A/N: Sorry for the delay! I was torn with which way to take the story, and I realized I hate writting subplots/backstories, which is of course essential to the story hahaha. Oh well! I hope you guys like the new chapters, I am trying to power through them so we can get back to good stuff! Again, please review and let me know what you think! Thank you! - Aika
Yesterday (Day 1) - 7:00 PM
"I can see the castle master Jaken!" Rin pointed out. She leaned up in her excitement, almost falling off of A-Un.
"You foolish girl!" Jaken screeched as he tugged on her kimono before she could fall off the two headed dragon.
"I wonder what Lady InuKimi is doing!" Rin said, promptly ignoring his reprimand and instead listing off all the things she was looking forward to.
Jaken remained silent, he was fond of Lady InuKimi as well, but he still feared her, after all she was the one who birthed the great and mighty Lord Sesshoumaru. It also didn't help that she refused to remember his name.
The dragon started its descent, and below he could see they already had a welcome party; Lady InuKimi in all her regal wear, surrounded by her ladies in waiting.
Rin was almost bouncing off her seat as they landed. A lady in waiting helped her jump down and another gathered their supplies.
"Lady InuKimi!" She yelled out, happily running towards the demoness with great speed, coming to a complete halt right before reaching her and bowing down respectfully.
"Rin, I have told you before, you must address this one as Lady Mother." She chided with a smile.
"Yes, pardon this one, Lady Mother." Rin repeated.
"Great!" She clapped her hands happily. "Now then, how was your trip young one?" She asked, brushing her hand across Rin's hair, leaving a scent trail, claiming the child in the name of the House of the West and as off limits to those who do not wish to die a most unpleasant death.
They turned towards the castle gates, ladies in waiting bringing up the many flowers and other supplies. "It was great!" Rin began.
Jaken scurried around behind them, rushing to keep up with the two ladies.
"We picked many flowers, went to the sea, saved a village, Lord Sesshoumaru even bought Rin some fabric for a new kimono!" She babbled on as they made their way to the great dining hall.
"We were taking a rest before Lord Sesshoumaru asked us to come back." The child said, a little dejectedly at the idea of being apart from her father figure.
"I see." InuKimi replied. They had just reached the dining area for a late supper. They sat on the cushions as dinner was served and ate in relative peace as Rin filled the silence with her idle chatter.
