Hi guys. You're probably tired of me always apologising for the lengths between updates. I feel bad for keeping everyone waiting but I always like to make sure the chapters are the best they can be. I hope everyone is still well through what's been a strange year.

RSBCS:
Thank you :) Aw, that would have been the perfect title for the last chapter! 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' I was struggling to think up a good chapter title and had to settle with a brief encounter. If I decide to change it, would I be able to use that instead?
Greymon Leader Batx flashpoint: Aw thank you, I'm glad people are still enjoying this story even after all this time.
Sweet Cari: Thanks! I did have fun writing that one :)
Sync The Dragon Tempest: Yeah I'm still updating, even if it does take me a while! thank you :)
Dragonoid x shoutmon: You'll just have to wait and see ;)
DinoGuy2000: Thank you :)
Rowlet10: Aw thanks, hope this latest chapter doesn't disappoint!
TristPHT: There's still a lot to happen, and we'll be back to the dark area in this one :)
Goku275: Thank you, even though it does take me a long time between updates I will make sure this is finished
Anilee 10: I do have some other stories planned that are spinoffs from 2.5 but I haven't really thought about crossovers

Digimon 2.5

Episode 59: "The Past and the Furious"

.:No. 6 Battery Island, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

"So, now that we've taken care of the creepy wizard, now what do we do?" Dan asked the group. They were still standing on the bridge of the castle as only a few minutes had passed since their fight with Wisemon had ended.

"We go and help our parents don't we?" MJ replied.

"We certainly can't stay here in case Grandracmon returns." Jonathon added.

"Where is Grandracmon anyway?" Margaret wondered, glancing over looking out onto the bay. "I can't see him or Daemon anywhere."

"Maybe they destroyed each other?" Cyberdramon suggested.

James scoffed a little, folding his arms. "We're never that lucky. Besides unless Dawn has reached his castle in the Dark Area and destroyed his soul he's still unbeatable."

Stacey was standing slightly apart from the group, still staring up at the sky where Wisemon had last been seen.

ZeedGarurumon noticed his partner seemed distracted, and stepped away from the group to stand beside her. "What's wrong?"

Stacey frowned somewhat. "…I don't think Wisemon is truly gone." She hesitantly said, now catching the attention of the others.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Dan asked a little bluntly.

The Ishida girl turned her attention away from the sky and faced the group. "I just have this gut feeling that we didn't beat him… that he managed to escape at the last second somehow."

Dan was about to protest, but Jonathon interrupted him. "I can see your point." He agreed. "He is a master of illusion, and perhaps that was his plan to make us think we have defeated him."

"It is possible." Wizardmon agreed.

"So… if we didn't defeat him, where is he?" JewelBeemon wondered.

Suddenly, a dark red aura surrounded the children and their partners freezing them on the spot so they were unable to move. "What's happening?" Margaret gasped.

"Did you really think you could beat me that easily?" a voice called out.

As they were still able to turn their heads, the DigiDestined looked in the direction of the voice to see Wisemon standing on top of one of the supporting towers of Rainbow Bridge. Dan gawped. "But, how did you?-"

"As you're friend said; I am a master of illusion." Wisemon replied calmly. He rose up slightly off the bridge before gliding down across the short space of water between the bridge and the battery island. "Did you believe by simply destroying my book it would be easier for you to destroy me? It seems you young DigiDestined still have a lot to learn…" Using his powers, he summoned some of the broken ice that was still floating against the side of the island with his right hand. He manoeuvred nine square shaped pieces a little further out into the water, spreading them apart. Then using his left hand he increased the power in the aura, causing the Digimon to de-digivolve back into their rookie forms, much to the astonishment of the children. With a flick of his wrist, he levitated the DigiDestined slowly into the air before moving them out onto the water and dropping each of them down onto the pieces of ice leaving only Wizardmon still standing on the bridge.

Wizardmon narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "What's your game Wisemon?" he demanded.

Wisemon chuckled under his breath before he used his right hand to manipulate the nine pieces of ice. Strong bar like structures began to rise out around the outside of the ice, moving upwards before bending at the top and fusing together, trapping the children and their Digimon in ice cages. Once they were trapped, he disabled the aura around their bodies, before casting a spell in the bars causing them to glow a dark blue. "I wouldn't waste your strength trying to escape. The spell surrounding your cages is restricting your Digimon's power so they are unable to digivolve."

"That's a dirty trick, Wisemon!" Dan shouted as he scrambled to his feet, glaring up at him.

"I never said I play fair…" Wisemon teased before he turned around to face Wizardmon. "I'll let Lord Grandracmon deal with them later, but now; following his orders you will pay the price for aiding the DigiDestined in this war…"

Wizardmon frowned, grasping his staff in both hands as he prepared himself for the fight he was now facing…

.:Dark Area, Digital World:.

Dawn stared up at the deep gorge they had fallen into upon arriving in the Dark Area. The walls of rock were terrifyingly tall and narrow, making them feel somewhat small and insignificant. Above them was the black abyss they had fallen through earlier. Looking at it, now she could understand why those creatures in the Dark Ocean said no one ever returned from here. It looked as if there was no way back through, and she certainly couldn't locate the exact place they had fallen from…

"We need to get a better look at this place," her father said, breaking her from her thoughts. "We can't see anything down here expect for rock."

"Want me to check it out?" Agumon asked as he handed Tai his cell phone back, which he had surprisingly managed to keep hold of during their fall.

Tai nodded. "Yeah," he said as he placed his phone back in his pocket. "We need to get some clue as to where we are and if it can point us in the right direction."

Dawn watched as her father's partner transformed into WarGreymon and took off flying up high above them. "Shouldn't we all go up there? Somehow I don't think Grandracmon's castle is going to be down here Dad." She said as she approached him.

"I just want to make sure it's safe up there first." Tai replied, watching WarGreymon.

"Safe? We're in the Dark Area. I bet nowhere in this place is safe." Dawn added.

Tai briefly frowned at his daughter, who responded with a flash of a cheeky smile. "Thank you for reminding me, but at the moment it looks like we're alone so I want to make sure it stays that way."

WarGreymon slowed his pace down as he reached the top of the gorge. Once he was clear of the top, he was met with a vast stretch of wasteland on either side with a faint mist lurking just on the surface. The land was covered with misshapen rocks, some that looked like spikes curving up out of the ground. On one side of the gorge the wasteland seemed to stretch for miles until it disappeared into darkness, whilst on the other side WarGreymon could just make out some mountains in the misty distance. Glancing down at the gorge, he saw it stretched a very long way, with parts of it splitting off into different directions, making it almost like a maze in the ground. There was also a darker mist rising up from inside it. He turned his attention back to the mountains in the distance where the mist seemed to be a little thicker. "Something's telling me we should head in that direction…" he thought aloud. "Let's hope I'm right,"

As he turned about to fly back down into the gorge, suddenly out of nowhere something, or indeed someone, crashed into him. In a flash he was thrown back clear across the gorge, landing on the other side tumbling onto the dusty wasteland.

"WarGreymon!" Tai shouted in shock as his partner suddenly disappeared from view.

"What happened?" Dawn gasped.

WarGreymon groaned a little as he got to his feet. Through the dust trial he had created from his impact he looked up to see a large green Digimon had also fallen to the ground from the midair collision. He watched as the Digimon grunted, getting to his feet. Part of his body was covered in a multitude of skulls, and lying next to him was a large sword that looked as if it had been carved from the bones of a SkullGreymon.

"Why don't you watch where you're going!" the Digimon, Titamon, snapped as he retrieved his sword.

"Excuse me?" WarGreymon responded bluntly.

Titamon then looked up, seeing WarGreymon properly for the first time once the dust had completely disappeared. "So…" he growled. "Not only was someone careless enough to get in my way, it's also a Digimon who doesn't belong here. You're going to pay for that!" He threatened before immediately charging at him.

Although WarGreymon was a little taken back by how fast the situation had escalated, he acted quickly and swiftly jumped out of the way. He glanced briefly behind to see Titamon had attempted to swing his sword, but due to WarGreymon's quick reflexes he had missed and ended up stumbling, falling to the ground once more. WarGreymon huffed and soared through the air as fast as he could back towards the gorge. He was about to dive back down, when Titamon appeared again, side tackling him and slamming him into the side of the gorge and pinning him against the rock as Tai could only watch on from below.

"What's that guy's problem?" Agumon frowned.

Dawn unclipped her digivice, hoping to get some information on the hostile Digimon high above them. She groaned as her screen remained blank. "We're too far down. My digivice won't pick up anything on him from down here."

"Nobody turns their back on me," Titamon growled as he pressed his sword against WarGreymon's chest. "Especially Digimon from that pathetic world above us. You need to be taught a lesson-"

"I don't have time for this." WarGreymon said cutting Titamon off before he shoved him away, freeing himself. He tried once again to fly down to the others but Titamon then raised his sword and fired a powerful beam directly at him. The force of the attack blasted him away further down the gorge.

As Titamon flew after him, Tai immediately took off to catch them up.

"Dad, wait up!" Dawn called as she and her Agumon ran after him.

Titamon began to swing his sword continuously, but WarGreymon managed to block it each time using the armour on his arms.

"Agumon, you better digivolve. It looks like WarGreymon needs help!" Dawn ordered as they continued to run. She quickly released her digital ring and placed it inside her d-watch…

"AGUMON WARP DIGIVOLVE TO… VICTORYGREYMON!"

VictoryGreymon flew ahead, passing over Tai. As he approached the fight, WarGreymon grabbed the shield on his back and held it up, blocking Titamon's sword. VictoryGreymon took the opportunity and flew up raising his own sword. In a flash he appeared in between WarGreymon and Titamon and swung his sword down with all his might into Titamon's.

Titamon yelped in pain as the sudden force of the attack caused him to lose his grip on his sword which he had only been holding in his right hand. The sword was sent spiralling down below, lodging itself in the rock. Titamon growled as he narrowed his eyes, now turning his attention to Dawn's partner. "So, another Digimon wants to get in my way too, huh?"

"What's your problem?" VictoryGreymon demanded.

"Your friend here got in my way, and now you're going to pay for knocking my sword out of my hand." Titamon threatened. He lunged forward and dealt them each a swift punch with his large fists knocking them back allowing him then to dive down to retrieve his sword. With one smooth swoop, he grabbed his sword and easily pulled it free from the rock before flying back up to continue the fight. He aimed for VictoryGreymon first, who defended each assault with his own sword.

Dawn watched on from below standing a few feet behind her father as her partner attempted to land a strike with his dramon breaker. But her attention was soon diverted when she thought she saw something shadowy move by out of the corner of her eye. "Huh?" she turned her head to the right and looked around, but couldn't see anything. Something else then caught her eye, but by the time she had turned to look, whatever it was had vanished. She cautiously looked around for any sign of movement. As she did, her eyes fell upon a rock sticking out of the ground. It was shaped like a rough looking headstone… and there were a few similar looking rocks close by. Again, she thought she saw another shadowy figure move by just behind her. Dawn slowly began to step back. "Uhh… Dad," she said a little nervously. "I don't think we're alone down here…"

Dawn's comment was enough to turn Tai's attention away from the ongoing fight. He turned to look at his daughter, at first unsure what she was referring to…

"Well, well what do we have here?" a voice suddenly echoed through the gorge, causing them to flinch in surprise. "A couple of DigiDestine' wanting to join the dark side?"

Tai froze as he recognized the voice… a voice he hadn't heard since he was a kid. "Etemon…" As he slowly turned around to look behind him, out from the ground emerged the dark ghost like figure of MetalEtemon.

The former mega Digimon chuckled. "Long time no see…"

.:Telecom Centre, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

ChaosGallantmon made his way down a small deserted street that was near to the Telecom Centre. He swung his spear, clearing his path that had been blocked by an abandoned car. As the car collided with a parked truck, he paused for a moment. He had been searching the area for a while with no sign of anyone, but now he had a feeling he wasn't alone. He remained still for a moment longer as he listened carefully, before he suddenly spun around looking up to see Imperialdramon fighter mode soaring down at him from above, his sword of light aimed at him. ChaosGallantmon swiftly leapt back, gliding through the air to safety as Imperialdramon's sword impaled the ground. "Nice try," ChaosGallantmon humoured as he dropped back down onto the road.

Imperialdramon pulled his sword free as Davis, Ken, Kari, Yolei and Mimi appeared from behind one of the buildings. "We have some unfinished business." He growled, pointing his sword at ChaosGallantmon once more.

"Indeed we do," ChaosGallantmon agreed with a sly smile. The two mega Digimon then charged at each other and began to fight, their weapons clashing. As they both swung their weapons at each other, ChaosGallantmon was forced to raise his shield as Imperialdramon almost landed a strike. "This will not end well for you," he warned, before he swung his spear once more.

Imperialdramon jumped back. When ChaosGallantmon had raised his shield, he noticed the cracks on the front…

"Static Force!" From above, Silphymon glided at super speed down towards ChaosGallantmon, slamming a powerful shockwave into him from the side just as he backed up from Imperialdramon.

The force of the attack sent ChaosGallantmon crashing through a ground floor glass window in a nearby building. The surprise attack had now enraged him. He got back to his feet and in frustration ignited a blast inside the building, causing the broken glass to explode out onto the street, covering Imperialdramon and Silphymon. He glided out from inside the building and landed back on the sidewalk.

"Flower Wreath!" In a flash, Lillymon zipped around him, wrapping a rope of vine and flowers around his body, temporally suspending him.

"Hearts Attack!"

"Fireball!"

ChaosGallantmon grunted before he broke free from Lillymon's rope. He swiftly dealt with Monzaemon and Meramon's attacks. He swung his spear, slicing through the pink hearts before raising his shield, which then blocked the fireballs. He then fired two blasts from the tip of his spear, each one taking out Monzaemon and Meramon that were positioned either side of him, knocking them back.

"Uni Kick!" Unimon suddenly jumped down from above before raising his hind legs and unleashing an almighty kick, but ChaosGallantmon swung his shield in the way. After successfully blocking the kick, he then used his shield and swatted Unimon away as if he was an insect. Unimon hit the ground and skidded to a stop near to Meramon.

Imperialdramon charged, but ChaosGallantmon soared up into the air out of the way. Davis and Ken ran out into the middle of the street and watched as the two mega Digimon moved the fight up into the sky.

Meramon appeared beside Ken, as Kari, Yolei and Mimi also joined them. "Blazing Flames!" As ChaosGallantmon glided through the air, Meramon flung three fireballs one after the other in attempt to strike the dark knight, but ChaosGallantmon simply manoeuvred around them and the fireballs disappeared through the clouds above.

"Positron Laser!" Imperialdramon fired his gun, shooting a powerful blast whilst ChaosGallantmon had his back turned.

ChaosGallantmon quickly turned around and blocked the blast with his shield. Once it had ceased, he pointed his spear at Imperialdramon. "Chaos Shot!"

Imperialdramon wasn't as quick, and the blast hit him knocking him out of the sky.

"Magma Blast!" Meramon summoned a shower of magma rocks high above in the sky, allowing them to rain down upon ChaosGallantmon.

ChaosGallantmon held his shield above his head, allowing the rocks to rebound off, but a couple of the rocks managed to hit him, burning his right arm. He flinched in pain, and at that point Imperialdramon reappeared and tackled him out of the sky.

Still with his hold on ChaosGallantmon and using the momentum, Imperialdramon slammed him into the ground, although his aim was a little off and they both landed in the fountain in the Waterfall Park Plaza, causing water to spray everywhere.

The DigiDestined, along with Meramon and Monzaemon cut through a pathway between two buildings and entered the park. "Imperialdramon, this is no time for a swim!" Davis exclaimed.

Unimon circled around the fountain before unleashing a powerful blast from his mouth. "Ariel Attack!"

"Flower Cannon!" Lillymon fired a shot from her cannon.

Silphymon landed on the ground and immediately fired her attack. "Static Force!"

Each attack hit ChaosGallantmon, one after the other. He growled before he rose up out of the fountain, water dripping off his body and a couple of scuff marks on his armour from where the attacks had hit. "Your attacks are feeble."

Imperialdramon landed beside Davis and Ken. "I've noticed his shield is damaged."

"It's probably from when he was fighting Daemon…" Ken said quietly.

"Then we can weaken his defence if we get rid of that shield," Davis added. "Imperialdramon, blast that thing to pieces!"

"You got it," Imperialdramon nodded before he took off again charging straight at the dark knight. "Positron Laser!"

ChaosGallantmon twisted his body so he just missed the oncoming blast, allowing the shot to continue on its path until it struck the corner of the Telecom Centre building in the background. "You fools cannot beat me, even with your little army. You must be really desperate if you are relying on the likes of a pony and a teddy bear to help you win this fight." He taunted.

"They just want to help us put a stop to all this!" Mimi said defiantly.

ChaosGallantmon chuckled. "How nice of them… but you've just made my job a lot more entertaining. I'm going to enjoy taking your puny friends down." He aimed his spear at the closest Digimon to him, which was Monzaemon…

"No!" Imperialdramon jumped up and pushed ChaosGallantmon's spear upwards just at the right time, causing him to misfire his shot high up into the sky…

ChaosGallantmon snarled as Imperialdramon retreated back to a safer distance. "You are starting to irritate me… Chaos Crusher!" he fired an almighty dark beam from his shield, forcing Imperialdramon to jump out of the way. The beam shot across the park, corroding everything it came into contact with.

"Watch out!" Ken exclaimed as he pushed Yolei to the right, as the beam caused the group to split in opposite directions.

As ChaosGallantmon lowered his shield, he was surprised to see the extra damaged that had incurred. As his shield was already weakened from the fight with Daemon, performing his Chaos Crusher attack had just been a little too much for it to handle and one of the cracks had grown a little bigger.

"I wouldn't try that again if I were you," Imperialdramon said slyly, to which the dark knight Digimon snarled in response.

.:Dark Area, Digital World:.

WarGreymon and VictoryGreymon continued their fight against Titamon. The shaman Digimon was holding strong against them, managing to block each attack they threw at him. Titamon raised his sword, which blocked VictoryGreymon's before he swung his around and took out WarGreymon who tried an assault from behind.

Down below on the ground, MetalEtemon chuckled, posing with his hands on his hips. "If I'd known we would be having guests I would have prepared a song,"

"Etemon…" Tai groaned somewhat. "And I thought we wouldn't have to hear your awful singing ever again."

"That's MetalEtemon to you!" MetalEtemon corrected him. His body was missing detail, as his ghostly image only consisted of dark data, some parts of which were incomplete and jittery. "Oh that's right you weren't there for my encore in the Digital World. After that pussy cat SaberLeomon sunk his claws into me I wasn't so lucky in escaping Anubismon for a second time. He trapped my data down here for eternity with the rest of the Digital World's rejects."

"Hey who are you calling rejects you oversized trash can?" another familiar voice suddenly butted in.

"I see the deadwood's awake…" MetalEtemon commented flatly.

Tai turned to look to his left to see the ghostly image of Puppetmon rise up from the ground.

"Come to play some more games? Sorry to disappoint but thanks to you I'm fresh out of toys!" the former Dark Master snapped. "Guys, c'mon up here. We have company." He then called.

Tai watched as the ghosts of Piedmon, Machinedramon, MetalSeadramon and Devimon rose up from different locations in the ground. "Oh great… we've gate crashed the villains' reunion…" he commented sarcastically.

"Dad, what's going on?" Dawn asked.

"Well well look what's been dragged down here… come to gloat have we?" Piedmon griped.

"You DigiDestined have some nerve showing your faces here after what you did to us." MetalSeadramon spoke sadistically.

"Thanks to you we're nothing but a ghostly shadow stuck in this miserable graveyard." Machinedramon growled.

"Hey you all got what you deserved," Tai shot back. "It feels good to see how far you've all fallen and degraded after all this time."

"This must be the graveyard Azulongmon mentioned." Dawn said quietly.

"That's right," Devimon said bluntly. "Any Digimon who Anubismon doesn't believe worthy to return to the Digital World is banished here to the graveyard of deleted data."

As Dawn looked at each of the Digimon that her parents had defeated all those years ago, she suddenly had a strange feeling that she was being watched. She slowly turned around to look behind to see the small ghost of Datamon a few feet away, staring at her. She stepped back, almost bumping into her father. "I should have known you would be rusting away down here as well." She said.

"I see you have not lost your cheek child." The former robotic Digimon remarked, to which the Kamiya girl glared at him in response.

Further down the gorge, WarGreymon dived to the right to avoid Titamon's sword. "Look, we didn't come here looking for trouble," he tried to reassure the mega Digimon. "We don't want to fight you-" he was abruptly cut off as he was forced to quickly fly higher up out of the way as Titamon charged through the air in an attempt to impale him. But all Titamon was able to impale was the side of the gorge, getting his sword lodged firmly in the rock. WarGreymon descended down just behind him. "-but it looks like you give us no choice… Terra Force!" he unleashed his signature move, as Titamon struggled to free his sword.

The mighty sphere of energy struck the gorge, causing chunks of rock to explode everywhere. When the thick smoke from the impact started to clear, WarGreymon looked to see a huge crater was now in the side of the gorge with no sign of Titamon… But his hopefulness was short lived, as Titamon suddenly tackled him from above, carrying him all the way down until they both hit the ground.

"You should have thought of that before you got in my way!" Titamon exclaimed before he raised his sword above WarGreymon who was still lying on the ground. He swung it down, but it was blocked by VictoryGreymon suddenly dropping down in between them and raising his own sword in defense.

"You know, technically it was you who wasn't looking where you were going…" VictoryGreymon mocked as he continued to press his sword against Titamon's. "You got in our way…. Dramon Breaker!" Focusing all of his strength into his sword, he managed to throw Titamon back.

Titamon managed to keep his balance, skidding a little against the ground to a stop. "You dare to accuse me?" he spat. "Now you are just making me mad…" he growled before he charged at them once more.

Tai briefly glanced to his right at the ongoing battle. He frowned before turning his attention back to the ghost Digimon. "Look, as much as we would love to stay here and gloat about how we beat you all; we have more important matters to deal with." He turned to leave, but the ghost of MetalEtemon suddenly reappeared up through the ground, blocking his path.

"What's the hurry? We were just starting to get reacquainted." He chuckled. "It's not every day we get guests stumbling into the Dark Area."

"You must forgive us for wanting to have a little fun," Piedmon teased as he and the rest of the former villains began to surround Tai and Dawn. "After all these years imprisoned down here the same company can get a little tedious."

Tai put his hands on his daughter's shoulders gently pulling her a little closer to him, although the ten year old kept glaring at the former robotic Digimon in front of her.

"It amuses me that even though we can't physically hurt you we can still intimidate you purely by our presence," Datamon mused deviously.

"Hey, you still don't scare me; you old rust bucket!" Dawn shot back.

MetalSeadramon slithered closer, curving his long body around the father and daughter in a loop. "As much as we hate you DigiDestined I'm a little curious to know why you are here…it's not the sort of place you would visit voluntary…"

Even though Tai knew the ghosts didn't hold any power and were unable to hurt them, he still felt a little uneasy at how close MetalSeadramon was. "Like we'd tell you that." He replied sharply.

MetalEtemon chuckled. "We may be imprisoned down here but believe it or not news still travels through these graveyards. Last we heard rumor had it the Nightmare Six had left for the Digital World. A little trouble up there in paradise?" he teased, although Tai and Dawn remained silent.

"There would only be one reason why the Nightmare Six would leave Grandracmon's castle and that would be the return of Grandracmon himself." Puppetmon commented. He then sniggered. "If that's true you DigiDestined may have finally met your match, and I hope MetalGarurumon suffers badly after what he did to me."

Dawn smiled somewhat to herself. "So… his castle his near here?" she asked.

"Are you kidding?" Puppetmon scoffed. "Grandracmon's castle is hidden in the mountains. He wouldn't leave his castle exposed out here in these wastelands."

Tai and Dawn briefly glanced and smiled at each other, which didn't go unnoticed.

"You great piece of rotted wood!" MetalEtemon exclaimed.

"Even after all these years Puppetmon you still don't know when to keep your wooden trap shut." Machinedramon also growled.

"Phantom Blade!"

The sound of Titamon calling out his attack seemed to suddenly stun the former villains, who hadn't noticed his presence until now. "You fools!" Piedmon suddenly snapped. "Are you not satisfied enough you banished us down here for eternity you also have to lure that oaf Titamon to us as well?!"

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Tai said looking somewhat confused, as Dawn noticed a couple of the ghosts retreated back a little, and Machinedramon disappeared back under the ground.

"That Digimon is not welcome here. He was born from the hatred of Digimon who had been defeated by the Olympus Twelve. He seeks their heads and won't stop at nothing to become as powerful as he can be so he can defeat them." Devimon stated.

"He roams these graveyards in search of our souls, knowing that amongst the dead the strongest and most hateful Digimon lie here. He feeds off our data which strengthens his own." Datamon explained. "And I am certainly not going to stay here and give you DigiDestined the satisfaction of watching him finish me off for good. As long as I remain in this graveyard there is always a little hope one day I may find a way to escape and get my revenge on you." He then descended down back into the ground, followed by Devimon.

"That goes for us too," Piedmon announced, as MetalSeadramon and Puppetmon also disappeared. "If you manage to leave this place alive I'm sure one day we will meet again… and when that time comes I'll make sure to have some new tricks up my sleeve." He taunted with a chuckle before he also descended back down.

"Good luck Digidestine'… you're gonna need it." MetalEtemon laughed before he too left.

Now alone, Tai and Dawn took no hesitation in running down the gorge to where their Digimon were still fighting. "C'mon you two, wrap this up. We're wasting time!" Tai exclaimed.

WarGreymon raised his right arm, grabbing hold of Titamon's sword as it came towards him. "We're trying… but this is one stubborn and angry Digimon." Titamon then dealt a swift punch, knocking him back. WarGreymon stumbled, and was forced to jump further back as Titamon came at him again with his sword raised above his head. The sword impaled the ground, causing a huge crack to appear.

"Nobody gets in my way!" Titamon raged before he charged again.

"Geez, he seems to get angry over the smallest of things…" Dawn commented.

"Well if he was born from the hatred of Digimon and feeds off the evil down here he's just full of anger." Tai replied.

VictoryGreymon glided just in front of WarGreymon and wielded his sword before firing a powerful beam of energy from it. "Trident Gaia!"

The attack struck Titamon full on, and his painful scream could be heard as he momentarily disappeared amongst the dust cloud that rose up from the impact.

"Terra Force!" WarGreymon unleashed his attack, but Titamon suddenly emerged through the cloud of dust and with one swift move he sliced WarGreymon's attack in two.

"Look out!" Tai quickly pushed his daughter out of the way as half of the Terra Force attack headed towards them. It struck the side of the gorge behind them, showering them in pieces of rock.

During a small break in the fight, there was a low growling sound coming from deep below the ground. VictoryGreymon stepped back as he looked down in the large crack Titamon had created earlier to see the ghostly figure of a Devidramon appear from beneath. The ghost growled, seemingly turning its attention straight to VictoryGreymon, who cautiously stepped back.

Titamon, who was still floating in the air, grinned to himself. "Ah perfect. I could do with a little energy boost." He dropped down onto the ground right behind Devidramon and immediately thrust his sword into the ghost. Devidramon began to wail as Titamon's sword began to emit a black mist.

Tai, Dawn and their Digimon all watched on as Devidramon's ghost began to be sucked into the sword, and as the sword consumed the data, the same black mist began to surround Titamon's body as his strength increased. "… So that's why Datamon and the others left in a hurry…" Dawn said in awe as she watched Devidramon's ghost completely disappear into Titamon's sword. "They didn't want to end up as his appetizers."

Once the consumption was complete, Titamon lowered his sword smiling contently.

"What did you do?" WarGreymon demanded. "Who was that?"

Titamon grinned. "This is the graveyard of deleted data. Below you underground is full of what is left of the data of Digimon who do not make it back to the Digital World after they die. Only their souls remain here imprisoned forever. I soon learned I could feed from their souls and steal their dark energy, making myself stronger." His grin then widened before he slowly pointed his sword at the two mega Digimon. "Perhaps it could work on you too… I may finally have enough power to defeat the Olympus Twelve with your energy… Soul Core Attack!"

VictoryGreymon quickly took the shield from his back and attached it to his left arm before raising it up and blocking Titamon's sword as he homed on him first.

Titamon continued to grin as he tried to penetrate VictoryGreymon's defense. "All it will take is my sword to pierce your digi-core and your data will be mine…"

VictoryGreymon felt himself struggle a little, but he strengthened his stance and managed to match the force from Titamon. "Not if my sword trumps yours!" with one swift move, he maneuvered his dramon breaker and swung it near ground level, knocking Titamon's feet up from under him causing him to collapse on the ground.

"Mega Claw!" WarGreymon descended down from above. He began to spin like a tornado and slammed into Titamon with full force.

Titamon cried out as he was thrown back, tumbling into a heap on the ground. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the armor on his left shoulder had taken some damage. There was a large crack in the metal and the tip of the spike on top was broken. He narrowed his eyes, turning to face WarGreymon and VictoryGreymon. He slowly got to his feet, his anger increasing.

"I think that just made him even angrier…" VictoryGreymon commented.

"Then let's hurry and end this, even if it's just temporally suspending him long enough for us to escape." WarGreymon replied.

VictoryGreymon casually swung his sword so it rested over his right shoulder. "Yeah, and I think I have an idea…" he then looked ahead to see Titamon was striding towards them aggressively; his eyes fixed on them both.

"I've never lost a fight, and I don't plan on losing now, especially to you two clowns." Titamon said sharply as he continued to approach them.

"Actually, you just missed the clown!" Dawn called out.

"Huh?" Titamon stopped and turned his head in the direction of where the voice had come from.

"Mega Claw!" WarGreymon took full advantage of his distraction and immediately pounced, beginning his spinning attack. He slammed into Titamon who then tried to fend him off. At first WarGreymon was unable to move him as the shaman Digimon pushed back, but Titamon's feet began to slide backwards through the dirt, allowing WarGreymon to regain the advantage and push him along until he was thrown into the side of the gorge. WarGreymon ceased his attack and pinned Titamon against the wall.

VictoryGreymon flew up as fast as he could to the top of the gorge, directly above WarGreymon and Titamon. His sword began to glow as he gathered as much energy as he could. He positioned himself just above the edge and with all his strength he impaled his sword into the ground, releasing all the energy inside. The energy shot out of the sword and into the side of the gorge, causing a huge explosion. The ignition caused the wall to crack everywhere and trigger a rockslide. VictoryGreymon then did the same again, causing more rock to collapse.

Down below Titamon was still struggling against WarGreymon when the ground began to shudder. "Huh?" he grunted.

WarGreymon glanced up, and waited for the right time to release his hold on Titamon. Just before the rocks reached them, he leapt back and as fast as he could he flew away, scooping up Tai and Dawn, before he carried them up to safety.

Before Titamon knew what was happening, the rockslide hit, quickly burying him in a huge pile of rubble.

WarGreymon joined VictoryGreymon at the top, allowing him to take Dawn. "Quick, let's get out of here whilst we can."

Tai looked up, seeing the mountain peaks in the far distance. "Thanks to Puppetmon we now know Grandracmon's castle is in the mountains."

"I guess my hunch was right," WarGreymon said lightheartedly before he and VictoryGreymon set off in the direction of the mountains and leaving the gorge behind…

Down below at the bottom of the gorge, the rockslide had finally settled with the last few stones hitting the ground. But the silence didn't last long, as suddenly the pile of rocks exploded apart flying everywhere. Through the thick dust cloud that filled the area, Titamon emerged slowly still holding his sword. He was covered in dust and scuff marks. He looked around, noticing there was no sign of WarGreymon or VictoryGreymon. Snarling under his breath he flew up out of the gorge and surveyed the wastelands.

He then noticed, very faintly in the far distance, two moving figures. "Well played dragon warriors…" he grumbled to himself. "But you're not going to get away with making a fool of me… after all; I am know for always getting my revenge."

.:Telecom Centre, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

The battle was still going strong as ChaosGallantmon continued to fend off each Digimon as they tried to land a shot against his shield in an attempt to destroy it. Each of them was taking it in turns to attack, in the hope he would eventually tire and cause a lapse in his concentration. But at the moment he was still holding firm. He swung his spear; swatting away three fireballs Meramon had fired. Silphymon lunged towards him in an attempt to unleash a powerful kick to his shield, but ChaosGallantmon saw her coming and flew up higher, causing her to collide with Lillymon who was attacking from the opposite side.

ChaosGallantmon descended down and landed on the ground, focusing his attention on the nearest Digimon, Meramon. "Demon Disaster!"

"Hearts Attack!" Monzaemon acted quickly and unleashed a single pink heart. It latched itself onto the tip of ChaosGallantmon's spear just before his Demon Disaster attack was fired.

"Huh?" ChaosGallantmon blinked in confusion. The attack fired, but the pressure built up inside the heart and before he had time to react, the heart exploded with ChaosGallantmon receiving the full blast of his own attack.

"Heat Wave!" Meramon stretched his arms out, and unleashed two waves of fire from the palms of his hands.

ChaosGallantmon was just recovering from Monzaemon's attack when the fire struck him head on in the chest, knocking him down again.

"Talk about heartburn…" Davis joked.

Imperialdramon swooped down from above, firing a round of blasts from his gun, trying to aim specifically for the shield.

ChaosGallantmon moved just in time, and the blasts struck the ground. As Imperialdramon flew overhead, he aimed his spear. "Chaos Shot!" Firing off four rounds, one hit Imperialdramon's shoulder.

"This is turning out to be tougher than we thought…" Kari commented.

"He's gotta tire out at some point guys," Davis protested as he kept his eyes on the fight. "We just need to keep at it."

"If this goes on much longer our Digimon might tire out before he does." Yolei said.

Imperialdramon descended down a little in the air so he was in line with Mimi's partner. "Lillymon, do you think you could use your wreath attack on him again?"

"Huh? But it doesn't hold him for long…" Lillymon said a little puzzled.

"It doesn't matter. All I need is a second." Imperialdramon replied before he flew off to take his position.

Lillymon blinked, still unsure what Imperialdramon was getting at. "Uh, well ok then." She agreed, even though he had already left her side. She flew closer to ChaosGallantmon, who was currently taking a swipe at Unimon with his sword. "Flower Wreath!"

ChaosGallantmon huffed as he saw the small ultimate Digimon whizz around him, wrapping her vines and flowers around his midsection, trapping his arms. "Urgh… didn't you learn the first time your petty flowers are useless against me?"

"Positron Laser!"

Just at the same time as ChaosGallantmon freed himself from Lillymon's attack, his shield suddenly shattered into pieces, disintegrating from his grasp. He gasped under his breath in shock, and looked across to see Imperialdramon facing him with his smoking gun still aimed at him. "Why you-"

"I just thought I would finish what Daemon started," Imperialdramon humored, causing the dark Digimon to growl even more.

Davis grinned. "Nice move Imperialdramon, now let's finish the job!"

ChaosGallantmon grunted as he narrowed his eyes, turning his attention to the DigiDestined. His focus on them soon caused Davis's smile to disappear. He remained silent as he aimed his spear at them, and without warning he fired a single blast from it.

"Mimi!" Lillymon cried out. She flew down and threw herself in front of the attack, shielding the DigiDestined from harm. The blast struck her, and she was thrown to the ground.

Imperialdramon gasped in shock as he watched the ultimate Digimon collapse…

"Lillymon!" Mimi exclaimed as she watched her partner collapse to the ground. She ran over, as Lillymon de-digivolved back into Palmon. Mimi knelt down and scooped her rookie partner up into her arms. "Palmon…" she said softly as Palmon slowly opened her eyes a little.

ChaosGallantmon scowled as his attack had only taken out Palmon and not been strong enough to destroy her. He started to raise his spear again, when Imperialdramon suddenly dropped down, landing heavily on the ground in front of him. "Do you want to be first?" he said sharply.

Imperialdramon just glared at the dark knight Digimon. "Splender Blade!" he suddenly manifested a sword of light from his gauntlet and immediately launched an attack on ChaosGallantmon. He attacked aggressively, not letting up as he continuously swung his sword as hard as he could.

Taken by surprise, ChaosGallantmon was struggling to keep up as he maneuvered his spear to block each attack. With each swing, he could feel Imperialdramon's strength increasing as he was forced further back onto the street in front of the Telecom Centre. His spear started to sustain damage as the hits kept on coming, with small cracks appearing all over it.

Imperialdramon continued to strike as hard as he could, and with one final blow he raised his sword high before swinging it down with all his strength, letting the blade slice straight through the spear.

The dark knight Digimon was stunned once again as his spear split in two before crumbling to pieces and then finally disintegrating into data. Speechless, ChaosGallantmon merely looked up from where his spear had fallen to Imperialdramon.

With his glare still fixed on ChaosGallantmon, Imperialdramon levitated himself up off the ground a little as the dragon face on his chest opened up; revealing a cannon. "It's time we ended this… Give me all you've got guys!" he called to the other Digimon. "This Digimon has officially outstayed his welcome..."

Silphymon nodded with a smile. "Static Force!"

"Aerial Attack!"

"Hearts Attack!"

"Heat Wave!"

Imperialdramon began to summon his own energy as the attacks from the other four Digimon homed in and began to form together inside his cannon. It began to glow as the energy increased supercharging it…

"No…" ChaosGallantmon gasped under his breath as he watched the cannon glow brighter. "This can't happen…" Without any weapons he was helpless and had no way to defend or counter attack. He quickly turned and jumped up into the air, flying away.

"I don't think so… you're not getting away from me a second time… Giga Crusher!" Imperialdramon floated a little higher and aimed his cannon before firing it with full force. A large and powerful beam of energy erupted from the cannon and thundered through the air towards the fleeing Digimon…

ChaosGallantmon was just passing through the gap in the Telecom Centre building when the attack struck him from behind. His cry echoed across the area as the energy from the cannon was so powerful it pulverized his data in an instance and in a flash; he was gone.

"Alright!" Davis cheered. "Great job guys."

The Digimon returned to their partners, but remained in their current digivolved forms. Imperialdramon landed just in front of Davis and Ken, but his attention was diverted to something that caught his eye in the sky in the distance in the direction of the bay. "Huh?"

"What is it Imperialdramon?" Ken asked a little cautiously before he and the others turned their heads to see what he was looking at.

In the distance beyond the TV station there were flashes of lightning strikes that filled the sky…

"That's coming from the bay…" Kari commented.

Mimi, who was still holding Palmon, suddenly gasped. "Oh no, the kids!"

.:Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

"Electro Squall!" Wizardmon fired his attack again, unleashing an intense lightning strike upon Wisemon, but the ultimate Digimon simply expanded his two space time stones to surround himself in a protective force field. The lightning struck, but ricocheted off before fizzling out.

Wisemon then ceased his force field and immediately attacked striking Wizardmon with his space time stones, one after the other, which let off a mini blast upon contact.

The force was so powerful it threw Wizardmon clear across the bay away from the battery island and onto Rainbow Bridge. He crashed against the road, just missing a passing car, before he smashed through the central reservation before coming to a stop in a heap on the opposite side of the road.

"Wizardmon!" Margaret cried out, as she and the others continued to watch on helplessly from their cages.

Wizardmon moved about to get up when suddenly a dark aura surrounded his body, disabling him. He managed to look up to see Wisemon was now above him, having used one of his space time stones to trap him in his current position.

With his left arm stretched out controlling the space time stone, Wisemon raised his right hand and began to charge up his other stone with energy preparing to unleash a powerful blow to Wizardmon…
