the ghost boy stopped to try to find the Digimon.

"Great… Where is this Digimon? I really want to get this out of the way so I can get back to finding Vlad..." Danny groaned as he looked around, looking for any sign of a Digimon in the area.

However, it didn't take long for Danny to recognize the Digimon signature. He could sense it was Aldamon, Takuya's fusion form, and he was closing in on him. Frowning, Danny turned himself invisible before flying low to the ground, trying to throw off Aldamon.

The Warrior of Flame came to a hover, frowning to himself. "I know I saw Danny here… Where is he?" The Fusion Evolved Digimon muttered to himself. He flew down lower and landed on the ground, trying to see any sign of Danny.

Danny frowned, still invisible, trying to suppress his ghostly aura as much as he could to keep Aldamon from sensing him. He walked back, since flying would put out too much ghostly energy. Danny knew Aldamon was here to try to stop him, and Danny wasn't confident enough to take on a fusion Legendary Warrior, especially since Ranamon already gave him a hard time, and that was with the help of Dolphmon, Patamon, and Dorumon.

Aldamon growled to himself, not sensing any sign of Danny in the area. "Damn it… Where is he?" The fusion Warrior of Flame flared his wings and took flight, hoping to find Danny from the sky.

Danny sighed in relief, seeing how Aldamon was starting to fly away. Heh, too bad he didn't remember I could sense him as easily as he could sense me.

Then Danny heard what sounded like a small crash, and some cursing.

"Ow! Okay, that's going to hurt in the morning… I got the swinging right, but the landing is still having me hit my butt!" A familiar voice complained.

Danny blinked as he turned. "Andy?!" He hadn't expected his brother to come out here as well.

However, Danny was still invisible, and Andy didn't hear him. Andy shot out the Fenton Grappling Hook again at a nearby building, having the hook grab onto the ledges of the building. Andy began to swing forward, not seeing the invisible ghost ahead of him. Danny wasn't intangible, only invisible, so Andy ended up crashing right into him, sending both brothers tumbling down the sidewalk. Andy was very confused as to what he just hit.

Danny returned to visibility. "Ouch…" He rubbed his head. "You need to watch where you're going, bro…"

"What the hell!?" Andy shouted, nearly getting a heart attack at Danny's sudden appearance after crashing into something cold and invisible. "You! How- what- why- why were you on the ground, invisible!? I thought you'd be miles away from here in the sky!"

"Blame it on a certain cousin turned Digimon of ours…" Danny grumbled. "He was out looking for me, so I had to land and turn invisible to throw him off…"

"Great, isn't that just my luck? I happen to crash right into the very person I was trying to find…" Andy grumbled. "Wait… isn't that a good thing?"

Danny blinked. "Uh… why were you looking for me? And… why were you swinging around with a grappling hook?"

"Well, a moped wasn't going to catch up to you," Andy grumbled. "Dorumon isn't with me. So swinging across the city like Spiderman it was. Too bad I'm awful at it! I'm going to be sore for a week! I'm sure I have a few bruises on my butt right now too, I don't think I'll be able to sit properly for a while."

Danny chuckled. "The butt bruises would be why."

"Gee, I never would've guessed, thanks Captain Obvious!" Andy snapped, before remembering why he was here. "Danny, you're not seriously thinking about confronting Vlad, are you?"

Danny frowned. "Why wouldn't I?" He countered. "Vlad hurt you, and in more ways than one! And I don't mean just physically either. He needs to pay for what he did to you!"

Despite Andy's earlier fears of having an angry, and possibly, vengeful ghost brother, he walked up to Danny and grabbed the ghost boy's shoulders with his hands. "Stop for a moment and actually use that genius brain of yours to think! Need I remind you how many times Vlad not only kicked your butt, but Dorumon, Takuya, me, and Mom had to pay the consequences for it? What do you think is going to happen if you go face him now with anger clouding your mind?"

Danny paused at hearing Andy's words. He remembered well what had happened to Andy and Dorumon at the reunion, and how Vlad had just brushed off Takuya like he was a mere fly, not even a threat to him. He also remembered how their mom had been affected by Vlad and his offer of a proposal. Danny looked down, feeling bad now. "Wow… I was probably going to play right into that fruit loop's hands…"

Then Danny noticed Andy's hands on his shoulders, and was surprised at his brother's boldness since he had been sure Andy would've started acting all meek and scared around him like he did before Danny reassured him during the Halloween thing.

"Andy… I was sure you would not be so bold after what Vlad told you." Danny noted,

"Listen, you knucklehead, I may not be 100% sure if what Vlad said is or could be true, but I meant what I said to Vlad too; he's not you. Just because he's half ghost himself doesn't mean he knows exactly what's going to happen to you, or the circumstances you'll be in in a month or so from now. And until you actually do start giving me reasons to be worried and concerned, I'll be seeing you as my twin brother who is struggling to learn how to use his ghost powers, and to figure out his unique biology. I only worry not for my own sake, but because I love and care about you, Danny, whether you're ghost, human, or something in-between, and I only want to do what I can to support and help you when you need it," Andy stated, squeezing Danny's shoulders a bit. "And I'm not about to let you get yourself kidnapped or possibly fully killed by those ghost hunters."

Danny blushed as he heard Andy's words. "Wow Andy, that was… really cheesy…" He mumbled.

Andy frowned a bit. "That's what you had to say about my heartfelt speech? Cheesy or not, you had to hear it."

Danny sighed. "I guess I did." He then chuckled a bit. "I know I said it sounded cheesy, but it seems the best speeches sound like that, so I can't complain. Yeah… I guess you have a point."

"Good," Andy let go of Danny's shoulders. "By the way, you're really cold when you're a ghost."

Danny blushed again. "What did you expect?! Ghosts are supposed to be cold to the touch!"

Andy hesitated, he had fought with other ghosts before, and had gotten their ectoplasm on him more than once. They were cold, yes, but Danny felt much colder than those other ghosts. The younger brother decided it might be best to keep that to himself.

"We should get you back home before the ghost hunters spot you," Andy suggested.

Before Danny could reply, however, they heard the sound of a machine powering up. Turning around, they saw a Guy in White agent aiming an ecto bazooka at Danny.

Danny froze. "Uh oh…" He gulped.

While not exactly close to where the brothers were, Aldamon did have one advantage over humans, and that was he possessed sharper senses than humans did. So he was surprised when he heard what sounded like an ecto-bazooka powering up, picked up thanks to his sharper hearing. Looking down in the direction of the sound, Aldamon felt his heart/Digi-Core skip a beat as he saw a Guy in White aiming the bazooka at none other than Danny and Andy.

"Shit…" Aldamon swore to himself before he flew back in that direction. He wasn't about to let either of his cousins get hurt, not if he could help it!

The ecto bazooka fired again. Danny looked torn, he wanted to fly away to safety, but he didn't want to leave Andy behind. He also knew if he took Andy with him, however, it would only make him look bad though, like he was kidnapping his own brother.

"Invisobill, by order of the government, and my superiors, you will be taken into custody of the Guys in White, and will be experimented on, with lots and lots of painful experiments," The agent stated with an almost sadistic grin on his face.

However, before the Guy in White could do just that, a familiar winged form came in and landed in front of the twins, sharp fangs revealed as he fell into a fighting stance, wings flared in a menacing fashion as his tail swished around behind him slowly. "No one is doing anything like that!" Aldamon hissed, his voice holding the harshest tone he had ever given any living being. He even had his cannons opened and deployed if he needed to use them.

The agent was taken by surprise by the sudden appearance of Aldamon. However, the agent wasn't alone, he had three more agents, pointing their weapons at Aldamon, while some were pointing at Danny, and by extension, Andy. The Extreme Ghostbreakers just happened to be crossing the area on their ATVs, and stopped when they noticed the million dollar ghost.

"Hey, check out the action, it's the million dollar ghost, and his familiar, dude!" The young adult man pointed out with an excited grin.

"I'm a girl!" The female adult pointed out with a grumble before she grinned. "But let's crash that scene and get the million dollar ghost!"

Andy looked around, seeing the situation was getting worse. Aldamon could definitely handle them, but that would mean he'd risk killing or severely hurting human beings. Then the Groovy Gang's van pulled up as well. Really? All the ghost hunters just decided to show up at this one spot at the same time? What is this, a story being written by a couple of sadistic authors?

Aldamon growled, feeling sweat running down his face a bit. I know I can handle these guys, but… I can't risk using my attacks. I would need to get physical, but is it worth the risk? I would leave Danny and Andy open to being hurt if I did… If only I had a defensive move… Like a barrier of some kind...

The lanky man, the glasses wearing woman, and the big, scaredy white tiger all came out of the van, looking at the scene.

"Like… maybe we shouldn't get involved this time?" The lanky man asked, a bit nervous.

"Do you want that million dollars or not?" The woman frowned.

"Yes, but, like, we have competition. And, like, I'm not sure how we would fair against the ghost's familiar…" The lanky man replied.

Seeing the shaking white tiger, Andy realized this was a good time to cause a distraction, if he could just spook the tiger. Andy looked up at Aldamon, before reaching into his pocket. The ecto guns were all aimed at Danny, they weren't even paying attention to the unlucky kid the ghost boy decided to 'try to kidnap'. Andy typed something into his D-Arc, something to Aldamon.

While Aldamon's D-Tector wasn't on his person when he was evolved, he still got a message in his head. "Try to flare up your fire as a scare tactic. It should cause the tiger to jump on someone out of fear, or pounce someone while trying to run away. -Andy"

Aldamon glanced back at Andy with one of his eyes and gave the subtlest of nods. Aldamon then returned his gaze to the group around him and in an intimidation tactic, he let out a loud roar as his wings flared again and fire began to flare from his body, concentrated more around his wings than anything else. The sight was definitely something to be afraid of.

Most of the people had to shut their eyes from the brightness of the fiery wings. The white tiger let out a scared shriek before it jumped so hard that it pounced almost all of the Guys in White agents, pinning them to the ground with its weight. Using that as a distraction, Andy grabbed onto Danny's gloved hand.

"Turn yourself invisible, now!" Andy hissed out the instruction.

Danny nodded and turned invisible, which also turned Andy invisible due to Andy holding on to his gloved hand.

"Now hold on, don't let go," Andy whispered before he shot out his grappling hook at a nearby building's ledge, and used that to swing himself and Danny away from the scene as quickly as possible, he wanted to do that so it would cause the ghost hunters' scanners to pick up on Danny flying away.

As soon as Aldamon sensed Danny and Andy were out of the area, he released his fiery show and took flight himself, making sure he stayed away from the ghost hunters' location.

After they all got away, the hunters were very confused, and also very annoyed. The agents were grumbling at the Groovy Gang for their big tiger pouncing on them and allowing the ghost boy and his familiar to get away.

Meanwhile, Andy managed to swing both himself and Danny far enough away from the ghost hunters that he could stop swinging… only to land on his butt again.

"I really need to work on my landing…" Andy grumbled.

Danny chuckled. "It will come with practice." He assured his brother.

Danny dropped his invisibility to show he was floating slightly after Andy fell on his butt.

"Argh! No fair, you can fly!" Andy whined.

Danny sheepishly grinned. "It comes with being half ghost, bro… but I have to say… that was some quick thinking back there. I thought for sure I was going to get caught."

"Yeah… it's important to stay calm in any situation, even if it looks bleak," Andy sighed. "But like I said, it's too dangerous to have you out here in your ghost form. If only there was a way to get them to leave…"

At that point, Aldamon finally found the twins and came in for a landing nearby. He made his way over to them. "Care to explain how you got yourselves into that situation back there?"

"Unlucky coincidence?" Danny grinned sheepishly.

"Yeah… that's basically it…" Andy sighed.

Aldamon sighed in response. " I can't believe this…" He said as he shook his head. "All I was asked to do was find you and bring you back home, Danny. Why do you keep getting yourself into these situations?"

"That's just our life," Andy grumbled. "We need to get them to leave. We can't keep having them running around, shooting down Danny whenever he flies in Amity Park. I think the Guys in White are also starting to send in reinforcements."

Aldamon groaned. "Those GiW agents are the ones we have to get out of Amity Park. It sounds like they are the most dangerous."

"But how are we going to get them to leave?" Danny frowned. "They won't fu- erm, effing leave me alone until they capture me!"

Aldamon frowned as well before he looked down in thought. "It's not like I can scare them off though. I mean, they think I'm your 'familiar'. Even if I tried that, they would just remain here and try to catch me as well."

"It's too bad Danny is a real half ghost, otherwise I would've suggested that he pretended he was just a really good ghost cosplayer, using holograms or grappling hooks to make it look like he was flying," Andy remarked. "Then they would likely leave, thinking the ghost boy was just a hoax all this time."

That was when Danny's neon green eyes looked at his twin brother as an idea began to form in his head.

"... I don't like that look in your eyes, bro…" Andy frowned.

"Andy~ How would you like to be Danny Phantom for the night?~" Danny grinned.

"... Excuse me?" Andy stared at Danny in disbelief.

Aldamon then caught on to the plan as well. However, he had his doubts about the plan. "But how will we explain the lack of the 'familiar'?"

Danny grinned. "I know it's late, but I'm going to call Tucker and Sam, they can help with the special effects~"

Aldamon blinked, not liking the sound of that. "Oh boy…"

Titanic X: ZAFT: Goop grenades for the win~! XD Andy loves himself some explosions. :3

Julie: DarkFoxKit: Glad to hear from a new fan, it's always nice to hear from people. I liked Impmon from Digimon Tamers, though we haven't given him a big role yet, we do plan to use him for something in the future.

ZAFT: Trust me, things will get more interesting with Impmon soon enough. XD

Ed: DarkFoxKit: I would love to answer this question, but that would be spoilers. I don't want to reveal whether or not we're going to have our characters bio-merge with their Digimon right now, since that's still a bit ways away. And… by Dark Danny, I'm assuming you mean Dan from The Ultimate Enemy, right? Well, we have plans for that.

ZAFT: Again, those plans are spoiler territory, but rest assured, you will enjoy those plans. :3

DarkFoxKit: Well, we're hoping you would like it anyways.

Luna Lillyth: ZAFT: Glad you could rejoin us. :3 We love your reviews, and yeah, blame Kit for giving Valerie a Digimon partner. But it worked out, so I can't complain either. :3 And Andy will resolve his issues soon enough. ;3
