After several months, living in the dorms became a new normal. Some of the students of class 1A had been interning under pro heroes. Others focused on their studies. And all the while, Kageyama and Hinata have adopted their new reality of not being friends.
Kageyama decided not to intern at the Deku agency again. Instead, he had Deku recommend him to other pro heroes. The one that he settled on was the Inventor Hero: Genesis. She had a similar quirk to his, as she could zoom her eyesight to up to five kilometers away. Kageyama had learned plenty of things from her agency: one, not all heroes are meant to go out in the field and fight; two, a good hero is expected to be punctual, even early; and three, some heroes are really weird. Genesis decided it was a good idea to have Kageyama test out her "babies" - her support items that she built for heroes, the reason for her agency - in the field. He thought it was wildly convoluted, but he did it anyway because she paid well for what little Kageyama had to do.
Hinata went back to the Deku agency. He had a good experience the first time, so he decided that it was a good idea to get paid to work there. He learned important things, there, too: one, a good hero protects everyone he can; two, a hero should be as quick as possible when saving people; and three, Eri gives good love advice.
Hinata's life at the dorms had been subpar at best. He was able to get closer to Yachi and Inuoka, but his life had been boring to him. He just went through the motions of going to school, going to work once a week, and going to training every night. He ignored Kageyama to the point of not even noticing him anymore.
All the while, their split up had been eating away at Kageyama on the inside. He wanted to apologize to Hinata, without knowing what he had to apologize for. He thought that Hinata had already forgotten about the fight, as their useless bickering had always ended up, but Hinata seemed to look right through him whenever he looked his way.
He realized that Yamaguchi was right; someone prettier than Kageyama had scooped Hinata up before his very eyes.
Atsumu Miya, year two, class A. Age: seventeen. His quirk: Burn. He also worked at the Deku agency. Kageyama had no evidence that they were officially dating, but he saw the two flirting with each other during lunches (or at least Atsumu flirting with Hinata). Hinata also had a new tendency to sneak out an hour before curfew, and return right at curfew.
Atsumu had a twin brother, Osamu. Also year two, class A. Also seventeen years old. His quirk: Freeze. He would occasionally talk to Hinata, mostly when his brother wasn't around. Kageyama figured that was because Atsumu would be jealous of his own brother.
And for some reason, Atsumu had made it a point to rub his friendship in.
"Are you jealous?" Atsumu asked in a conversation a couple of weeks before.
"Jealous of what?" Kageyama grunted.
"Jealous of me and our little Ace of Crows," Atsumu grinned evilly. "I see you staring at our lunch table constantly."
"I'm not jealous," Kageyama growled. "I don't get jealous. It was my idea to not be friends anymore."
"Oh, you thought I was asking about friendship," Atsumu laughed. "No, no, no, I was asking about love."
Kageyama's face heated up. He opened his mouth to retort, but he was interrupted by Hinata hitting Atsumu on the back of the head.
"Quit messing with people," he scolded, walking by. "Come on, we're going to be last in the lunch line. Osamu's already there."
"Coming, love of my life!" Atsumu smirked at Kageyama and chased the short boy.
"Stop calling me that!" Hinata grumbled, but it was obviously all in good fun. He latched onto Atsumu's arm and dragged him into the cafeteria.
Kageyama watched wistfully as the two walked away. That could've been him if he hadn't suggested that they break up.
Yachi, on the other hand, had been doing well for herself. She was interning with Dynamight (despite the mental trauma she received the first time). It turned out that Dynamight had requested her to come back. She had apparently impressed him so much that he wanted to train her into the best hero she could be. Either he was impressed, or completely flabbergasted at Yachi's inability to control her quirk, and he wanted to keep an eye on her. Either way, she was at a good job where she was paid well.
She was also doing well in the relationships department. She had confessed her feelings to Shimizu, who had (thankfully) accepted and reciprocated them. They were an awkward couple, with Shimizu being shy and quiet, while Yachi felt the need to explain herself at every turn, but they were happy.
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi were two who decided to focus on their studies - and each other. Their relationship was going strong. Of course, they had their little fights, like any good couple, but they would get over the argument, and go back to normal with their new information about each other.
And everyone else? Well, they were as they usually were.
A/N: So, uhm...I really wanted my awkward lesbians to be happy together, so I might've rushed their relationship just a wee bit. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter! The next chapter starts the end of the final arc, so get excited, bois!
